Later that night found the trio still in Danny's room, worn out as they tried to change between personas. They had managed to keep the change into their ghostly forms for more than a few minutes before reverting to their human forms, though they found that it took a lot out of them. Sam sighed as she leaned her head back against a wall. "At least we haven't gone thru the floor," she pointed out on a sigh.

"But we haven't been freaking out either," Danny pointed out. Before they could discuss it further Tucker's phone rang, the dark skinned male looking down to see that it was past eight in the evening and that it was his mother calling him.

"Oh, shit," he muttered before answering it, the sound of his mother's voice coming thru loud and clear as she asked where he was before giving him instructions to be home in the next few minutes. "Okay, mom." Hanging up he apologized to them before heading out, the pair left there alone for a few moments before Jazz appeared looking more than a bit frustrated.

"So, you gonna come down for dinner or are you going to keep yourselves locked up?" the red headed sibling asked. She sounded a little bit frustrated as the sound of the door closing downstairs alerted the pair to the fact that the jock was now gone. Had she been tutoring him for the whole day?! Sam looked to Danny, her amethyst orbs looking a little dull at the moment. They were tired, but both knew they needed to eat since nourishment meant energy.

"Yeah, we're coming," the raven haired male stated as he helped Sam up, the Goth finding that getting up was a struggle. After eating their dinner, Sam's a special meal since she didn't eat meat, the pair headed upstairs, the raven haired female finding that her energy was still rather sapped while Danny didn't seem to be as affected as she was. She said a mumbled good night to her friend before entering her room and closing the door behind her. She didn't even manage to change into her PJ's as her body grew heavier with each step. She was trying to hold it in, to keep her friend from realizing that she was having a hard time even getting her feet to move forward...to even take one step...before she blacked out, her body landing on the bed faced down.

Danny on the other hand wasn't feeling such an effect on his own body. His energy wasn't great, but it wasn't as sapped as his friend's and while she hadn't told him of her struggles something was telling him to check on her. He took a step out of his room only to be greeted by his sister looking rather irritated.

"Danny, what are you doing? You need to get to sleep like Sam has," the red head sibling stated before shoving the dark haired male back into his room. "Mom and dad would kill me if they found out that I let you guys stay up late!" Danny wanted to fight her on this, but since Sam was indeed quiet as they were fussing outside her door he figured that his sister was right. After all, even though Jazz didn't know it, Sam and he had been pushing themselves that day and would indeed be tired. If they were going to make it thru the first day of school with these new powers then they would need all the sleep they could get...though he was still feeling rather iffy about leaving without checking on Sam. "Don't make me force you into your room," his sister grumbled. "After having to deal with Dash all day and then the disappearing act you two pulled earlier, I don't feel like having to fight with you over going to bed!" He threw her a glare, but headed into his room, the door slamming on her angry face. Grumbling under his breath he hit the lights before just crawling into bed after discarding his clothing on the floor.

He was upset with his sister, worried about his friend, and also wondering what the next week would hold for the pair of them with this new development. As he fell asleep, his hand raised to rest against the wall where his friend lay passed out he whispered, "We can do it, Sam." His eyes closed in that moment and he fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning found the Goth awake, her eyes a bit dull as she stared into the mirror, her mind going over not only what had happened the day before, but the fact that her sleep had been disturbed with nightmares. She shot the clock next to her bed a look of disgust as it clicked over to 5:01am. Turning from the dresser, the mirror reflecting her back now with her long hair matted and crazy looking, she headed back to her bed. She knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep, not when they would have to get up in a couple hours to head to school, but she still wanted to lie down. She couldn't figure out what was going on with her and these new powers. When she had woken up earlier she had found herself under her bed, the abrupt wakening from the nightmare only making her anxiety go up when she didn't know where she was. It was so frustrating. She knew that Danny wasn't feeling this worn out since he hadn't appeared as sluggish, even after eating. He had been the one to help her up before dinner...She hadn't even made it to bed properly. In fact she remembered that she had been on her way to bed and that was all that she remembered before waking up under her bed.

Sighing she laid back down, the curtains pulled to keep the light out as she closed her eyes, her mind going back over the nightmares from the night before. What was it with the male that had been killed all those years ago and his sudden reappearance into her life? She hadn't been plagued by those nightmares in a long time and now suddenly she was back in that house, back in that room with those two ghosts and... Vlad... Shuddering she felt a chill go over her body. Grasping the blankets she pulled them over her head and willed the images to go away.

Danny rolled over with a groan, his blue eyes opening to find the red numbers of his clock glaring back at him. 5:30am? Why was he awake this early? He was never up this early! Groaning he wanted to close his eyes and go back to sleep when a small voice called him, the feminine voice familiar as it cried out. He sat up, grabbing clothing as he listened for any sound in the silence of the house. Nothing. His sister was still asleep and Sam, Sam never got up this early either... So who was this voice? Who was calling him? Pulling on his clothing he headed out of his room and stopping in the hall waited to see if the voice would call him again. He could hear nothing in the silence of the house, but something was calling him toward his friend's room. Pushing the door open he found his friend on the bed...shaking. He rushed over to her side, the sudden appearance of a blue mist coming from her parted lips stopping him in his tracks. What was that? Before he could worry about that oddity the small woman in the bed suddenly arched inward, her body curling further into the blankets as she let out a whimper.

"N-No," she whispered as she began to shake, the sudden motion just slight at first before it became slightly more violent. Danny grabbed Sam, crawling into her bed to pull her into him as he whispered softly to her.

"Sam, it's just a dream," he whispered. She began to fight him, her hands coming out to push at him only to go intangible and pass thru him before her body started to go completely clear. Danny almost freaked out as well, but thinking on his feet as he had when they were in the basement he forced his own body to go intangible with hers so that he could control her own powers. It was weird. It was like they were connected via the powers because as soon as he went intangible he was able to keep her from going completely intangible. Keeping his eyes on her he willed his own body to go solid again, the sight of his own body going appearing again forcing the woman in his arms to become solid again. "Sam, you need to wake up." He was worried as she failed to wake up, but as soon as she was fully solid he gave her a little shake, the amethyst orbs of his friend opening but they were not amethyst...They were green and they were unfocused.

"Da-anny?" she asked.

"Yes, Sam, it's me," he whispered. She became relaxed, her body becoming heavy, but the blue mist appeared again as she heaved a sigh. "What is that?" She blinked at his question.

"What?" Did she not see the blue mist? "What are you talking about?"

"Did you not see the blue mist?" She shook her head, the confusion evident in her still green eyes. "That's the second time I have seen the mist come from your mouth since I came in here," he stated. The Goth blinked and when her eyes opened again they were back to their amethyst tone, but the confusion was still in them.

"Danny, I don't know what is going on, but I feel so... weak," the raven haired stated. It wasn't something that the Goth admitted to, being weak. She only had ever admitted it once before and that was when the ordeal with Vlad had been going on. She was only ever open with Danny, but even then she wasn't one to tell him of such an emotion often.

"You're not weak, Sam," he stated. "You've been thru so much and most people would have..." he faded off, unable to say the words. She shook her head at him.

"No, I feel drained. I haven't been feeling like myself since we came out of that portal and I can't figure it out," she clarified as she smiled. "But thanks for the boost of confidence." He chuckled and the pair sat there in silence for a moment before she realized that he was in her bed and was holding her! Shifting she made distance between them. "Um, have you been feeling drained or anything?" It was strange that she would feel so... well, there was no word that she could use, but she knew that she had a crush on her friend, but maybe after all they had been thru it was just because they were so close. She didn't think he felt that way, even though when he had found her that day so many years ago he had promised that they would be friends forever... and that she was his other half. That was just as friends though.

"I felt a little tired, but not drained really," the male halfa stated, unaware that his friend was having so much turmoil over their transformation as well as other things. "Are you going to be able to go to school?"

"Danny, you should know the answer to that," she said before getting off the bed. "I don't miss school, even if I hate it." While he knew this was true he wasn't sure it was a good idea if she went to school feeling the way she was and he didn't even know the half of what had happened the night before. "Now, I would like to get some more rest if I can before school." The pair looked at the clock and realized that they had another hour before they had to get up, but before Danny could suggest her letting him stay in the room with her just in case another bout of nightmares hit, the Goth pushed him off her bed and toward the door. "I'll be fine," she said, her voice brooking no argument while inwardly she wasn't all that sure that she would be, not with the nightmares and with going to school. She was ahead of the class, but she didn't want to ruin her chance to be what she wanted to be when she was finally out of the horrid place that would keep her in its walls for another three years.

Danny opened his mouth to say something to her and seeing her look of defiance he closed it and wishing her sweet dreams left the Goth to go back to bed...
