"Where did mom and dad go?"

"To get breakfast." Lexi said, setting her switch down. She walked over to the window were they saw Bobby kicking a ball around. "Isn't that Bobby?" she asked, pointing out the window. "Yeah." I replied. "But Carly told me to stay away from him and his family." Lexi turned to me. "Why?"

"Because she said that they're hunters. They hunt all animals. Like bears, and deers, and whatever else." I said. It started to cloud up outside, and snow slowly began to fall out of the sky. Me and Lexi watched as Bobby picked up his ball and ran inside. He never came back out. I walked away and sat on the carpet, board. A knock was heard at the door. I got up and peeked through the small hole and gasped. It was Carly. "Who is it?" Lexi questioned walking up to me. I didn't reply and opened the door. Carly stood there wearing a cute furry wolf jacket. She flipped her hood back to reveal her brown hair and doe ears.

"It's your crush, Brian." Lexi teased. I rolled my eyes and walked her over to the corner of the living room. Carly sat next to me. She looked around confused. "Uh, were is all your stuff at?" She questioned. "On the way from Colorado." Lexi told her. The wind howled outside with the snow glistening and blowing in the wind. It was like a huge blizzard out there. Me and Carly sighed as we thought of something to do.

"Do you own a Nintendo switch?" I asked. Carly nodded. "Yeah. But it's dead. It's charging right now." I heard tires skidding up the driveway. "Mom and dad are back." Said Lexi, as she opened the door to help them. I got up and followed. Mom and dad stood outside the truck, I grabbed one of the bags and walked my way back inside. I the bag on the floor and reached in, pulling out a blueberry filled salad with nuts. I walked back over to Carly and sat down and began to eat. I looked over at Carly. "Did you already eat breakfast?"

"Oh. I forgot. I'm gonna head home to eat and shower. See ya." She said as she left.

"Who was that?" Dad asked me. "Oh, that's Carly. She's a doe who lives next door to the kid across from us." I replied with a mouth full. Dad nodded.

"And Brian likes her." Lexi told dad. I grunted and finished eating my salad, and placed it on the table. When I was walking back to where I was sitting, I saw Bobby and his family pull up in the driveway. I watched as Bobby hoped out first, then his dad. They walked to the trunk and pulled out a ice cooler. "What the...?" I spoke in my mind. Lexi walked over next to me. "Waiting for Carly?" she said, bumping me. "No. I was watching Bobby and his dad carry an ice chest inside." I said.

"Oh." Lexi said, as she walked away. I desperately wanted to go over there. But Carly told me not to. An hour went by. I was sitting on the floor with my Pink Floyd blanket wrapped around me, as I was playing my game. A knock was heard. Dad got up. I yelled "Dad, don't!" I covered myself. I heard the door creak open. "Hello." Carly said.

"Hello to you. So you're our new neighbor." Dad said. "Yes I am!" Carly said, "May I come in. It's freezing out there. I don't think my deer fur can warm me up completely."

"Of course." Dad said. I heard her footsteps. She lifted my blanket off. I looked up at her. She wore a T-shirt with pinkie pie all over it, along with her blue jeans and pink high-top converse. She sat next to me. "So what do you wanna do?" she asked me. Before I could say anything another knock was heard.

Chapter 10

"That's probably your dads friends with our stuff." Mom said, getting up to answer the door. She opened it, a man with a dolly and box's on top came in. He rolled by and into one of the rooms. I got up and followed, walking into the same room as he did. I looked over at the boxes that had my name on it. "Uh, I think this stuff is supposed to go upstairs." I told the man. "Cause that's were my room is."

The man nodded as he wheeled the stuff out. I walked out into the living room. Nobody was there. I walked outside and noticed everyone unloading. My dad and his friend were carrying out the couch, Lexi was carrying a box with my trophies and medals in it, and mom was carrying a box of her stuff. I looked around. "Where did Carly go?" I walked inside the dusty moving truck and saw her struggling to carry a dresser. "I got that." I said, picking up the other side. We both slowly carried it out and into the house. "Where do you want this?" Carly asked.

"Let's just set it over here. It's the living room table." I replied. We both sat in the corner next to the closet, then walked back to the truck. I saw Bobby again, he was dribbling a basketball, while charging around. Carly looked at me. "No, Brian. I told you, stay away from him!" she struggled, carrying a box. I grabbed one side helped her carry it in. We both walked back out.

Mom and dad followed. They walked back in the truck and began to unload the mattresses. My dad's friend unloaded the frames. And another unloaded a few more boxes. Once they cleared I looked back in the truck. It was empty. "They must've left the dining room table and chairs. Maybe they're gonna get it next." I said. Another moving truck pulled up. My mom's friends.

They stepped out wand walked to the back of the truck and lifted up the door. Revealing the rest of our furniture. Like lamps, and our dining room table and chairs and televisions.

Chapter 11

Once everything was unloaded and moved, I walked in my room and collapsed from exhaustion on the bed. Lexi walked in and handed me a bottle of water, with Carly standing right behind. "How do you like Vermont so far?" Lexi asked, handing me the bottle. I took a sip. "Pretty cool. Beautiful." I replied. I got up and began unpacking a few boxes of mine. Like my books and stuff, setting them up on my bookshelf. It's a good thing my dads friend put my goosebumps books in order. One through sixty-two. I looked in another box that had my trophies and medals inside. I took the medals and hung them on the wall, and took the trophies and carefully placed them on top of my bookshelf. Carly grabbed one. "For being the friendliest furry to all. Brian." She read.

She handed it to me. "That's really cool."

"Thanks. I won it last year." I said, putting it up. Me, Lexi and Carly all unpacked the rest of my stuff. Once we were done, my mom came in my room. "Well I got off the phone with the doctors office. They scheduled you to come in Friday." Carly turned to her. "With who?"

"Dr. Jason Homestead." Mom told Carly. "No way. He's my doctor too." Carly said in excitement. "And you said Friday. I have an appointment the same day. What time is yours?"

"His is scheduled at ten-thirty." Mom said.

"Ha. And mine is at eleven." Carly said. Mom left leaving me, Lexi and Carly. I sat up on my bed. Carly turned and looked at me, wrapping her arm around me. "Don't worry, he's really nice." she said. I sighed and leaned on to her. I gave her a kiss. "I gotta get going. I have to get lunch." She told me, getting up. I looked out the window and saw Bobby once again, taking the trash out to the sidewalk.

He seemed like such an innocent kid who wanted to be a soccer player. Or maybe something else. Sure I have witnessed a few weird and crazy things with him but he's a kid. I walked over and sat on the couch holding my Nintendo. I couldn't watch TV until the cable guy came.

Carly came back a little while later, with her switch. She walked in and let out a burr. The snow was still coming down pretty hard. Luckily we had heat going. We both sat on the couch, I leaned over at the table and grabbed my Nintendo. "So what's your username?" She asked.

"IceDragon." I replied showing her the switch. I knew she was adding me as a friend. A message popped up. Doe is your friend it said. We both hoped hoped into Mario Kart 8.

Chapter 12

The snow started to calm down a little. Carly got up and walked outside. I followed her and stood beside her. A breeze made her long brown hair swish at my face. She stared at me for a second, then leaned over and gave me a deer kiss and giggled with a bit of red filling her. I blushed as I rubbed the kissed area. "You love me." I whispered.

She nodded as she rubbed her shoulder. "I do." she whispered to me.

Lexi walked up behind and giggled. "I knew it! I knew you loved her." I guess she saw her kiss me. I grunted and walked up to her in anger. My fist tightening. She didn't seem scared at all. Then she started to get serious. "Brian, bro' calm down." She said. My fist unloosened as I walked back inside up to my room. I laid on my bed, trying not to cry from embarrassment. Lexi walked up to me. "Brian, I get it. You love her, and I understand. I was only joking, I'm sorry I teased you." she said.

"It wasn't funny to me!" I complained. I was a little angry at her. She sighed as she placed her hand on my shoulder. Carly came walking in, with a face of sorry. She sighed as she walked up to me. Lexi put her hand on my head and ran it back and fourth, messing up my smooth brown hair. I softly pinched her ear as she yelped.

"Ok. You can get me back." She laughed, walking out the door. It was just me and Carly. I peered over at her as she brushed her hair back. She turned to look at me and sighed. "Has your sister..." She started before I interrupted her.

"No. Lexi was never a bad sister. She's always a loving and caring kind. Sometimes she loves to tease me, and prank me. But it's all because she's trying to get a laugh out of me." I said.

Carly nodded as she got up. Her tail flicked. "What kind of music do you like?" She asked out of curiosity.

"Sixties, seventies, eighties classic rock." I told her.

"What kind of bands?" She said. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a small notebook and a pen.

"Pink Floyd mainly." I said, holding up my dark side of the moon blanket.

She wrote down in her book. "What other bands?" She added.

"I guess The Talking Heads, A-ha, Led Zeppelin, Kiss. Scorpions." I said, pulling out my phone. "Every single artist listed here. Why?"

She looked up and smiled. "Well since Christmas is coming up, I thought I'd get you something. How about sports wise?"

Chapter 13

"I love bowling and nascar. basketball was a favorite. tennis." I said, thinking. "And if you really wanna get me something, I wouldn't mind getting a new collar. This purple one that Lucy made me, kinda itches. And tickles my fur." I stared to scratch at it.

Carly nodded as she stuffed the notebook and pen back into her pocket. "What about you?" I asked.

She looked at me and chuckled. "I really love collecting stuffed animals. And the one that I'd like is a fox. That's the only one I'm missing."

I let out a small laugh, and thought of something else. I walked over to an unopened box and pulled out one of my diecasts. A 1967 Chevy Camaro. Colored light blue

Carly nodded. "I love that car." she complimented as she pointed at it.

She walked over to the unopened box and peeked inside. Looking at all the different packaged ones. I had fifties and sixties to seventies and eighties. But my favorite had to be the National Lampoon's Vacation vista cruiser.

"You love to collect cars." she said.

I nodded. "Yeah, I collect classic cars. Next year when I take my driver's test, I was gonna pick out a classic. Maybe a sixties or seventies Camero or Mustang.

Carly laughed. "That would be cool."

She got up and patted me on the back. "See you later." I gave her a quick hug as she walked downstairs and out the door. I went back to my room and laid on my bed, I reached over to my bookshelf and pulled out one of my favorite books.

Chapter 14

As I began to read the first paragraph of the story, I heard a scream. I shot up and ran in the hallway. I peered into Lexi's room. She was on her bed, quivering, staring at the floor. I peered down to see what she was freaking out about and saw a spider. It slowly crawled across the carpet floor. "Lexi, you're scared of a baby spider." I scoffed. I carefully picked it up and walked downstairs to the back door. I leaned down and let the spider crawl outside.

I walked into the living were mom and dad sat on the couch exhausted. Mom was reading a book, and dad was on the phone. It sounded like dad was talking to his bank or credit card company. Ignoring the situation, I walked to the window and looked across the street. It was empty, nothing but cloudy skies and snow falling.

I walked over to the closet door and grabbed my jacket that was hanging on the knob. I walked upstairs and slid my shoes on, and walked downstairs outside.

Chapter 15

It was quiet. I didn't hear anything. Not a sound of a car driving by, or people talking. All I heard was the sound of the tree branches shaking in the wind. I walked across the street to Bobby's house and slowly knocked on his door. I peered over to Carly's house. I hope she wasn't watching me. The door slowly opened, Bobby stood their wearing soccer PJ's, holding a playstation controller in his left hand.

"Hey, Brian." he said. "Sup, Bobby." I said causally. "Do you mind if I come in?"

Bobby shook his head. "No, not at all." he said, moving out of the way. I slowly stepped inside, it was pretty warm. His house was big. A warm fire place going with pictures sitting above it. With stockings nailed hanging above the fire. To the left the TV and a decorated bright tree stood.

"Wow. So, where are your parents?" I asked.

Bobby went back to his game. "They went out." He replied, as he started his game.

I had a bad feeling. My heart began to raise as I looked around at the pictures hanging on the walls that showed Bobby and his family holding their rifles and animals that they hunted. I began to quiver, my body shook a little.

"Bobby, may I use your restroom?" I politely asked.

He nodded. "It's upstairs and the first door on the right."

Chapter 16

I walked upstairs. As I was about to open the bathroom door, I heard a muffled moan. It sounded like a cry for help. It startled me. I heard it again. It sounded like it was coming right from the door on the left. I wanted to open it. But I was worried that Bobby would catch me. I'm sure he wouldn't notice if I quickly took a peak. I slowly and carefully opened the door on the left and was stunned and shocked.

It was an empty room. But where did the muffled cries come from? I felt something touch my furry leg and looked down and gasped, nearly falling over.

Carly! She was tied up. A red ball was placed in her mouth, her legs and hands tied. Carly! I got down and stared at her. Tears filled her eyes as she stared at me. "Help me!" A muffled cry escaped from her. I reached in to pull out the ball. "What?" I asked shocked.

"Untie me!" she quietly cried. I leaned over and quickly untied her. She stood up and hugged me, crying. She had her head on my shoulder. "Brian. I told you." she cried. "I told you Bobby and his family were hunters." She leaned up and stared at me. Her teared eyes, made me wanna cry.

"What happened?" I whispered. "I was walking home from your house, until Bobby caught me. He brought me back here and tied me up. I tried screaming for your name, but he placed a ball in my mouth." she whispered to me before grasping onto me, hugging me tightly.

I heard Bobby yell about his game from downstairs. How was I gonna get Carly out?

Chapter 17

I thought for a moment. Something eventually clicked. I slowly made my way downstairs, hoping that Bobby didn't hear me. I saw Carly standing at the top of the stairs and directed her to follow me. She did so. We both made our way into the kitchen, and into the dining room. I walked up to the backdoor and slowly opened it. It creaked a little, but Bobby didn't seem to hear.

We both made it outside. I made my way over to the side of the house were the fence gate was. I slowly creaked open the gate and poked my head out. Nobody was watching. I directed Carly to go out first, she sped right past me, I followed behind and slowly closed the gate. The only thing I forgot to do was close the backdoor.

I hope he doesn't notice. We both snuck across the street towards my house. Lexi was sitting on the couch watching TV. "Hey, Brian. Hey Carly." she said. "Hey, Lexi!" Carly waved. We both went upstairs and into my room. We sat at the edge of my bed and talked. "I can't believe Bobby did that to you!" I said.

She sighed. "I know. I'm glad you came and rescued me." She leaned against my shoulder and sniffed. I felt so bad, I hugged her as tight as I could. She calmed down, I gave her a tissue as she blew her nose. "Why don't you spend the night here at my house?" I suggested as I rubbed the back of my neck.

Chapter 18

She nodded and picked up her phone. "That's a great idea." She called her parents. I heard her parents speak on the other line saying yes. She got up in excitement as we both left downstairs and out the door.

We quietly and carefully made our way over to her house. I stood at the front porch as Carly walked in. I heard her ask her parents if I could come in. "Yes." I heard a man say. Carly peeked her head out and directed me to come in. I slowly walked in. Her house was about the same size as Bobby's. A huge living room, the fire going, with stockings hung above it. And the tree was standing in the middle against a window, decorated bright and nice.

Carly's dad walked up to me. He had brown hair and nice brown eyes, as well as a short furry mustache. He stared at me. "So, you're a deer too! That's weird." He said in confusion. I nervously laughed as I put my hand out. "Hi, I'm Brian. I moved in across the way." He reached his hand out to shake mine. "My daughter seems to like you." he said, taking a sip of hot chocolate. A small bit dripped on me from the mug.

"Yeah." I told him. "She's really cute."

He smiled. "Thank you." I walked over to there couch and sat down, staring at the beautiful Christmas tree. Carly came down with her backpack, she seemed to be struggling with it. I made my way up the stairs and grabbed it, carrying it downstairs for her.

"Thank you." she gasped. I handed her bag back to her as I opened the door. "Be good." Her father said. Carly peeked her head back in. "You know I always am."

Her dad laughed. "I know. You have fun." as we walked across the street, I stared at Bobby's house. The back gate still was opened. I kept walking until we reached my house.

Chapter 19

I looked across the street and noticed a cable van out front. We both stepped in. Dad was the only one still on the couch as a man was standing behind the TV hooking up the wires to the TV. "Hey, son." Dad said. "Hey, Carly." we both made our way upstairs and into my room. Cary sat her backpack down and sat on my bed, gazing around my room. The model planes that stood on my desk, and few diecasts I had set up. Continuing she caught my band posters and my alarm clock.

"All this stuff is so cool." Carly complimented. I stared up from my book. "Thanks. I collect a lot of stuff. Planes, cars, books." Carly nodded. Mom called me. "Brian, some kid named Bobby is here and wants to talk to you."

I gulped. Carly shook her head as she mouthed the words no. I wonder what he wanted. He probably wanted to know why his back door and gate were open. I slowly walked downstairs to the door.

Chapter 20

Bobby stared at me blankly with disappoinment. "What?" I stuttered. He sighed and said this. "Brian, why was my back door open?" I couldn't tell him the truth. If I did, something terrible would happen. I quickly came up with a lie. "Because, when I went in the kitchen I thought I heard a noise, so I went out and investigated." I said.

Bobby stared at me with suspicion. My heart pounded quickly, sweat trickled down. "Okay." he said, walking away. I let out a sigh of relief, walking back inside.

Chapter 21

"Dinner, guys!" my mom called as she rang a small bell. Everyone walked to the kitchen. I walked to the sink then realized. I'm a deer, if I wash my hands, wouldn't the food be contaminated by my wet fur? Wouldn't it leave a wet deer smell? I just skipped washing my hands and walked to the table and sat next to my sister. Grass and berries was the dinner.

"Dig in." mom said, reaching for the bowl of grass. I stared at her in confusion as she plopped some grass on her plate. "Brian, would you mind passing the berries?" Dad asked politely pointing at a white box.

"Sure." I said, handing the box to him. "Honey, when you're done with the grass, pass me some." Dad added. Then Lexi interrupted as she held her arm up. Something was off about it. It had seemed to be covered in a bit of fur. I panicked a little and rubbed my eyes and stared back at it. It was normal.

I think from all the stress that happened previously, it's making me a little delusional. But it was weird to see my mom and dad eat grass like an animal. My mom walked over to the counter and brought over a plate full of acorns and nuts. Those must be for me.

But then, my mom reached over and grabbed an acorn and began eating it. Was this even healthy? Lexi grabbed one too and slowly ate it like a deer. Biting it slowly and chewing it carefully.

Chapter 22

After a weird dinner, it was time to get ready for bed. Mom and Dad were downstairs, while me, Carly and Lexi stayed upstairs. I and Carly sat in my room trying to find something to watch. "How about The Golf Man." She suggested. I sighed. "Sure." I got up and walked to the bathroom, the door was slightly cracked opened. I walked past then heard a bleat. I stopped and turned to Carly.

"Did you just bleat?" I asked her. She looked up. "No."

I'm obviously tired I told myself. When Lexi came out of the bathroom, I walked in and splashed water on my face. Then I took a quick whiz and left. I walked downstairs to grab a bowl of berries. When I walked into the kitchen, I heard a crunching sound as my foot touched something. I looked down to see what it was and was stunned. A deer antler.

I felt around my head, I still had both of mine. But what was this antler doing here? It was pretty long, longer than mine. It looked like it fell off a elk or a full on adult buck.

Chapter 23

I walked to the fridge and pulled out a bowl of berries and two waters. As I walked by my parents bedroom, I heard a deer grunt. I didn't bother to see what it was, because my dad owned a noise maker, so that's probably what it was. I walked back upstairs in my room and sat on my bed. I rolled one of the waters down toward Carly. I slid the bowl of berries towards the edge of my bed for her to grab.

From down the hall I heard Lexi scream. She probably encountered another baby spider. I got up and walked to her room and slowly pushed opened the door and gasped.

Chapter 24

I had no idea what I was seeing, if it was a dream or hallucination. Lexi was standing on all fours, her body was covered in brown and beige fur. Her ears were extended back. She... She... She was a deer too.

I can't believe this. My sister was a deer as well. She glanced over gasping. "Brian! Yes! I didn't want you to find out, but yes. I'm a deer too."

I was speechless. I felt faint. All of a sudden I heard a knock at the door. When I went down and answered it, I heard a clunk, then everything went dark.

Chapter 25

I woke up, I couldn't move my legs or arms. I stared into a lit hall. In came a silhouette of a man. The light came on and I couldn't believe who it was.

Bobby. He stood there wearing all camo, he walked up to me. "Hello, Brian." he said.

I was terrified. Scared. I tried letting out my fawn crying, but Bobby cuffed his hand over my mouth. "Stop being such a baby." He teased.

I watched as he slowly reached in his camo pants and pulled out a knife. I shut my eyes. I felt something being cut, then I could move my legs and arms again. I was free. I tried making my way to the hallway, but Bobby grabbed me. With all my might I turned and jammed one of my antlers into his face, which made him free me.

He tried grabbing me again, but I got on all fours and charged at him, with my antlers I bumped him, causing him to stumble back falling on his bed.

"Get him!" he groaned. I ran downstairs and outside. Running back to my house. I opened the door and slammed it tight, locking everything up tightly.

Lexi and Carly came rushing downstairs. I was sweating, out of breath and everything. My heart was beating pretty fast. "Brian, what happened?" Asked Lexi.

"Bobby, he caught me. I woke up in his room. I knew he wanted to hunt me." I said.

Chapter 26

The two were very upset. The whole night, I stayed awake with Lexi and Carly. We looked out the window at Bobby's. The lights were off at his house, indicating he was asleep.

The next day, and Bobby and his family never bothered me or Carly again. I guess it's probably because I slammed my antler into his face.

I still wanted to know why my parents were eating grass, nuts and berries for dinner. So I walked into their room.

Mom and dad stared at me. "Yes, son." dad said. I showed them the antler. Dad and Mom cracked up. "It's just a toy. It's made of plastic." dad showed me.

"But why were you guys eating the grass and nuts for dinner?"

They stared at me confusingly. Not saying a single word, and shrugged.

I did tell them about what Bobby did to me. They both were very furious. Especially dad.

Chapter 27

After a while. Bobby and his family moved out. Probably because I placed a restraining order against him and even sued him.

Anyway, it was the day after Christmas. I was reading one of my new books I got from my mom, when I heard the door bell ring. I got up and answered the door, it was Carly. She was holding a box and a bag. "Happy holidays, Brian." she said, held out the bag.

I let her in. She handed me the stuff then said. "That's for you." I took the bag and walked upstairs. Carly followed behind.

We both walked into my room and sat down as I opened the bag. I gasped. A new collar. Smooth, nice and blue, and very comfy. I slipped off Lucy's purple collar she made me, and clicked the new one on. It felt comfy, nice and sung around my furry deer neck. I then opened the box, and gasped in surprise. A few CD's of my favorite bands and a new diecast to add to my collection.

Sure it was a late gift, because everyone was busy yesterday. Enjoying their holiday's. Like me.

I leaned over on Carly's shoulder and sniffed. Mom came walking over with Carly's present and handed it to her. "This one is from Brian." she told her.

Carly ripped through the paper and gasped. "A fox plush. To finish my collection." she said. We both hugged each other, in tears of happiness.

Chapter 28

A couple of months later everything was just fine. I don't have to deal with Bobby anymore, in fact nether of us do. Carly, Lexi, and a couple of my other new friends.

Now I've been hanging out with my herd. Relaxing, and having fun in the forest.
