Chapter Sixteen
The following night, the turtles and Mona stood before the entrance of the lair, all decked out and armed to begin their mission at the Central Park Zoo.
Standing nearby, Pandora and Kemeko stood with Splinter, both were dressed in ninja suits ready to begin their harsh training as part of their punishment.
"Okay, we know the plan." Leonardo said as he looked at his brothers and adopted sister.
"And we know where we stand." Mona replied, flicking open her fans and giving them a spin before closing them and putting them in her belt.
"I can't wait to jump those guys!" Michelangelo grinned "it's gonna be hilarious!"
"Just be safe my children." Splinter said in a serious but soft voice "Those thieves may not be Foot Ninja or the Venomous Five, but you never know what they might have."
"Well, the Purple Dragons use guns, which is more dangerous than swords." Donatello piped up "Bullets are more difficult to dodge than blades!"
"No shit." Raphael agreed.
"Stay safe mum, dad." Pandora said.
"And you too daddy!" Kemeko added.
"Thanks kids." Leonardo said before walking over, followed by the others to hug the girls.
Pandora hugged her parents to which they hugged her back but they both gave her a look that meant she was still under punishment to which Pandora nodded in agreement, as she knew as soon as they were gone, she was at the mercy of Granddad Splinter.
Leonardo gave Kemeko the same look as he kissed her forehead and Kemeko too knew Splinter was going to make sure they kept to their sentence to their crimes.
"Be good girls." Donatello said, "We'll be back soon."
Michelangelo winked.
"Wish us luck!" he called.
"Good luck!" the girls and Splinter called to the four turtles and lizard as they turned and left the lair.
No sooner were the grown-ups gone than Splinter looked down at the girls.
"Okay girls." He said, "Time to begin your training."
"Yes granddad." The girls said together with a slight sigh as they went to the dojo area.
Meanwhile, the turtles and Mona went through the sewers until they got to the manhole, they knew lead to the zoo.
"Okay guys." Leonardo said looking up at the lid of the manhole at the top of the rungs "We stick to the shadows, be wary of cameras and any night guards."
The other mutants nodded then Leonardo stepped aside.
"Ladies first." He said politely to Monalisa who nodded at him with a smile in thanks before starting to climb up the rungs, he then followed behind her, followed by Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo respectively.
Mona pushed the lid off the sewer and looked around.
"Do you see anything?" Leonardo called up.
"We're right in the middle of the zoo!" Mona called down "Just like you said we would end up!"
She climbed out of the sewer and looked around placing her hand on her belt to take out her weapon if needed, but so far, there was nothing, except several cages with some sleeping animals within.
Leonardo and the other turtles soon appeared from the manhole and looked around.
"Okay, coast is clear for now." Leonardo said then looked at the map.
"Okay, this says the thieves will be coming in these areas, Mona, Raph, you go to the East area, Donnie, you go here with Mikey, and I'll take this spot."
"Got it Fearless." Raphael agreed, and Mona just nodded.
"Keep in touch via Shell-cell," Leonardo went on "And we'll text each other when the goons come in, then we follow them to their destination from the shadows, and ambush them!"
"Brilliant plan!" Michelangelo said gripping his nun-chucks.
"Okay, lets move!" Donatello agreed then all the mutants went off in different directions to their assigned points.
Back in the lair, Splinter watched the girls as they did many different exercises that included sit-ups, press-ups, squat thrusts, and many more.
Sweat dripped down their foreheads and they panted as they continued.
"Come on girls!" Splinter barked "Keep at it for another 30 seconds!"
Pandora grunted but she kept going.
She was getting tired and her mouth felt dry but she kept going.
Kemeko felt the same as she kept on going.
"5…4…3...2...1!" Splinter called out "And rest!"
The girls collapsed on the floor panting and sweating.
"Very good!" Splinter praised "Now get some water and we will begin again in 2 minutes!"
Both girls sighed but they agreed and quickly grabbed their bottles of water.
"My legs are killing me!" Kemeko sighed.
"Join the club!" Pandora hissed back "But let's at least make the best of it, we need to keep up the cardio if we are gonna be ninjas!"
Kemeko agreed.
"It's better than just sitting in our rooms with no TV or Ipads." She said, "I'd much rather be doing this!"
Pandora nodded in agreement as she took another sip of water.
Splinter then clapped his hands bringing the girls back to attention.
"Rest is over!" he said, "Now 10 laps around the lair, and lift those feet!"
"Yes grandpa!" the girls chorused and jumped up to begin jogging.
As the old rat watched his grandchildren, Splinter couldn't help the small smile creep to his lips as memories of his sons doing workouts like this when he punished them for being naughty or disobedient.
"Ah such nostalgia." He said to himself as he continued to watch the girls "And the girls are accepting their punishment well, let's just hope they're thinking about their actions, which I do not doubt."
Back at the zoo, Mona and Raphael were hiding at a fire escape where it had said on the map that one of the goons would come in.
Raphael looked across to his mate.
"I wonder how Pandora's getting on?" he asked.
"I'm sure she's fine." Mona whispered, "I don't think we were too hard on her, she needs to learn there are consequences to her actions if she breaks the rules."
Raphael nodded in agreement.
"I didn't like punishing her at all." He said, "Even when she was naughty as a toddler, and I had to put her in time out, I didn't like it."
"Neither did I, hun." Mona agreed "But she's got to learn boundaries, and she'll grow up thanking us for teaching her right and wrong."
"True." Raphael smiled "But still, I don't want her to grow up too fast, she's still my princess."
"She's our little gem." Mona smiled kissing her mate's cheek affectionately making Raphael blush.
"You know babe." Raphael smirked as he looked around the darkened room "If we weren't waiting for some thieving morons, we could get up to some…you know…fun?"
Monalisa giggled and poked Raphael's ribs.
"You horny dog!" she said in mock shock but she eyed him seductively "I love it!"
"Can you blame me?" Raphael purred "You're so sexy!"
"And you're a hot stud!" Mona whispered.
A vibration from their shell-cells made them jump slightly and they both looked down to see that Donatello had texted saying one of the goons had come in where he was hiding.
Mona and Raphael knew that if that was the case, someone would arrive where they were soon, so they hid more in the shadows and held their breath waiting.
It wasn't long before two men appeared through the door after someone fiddled with the lock.
Raphael nodded at Mona who sent her text message from her shell cell, and making sure they stayed behind then men, the couple began to silently creep behind them, following them to where they were to find their prizes.
So the turtles and Monalisa has gone to stop the thieves at the zoo, whilst Splinter is overseeing the girls hard at work at their punishment.
Pandora and Kemeko are at least making the best of their cardio workout mainly because of their future as ninjas, and I have to admit, doing hard exercise instead of sitting in my room as a punishment would suit me fine!
