A few hours later after much laughter, fun and food, Nick and Noah were ready to head to the house. Ok said Nick, we've to pick the girls up now, I need to head to the supermarket, then we'll head to the house. OK said Noah, can I come in and see Amanda? I haven't seen her in ages. Nick smiled, sure you can. I'll call her now and let her know we're coming. 30minutes later Nick and Noah arrived at the parking garage to Amanda's apartment block. When Amanda opened the door to them she had the biggest smile on her face, Hey guys she grinned, Hey Amanda said Noah and walked in to give her a big hug, hey buddy she said as she hugged him back and ruffled his hair. I've missed you she said to him. Me too he said grinning, letting her go and heading on into the apartment. He actually said that to me earlier said Nick as he hugged her, that's why he wanted to come up. He kissed her head and she said, it's been a while since I've seen him. Nick walked in, his arm still around Amanda and she closed the door. You have a good day? he asked as he let her go, yeah, she replied. Have you 2 boys had fun? She asked looking at Noah, yeah great said Noah, he then proceeded to tell her what they got up to. Wow she said, sounds like the 4 of you will be in bed early tonight she chuckled. Nick sighed as he sat down, Noah went over to Billie and started talking to her, Billie got excited when she saw him and started giggling and talking to him. Amanda smiled as she sat down beside Nick, she put her hand on his shoulder, long day she asked? Yeah, he said, but it's been great he said smiling at her. You look tired she said, just a bit he said, but I'll be fine. She looked at her clock, it was 3pm. Hey, she said moving her hand to the back of his neck, how about you go lie down for an hour. He nodded his head, and put his hand on her leg, that sounds good. Ok she whispered, go on, I'll wake you in a bit. He lifted her hand and kissed it, thanks he said. As he went to get up Jesse came into the room, Nick! she said excitedly, are we going to your house now? before Nick could answer Amanda said, not yet honey, Nick's a bit tired so he's going to go have a nap in mummy's bed for a while before he takes you to his house. Noah looked up, hi Jesse he said, Jesse screamed NOAH! I've missed you and ran over to him and hugged him. Nick and Amanda laughed, well looks like Noah's got this for a bit Nick announced, winking at him, I'll see you 4 in a bit. Have a nice siesta sang Jesse, Amanda looked at her then Nick, how does she know that one? Oh, I think I said it to her yesterday. Huh she said, Ok, see you in a bit. As he closed the door, he took his jeans and hoodie off and climbed into the bed. Amanda returned to her couch. So how have you been buddy? she smiled at Noah, Good he said and got up to join her on the couch. Hey Amanda, is Nick OK? Amanda turned to look at him, yeah, well as far as I know he is, why? Oh, just because you said he's tired and he's had to go lie down. Oh, don't worry about that she said smiling, he's just a bit jetlagged. What does that word mean mummy? asked Jesse. Oh well remember how when we looked at facts about LA where Nick lives and we found out that they are in a different time zone to us? well sometimes when you travel to different time zones it muddles up your bedtime so your body gets confused. Oh, Ok said the little girl. And we don't want him getting too tired later on so you can't have fun at his house sure we don't? nope said Noah, I want to play cards with him. Amanda smiled, well that's why I told him to go have a lie down now, so you all don't have to go to bed early tonight. Cool said Noah.
After catching up with Noah and the 3 kids playing in the living room, Amanda looked at the time. It was just after 4pm. She put the kettle on and asked Noah if he would like some tea. Yes please he replied smiling. Ok she said, when I make the tea, will you be OK with these 2 for a few minutes so I can go wake Nick up? Sure, he said, as he came up to help her with the tea. Hey there's some chocolate biscuits in that cupboard if you want one, she smiled. He grinned, thanks. When the tea was made, she said OK, Jesse, you be good for Noah, I'm going to take this tea into Nick and wake him up. Ok mummy she replied. She lifted the tea for Nick and opened the door to her room. As she closed the door behind her she smiled at what she saw in front of her, Nick was sleeping peacefully hands under the pillow. It looked as if he hadn't moved since he got into the bed. She walked over, sat the tea down on his bedside table and sat on the bed gently. She put her hand up to his hair and run her fingers through it, hey Nick she whispered. She heard his breathing change, so she whispered to him again. Hey, time to wake up or you'll not sleep tonight baby. He opened his eyes slowly, Hey he whispered smiling, she smiled back, hey sleepyhead, time to get up, or the 3 munchkins out there won't be happy if I tell them they're sleeping here tonight she joked. She was still playing with his hair. He lay there staring at her just smiling, he took her hand and kissed it, thanks for that sleep he said, I feel much better. She leaned forward and kissed his lips, you're welcome baby she whispered, smiling against his lips. He put his hand on the back of her head and kissed her again, this time deepening the kiss. They broke away before things got out of hand, mmm, she said quietly, we need to be careful here she smiled, we could possibly get away with some white lies to Jesse, but Noah she made a thinking face, he's a different kettle of fish. Nick laughed and let go of her, yeah, he said, in saying that, you're mini me I think we couldn't hoodwink too much either. Amanda made a face, yeah, not much longer anyway. They were still holding hands as they heard the bedroom door open. Letting go quickly and standing up to fold her arms, they both sighed when they saw it was Jesse, mummy she said quietly, It's ok honey she smiled, Nick's awake, you don't have to be quiet. Oh, good said Jesse as she walked in, what's up honey? her mum asked. Billie has a stinky diaper she said screwing up her face. Nick laughed, Ok Amanda said, you go back out I'll go grab a new one now and we'll get her nice and clean. OK said the little girl as she walked out and closed the door again. Amanda and Nick looked at each other and sniggered, and we're back to the beginning again she said. Yep, he said, you still OK with this? She sat back down beside him and bent over to kiss him again. Always she whispered, the kiss deepened again and they came back up for air, OK we have to stop he said as I'm going to get carried away here he said grinning. She lay her head on his chest and tucked her arms under his and rubbed his shoulder, mmm she said quietly, I've missed this. He kissed her head and replied, me too mi amor. She lifted herself up and giggled blushing. Mi amor huh, she said teasing, we diving straight in the deep end are we? he blushed and shrugged, may aswell he said, no point in hiding how I feel, after all these years, that's how it was when I left, I'm hoping we can pick up somewhere around where we left off. She smiled and lent down to him again resting her forehead against his, I'm good with that plan mi hermoso amor. He smiled as they kissed again. OK, she said, I'm going to go now before Noah asks questions she smiled, yeah Nick said, I need to get dressed, Amanda stopped, what do you mean dressed? Well, he said I told you last night sleeping in jeans is not comfortable, so I took them off before I got in, she looked around the room and saw his lounge pants sitting on the chair in the corner, she looked back at him, aww she groaned, I wish I'd known that when I came in, she grinned, I could have had a quick play with you. She smiled at him with a certain look. He smiled, yeah, he said clearing his throat, then we would have been in big trouble had you known. Oh, come on, just a quick feel? she asked. It has been 6 years after all, yeah and a little while longer won't kill you he said, anyway he blushed, not now, as he put his arm under the covers to his crotch, I need to re-position. Aww she said sadly, is my little soldier standing to attention? she gave him that smile, he laughed, yeah, he is, was the reply, now away you go before we get into trouble. Ok she said in her disappointed voice, I suppose I'll have to. She left the room and he lay there smiling. After a few minutes he sat up on the side of the bed and reached for his socks, put them on then looked down to his boxers. Yeah, that's not going anywhere he said, he put his jeans on, and unable to zip or button them without feeling uncomfortable he headed to the bathroom. In there he looked in the mirror, saw his huge bulge and decided he had to sort himself out before going out to Noah and the girls. Jesse probably wouldn't notice anything, but he was sure Noah would, so his hard-on had to be dealt with. He took a breath, checked himself in the mirror, washed his hands and returned to the living room.
As he walked out he heard the laughter and giggles coming from the children. It made him smile. He walked into the bedroom, put his trainers on, lifted his tea and went out to join them. There he found Amanda on one end of the couch, Noah at the other end, Billie snuggling into Noah and Jesse lying on the one-seater. Room for another one on here? said Nick cheerily as he sat in between Noah and Amanda, Amanda smiled at him and Noah said Hi. Nick held his tea in one hand and put his arm along the back of the sofa behind Amanda, he let his fingers rest on her head. She leant back to allow him to play with her hair. What time are you going to Liv's? She looked at her watch, we were thinking about 6 she said, I'm going to bring in some take-out, we're having a complete night off from all duties she chuckled. He lifted his arm down and put his hand on her knee and patted it, well you both deserve a night off he smiled. Leaving his hand on her leg he turned to Noah, how about we get going and let Amanda get over to your mum? Noah smiled, sure he said, come on Billie said Noah, lets get your coat. The boy stood up and Billie took his hand. I'm coming to said Jesse worriedly, you need to lift your school coat also called Amanda. Noah stopped short. What's wrong mate? Noah turned around with a worried look on his face, I forgot my school coat Nick, I'm sorry he fretted. Mum washed it and it's still drying in the bathroom. Nick smiled, don't worry we'll call back and get it. No Amanda said, you take these 3 on over and I'll bring the coat to you she said smiling at Noah. He looked at her, but it's out of the way for you, no it's OK, I don't mind, it'll take me less time to get it to you, than it will for you to traipse all 3 kids over and back. He nodded. OK he said, thanks Amanda said Noah, no worries buddy. Ok said Nick as he tightened his grip on Amanda's knee, we shall see you later then he smiled, yep, she said. We've to call into the supermarket on the way back, anything I need to get for these two pequeños? No she said, I don't think so. And do you remember how to get to the house? he asked. She looked at him, yeah I think so, text me the address anyway so I can put it in the SatNav.
They got gathered and headed out the door. Is Lucy picking me up? Asked Noah. Erm you know what mate I don't know, let me ask your mum later and I'll let you know. The 4 left and Amanda went back to tidy up and pack an overnight bag. Just after 5pm she left to go to Liv's. She rang the bell and Liv let her up. When she got in Amanda said, Ok I know I'm early, but I'm not staying just yet, Liv looked at her, OK, so why are you here? she laughed. Noah forgot his school coat, Liv's eyes went wide, oh crap I forgot about his coat she said panicking. I washed it on Friday. Amanda laughed, yeah, he said that, even told me where to get it. He only remembered when I told Jesse to get hers. I said I'd bring it over to them I can do that then pick the food up on the way back. I'll come with you said Liv, get some fresh air. Ok smiled Amanda. They headed to her car.
Just under 30mins later Amanda pulled up at Nick's house. Wow said Liv, this is beautiful. Yeah, it is smiled Amanda, Jesse loved it. You've been here? Yeah, said Amanda, yesterday we came back here to use the bathroom. Liv looked at her suspiciously, hey we can gossip when we get back to yours, she chuckled. Not that there's any gossip she added quickly, just Jesse planning to rent a room in there she joked. Liv and Amanda walked up the path to the house, and this was his grandfather's house? Liv said. Yeah, said Amanda, apparently he had a few others around the city that were left to Nick as well. Wow said Olivia, I mean, I knew his grandfather had a few properties, but I thought apartments like mine or yours she laughed. Same here said Amanda. They reached the door and Olivia knocked, Nick answered, he was startled when he saw the two of them standing there. Why on earth did you knock the door? he said bewildered looking from Olivia to Amanda. The 2 ladies looked at each other just as bewildered and shrugged at each other mumbling. Liv was the one to find her voice, well how else are we supposed to get in? Nick laughed, there's this thing called a door knob, you push it down and it opens the door. Amanda, clearly not thinking right thought of something completely different and tried to stop herself from laughing. You want us to push your knob? she giggled, Liv laughed, and Nick stood open mouthed, Rollins said Liv hitting her wash your mouth, sorry Liv, Amanda giggled, it was too good an opportunity I couldn't let it pass. Liv laughed again, OK I'll give you that, she said, you were quicker than me with the sarcastic comment, she looked at Nick, you did walk into that one Nick she sniggered. Well Nick said looking at them both again, are the two of you going to walk through the door like you should have done without knocking or are you going to knock again? Ok said Amanda, so we know next time we come we don't knock the door like normal people Liv, got that? Yeah, apparently so answered Liv. Oh, just get in you two he said. The 3 of them walked in and Nick closed the door. Wow said Olivia, nice house Nick she said. Thanks, he said, I got a lot of work done to it to update it, there's still a few things to be done though, now that I'm staying here for a bit, I'm finding smaller things that need done. It'll get there eventually though he said. You going to rent it out again when it's finished? Asked Olivia. Umm he glanced at Amanda, I'm not sure yet he said, I might do, or might sell it. There's no rush though he added, it's all paid out so no big outgoings if it were to sit empty like it has for the past year. My grandfather had everything paid off and working well so I can take my time on that one he said smiling. You're welcome to look around Liv if you want. Olivia looked at Amanda, oh I had a good nosey yesterday she said, although if you find Jesse, she's the perfect tour guide for you she laughed. Come on laughed Nick, I'll show you round. I'll wait in here said Amanda, heading to the living room. She walked in and found Billie sitting playing with some toys she didn't recognize. Hey baby she cooed; Billie gave her a big grin. She sat playing with the toddler and heard Jesse upstairs. Noah appeared in the living room. Hi Amanda, he said cheerily, I was just coming to sit with Billie seeing as mum and Nick are upstairs. Aw thanks buddy she said, where did these toys come from? Oh, Nick bought them when we went to Walmart for some shopping. At this stage Olivia and Nick had returned downstairs with Jesse. Mummy! Shouted the little girl. Hey honey Amanda smiled. What are you doing here? she asked, are you having a sleepover too? Oh no honey chuckled Amanda, I'm having a sleepover at Auntie Liv's tonight. Ok she said. Noah and Jesse went to the other sitting room and Olivia said, so how's things going? Great he said smiling, we got the girls some toys, and books for Jesse he looked at Amanda smiling, and Noah has a new deck of cards, books and magazines he smiled. Nick, began Amanda, hey he said to them both, there's nothing here to keep them occupied and I'm allowed to treat them, it's my job to spoil them rotten when I can, he grinned. Amanda didn't attempt anymore. Ok she said holding her hands up. As they carried on talking Amanda's phone rang, she walked to the kitchen to answer it. Oh by the way said Olivia Lucy has an appointment tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to see if he can get picked up by Amanda's childminder Chloe. Ok said Nick, but before he could say anything else Amanda walked in, yeah that's not going to happen she said. Chloe has to isolate for 2 weeks, starting yesterday, her mum has tested positive for Covid. Olivia sighed, great she said, now what are we going to do? I'll take them Nick said. No Nick began Amanda, look he said, I've nothing on tomorrow, I can take the kids to school, keep Billie here and do the pick-ups. We'll head back to Amanda's after school and I'll have them settled and fed for when you get home, if it's OK with you, I'll get ready at yours and pick Liv up for dinner. Both ladies went to protest, don't he said, look I'm doing nothing, you two need a sitter and I'm free, save you both some money. Olivia and Amanda looked at each other, Amanda shrugged with a I don't know face, well if your sure…. Yes I'm sure he said smiling. Thanks Nick they both said, you're a lifesaver. Right said Amanda kissing Billie goodbye, me and you need to get going, before we end up sleeping here instead of your place. Well, there's plenty of room said Nick joking, hmm maybe another night she laughed…. Although it may throw Jesse's plan up in smoke, laughed Amanda, with two mummies sleeping over, Nick laughed, there's only room for 2 in my bed he joked, I'll definitely be on the couch. Olivia looked from one to the other, what are you two on about? Nick laughed; I'll leave Amanda to tell you about that he laughed. Yeah, come on, that's a conversation to be had over a large glass of wine groaned Amanda. Right Ok then said Liv, lets go, I want to hear all about THAT story. They both said goodbye to Nick again and told Noah and Jesse about Nick collecting them from school. Oh and I emailed the school earlier to let them know you were dropping Jess off to school said Amanda. I'll send another message tomorrow to tell them you're collecting her too. Liv said I'll message Noah's teacher to tell her the arrangements for tomorrow too added Liv. No worries said Nick smiling. Before starting the car, Amanda phoned the takeaway to order their food to collect.
