This chapter is short because I wanted to start this arc right away. The name "hunger" or "hungry" comes from Sebastian's need, the demon's longing for his master's soul. I promise that things will get hot

Chapter Five - Hunger, part I

Sebastian knocked on his master's office door and waited. A grunt in the form of an "come in" was heard on the other side. He then did as ordered and opened the door.

Ciel made no effort to look up from the document while Sebastian brought the tea cart. He handed him a saucer and cup, followed by a pile of letters addressed to him.

"You can leave." He said without looking up.

The butler just bowed and left quietly. Ciel finally managed to look up, finding his door closed. A week since he and Sebastian had avoided each other. Since the accident in which the count ended up in another reality and was consoled by the butler soon after, the relationship between them had become strange. Then they exchanged words only when necessary.

He took a sip of his tea. He deposited the cup without haste, then decided to look at the mail. The first of the letters was in a white envelope with a red stamp on it. The royal seal.

As the queen's watchdog, her priority was and always would be Queen Victoria herself. Forgetting the others, he hurried to open it:

"My good boy, I hope this letter finds you well. It is with great sadness that I write these lines. I would like to give you good news, however, the current crimes have afflicted my heart in such a way that I can no longer smile.

Men, good men, hardworking and respected people have been killing their wives, mothers and sisters. As I imagine, it is not a simple case. Yard has done its part, but treating crimes as isolated cases. My heart, however, insists on being something more.

I humbly ask you to investigate for me, and do everything in your power to stop these barbarians.

Victoria "

Ciel read and reread the letter. For him, apparently dissatisfied couples found the quickest, though not correct, way to end their marriage contracts. Despite his doubts, as it was a request from the queen, he should at least investigate.

"Sebastian." He called. In moments the butler was ahead of him. "Prepare the carriage. We will go to London immediately."

Sebastian nodded. He left shortly thereafter, without waiting for anything else. Ciel would have a few minutes before his carriage was ready. He even thought about opening the other letters, but decided to keep his focus on his duty.

When Sebastian called, he put the letter in his coat pocket and left. He would go to London. Whatever happened, he would find out. After all, he was Ciel Phantomhive, the queen's watchdog.
