Chapter 8: Doom
After another heavy day of training, Bulma invited everyone to Capsule Corp. I wonder why. Goku instant brought us over and that's when I saw him again. I couldn't believe my eyes. It's been almost 13 years since that event long ago.
Before my eyes, I witness him blindly attack Goku before Vegeta had to pull him back. After everyone had calmed down, I walked over to him. "Long time no see, Trunks." He looked at me before smiling.
"It's nice to see you again, Mrs. Chichi." He then stood up and we shared a quick hug. "I do apologize for my reaction to Goku." Before long he went about explaining what was going on in his time. Something about a monster who looks just like my dear husband. But that being felt off and was pure evil. "He has been causing destruction throughout Earth. And just when we finally were recovering from the androids." He then looked at me. "I found out you were still alive and with your help we improved so much."
He then pulled out a notepad from inside his pocket and handed it to me. When I opened it, I was surprised to find out this was written by another version of myself. Then I gave it to Bulma and after she read a few pages she had a shocked expression. "Wow! We came up with a better system for tech." We soon spoke about why Trunks had returned to this timeline.
"I need your help again. Evil Son-Ku is just too much for me to handle. And mother believes there might be answers in this timeline. Especially since we did all we could on our end."
…
After Trunks finished explaining what has happened in the future there was a strong force forming in the sky. When we looked up, we could see a black ball slowly growing until it popped, and a person was in its place. To our shock and Trunks' horror, the person that we saw was someone who looked exactly like myself but was wearing a black and gray gi. Not to mention the ki that he was releasing felt pure evil. "So, this is where you ran off to. And here I thought I had to hunt you down. Instead, you brought me here."
He let out this loud maniacal laugh while he charged a ki blast in our direction. But before he could release it, he vanished. We looked to Trunks and the fear that ran across his face was troubling. I looked to Vegeta, and he nodded his head at me. Just before we could ask Trunks how we could help is when Whis and the boys decided to show up. "I know I felt a disturbance, but we just missed it." Then he and Beerus walked over to Future Trunks.
"You don't belong here." Beerus raised his hand, but before he could do anything I got in the way. "Move."
"At least hear us out."
"Him being here is disturbing the flow of time and existence. Either I kill him, or it'll be on your hands that this dimension disappears." I didn't move and just continued to stare him down. Beerus put down his hand and sighed. "Pathic."
It took the rest of the afternoon to explain to Gohan and the boys what was going on. Afterward, we tried to figure a plan of action. But Whis and Beerus kept asking Future Trunks exactly everything he knew about Evil Son-Ku. "He just appeared out of nowhere one day. Then he went about talking how all morals should perish for their sinful existence." The way Beerus looked at Whis was strange. "There was one other thing." We looked to Future Trunks pulled out a small dragon ball. Which was a shock to all of us. "With Chichi's in my time help, we were able to scrap up a spaceship from the saved space pod. Then we even decode the language and found a way to find the Namekians." He had a large smile. "I found Dende and told him about this timeline and I was grateful he agreed to come to earth. We had gotten dragon balls again. And when Evil Son-Ku came he had demand we handed him the dragon ball."
"Why did you bring that here?" Bulma picked up the small orb and looked back to the notepad she held. "From these notes, it seems there is only one dragon ball. Why is that?"
"It was the only thing Dende was able to create since it was from scratch. And since I brought it here it should buy me some time before that bastard destroys Earth."
That night everyone was on edge. How were we supposed to defeat this enemy?
…
After Future Trunks explained everything, I couldn't help wanting to help. Even though he came here to request for dad and Vegeta, I wish I could do something. The next day we gathered back at Capsule Corp, and it was shocking to see that dad and Vegeta weren't in their fighting gi. It was even more of a surprise when dad smiled at me. "You think you can handle a little time travel?"
As I and Future Trunks got ready to leave, I couldn't help feeling somewhat nervous. I looked up to dad and he was smiling in my direction as he walked over. "Are you sure I can do this?" He patted my back and gave off his happy chuckle.
"You are Gohan? I'm absolutely positive you can do this." With those last words of encouragement, I left for the future. What I saw was nothing as I imagined. Our surrounding was a barren wasteland of an old city. And the skies were filled with the dark clouds of smoke. The very air was difficult to breathe in.
"You can thank the androids for the toxic air. It's been years but humans still have to wear a gas mask to survive." He then led me to the entrance to an underground base. Inside I was impressed by how different it was compared to the surface. "Mom! Mrs. Chichi!"
Before long two females had turned the corner and I couldn't believe my eyes. I knew that everyone I knew would be much older in this time, but I didn't expect this. "Mom?" The tears that fell from those dull eyes broke my heart. She was a small shell of the woman I knew as my mother.
Watching her slowly walk up to me was painful. Yet I didn't know what to do. Do I meet her halfway and give her a hug or let her come to me? Even though I'm not the son she lost but she was somehow my mother. The moment she was fully in front of me I couldn't believe how much shorter she was. "Gohan? Is that really you?" She grabbed my left arm and gave it a light squeeze before stepping back.
"Yes, but from a different timeline." She looked ready to break down but quickly had that warrior expression I grew with.
"I assume Trunks explain everything. Did he share with you everything we learned about that wannabee Goku?" I nodded and she held a smirk. "Good. I don't have to repeat myself." She then walked over to where Bulma and Trunks were. "We need to act fast or we miss our chance." That's when she opened a large crate and pulled out an armor suit. It looked so similar to Vegeta's old one but was different. "It took Bulma a while to create an infused sayian armor. You're going to need every advantage you can get."
"It also stores senzu beans. Now, that was a hassle to recreate without the help of Korin. So, use them wisely." I watch as Bulma pulled out a few things from a different crate. "As much as we tried to fight this guy, nothing we did was enough. Not even my baby was able to scratch that imposer." She looked to Trunks. "Sorry, sweety."
"It's ok mom." Trunks then looked at me. "I hope this will be enough for you." I simply nodded and we started making plans how we should take this guy down.
