A/N (Do people even still do these?): Hey all, this story is the first fan fiction I wrote since 2015. About a 6-year time gap. This idea has been in my head for a while now after watching Ame and Gura's A Way Out playthrough. If you're interested in a full AmeSame story full of fluff and some lemons strewn about let me know. If there's enough interest I'll write the story up, but for now this is just a test story. This story takes place directly after the end of the second stream of A Way Out. There are spoilers to the game in this story so be warned.

Spoiler Warning: A Way Out's ending

"Byeeeeee!"

"Byeee-hahaaa!"

Gura took a deep breath while waiting for Amelia to finish up the stream. This stream was more draining than a normal stream. Amelia had to stream to Gura's channel because Gura's computer was having issues. To add on, the end scene with Vincent and Leo put stress on her emotionally. Gura was able to put on a brave face and joke around until the stream ended but she still couldn't get Amelia's cries out of her head. Gura could still hear the saddened screams of Amelia.

"Why Gura, I thought we were brothers!"

The sounds of Amelia got louder and louder in her head.

"Gura!"

Gura jumped in panic, not having realized that she had zoned out. The stream was already over and Amelia was trying to get her attention.

"Gura? Hello? You there?"
"Yeah! Yeah, I'm still here, sorry 'bout that."

"Glad to have you back. Did you have fun?"

"Any stream with you is a fun stream my dear Watson."

Amelia giggled, "Well I'm glad you had fun. I have to go soon to prepare for my next stream-" there was a loud bark in the background, "-and I guess I have to walk Bubba too."

Gura was about to make a witty remark, but Ame's pained cries resounded in her head again. Gura didn't want to be left alone with these thoughts.

"Hey, Ame? Do you think we can talk a little before you go?" Gura's voice was soft and small. There was a pause that felt all too long for Gura, making her feel nervous with each passing moment. As soon as Gura opened her mouth to say something to try and play it off, Amelia responded.

"Sorry about pretending you killed me. I thought it would be cute to tease you, but I didn't think you would be this down about it."

"N-no, it was good! I mean, the audience loved it I'm sure- "

"But you didn't." Gura gulped at Amelia's response. She was right on the mark.

"I-I thought it was a bit funny…"

"Guraaaa. You can talk to me ya know."

"I know, I know, it's just that… that…" Gura took a minute to gather her thoughts, not wanting to say something that would make Amelia feel bad or force her to feel she had to walk on eggshells around Gura.

"I'll be honest Watson, I was trying my best to hold myself together. When I shot you, the you in game that is, I immediately felt bad. I really felt like I just shot you. Then you started fake crying. I knew you were messing around, but the way you called to me with that voice…" Gura paused for a moment, feeling the tears from earlier returning to her eyes. Gura tried her best to not break down crying. "I wanted so badly not to associate you with Vincent. You mean so much to me that it hurt to imagine doing that to you…" Gura could feel wetness roll down her cheek, even with all her willpower, it wasn't enough to stop herself from crying. Gura opens her mouth to keep talking but the only thing that came out of her was the beginning of her next sentence before her voice wavered, forcing Gura to stop. Gura was glad that her webcam was off because she wasn't in any condition to be seen.

A long silence followed, painfully long. Gura was starting to feel that she made a mistake making a big deal about this, but she didn't have the willpower to form a joke to play everything off.

The silence was finally broken by Amelia clearing her throat, "I mean that much to you?"

Gura felt her cheeks start to redden, extremely glad that her webcam wasn't on. "I-Is that the only thing you got from that?" Gura sniffled as she laughed a little. She wiped her face, the tears stopped flowing for now.

Amelia sounded a bit more at ease hearing Gura laugh "I just didn't know what to say. I didn't know you thought so highly of me that even the thought of killing me made you cry. It's actually…really cute." Gura was increasingly glad that her webcam wasn't on. Amelia realized how forward what she said was. "A-Ah, I didn't mean it like that! I mean of course you're cute. What I meant to say was, that you um, you-" Amelia's sentence was cut off by a hiccup. Gura found it extremely cute and reassuring to see Amelia act this flustered. Amelia took a deep breath and continued, "What I meant to say was sorry. It was wrong of me to make you feel this way. You also mean a lot to me, which is why I like to tease you. I feel comfortable around you."

It was Amelia's turn to wait for a response now. After a moment, she heard a lot sniffling. "Gura? Are you crying again? Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

"N-no it's j-just…" Gura tried to steady her voice, "I really couldn't have asked for a better gemmate than you." Gura wiped some tears away from her face.

"Awww Gura, you're gonna make me cry too if you say stuff like that!" Amelia could feel her eyes watering up as well now.

Gura let out a little laugh, starting to feel a bit better. "Maybe that was my goal all along dummy."

Amelia giggled herself, "How about to make up for all this, I'll send you a nice care package. An apology package of sorts."

"Really?!" Gura voice sounded a lot more cheerful now.

"Your cuteness has caused enough heart attacks to earn you this killstreak, so call it in whenever."

Gura groaned at Amelia, "God, that was so corny, I think it even beat Iowa in corn."

Amelia and Gura laughed together, the mood finally much lighter now. Gura felt a lot better than before, and her connection with Amelia felt deeper compared to before the stream.

As they stopped laughing, Gura spoke up again, "Hey Ame, do you think we can talk a bit before we go to sleep tonight?"

"Oh? Already wanting to get into bed with me?" Amelia couldn't help but tease Gura again.

"Nooooo! I-I just… want to hear your voice before I go to sleep tonight…"
Amelia was stunned, there's no way this shark could be this cute.

"…Ok, fine. I can't resist when you make me swoon like that."

Gura felt accomplished now, "Wait 'til you see what else I have up my sleeve."

The conversation was interrupted by another loud bark.

"Ah, I really should take Bubba out now. I'll be going now."

"Wait!" Gura blurted out almost too quickly.

"Hm? What's up?"

"I… thanks for today. I'll see you tonight." Gura hung up the call, unable to say what she really meant to say.
