Hello again readers, here is a very short chapter. I hope you enjoy reading it. :)
"Something has gone wrong." Riggs exclaimed out loud, while he watched the rowing boat come towards them, his eyes took in the details of William and a young lady, but someone was missing. Jack.
"Not more pirates." The young lady said with disbelief, as her feet planted upon the deck.
The feeling is mutual, Riggs thought annoyed, before he moved his eyes upon Will, as Gibbs pounced on him, wanting to know the whereabouts of his friend. However, his face reflected his grief, as Will mentioned Jack being left behind. Rising one eyebrow Riggs detected guilt creeping into the brown eyes of the man's.
"Keep to the code." Gibbs finally ordered, and allowed Anamaria to give the rest.
Riggs helped, while his eyes glued onto Will. He seemed distracted, vulnerable, swift and innocent, he would describe the young lad, yet he could not think he would have outsmarted a man like Jack. Riggs moved his gaze at last, mentally noting to be aware of the man's action.
...
Frozen, Charley stared at her old friend, who took in her appearance. She suddenly was conscious of her own presences; six years had passed, yet she had not grown that much since they said their goodbyes. Her hair was darker and shorter, her skin burned of scars and bruises, her mind frayed; tattoos covered some of the scars on her body, she tried to hide them, but both the scars and tattoos told a story of Charley Morgan; a name people knew but vanished with her freedom. A smile appeared on Jack's face, yet his eyes showed her something else, was it sadness? A few moments passed, before Charley made the decision to take a steps forward, so she could stand near him.
"Hello, love." Was the simple words Jack said, as if they had seen each other short amount of days, and not years.
"W-what the bloody hell, are you doing here? Jack, out of all the places." Charley asked, curiosity filled her, as she kept her eyes upon the man. It took all her strength not to move in and wrap her arms around him. She had missed his warm embrace. It took all her troubles away, if only it lasted a few moments.
"How the blazes did you get off that island? Barbossa asked, as he pushed himself through his crew, who stood around Jack with their pistols trained upon him.
"When you marooned me on that godforsaken spit of land, you forgot one very important thing, mate. " Jack replied, before gesturing his hands. "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow."
As if that could save you, Charley rolled her eyes, before she moved her eyes upon Barbossa again. It seemed history had caught up and stood facing him, without any fear.
"Ah, well, I won't be making that mistake again." He stated, before he turned to address his crew. "Gents, you all remember Captain Jack Sparrow? Kill him."
In a swift horror, Charley watched as the crew pointed their pistols at Jack again. Anger and irritation for blood was expressed upon their faces. She could not stop herself, as she found her feet moving forward, wanting to stand by her friend and protect him, though she knew it would mean certain death. However, two hands grabbed her arms, pulling her back. She tried to break herself free, but they were stronger. As she looked at the owner of the hands, she realised it was Ragetti and another pirate.
"The girl's blood didn't work, did it?" Jack asked, which made the older captain pause and stare at Jack again.
"Hold your fire." He ordered again. Tension blew around around the cave once more, as the crew, hesitated their movement of lowering their weapons. "You know whose blood we need?"
"I know whose blood ye need." Jack stated, as his smirk formed upon his face. He moved his gaze upon Charley once again, who shared her confusion, yet the smirk did not disappear, making her feel uneasy.
What are you playing at? She wondered.
