Note: Thank you to all who have stuck with this fic since I started writing this in November! Season 12 hasn't been easy to get through, but thankfully it's over now. And pending on if nothing goes wrong this summer, we might get Hetty info we've all been waiting for!

Enjoy this last chapter!

Date: Mid May.

Wish I could say I'm at home now with a glass of whiskey, but I'm not. I'm on a plane heading to who knows where.

There's 1 last thing I need to do before this mission can be completed, not about to say what it is yet, or how long it'll take to complete, but I'm confident I'm close to the end here.

I heard my temporally substitute had a big decision to make, so I knew I had to return to work. She decided to leave to go to Japan with her boyfriend.

The real reason I left her in my position, wasn't just because I needed someone I knew would take care of my team, but because I wanted her to see that she has what it takes to be a leader.

After I told her that, I gave her a brooch, which also doubles as a weapon, and we hugged. Which was really sweet because it's been quite a while since anyone on my team has hugged me. (sniff).

It's a very good thing I showed up when I did, otherwise, I would've lost my office. The person who knew where I was on the mission? He tried to take my things! I gave him a very stern lecture on assuming what my next move is going to be, respecting my stuff, and told him that if he tried to mess with my things or my team again, that I might feel tempted to use one of my 'replicas' (as he called them) on him!

I stayed at work for a bit so I could personally make sure he put my things back in their right places. After that, I left a note on my desk for my team, saying I would be back soon, and I left.

How long will I be gone for this time? I never know. Will I eventually tell my team what I'm really up to? Maybe.

There's 1 thing I'm glad I did before I left again: I checked my whiskey stash, which thankfully wasn't completely drained! I made sure to grab the good stuff so I don't get stuck with the cheap stuff again!

Until next time…

Endnote: I wish we could've got to see what Hetty really said to Kilbride
