Leon found D within 8 months. He would have sooner but Leon had been convinced D would come back. He had waited patiently until he realized D had left for real and it wasn't some elaborate trick.

He knocked- kicked down the door- politely. And then they sat down and had tea in awkward silence. Well, they sat in awkward silence for about five minutes until Leon lost his cool and started yelling at
D for leaving. Then D sat in exasperated silence.

They shared a sweet moment and Leon thought D would return with him.

And then the incense finally took hold. When he woke up, D was gone.

He re-found D in 3 months.

He couldn't even get a word out before D turned into a bird and flew through the shop window. When Leon ran outside to catch him, the shop disappeared while his back was turned.

It took Leon three weeks before he found him again, but being so sleep deprived, he wasn't sure he wasn't hallucinating. D put him to bed and with one final longing look, he ran.

So it continued on until it only took Leon a week at most to find him, and on one memorable occasion, an hour.

There was also that time Leon used chocolate as bait. The fact that it worked is something D will deny to his grave. Which is what Leon is likely going to drive him towards if he keeps up with his shenanigans. An early one at that.

His grandfather wasn't sympathetic in the least when D finally broke and told him.

"You should have just killed him and be done with it, and now, you suffer the consequences. Give humanity a hold and it will destroy you. We do this noble work with reason."

D just sighed and said: "Of course, grandfather," Whilst not agreeing in the least.

He did not know what to do, however. The petshop's business was suffering. He could not settle in one place for long, as Leon would find him and he would be forced to flee.

Little did he know, Grandfather D had gotten tired of his grandson's mournful, pining sighs and sad looks and thus decided to take matters into his own hands.

So, he decided to lay a trap for his grandson's unfortunate stalker. It would be the end of Leon Orcot and then D would be able to once again focus on what is important:

The work of freeing the world of the pest of humanity.

He was not prepared for Leon Orcot.

Leon walked into his trap beautifully, stayed under its thrall for about five minutes, and then barreled through without a care, a scowl on his face and angry words upon his lips. The eldest was not dissuaded, however. He waited for him, ready to end everything once and for all.

And then Leon started shouting at him.

To summarise a truly disastrous event, Sofu attacked, Leon pulled his gun and shot.

Sofu clawed at his chest, managing to wound him in what would assuredly translate to scars later, and then Leon punched him.

Sofu threw him against a wall and Leon crashed a crane into him.

It was safe to say that Leon came out the other side better than Sofu did.

The good news was that Leon stopped harassing D as much.

The bad news was that he now had Sofu's scent and was harassing him instead.

Leon split his time between harassing the D family.

Sofu didn't like him much at the start but after a while, they started to grow used to each other.

One could even say he grew fond of Leon, as impossible as it was.
