WAR OF THE WORLDS

Chapter 3

The fact that there was actually another dimension of earth; left everyone shook. And not just of earth the universe! They all wondered what the other world consisted of. Where its inhabitants human like them? Was there another Gotham city? So many questions--which they hoped would be answered later on.

It was a beautiful sunny morning. They had found a landing spot which assured them their safety. They had to maintain a low profile--which also meant them staying inside the jet.

'Well…now that we are here, victor can access this world's databases, right?' Diana suggested; but it came out more of a question.

'Which would make it easier for us to find stark' Clark added. 'Since we have to do this quickly.' He looked at the Martian.

The Martian tensed up. As if that suggestion did not sit right with him; and indeed it did not! It did not have to happen that way. They were not supposed to find out that way. He was so deep in thought that he did not respond.

'Well...that can't happen right now,' victor informed, 'my system is still adjusting to the new environment.'

Upon hearing that, the Martian got out of his trance, his muscles relaxed. That could have ruined everything. Then he came forward and announced that he knew the way. But the problem was that he could not quite remember the directions clearly. But he had some little tricks up his sleeve.

'Upstate new york…near the Hudson river,' he mumbled below his breath continuously. Until the spirals on his face glowed neon red.

Each one just watched;intrigued.

'I'm a man hunter,' he said; facing them.

It appeared to be some kind of a navigational technique.

He moved around the place. Till at one point, the glow changed to a neon- turquoise color.

'We go this way,' he pointed.

Apparently, they had their own living map. Great!

He went to the steering wheel, powered up the engines and they took off on the said direction. The glow was some sort of guide. Whenever they went off track, it would glow neon- red; as an alert signal.

The journey was undeniably difficult.

After some hours of travelling; the light-guide had started blinking continuously which was a signal that they had reached. They had finally arrived at their destination well not at the exact place though, but it was near enough. They decided to land somewhere further off so as to not raise any alarms.

Time was of the essence so they immediately got off the jet. The Martian informed that the place was supposed to be straight up. They followed the direction. He then shape shifted into a man that he had been taking form of--General Swanwick. It was all about keeping a low profile. As they walked, they just looked like a couple of adventurers.

Suddenly, shots were heard from a distance.

Everyone paused and looked at each other.

'What was that…?' Barry asked.

'Look out!' victor shouted.

Two medium-sized circular objects were thrown at them. What were they? They were in a world which they did not know anything about. So all they did was stare and wonder but their question was answered by them bursting, releasing some type of gas which was intoxicating. That caught everyone off-guard. A cloud of the gas hovered around. This led to everyone coughing in hopes of getting the gas out of their systems. After a minute of anguish, it was all clear.

'Oh shit," Arthur said as he looked straight at something.

Everyone stared at the same direction. It was some sort of creature. It was huge and tall! Taller than every one of them. It had three arms one on its back. With horny textured skin which was dark and rough. Long jaws and a soulless look in its eyes. It snarled at them.

'Is that Tony or it is something we should kill,' Bruce asked.

'Definitely something we should kill.' Clark responded.

That battle started somewhat early they guessed. But they did not know if the creatures from their world were like that world's creatures. But they had to fight it either way. So Barry used his super-fast reflexes and sprang towards it and electrocuted it. It dropped to the ground only to get up as fast. Diana threw her lasso at; grabbed its leg and it fell. Clark rushed at it; punching it hard in its face with his super strength. Arthur, with his trident pierced it.

It was dead.

They all gathered around it.

'Well that was easy, 'victor said, 'some us didn't even need to do anything. Sweet!'

'What is this?' Diana asked.

'Another world entity,' the Martian answered, 'we have to hurry.'

Another world? As in another earth? Everything was so damn confusing! But they needed to move. As they walked further, the more audible the sounds of shots, blasts and voices became. What was happening?

They finally reached the place and behold! More of the creatures like a plague set upon the land. With their hero instincts, they instantaneously got into battle. Killing each one that got into their way.

Suddenly, Barry groaned and fell to the ground. Everyone looked. He had an arrow stuck on his forehead. He was being electrocuted! Clark quickly flew over to him and pulled it off. Where did it come from?

Diana looked further up there was a guy; dressed in all- black and carried some arrows on his back.

Bingo.

She walked quickly towards him and threw the lasso; grabbing him.

'What the…' the guy shouted as he was dragged towards this woman.

'Clint!' a voice shouted.

Another guy flew down and grabbed him. Tech wings? What in the world was that?

'Who are these people,' the guy asked. 'I don't know,' Clint answered.

The other friends noticed what was going on and they ran to the rescue.

There was a battle among the three parties. Each group protecting their own.

' Wait, why are they killing off the alien creatures? Are they not supposed to be with them? ' That was a question on the minds of both sides. All the creatures where killed and it was just them remaining. Teams with extreme strengths and super abilities. The battle seemed endless.

Then suddenly the Martian shape shifted into his original form. He had had enough.

He flew up in the air. With his laser eyes, he made a trench between them; startling everybody.

'We are not here to fight,' he shouted. 'We are here for Tony Stark,' the Martian added.

The other team just looked each other in disbelief. Tony? That story was far-fetched.

'Who are you?' Clint asked.

What happens next? Be here! *smiles*
