Chapter 14
AN: I'm back. I don't know if many still read this story or not, I know a few do but I'm back. Sorry for the vanishing act life knocked me down and kept kicking me. But now I hope I can return. So to celebrate here is a brand new chapter. My writing skills are very rusty so apologise f this chapter isn't as good as the others. Hopefully now I'm getting back in the swing I can do better.
Enjoy
As the huntress shot through hyperspace, a small fleet behind her, A number of nervous looking officers sat in the briefing room. The room was fairly large with a large holo-table in the centre and a horse shoe of seats around it. The room was filled with admirals, star fighter squadron leaders, Ahsoka's acolytes and the commanders of her armoured and infantry units. In the centre of the room stood Ahsoka. All eyes were on her, Sabine was standing to her left watching the room and Katooni, the leader of Ahsoka's elite acolytes was on her right.
Ahsoka surveyed the room, everyone she needed was there. "Let get down to business" she said she hit a button on the holo-table an image of Hoth appeared "This is Hoth and it is here the rebellion has set up its newest base. Thanks to our probe droids we can say without a shadow of doubt this is the location of the rebel base. The rebellion hopes this base will act as the permanent HQ . We're going to destroy it." She said an evil smile on her face. Ahsoka then changed the image to the layout of the base and its defences.
"As you can see it is well fortified and has many obstacles. Least of all is the terrain as a snowy planet the terrain will be more difficult to fight on. However our men are trained to fight pretty much anywhere. The two biggest problems are the shield emitter and the ion cannon. Thankfully I have a solution for both. Two of the probes that landed on Hoth were commander Wrens specials. For those of you who don't know what makes them special, they have cloaking devices and are equipped with high explosives, the probes will be sent to latch onto the shield emitter and the ion cannon. Once the battle begins they will self-destruct, crippler ling both targets. Leaving the rebels at a disadvantage" She said as several icons appeared on the map.
"We will land infantry and speeders supported by AT-ATs and AT-STs. I will lead the attack personally. Our bombers and fighters will attack the shield if it has not been destroyed and then attack the base and its defences. I want as many fighters and bombers as possible converted for cold weather by the time we get there. Thanks to an informant at the base I know that Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Rex, Riyo Chichi and Lux Bontari are all present. They are the only ones I want alive, kill everything else." Ahsoka said spitting the names of her targets as she spoke
"Once the battle has begun the rebels will try to escape the planet. I will pick one of your star destroyers to be bait. This star destroyer will be run mainly by droids and a skeleton crew. That ship will get close enough for the ion cannon to hit it. We will let the first transport escape and then when the rest launch, two thirds of the fleet will come out of hyerspace and engage them, The other third will wait to ambush the reinforcements when they arrive. Any questions?" Ahsoka asked.
One captain stood up looking rather scared "Um forgive me mother Tano but how do we know that the people you want to capture will not escape on the first transport" he asked immediately regretting it.
Ahsoka raised an eyebrow "Good question. The answer is simple. I know Skywalker he won't leave his men he'll fight with them. Luke will stay with him, Chuchi is no coward, lux will fight with the men and Rex is a solider he'll stay and fight." Ahsoka said the captain nodded and sat back down "Anyone else?" she asked surveying the room and looking for the reaction of the officers present. Once she was satisfied that there where no more questions she dismissed everyone but two officers.
Once they where alone she addressed them both personally "Admiral Quinn. I trust the new fighters will be ready for deployment" she said as she started walking the two officer following her
The young human nodded "They are my lady. We just need a good pilot to lead the squad" He said respectfully
"That's why I've kept flight lieutenant Ada behind. She's one of the best" Ahsoak said as she entered a lift and took it to a secondary hanger "These lieutenant are the fighters I want you to lead" she added as the lift doors opened to reveal a squadron of tie defenders
Lieutenant Ada's eyes lit up "You wish for me to command these" she said shock in her voice
"I do, I know you favour bombers but if you can make bomber do what I've seen you make them do. Then I know you'll be more then up for challenge of these new ships. Do not disappoint me" Ahsoka said sternly.
"I won't, Ma'am" Ada said sincerely she was given a great honour and she was happy to live up to it
"Good then I here by promote you to captain" Ahsoka said as she turned to leave. She wanted to make sure Capitan Ada had time to get to know her squadron and her new ship.
All the pieces where in place now and all Ahsoka had t do was wait until they reached their destination. She was looking forward to destroying what rebels she could. She longed for revenge against them for what they did t her student. She remembered fondly the rush killing gave her and she was looking forward to crushing Lux once and for all. He had proved surprisingly resilient, Ahsoka knew he had impressive stamina she had experienced it first hand. But she would never have guessed he was strong enough to survive the attack she launched against him. This time she would make sure her attack left a more permanent solution in its wake.
As she walked her hand rested on her lightsaber and she smiled at the thought of it being buried in her former master. Who knows maybe if she killed Anakin she could drag Luke closer to her side. If he ever fell the combined strength of the Skywalker twins would be unstoppable. Yes she knew this battle would be a good one and she knew she could reshape the galaxy in its wake. All she had to do was wait. Wait for her moment and for the snow to turn red, she always liked red.
