rebeccanoto17, thank you for adding this to your favorite stories!
Sorry for the wait on this. I have had a lot going on w/ my life right now and haven't been able to write or feel the spirit to write anything. Thanks for sticking with me tho.
Tucker, Jazz, and Dash rushed around the house, shouting the names of the two raven haired teens, the pair nowhere to be found, though after a few minutes of yelling they headed outside, the large backyard empty of life. "Where could they have gone?" the red head asked softly, confusion in her tone as well as worry. If her parents came home to find that she had lost two of the children under their roof, one of them their own blood, then they would kill her. Tucker was confused as well. He had been sure that the pair had been in the basement with him and then they were gone...
"Hey, that bush is moving!" Dash yelled, his loud voice causing Jazz to wince. Tucker looked to where the jock had seen the bush move while the red head smacked him in annoyance. The bush was indeed moving and a few moments later the pair of missing teens emerged, their clothing dirty from the mud and their faces red. The jock frowned while Tucker moved to find out what had happened and Jazz sighed in relief and annoyance at their disappearing and reappearing act.
"What the hell? We've been looking for you for the last half hour or so!" the older sibling complained. Dash approached Sam, his hands coming out to aid her while also pushing Danny away.
"Are you okay?" The Goth in question pushed him away with a growl, her hand shaking slightly as the electrical current from the portal still swam thru her blood. Danny felt the buzz too, though for some reason he was more concerned with the pallor of his Goth friend as she moved to get away from all the attention, even pushing his sister away with a muttered word or two. Jazz raised a red brow at her brother, the now halfa shaking his head as he went to follow the Goth.
"I think you should let her be man," Tucker advised. "You know how Sam feels about the need to be alone at times." Danny knew that his friend was right, but the fact that they had just been blasted, and should have died, was weighing heavily. His friend might not like him worrying about her, but damnit, he wanted to make sure she was okay. "What happened down there? Besides you guys now being of the zone, that is..." Yanking on the techno's arm the pair headed into the house and to his room while Jazz just watched them go before taking Dash by the arm with a scowl, the words work the only thing said. Once in his room Danny relayed what had happened, how they had sunk into the earth and once down there how Sam had freaked out for a moment before they figured out how to fly out of it only to find themselves outside. "So you landed in the bushes, but how did you revert back?" The halfa shrugged.
"I have no idea, but then again I am super confused about what went down... Save for the fact that it was my fault." Tucker raised a brow at his friend. "I was the one that hit the switch in the machine... and the one that tripped..." The dark skinned male frowned.
"You know that it could have happened to anyone. It was dark in there and you were trying to catch up with Sam after all." Danny didn't see it that way. Sure, he hadn't wanted to be in there any more than he wanted his friend to be in there, but damn, he felt like he could have killed his friend...hell, he might as well have since now they were part dead and on the bounty list of a few people, his parents included, that would love to figure out how their powers worked or just to have their head on a platter. He let out a groan as he flopped on his bed.
"Yeah, but now we're targets, not that being an outcast at school wasn't bad enough, but this is going to be a 24hr target thing for the both of us! And worse thing is that two of those hunters are MY ghost hunting parents!" Tucker sighed, sitting down at the computer across from his friend. This was true, but maybe there was a way to correct this or to ensure that they didn't get killed...
"Why not tell your parents?" the dark skinned male asked. Danny glared at the other male, his blue eyes flashing green. "Ooookay. Forget I said that."
"Yeah, let's go tell my parents that we were in the lab when they weren't there, that we messed with unsafe equipment and oh, let's just add to that that we are now something that ruined Sam's life and is something that they want to dissect!" He fell back on his bed, his mind going over what had happened, all of them forgetting that the techno geek of the group had been filming, his camera in his pocket as the pair tried to figure out what to do with the new issue of the pair being half ghosts.
Sam was sitting in the guest room that had been converted into her room, the small room sandwiched between the siblings so she could hear the pair talking about everything, her own mind a myriad of questions and fears. It wasn't Danny's fault, she couldn't lay that at his feet. She had wanted to go into the portal, had since his parents had started building it pretty much. She had been just as curious about the Ghost Zone as his parents, but then instead of waiting to see if they could fix it or to maybe aid in figuring it out, she had pushed to go in. She was still confused as to what had happened though. Had the switch to turn it on been inside the machine? Had they inadvertently pulled a wire and caused it to spark to life?
Danny had mentioned a switch just now to Tucker, but had it been the power switch? His father had done that before though... It was true. The weapons' vault locked from the outside, but had nothing inside of it like most did if someone were to get locked in... Sam closed her eyes. This sounded familiar and in the fact she and Danny were turned into half ghosts like Vlad had because of Jack and Maddie Fenton. Unlike the older, now dead, half ghost, she didn't harbor any anger towards them. She knew that it was her fault that they had been turned into half ghosts, but the fact of the matter was that Danny was right. They were in danger and if they didn't learn how to use their powers to keep what had happened in the basement from happening in front of others, then they were dead. She didn't want Danny to be hurt, not after all that he had gone thru to protect her from Vlad and the ghosts that had been helping him. She would rather it just be her since she had no family to mourn her. Danny would kill you for even thinking that no one would mourn you. Shaking her head she willed her conscious to shut up. Sure, he would mourn her and his family would be upset, but her parents were dead and his were still alive.
Getting up she headed for his room, knocking on the door before heading in. The pair of males looked at her, Danny looking worried while Tucker just waited for her to say something. "We need to figure out how to control our powers," Sam stated as she locked the door behind her. The pair nodded.
"But how? I don't even know how we reverted back to our human side, much less why we are back in our clothing and not the hazmat suits," the raven haired male stated as he pulled at his typical white shirt with the single red circle in the center. Yeah, she didn't have an answer for that either, but they needed to figure it out and soon. His parents would only be gone for the week, so they had less than a week and most of that would be in school...
"I wish I had answers, Danny, but we have one week until your parents get back and a whole week of school to get thru at the same time," the Goth stated as she sat down next to him. "I don't know what we're going to do or how we're going to do it, but we need to try." Danny nodded. She was right. They were lucky that his parents were gone, but they still had to go to school. Jazz wouldn't help them out there without knowing why they couldn't go to school and telling the older sibling what had happened would be like telling his parents. She would snitch... That was certain.
"Well, one thing is for certain," Tucker stated, the first thing he had said since Sam had entered the room. "You can revert to your human appearance so that's a plus. We just need to figure out how you did that and at least you don't have to worry about that."
"Well, that and going thru the floors," Sam stated with a frown. Danny thought about that. He hadn't gone thru the floor first, Sam had. That was one clue.
"It has to be tied to our emotions," the male halfa stated. Sam and Tucker looked at him in surprise. "We were freaking out, but you went thru the floor first and I followed. Could it be that once we calmed down that we reverted back or that we didn't go thru the ground outside?" Without having another halfa to ask about these things it was impossible to have legit answers, but it was true that when they had been freaking out that they had gone intangible.
"Okay, that makes sense," Sam stated. "But what about the fact that you lost your sight while I didn't? Those don't match..."
"I'm fine now," Danny stated, putting his hand on her shoulder. That's when it hit him. There was one ghost whom they had had contact with that knew what Vlad had been. He had explained it and then they had found more information about the accident that had made Vlad what he was too. Danny sighed. Sam looked at him in confusion.
"What's wrong?"
"I thought I had it figured out, but then again it doesn't add up. The ghost that took your form that one year knew what Vlad was, but no other information than that. The GIW though had been on the edge of making Vlad turn into his ghost form, but I don't know what they did to prompt that either and then the fact that Vlad became who he was from the accident the same way we did. It's a whole bunch of loose ends with nothing to tie them together."
"You didn't get the ecto acne either!" Tucker suddenly stated. "The make of the smaller ghost portal had a different set up versus the new one. That is one difference, though it doesn't make the fact that you are all halfas change. His was different and yet the same as yours." Tucker turned toward Danny's computer and pulling up the footage from the house when Vlad had been alive began to review certain parts. "He changes at will so it must be like," the techno nerd paused as if to think of how best to word it when Sam interrupted.
"When Goku goes super Saiyan?" she queried. Danny smiled. Sam was right! He powered up, but otherwise he willed his powers!
"He was also worn out faster when he first used it!" Tucker exclaimed. "New powers means you have to harness them or they just stop!" The trio were hopeful now. They had an idea of what to do but with such little time they would have to start working on before school the next day.
