Well, it certainly has been a while since I've last posted a chapter to this. Why did it take me forever to get it out? Mainly because I've been busy with school, work, and a lack of motivation that's prevented me from getting this done. So in order to make up for the long wait for those of you that have been reading this, I'm releasing the rest of the chapters all at once, which I've worked on and off on the last few months. So without further ado, here are the final few chapters of The Calvin and Hobbes Movie. Enjoy!
Chapter 21: Interlude
Calvin grinned as they got closer and closer to the ship.
"That's right, come to Calvin..." He said sinisterly.
"So uh, how do you propose we get into that thing?" Hobbes asked.
"I'm sure there's some sort of door or hatch that we can get into." Calvin replied back.
"But where? This thing is so huge, it'll probably take hours to find!" Hobbes remarked.
"Hobbes, you baffle me sometimes. You do know what we got at our arsenal here right?" Calvin questioned to his best friend.
Before Hobbes could respond, he was cut off by the sounds of a latch opening.
Stupendous Man had found a latch, and was quite literally in front of them.
"With my stupendous strength, that was a piece of cake!" Stupendous Man proclaimed proudly.
"I rest my case." Calvin remarked slyly to Hobbes as the quintet of heroes flew into the Doomsday Ship.
After they all got inside, Stupendous Man closed up the latch again.
"How do you exactly do that?" Tracer Bullet asked to Stupendous Man.
"I'm a superhero, it just comes naturally." Stupendous Man replied as he flexed his muscles, with Bullet simply rolling his eyes.
"Alright men!" Calvin said, getting everyone's attention, "We have now infiltrated our target's base despite all the odds against us!"
"What odds?" Hobbes interjected, "It was pretty much a cakewalk getting into this thing, which is saying something considering this is in space and all..."
"Nobody asked for your opinion Hobbes!" Calvin shot back, "Regardless, we just have two tasks that we have to complete, and victory is ours!"
"Two tasks? Shouldn't there only be one, which would be uh... you know... taking them down?" Spaceman Spiff questioned.
"You do realize we have to find them first right? I'm assuming that's part of the tasks." Tracer Bullet remarked.
"Precisely!" Calvin exclaimed, "Now all we gotta do is figure out where they are hiding..."
But then, sirens starting going off.
"That might be easier said than done." Hobbes remarked.
"Ya think furball?!" Calvin shot back.
INTRUDER DETECTED. INTRUDER DETECTED. ELIMINATING THREAT IMMEDIATELY.
Suddenly, the quintet had lasers being shot at them from all directions.
"Run for it!" Calvin yelled as they all made a run for it.
The five ran throughout the ship, avoiding the lasers being shot at them.
This went on for a while, until the lasers eventually stopped.
UNABLE TO ELIMINATE THREAT. ATTACK SYSTEM TURNING OFF..
"Well that's a relief." Hobbes said relieved.
"Tell me about it." Calvin said in agreement.
"We should've just thrown stuff at them." Stupendous Man chimed in.
The others just rolled their eyes at Stupendous Man's remark and they continued forward.
However, when they took a turn into another hallway, they ran into a familiar face.
It was Cooper.
Cooper looked in disbelief. Obviously what he had seen familiar wasn't a hallucination.
The five were also surprised and taken aback to see Cooper as well.
"You know, this isn't even the most surprising thing I've experienced today..." Cooper remarked with a deadpan expression on his face.
"I would ask how you got on here, but I think there's more important questions to be asked here." Calvin said.
"I think I should be the one asking questions here." Cooper replied.
"You know, in order to clear things up, I think I'll accept that for once." Calvin said back.
But before Cooper could say anything, Spiff grabbed Calvin.
"Are you crazy?!" Spiff whispered into Calvin's ear.
"What? Just trying to prevent this nutjub from chasing me again, that's all." Calvin said, not sure what Spiff was getting at.
"He could be one of that doctor's agents, and could be using anything you say as leverage against all of us!" Spiff warned.
Calvin thought about it, and looked suspiciously at Cooper.
"Look, kid, I know you don't like me, but the FBI really, and I mean really needs to put the pieces to this whole shindig together before things get worse. The last thing we need is this leading to a international scand-"
ZAP!
Spiff shot his Death Ray Blaster at Cooper.
Cooper was speechless at what had just happened, but when Spiff prepared to shoot again, he took off running, screaming like a girl.
"Impressive." Bullet complimented.
"Pretty sure that was unnecessary but I'm not gonna bother arguing at this point." Hobbes remarked as he rolled his eyes.
And so, the group went down the hall, and turned to the right, to see what they had been looking for.
At the end of that hall, there was a door that read, "DO NOT ENTER! AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY! BIG SECRET PROJECT INSIDE!"
"Couldn't have been more obvious!" Calvin said excitedly.
"What gave it away, the sign?" Bullet remarked sarcastically.
"Are you sure we'll be able to get in? That door looks like its made of steel." Hobbes pointed out.
"Easy-peasy. I got this." Calvin said confidently as he backed up to a running start.
"Uh, I don't know about that..." Spiff remarked.
"Can't one of us do it?" Stupendous Man pleaded.
"Hey, I'm the one that got us to this point, so I should be able to do the honors." Calvin retorted, as he cleared his throat, and took off running.
"FOR G.R.O.S.S. INEQUALITY!" Calvin yelled as he ran head on into the door.
And to the shock of absolutely nobody, it didn't work.
"I don't think it takes a Private Eye to figure out that would've never worked..." Bullet remarked as the others surrounded Calvin, laying on the ground dazed.
"Why am I seeing double?" Calvin said wearily as he struggled to get back up.
"He's fine." Hobbes remarked, "Take care of this would ya Spiff?"
"Gladly." Spiff replied as he aimed his Death Ray Blaster at the door, fired, disintegrating the door.
"Huh, guess we should've just done that from the start." Calvin remarked. The others just sighed as they went in.
This room was much bigger from anything else in the ship, a lot darker, with a red complexion around it all.
"This totally doesn't look ominous at all." Calvin remarked as the quintet walked through it.
"Oh, such a sarcastic remark..." A familiar voice remarked.
"Twinky has never been great with words, heh." Another familiar voice remarked.
The five looked ahead to see Moe and Dr. Scientist staring right at them.
"Well, Calvin, I must say, I'm impressed how you've managed to get this far, despite everything that's been thrown at you..." Dr. Scientist remarked.
"Why thank you, just goes to show how you're a miserable failure." Calvin shot back.
"You laugh now boy, but you haven't seen anything yet!" Dr. Scientist cackled.
"He's right twinky! Get ready for the walloping of a lifetime!" Moe said as he cracked his knuckles, before he and Dr. Scientist jumped off a ledge.
The five looked at each other confused, but then, it happened.
A gigantic robot emerged from the ledge. It was sleek and metallic in nature, and probably the height and size of King Kong.
"PREPARE TO MEET YOUR DOOM! AS WELL AS TO WITNESS THE CONQUERING OF THE WORLD UNDER MY GREATEST INVENTION! THE POWER OF MECHALOPNICA IS NOW READY TO BE REVEALED!" Dr. Scientist screeched as he laughed maniacally.
The five looked at each other, and nodded.
The final battle was about to begin.
