Hello everyone :) I changed chapter two (def would go back and read, Still need to edit it), and here's chapter 3.
Soul Mates
I don't know how you are so familiar to me—or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence.
She sat there, on a black love seat couch; staring at her nails. That was painted a deep gray color. Her nerves were all over the place as she heard her therapist walking over to the chair across from her. Her therapist, Dr. Danielle "Dani" Santino was a kind mid-age woman, with light brunette hair and deep chocolate color eyes. Brooke had started seeing Dr. Danielle a week after the robbery at her clothing store.
"Brooke." She smiles, caring as she crossed her left leg over her right. "This is our eighth session together." She paused as Brooke nodded her head in agreement. "If it's okay with you, I would like to continue where we left off last time."
She bites her bottom lip, out of habit, knowing the topic of today's session would be about her parents.
Seeing that Brooke was already uncomfortable, Dr. Danielle went straight into her first topic. "Tell me about your parents."
It was a loaded question. She had no idea where to start and just thinking of her relationship with her parents, caused Brooke's mind to race with drunken nights as a teenager and an endless amount of money.
"Was there a history of abuse in your family? Growing up, I mean."
"Not unless you consider a high credit-card limit and no supervision abuse."
"Brooke, I know this is a hard topic for you. So how about you tell me the first thing that comes to your mind."
Running the tips of her fingers over her soul mate mark, Brooke closed her eyes, wishing that he was here with her right now. She could use his strength. Her voice was low as she told her therapist, "My parents aren't even soul mates. My father's soul mate is some man who lives in Florida and my mom, she chooses money over her soul mate." A dry laugh escapes through Brooke's lips as she added "Victoria, only mention her soul mate once to me. It was after Lucas had cheated on me with Peyton – she must have felt bad for me or something because she acted like a real mom for an hour."
"What did she do?"
"She told me that she met her soul mate, some Irish man during college. And when her parents found out they made her choose… him or her family inheritance. It broke her heart, to leave him, but I guess the money was too good to give up."
"Are you worried that you will have to choose between your company and your soul mate – when you find him?" Dr. Danielle asked as she watched Brooke avoid her gaze.
The younger brunette could only nod her head.
"Brooke, you are nothing like your mother."
She knew it was true. Brooke knew she was nothing like her mother and never would be like her. "My last few dreams of him…" She paused as she grained control over her emotions that were threatening to show. "He's –"She couldn't finish.
Sensing Brooke's uneasiness, Danielle switched the topic back to Brooke's parents. You mentioned last week something your mother had said to you when turned twenty-one…
Without missing a beat Brooke told Danielle what Victoria had told her own daughter when Brooke was twenty-one. It was after a busy day for the young fashion designer. A day full of meetings and followed by a fashion show that she sat front row at. "She told me that when she was my age, she dreamed of having a clothing line, of having a business. Of all the things I have. But she stupidly fell in love. And one morning, my father and she got a little surprise. She told him she didn't want kids. It was never the plan. But he wanted a son more than anything. And as soon as she got fat, he had an excuse to jump into any bed he wanted. And when they had me, she made sure she would never be pregnant again. If she couldn't have her dream, my father couldn't have his, either. She told me that she probably took it out on me a little too much along the way, but I should be thanking her for giving birth to me."
Her pen stopped as she listened to Brooke. Her heart broke for the young girl sitting across from her. She had been through so much. Danielle remembered the first time Brooke came to her – their first session. The bruises were still fresh and every little noise made her jump. Her body language was screaming at Danielle. Brooke had talked about her attack and her soul mate. She cried to Danielle, telling her that she saw him in her dream and that he gained her bruises and broken bones.
'He's angry, sad, and worried… I feel his emotions mixing with my own. I'm a mess'
That was two months ago.
And over the last two months Danielle had noticed that Brooke avoid any real topic that had to do with her soul mate since their first session. She would talk freely of her friends and their soul mates – though never giving much information about her own.
Was she scared? Or protecting him? Danielle had a hunch that it was a little bit of both.
One thing for sure though Brooke knew more about her soul mate than she was letting on.

It feels good to be awake, knowing others are asleep. It made Brooke feel like the night is not for everyone, just a chosen few. And she was one of them. She always did her best work at night while listening to Peyton's newest playlist that she would send to Brooke. Or she would listen to Haley's old songs.
Tonight, however, Brooke was sitting Indian style on her queen-size bed, wearing one of Lucas's old hoodies, from when they dated. She wasn't working on her upcoming fall collection, in fact, Brooke surfing the web; unable to fall back to sleep.
Charming, California
She was searching for him.
Looking for any clues to who her soul mate might be. She could not – would not believe that her soul mate was just some criminal, but the voice of her soul mate's mother's voice echoed in her head. Brooke had only heard her voice twice in the last two months, but both times she was giving her soul mate advice. Something her own mother did when it came to Clothes over Bros.
"Clay Morrow killed your father, stole that seat away from this family, gunned down your father's best friend and he tried to kill the mother of your son. What do you think he's going to do to your soul mate when she shows up? He's a murderous traitor and there's only one thing to do now, Jackson... for your father, your family, and your club. It's in you. It's who you are. Clay has to die. Read 'em. See 'em in your father's own hand and then you kill him, Jax. You kill Clay before he's on his feet and strikes first. And when it's done? You take your place at the head of this table where a Teller belongs. Where you belong."
