A/N: Hello! This is my first story on FanFiction and my first Scorbus story. I hope you enjoy it! Contains a lot of fluff, romance/non-romance, and cute little life dreams that may eventually come true (...yeah, they're all coming true, but that is beside the point).

The original story, characters, and world of Harry Potter all belong to J.K. Rowling.

It's the fifth year at Hogwarts for our duo, Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter. They are talking in a random empty classroom after they ran there and slammed the door. Let's see what they're saying, shall we?

"I can't believe I actually did that," Scorpius gasped.

"I can't really believe you did that either, Scorpius fricking Malfoy," Albus replied.

"Rose Granger-Weasley. I asked out Rose Granger-Weasley! I really did that!" Scorpius shouted.

"Not so loud, please! Someone might hear you! Besides, she said no, so what does it matter anyway?"

"But I asked her. I planted the seed that will eventually grow into our marriage!" Scorpius declared.

Albus rolled his eyes. "Scorpius, you are an utter fantasist and everybody in Hogwarts knows it. You're letting your imagination get the best of you and your hopes are through the roof and headed towards the sun. What happens if your 'dream' never actually happens? Your wings will burn and you'll be falling from a great height; it might take a while to recover."

"I would agree, though Polly Chapman did ask me to the school ball..."

"In a completely alternate reality, where you were significantly, real significantly, more popular, a different girl asked you out to the school ball. Plus, Rose didn't even exist in that universe."

"Alas, logic would dictate that I should go after Polly Chapman-the notorious beauty she is-but a Rose is a Rose."

Albus rolled his eyes again, getting annoyed with Scorpius' ranting. Albus knew that even though Scorpius apparently loved Rose, Rose didn't love him back. "Still, wouldn't logic dictate that you are a freak, Scorp? Rose hates your guts."

Scorpius sighed dramatically. "In fact, no, as there was only pity expressed when she rejected me. Pity, my friend, is a wonderful foundation to build a palace of love."

Albus scoffed. "Pity? Palace of love? Since when were you this philosophical?"

"The Philosopher's Stone?"

"I thought it was the Sorcerer's Stone?"

Scorpius laughed. "They call it that in America, apparently. Somehow you got accustomed to that."

"I kind of want to go to America someday. It sounds really amazing! I mean, such pretty sights, amazing food... I've heard there are some weird animals there, too, like a Gila monster? What is that?" Albus babbled.

Scorpius thought for a moment. "A Gila monster is a type of poisonous lizard, I think. Aren't there also those black bears and... what are they... groundhogs? There are those bald eagles too!"

Soon, they were excitedly chatting about things unique to America (not only animals now). They decided to head to the Slytherin common room since it was a free period. On the way, they passed Rose on the stairs.

"Hi," said Rose.

A silence falls onto the three as none of them know how to react or what to say.

Rose scoffed and noted, "This is only gonna be weird if you let it be weird. I have no place in this and I certainly don't have the time."

"Certainly. Received and understood. Good day, Rose," replied Scorpius.

"Alright. Bye, Al, bye 'Scorpion King' or whatever the hell it was."

The staircases shift and Rose walks off, chin high in a confident, almost haughty way.

"Huh, maybe pity is a start? It still sounds like bullshit to me," Albus commented.

Scorpius huffed. "Told you. Also, you swore. Hope this won't become a new thing, otherwise I have to institute a swear jar for you and I will make sure that you put in your money."

Albus giggled. "How much? You probably will have to 'institute a swear jar' anyway."

"Uh, doesn't matter, I guess? Depending on how generous I'm feeling that time," Scorpius murmured.

"Ah. You're never generous. Galleons, then?"

"Hey! I am very generous!"

"Well, you wouldn't give me some of your sweets yesterday. You always give me some of your sweets! What was that about, huh?"

"What are you talking about? Like you said, I always give you my sweets. Plus, I don't remember that at all."

Albus stopped. "What? I swear we were in the common room and I wanted some sweets but you were being all salty. It was definitely you."

Scorpius shook his head, trying to remember. "I still don't remember anything too exciting from yesterday. I mean, we went to classes and ate meals and hung out more during our free period. I guess if that did happen, I must have just not remembered it."

"Huh. Strange, since you usually have a sharp memory," Albus muttered, confused.

"Definitely, but we really shouldn't dwell on it; it's probably nothing," said Scorpius. "I wanna go do something fun. You up for anything in particular?"

"I really don't care, I guess. Maybe I need suggestions?"

"Well, we are basically banned from Hogsmeade because of last year's events. We could sneak there, too, but that's more of a Gryffindor thing. Meh, I didn't ever want to go to Hogsmeade that much, anyway. Well, there's the Quidditch pitch, or there's the lake, or..." Scorpius kept talking.

Albus wasn't really listening. He was staring at Scorpius, admiring his (oddly) fluffy-looking blonde hair, lovely grayish eyes, and soft skin. He was doing it unconsciously; it tended to happen a lot. Scorpius was just so pretty. After a few moments, Albus realized it and snapped out of the trancelike feeling, his face flushing.

"...but the Room of Requirement is also a good place to go. Actually, that sounds like a great idea, I wanna go there!" Scorpius finished.

Albus smiled and nodded. "Sure, Scorp, we can go to the Room of Requirement." He found it cute how Scorpius would talk and talk about things he was passionate about. When he got excited, his face lit up so bright that it was like all the darkness in the whole world was gone.

"What are you waiting for, Al? Come on!" Scorpius grabbed onto Albus' cloak sleeve and pulled him, with little success. Albus had gotten much taller and heavier since last year, and while Scorpius had as well, it wasn't quite as drastic. Albus had nearly half a head on Scorpius now, and was very proud of it.

"Dang it! Why are you so heavy, Al? It's like I'm dragging a pile of rocks!" Scorpius complained.

"I'm not that heavy, Scorpion. Gee, last time I checked you were only a few pounds lighter than me!" Albus laughed.

"Okay, so do you wanna try to drag me, then? Just to see?" Scorpius sassed.

Albus laughed again. In addition to growing about a foot over the summer, Albus had also gotten much stronger. Albus picked up Scorpius and swung him over his shoulder with relative ease.

"Hey! What are you doing? Put me down this instant, you- you imbecile!" Scorpius yelped, trying to kick Albus (with no luck).

Albus carried a squirming, protesting Scorpius all the way to the entrance of the Room of Requirement. There, Albus finally set him down and patted his shoulder.

"You didn't have to do that, idiot. I can walk by myself," Scorpius muttered, crossing his arms.

"What are you gonna do? You challenged me, it was your idea, technically!" Albus giggled.

"What am I gonna do, huh? Aguamenti!"

A jet of water rushed from Scorpius' wand and splashed right into Albus' face. Albus blocked it with his hands with no avail (y'know, cause it's water, dummy). Scorpius giggled and Albus circled around him until the spell stopped.

"Okay, now that I'm all wet, let's see if we can get inside," said Albus, making Scorpius giggle again.

Albus loved it when Scorpius giggled, since it was not only cute, but it also seemed to make the both of them happy. Whatever Albus would have to do to make Scorpius happy, he would do it, be it humiliation, affection, jumping off a cliff. Because Scorpius was his world, no matter how much he tried to deny it.

Albus loved Scorpius and would spend eternity with him over anything else, even as simply friends.

"Hey! I got it open, Al! I did it!" Scorpius exclaimed, bouncing with happiness.

Albus grinned. "Let's go, then?"

Scorpius nodded. "Yeah!"

The Room of Requirement appeared as a large room to them, filled with gadgets and trinkets and things neither of them had ever seen before. Scorpius was so fascinated by all of the old tools, both magical and Muggle. There was a map of the New World, an old telescope, an armillary sphere, and even an ancient sextant... whatever the hell that is, thought Albus. A Foe-Glass was sitting on a table. Albus kept looking around and found a large, dark cabinet.

"Scorp, come here! I found something!" Albus called.

Scorpius ran through the piles of junk to get to where Albus was and stopped. "Dad told me about this."

His voice sounded awed, but also small and scared.

"Hey, a-are you okay, Scorp? Would you mind telling me what this thing is?" Albus murmured.

"This is ah... this is a Vanishing Cabinet. It's an object that was used by Death Eaters, mostly, to step inside and close the door, only to appear at another Cabinet when you open the door. This one was broken. Dad used it when he was in sixth year, trying to find out how to fix it."

"Did he ever succeed?"

"He didn't tell me. He said I shouldn't worry about it."

"Well, it sounds cool! Should we go i-" "NO!"

Scorpius' high shout made Albus freeze.

"A-are you okay, Scorpius? Is... is something wrong?"

Scorpius was silent for a few moments, then murmured, "If we use this, we will look like Death Eaters. I... after everything that's happened, I-I don't..."

His shoulders started to tremble and his eyes got teary. Albus walked over to Scorpius right as he started to cry, embracing him tightly. The two boys stayed there in silence and sank to the floor, Albus holding Scorpius as he cried into his shoulder. Neither said anything for a long time, the whole Room of Requirement silent except for their light breathing and Scorpius' sobs.

Albus wasn't going to make Scorpius do anything until all of his tears had been spilled. After all, he knew that crying had many benefits on a physical, emotional, and mental level.

"I... I'm sorry, this is stupid..." Scorpius mumbled through choked sobs.

Albus lightly ruffled Scorpius' hair, speaking softly. "Don't say that. Nothing is stupid if it makes you upset. Besides, crying has many benefits physically, emotionally, and mentally. I feel like you of all people should know that, right? I mean... you're such a little nerd. When you talk about things that you love, it seems like you forget the world and just talk about what you know, wanting to share your stock of knowledge. I think it's an incredible thing to be able to do. I can't do that because I'm too quiet and I feel like I'm bothering someone if I talk too much. But you know what? It doesn't actually bother anybody, at least not me, when you talk like that. It's one of my favorite things about you. Plus, the fact that you have the courage to spill your feelings in front of people so confidently, like you're doing now... I'm jealous, you know? I've never been able to do that."

This made Scorpius just cry harder.

"Jeez, my robes are gonna get wet again," Albus complained, "but technically, tears aren't water, so does it really count?"

Scorpius let out a quiet giggle. "You're just making an exception for me, right?"

Albus smiled. "Maybe. Nonetheless, it is good to cry sometimes. It leaves you in a better state than you were before. Actually, how long has it been since you last let yourself cry like this? I don't remember this happening often."

Scorpius thought for a moment, tears still trickling out of his puffy, red eyes.

"Three years," he sniffled.

Albus sat there in shock. "Three years? Scorpius, that's not good at all! Are you okay? Actually, no, you obviously aren't okay. There is something wrong with you and I want to fix it because I care about you and I want you to be okay."

Scorpius just nodded. He was crying less harder now, seemingly calming himself down.

"Shit, sorry, have I interrupted something?"

Albus and Scorpius both jumped and looked at the source of the voice.

"Hey, James," Albus said.

James half-smiled. "Hey. Is... uh, is Scorpius okay?"

"He both is and isn't. You see, crying is actually a more positive thing than it is negative, so it is good to cry if you want to cry. The thing is, Scorpius here," Albus ruffled Scorpius' hair, earning a pitiful yelp, "hasn't cried like this in three damn years."

James' face turned into surprise. "Three years? Man, I don't cry often either, but it's not that uncommon."

"It's because I don't let myself cry or express negative emotions. Father and Grandfather taught me that," Scorpius whispered.

Albus growled. "Well, fuc-"

"Shut up, Al, don't traumatize the poor guy!" James exclaimed.

Albus sighed, exasperated. "Well, forget your dad and grandpa. If they tell you not to express basic human emotions, they aren't worth anything in your life, 'kay?"

Scorpius nodded.

"Do you wanna leave?"

Scorpius nodded again.

"Well, let's go then. James, do you have the Cloak on you?"

James nodded. "Yeah, I used it to get here undetected. It's real late, you know. It's almost curfew."

"What?! How?" Scorpius exclaimed, sitting up.

James held up both hands in defense. "Chill, I've got you. Probably don't want anyone to find you. Everybody seems to hate you as is, anyway."

He pulled out the Invisibility Cloak and threw it to Albus. "Good luck."

"But what about you?" asked Scorpius.

James scoffed. "Me? I'll be fine. I'm just as notorious to cause trouble as my dad, and we all know how he turned out. I don't know if anybody even cares, really, as long as I don't kill myself. Now, I really gotta go. See ya!"

And with that, James rushed out of the Room of Requirement, leaving Scorpius and Albus alone.

"Let's go now, shall we?" asked Albus.

Scorpius let out a little smile. "Yeah.";

Albus wrapped the cloak around them both and they ran into the corridor, towards the Slytherin dungeon, having less than a care in the world.

A/N: Hi again! I hope you liked part one of my story! I realize that the title is trash but whatever. What do you think about Scorpius not remembering himself being salty and not sharing his sweets with Albus? See you next episode!
