After Booth and Brennan had tucked in Alex for bed the couple began to clean up the kitchen. Brennan was washing the dishes and Booth was drying them and putting them away. He placed the towel around his shoulder and placed his arms around Brennan's waist, she laughed, and Booth began kissing her neck. Brennan turned around to face him and kissed him. "Slow down Booth, we do have a child sleeping soundly, I hope," she said while wrapping her arms around him as well. Booth just held her close, "That's right, It's hard Bones, to try and keep my hands off of you," he said. She kissed him once more, "I'm okay with letting our friends know about us, only if you are, whatever you decide, I'll support it baby." she said as she nuzzled her face on the crook of his neck. Booth pulled apart from their embrace, "I say we keep it between us, for now, as long as our girl can keep it a secret," he laughed as he pointed down the hall. "I'm gonna get going Bones, I don't want to get too carried away. We gotta keep it PG, baby." he said while he danced towards her and kissed her goodbye. He twirled her around and led her towards her door, "Good night, Booth." she said while kissing him lightly, "Goodnight Bones," he returned the kiss and walked away. Brennan closed the door and held her hands to her chest. She was experiencing pure bliss and had no idea that life could bring such joy. She finished cleaning up and peaked her head into Alex's room, she was sound asleep. So angelic. Once Brennan got into bed, she immediately fell asleep, with a smile on her face. She looked forward to her weekend spending more time with Alex and Booth. She wanted to take Alex to the store to continue to personalize her bedroom, make her feel more at home.

Brennan felt the warmth of the sun coming into her bedroom, she yawned, and felt someone at her side. She smiled, she turned over and Alex was sound asleep next to her. She had tear stained cheeks. Brennan put her arm around the child, breathed her in, and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "It's okay Alex, mama's here," she whispered and closed her eyes. Brennan began to drift into sleep once more with her child in her arms. Until she heard Alex shifting in her sleep. "Alex, it's okay, you're safe." she said as she rubbed Alex's back, Alex woke up crying, Brennans heart broke, "They wanted to take me back, they wouldn't let me stay with you!" Alex wailed as she sat up. Brennan sat up as well and hugged Alex as tightly as she could. She kissed the top of Alex's head three times, "No ones taking you anywhere baby. I promise. Do you believe me?" she asked the very frightened child. Alex clung tightly to her mothers PJ's and looked up to see her mom's blue eyes. "Yes-i do. It felt so real mama. It felt so real." Alex said while shaking. "I want to stay here with you….I love you," she said while attempting to hide the affection she had just revealed. Brennan closed her eyes, stopping the tears from flowing, happy tears. She looked down at Alex and lifted her chin up. "You don't have to hide, honey because I love you too. I love you so much." Alex smiled and stopped crying. Brennan could feel the fear melt away from Alex's body as she hugged her. Brennan wiped the tears away from Alex's face, "Let's get ready for our day." Brennan said. Alex nodded, "We're gonna spend all day together!?" she asked happily. Brennan nodded and Alex jumped up off of the bed and ran to her bedroom. Brennan's cell phone rang, it was her attorney, "Hi Sam, what's the verdict?" she asked nervously.

Alex was in her room, getting an outfit together, when she heard her mother down the hall, "That's fantastic!" and Alex laughed and continued to get ready. The girls were at their local Target, looking at the bedroom section, "I was thinking you can pick out some decorations for your room honey. Find anything you like?" Brennan asks as she puts down a cactus lamp. Alex looked around at the potted plants, the bed frames, the picture frames. She picked up a picture frame, "I like this, maybe we can put a picture of us in it?" she said smiling. "Yes we can." Brennan picked up an identical frame, "let's put these in our cart, we'll get matching pictures for our frames." she said smiling. Alex ran toward twinkling lights, "Mom, can I put these lights around my bed?" she asked. Brennan smiled, "Of course, you can pick anything you like, baby." she smoothed Alex's hair. Alex frowned, "Is it okay for me to do this? I mean..we both don't know if I can permanently stay just yet?" she said, her lip quivering. Brennan wanted to wait to tell Alex the big news, but she could tell Alex needed to know. Brennan walked over to a pink odomen and patted her lap. Alex, confused, walked over to her and scooted onto Brennan's lap. "Mom?" she asked. Brennan kissed the girl's cheek and she began to get emotional. "You want to stay with me, right? And I want you to stay with me, because you are my child and I am your mom, correct?" Brennan asks Alex. Alex responds, "Yes and yes." Brennan chuckled, "My attorney called today, your adoption papers were fully processed and approved." she said while a stray tear ran down her cheek. Alex covered her mouth, in awe. "We just have to pick a date to go to court." Brennan said, smiling wide. Alex jumped off Brennan's lap and hugged her mother tightly. "Really?! I get to stay with you mommy? I get to officially be yours?" she asked. Brennan cupped Alex's face into her hands, "Yes! You'll be legally mine because you're already officially mine," she said while winking. "In that case, I want to take this odomen home!" Alex said.
