Ross kept pacing the lounge right outside the delivery room when Joey and Phoebe came with Daniel.

Is Chandler here already? Joey asked.

Not yet. You know how traffic is at this time of day. Ross replied.

Tell me about it. It took us twice the time to get here. Phoebe agreeing with Ross.

What are you doing here with Daniel? You're supposed to wait for my mom and dad at the apartment.

Oh, we got a call from Jack and Judy and they suggested that we meet here. Phoebe explained.

Did you tell them Chandler is not here?

Well, they sort of found out on their own.

How?

Well, they said they received a voice message from a panicked Chandler but the message got cut off. They're surprised you didn't tell them when you called… How's Monica?

Well, she's been in labor for hours. Oh, it's so hard seeing her in pain.

But you have seen her in pain when she gave birth with this cute little boy! Phoebe said as she looked at Daniel who was sleeping in his stroller.

I know. I guess it's different now because I was the only one with her in the room. I got to really look at her and talk to her, you know, have a sense of what's really going on in her head. And I must admit, I'm really jealous of Chandler but proud of the two of them at the same time.

Jealous? What do you mean?

Oh, I don't know. I mean I've seen how happy and in love they are with each other but you know, to have someone need you like that? I mean we all know my sister, how strong and independent she is but when I was with her alone in the room earlier? It was like Chandler was all she needed… It must've been a great feeling having the woman that you love need you like that.

Is the husband of Mrs. Bing here? Dr. Connely asked as he surveyed the lounge still wearing his scrubs.

Not yet. Ross approached him, together with Joey. I'm his brother. Is there any problem? he asked nervously.

It's not really a problem. It's just that Monica is having a hard time delivering his boy. We will try a few more times to deliver the baby normally but we'd like her husband to sign a consent form in case we need to do a C-section.

Is she gonna be alright, doctor? Ross begging for an assurance.

We'll do our best. Look, please press that bell by the Delivery Room door once Chandler arrives. Dr. Connely tapped Ross' shoulder before heading back to the room.

Jack and Judy arrived a few minutes later, followed by Rachel. Everyone was getting worried that they can not sit still or stay in place for long.

Dr. Connely went out of the DR one more time to inform Monica's family and friends that they are moving her to the Operating Room to do a C-section located at the 2nd floor of the hospital. It was Jack who signed the consent form.

Everyone transferred to the lounge right outside the OR. No one among the friends was in the mood to speak. It was the first time that one of them is undergoing an operation like that. Jack and Judy, on the other hand, decided to stay until Monica has given birth.

Everyone was wondering why Chandler still has not come. His plane was expected to arrive hours ago and even if traffic was bad, he should be at the hospital ahead of Jack and Judy, and Rachel.

Then the door to the OR opened. Everyone was holding their breath as they see a doctor walking towards them. But when he removed his mask, it was Chandler!

Chandler?! everyone exclaimed not knowing whether to be mad that it took him so long to get to the hospital, or happy that he didn't miss the birth of his second son. Mostly, the feeling was relief seeing the look of joy on Chandler's face.

How is she and the baby? everyone was waiting for an answer.

She's fine and the baby is fine, too. he said not being able to hide his smile.

Daddy! Daniel called upon seeing his father.

Chandler took Daniel and gave him a kiss. Oh, hi buddy! You are officially a big brother. he said giving Daniel another kiss before giving him back to Judy.

Look, I have to go back there before they bring Monica to Recovery. I'll see you later.

Jack and Judy left the hospital with Daniel as it was already getting late in the evening while the friends stayed at Monica's hospital room waiting for Chandler.

Hey! Chandler said as he opened the door.

Hey! Everyone replied.

Thank you, thank you for staying with Monica, you guys. And of course, Phoebe, Joey, thanks for looking after Daniel. Chandler said taking a seat on the bed as he sipped his coffee he got from the vending machine.

How come we didn't see you come in? We were right outside the OR! Rachel asked him.

I went straight to the OR soon as I learned from the lobby that she's having a C-section. But guess what? The baby crowned before she had her anaesthesia shot so we're good. Everything went easy after that.

I think my sister just waited for you to come, Chandler.

I don't know if I can forgive myself if she did this alone. I mean, I am never ever going to leave her again next time.

Ahhhm, next time?…. Hello, Chandler? She just gave birth and you're thinking of having another one? Rachel said.

Ross was able to take a good look at Chandler's face as well. He has noticed how Chandler had changed a lot in the last few years. He is no longer the Chandler that he knew back in college - the immature, insecure Chandler is long gone. He must admit that when he learned of his sister's relationship with Chandler, he was scared, even skeptical that it would work. To some extent, he thought the pairing was odd. Monica had this dream of a family with a man, mature and sure of himself while Chandler, probably didn't need a woman who is a perfectionist, had everything planned out since they were very young.

It was not supposed to work. In fact, what was supposed to work was his and Rachel's relationship. The spark was there right at the beginning. Their personalities complement each other and they were in love from the start. However, he never felt like Rachel needed her and when she accepted Joey's non-proposal, it just meant that it wasn't him that she needed, that anyone can just fill-in whatever it was that she was looking for.

That was why Ross felt jealous. He felt that Monica needed no one but Chandler. No matter how many persons are there, it will always be incomplete without Chandler.

And now that he is looking at Chandler, he is seeing the same need. Ross wonders whether he has felt the same need for someone. Chandler's need to be with Monica has made him overcome his fears and embrace commitment. And Monica changed, too. She is more compromising, more understanding, more loving, more spontaneous.

Ross darted his eyes at Rachel. He still loves her. He would deny it at times, but he knew he still is in love with her but being in love sometimes isn't enough. Maybe he needs to get to a place where he needs to be with her. Chandler and Monica reached that place where they need each other, the kind of need that can only be filled by each other. It's like needing air and water. Chandler and Monica can not survive without each other and Ross could not help but be jealous about that.
