Back at the station, Amanda and Kat had finished writing up the paperwork for the non-starter of a case they had just returned from. Olivia had just come back from a meeting and Fin had finally gotten rid of Carisi. Amanda had walked in and sat in the staff area to phone Nick. After they ended their call Fin came in. He sat down beside her, so, tell me, what's up with Carisi? Honestly? I have no idea she shrugged. Olivia walked in and joined them at this point. Amanda sighed he's probably jealous of Nick. He called by mine on Saturday evening before the girl's bedtime and Nick was there, he was off then too. Olivia looked at her, well that's not your problem she said, you're allowed to have friends over, you can do whatever you want in your own home. Amanda smiled; I know she said. I think he was a bit put out as he wanted to do something yesterday, but Nick was taking the kids, and I was going to Liv's, and he wasn't expecting to see Nick still at mine on Saturday I don't think. In saying that Nick nor myself expected Nick to be there, that was Jesse's decision. Fin laughed, Jesse has him wrapped round his finger already, Amanda smiled embarrassed, oh she most certainly does laughed Olivia. She was the one to give me the tour of Nick's house on Sunday. It's a nice house ain't it? Said Fin. It's lovely, replied Olivia, yeah said Amanda it's beautiful…. And spacious she sighed. Fin noticed the sigh, you jealous Rollins? She blushed, yeah I am actually. You thinking about moving again he asked? She smiled and looked at him. I am she said. Just being at Nick's on Saturday the kids loved the space she said, I'm going to have to look at things again, see what I can do. Shame you can't rent Nick's when he goes back….. Olivia swung around, I said that very same thing too she said in shock. Amanda laughed, she did actually, Great minds think alike teased Fin winking at Olivia, they do indeed Fin she grinned. Amanda laughed, well we'll have to wait and see, said Amanda, he was saying to Liv he might sell it so who knows what can happen there. And anyway, I don't need a house that big, I couldn't be bothered cleaning it all. Well said Olivia, that's a good point. Yeah, I'm thinking a bit smaller added Amanda.
Did you get through to Nick earlier? Yeah she said, he's calling by here and I'm treating him to lunch seeing as he's got Billie she smiled. Shame you can't treat him in other ways said Fin teasing her. Amanda sat open mouthed and hit him on he shoulder, shut it you she said, no more of that talk from either of you she said in a warning voice. I never opened my mouth laughed Olivia, yeah well you were about to, added Amanda, I know how you two think. They both laughed, you didn't deny anything there though Rollins laughed Fin. There's nothing to deny, she said throwing a piece of paper at him. Olivia laughed, come on Fin she said, let's go eat before Amanda commits a murder here in the station. Yeah, good idea said Amanda. She returned to her desk and sat talking to Kat, who was catching up on some paperwork. They said goodbye to Olivia and Fin a short while later and Amanda returned to some follow up work on a case for Carisi coming in this afternoon.
It was nearing 12.30 and Kat was getting ready to leave for her lunch. You doing anything nice for lunch? Kat asked Amanda. Yeah, she sat back and smiled, Nick's calling by with Billie she said. Billie's never called by for lunch before she laughed, and I haven't seen her since yesterday so I can't wait. Aww said Kat, I'm sure she'll love seeing you after that time too. Yeah, said Amanda, hopefully she's awake, Nick's had her out at the park already. Or, Amanda thought, maybe I should be more worried that Nick is still awake she said thoughtfully, seeing as he's had the 3 of them and done a school run this morning she chuckled. Kat laughed, maybe you should text him to make sure. Yeah, she said, maybe I should actually. I'll kill him if he leaves me standing waiting for him, he knows not to leave me hungry. Kat laughed, yeah text him then she said. Amanda lifted her phone smiling, she sent him a text and put her phone back down. She returned to her computer.
Nick was just strapping Billie into her car seat when the text came through.
*Going to sneak out of here about 10 to 1, let me know when you're coming xx
He got into the driver's seat and replied smiling.
*Just getting into the car now, don't get caught sneaking out and don't answer the desk phone xo
He started the car and drove off.
He pulled up outside the station at quarter to one. He sent Amanda a text telling her he was there. Amanda replied back, coming now x Billie had just started to doze off, hey bebita he called to her, don't fall asleep just yet, mummy is coming soon. The little girl mumbled mummy and he said yeah, mummy's coming look. She woke up a little again as she tried to look for Amanda.
Amanda was sitting at the staff area with Kat. She sat her phone down and said to Kat do you reckon anyone would notice if we snuck out early for lunch? Kat smiled, I thought you would never suggest that she said quietly, this last half hour is dragging in and my cousin has just text saying she's at the place we're eating. Good Amanda said, cause Nick and Billie are outside waiting for me. We could always say we're tying up a few loose ends for that non-starter this morning. Kat smiled, Amanda Rollins you're the best, Amanda laughed, come on, us girls gotta stick together. They went to their desks, grabbed their coats and headed to the elevator.
The 2 ladies said their goodbyes at the ground floor, Kat was off to get her car, Amanda was going out the front. She saw Nick's car and grinned, she felt her stomach flutter and her heart was beating a mile a minute. She reached the car and opened the door. Hey you she said as she sat beside Nick grinning, hello cariño he grinned back, as much as I would love to kiss you right now, he said in his sexy voice that she had missed so much, Sonny's on his way down the street. Oh, for fuck's sake she sighed, he looked at her and laughed, what is going on with you and him? he asked. Nothing she said, I just wanted a kiss she smiled at him. She turned and gave Billie, who was laughing and trying to reach for Amanda. Hey honey she smiled and cooed at her, Nick smiled at the scene beside him. Ok he said, so did you just want a kiss the other night as well when he called too then? She held onto Billie's hand and turned back to look at him, what are you on about? He laughed, come on Rollins he said with one of his knowing looks, there was some sort of atmosphere in that room the other night. And I know Sonny was pissed that I was there, but what was up with you? She let go of the little girl's hand and turned back around reaching for her seatbelt, well she said, I just wanted to spend time with you she said quietly. I wanted you to myself for a while she glanced at him. He sighed aww mi amor, he took her hand, well you've got me now, he said, and they looked at each other with so much want to just kiss each other. Right Nick let's go somewhere away from here she said, just me you and this one in the back. He laughed, as you wish. Oh, I'm wishing for a hell of a lot more right now she said, but I need to just keep wishing, she turned to Billie again smiling, ain't that right honey? Nick laughed out loud, just as he went to start the car Sonny came nearer. I think you've been spotted querida. Amanda let out a groan, as she turned back round to see Carisi walk towards the car. He had his hand up with a smile on his face and he walked to the window. Nick let the window down so he could talk to Amanda, be nice he whispered. Amanda glared at him then turned around to speak to Carisi. Hey Sonny, we're just on our way out to lunch she said. Oh, OK he replied nodding. Hey Amaro, he said looking at Nick, Nick smiled and lifted his fingers from the steering wheel, hey Sonny. Sonny carried on, I wasn't sure if you were just giving Nick your keys and coming back in or not. Nick pressed his lips closed and bent his head down trying not to smile or laugh. No no, we're nipping out for some lunch too she smiled. My treat to Nick for having Billie today. Even though I've told her she doesn't need to, but me and Billie were out and about anyway he said so we may as well. Yeah said Sonny nodding, trying to hide his annoyance, Is the Captain upstairs? Um no, her and Fin are due back inn about 10 minutes she said. Huh he said, Ok I'll go up and have a coffee and wait for her to get back. Ok said Amanda I might see you when I get back, oh by the way that folder you needed is sitting on my desk. If you need anything else, you can let me know this afternoon and I'll get it done before I finish for the week. Oh yeah, I forgot about that replied Carisi. I'll have a read over it now then. Amanda smiled, ok, then she turned to Nick, right Amaro, let's get going cause I'm hungry. Nick smiled and said see you later to Sonny, yep, see you later, have a good lunch he said, thanks we will they both said at the same time. He waved at Billie in the back, bye Billie, but she was more interested in trying to reach Nick's seat in front of her. Nick started the car and they drove off. Amanda sat her head back on the headrest and sighed, you OK? he asked her and took her hand again, yeah, she said turning to smile at him, I am now. You going to tell me what's going on with you two or am I going to have to stick with my assumptions? She turned to him as he stopped at a stoplight. Can we not talk about Sonny for a bit? she asked quietly. Just let me enjoy my sneaky time with you. We can talk about him another time, I promise. Nick smiled, Ok, he replied and kissed her hand. But we will talk about it you know that don't you? Yeah, she sighed, I know, and I promise we will talk about it. Just not today. Alright he said, if that's what you want, and as long as I'm not stepping on any toes…. She turned to him quickly, oh don't worry about that, my heart has only ever belonged to you Nick she said shyly. And it will only ever belong to you. Nick smiled, Ok then, we'll forget about it. She put her hand on his leg as they drove on, and she kept it there until he pulled into the carpark of where they were going to eat. It was next to the coffee shop they used to go to 6 years ago, when he switched the engine off, she took her seatbelt off and looked round to Billie. She was fast asleep. She smiled, leant over to Nick and put her arms around his neck, he cupped her cheek with his hand and kissed her softly. They deepened the kiss and after a few seconds they broke apart, she had the biggest grin on her face, and he couldn't stop smiling. I've been looking forward to this for 6 years she said quietly. Yeah, he said stroking her cheek, me too. They had another kiss and then he broke it off. Let's go get you fed he whispered.
They entered the small café with a sleeping Billie in Amanda's arm. The server took them to a cubicle, so Amanda was able to lay the sleeping child down beside her and Nick sat facing her. The server also brought a highchair to the table incase Billie woke up. After ordering their food Nick leant on the table and took Amanda's hand in his and smiled at her. You OK? he asked. Oh, I'm more than ok she replied smiling, I've never been better actually. She put her other hand on top of his again and rubbed it with her thumb. What about you? Are you OK? he smiled, amazing he said. I'm so thankful and grateful right now. They sat talking about a few different topics, she asked him if he was ready for a nap yet after having all 3 kids. No, I'm not actually, he said smiling, I'm feeling great. Not tired at all. Their food arrived and they started eating. Halfway through Billie woke up. Hey missy smiled Amanda lifting her up. Billie gave her a huge smile and stood up on her feet to give her mum a huge hug. Amanda smiled at her daughter and felt herself at home, feeling so content and happy. She turned to Nick while still holding the little girl beside her. Thank you she said to him. Nick stopped eating and looked at her confused. For what? He asked, completely lost. Just this she said, this moment, this feeling you have given me, this… she struggled to find what she meant and shrugged her should, just for everything she said smiling. Everything I have, is because of you, and just Thank you. Nick was still confused, and lost, but he smiled and said You're Welcome….. I think he said. Amanda took his hand, and I can't wait to see where we go and what happens from this moment right now. As long as it's nothing bad she added quickly. He smiled at her and stroked her hand, I'll try my best he said, no more bad things to happen. Billie started trying to eat her mums food, so she lifted the small sandwich they had ordered incase she woke up. Here you are baby she said, the little girl sat down beside her mum and started to eat her food. Nick watched her smiling. Hey, you ok over there daydreamer? he heard Amanda ask in her Georgian drawl, he sighed, yeah he smiled at her, just thinking how lucky I am to have you back and looking at how perfect that little angel is there he laughed. Amanda smiled and looked from her daughter to Nick, yeah well, you've still a lot to learn about that little angel she joked. Don't let her fool you. They both returned to their lunch and not long after all 3 of them had finished. As Amanda went to the baby room to change Billie Nick paid for the bill and started to gather their stuff to be ready to leave. They had another 30 minutes before Amanda had to be back to work, so he planned to take her for a walk around the park across the road. Amanda returned a few minutes later with a much happier Billie who was fed, watered and new diaper on. OK he said, let's go, I've paid the bill already. Nick! said Amanda annoyed, I was paying. Nick laughed, well that's what you thought. Come on, he took Billie from her and they walked out. After getting the pram from the car and strapping Billie in it they walked across the street and took a short stroll around. Nick pushed the pram and Amanda had her arms wrapped around his waist as they walked, his other arm was around her. They came to a free park bench and sat down. Holding her close he kissed her head and said, I've missed this mi cariño. She looked up at him and smiled, me too she said and pulled his head down to kiss him. A few minutes later they broke apart, stood up and walked back to the car, she linked him on the way back. As they passed the coffee shop, she said how about a takeaway coffee? Sure, he said smiling. You put her in the car, and I'll go get them she said. She turned to him and said, the usual? He grinned, you remembered; and she laughed. I do she said, so did you when you told Fin what to get me. He grinned at her, you noticed that then? I did indeed mi amor she said grinning and walked away.
On the drive back Amanda lifted her bag and sat a key on the dashboard. Your key she said. He took a quick glance and did a double take when he saw the keyring. That's the one I gave you back when I left, he said shocked. She smiled, I know, which is why I said your key. It's always been your key she said looking at him, it never stopped being your key. He smiled, Well, I'm going to have to update that keyring aren't I? Why? I like it the way it is she said. He nodded. Ok he said, I'll not change it then. Good she said. They were nearing the station again and she sighed, he laughed, you OK there? Yeah, she said, I just don't want my lunch to end, I've had a lovely time she said and put her hand on his thigh. He rubbed her hand, well when you're off we can do more of this can't we? She grinned, yeah, she said happily, we can indeed. He pulled up at the station, she turned to Billie and smiled at her, as she did, she said is there anyone about? Nick looked, no, can't see anyone. Good she said and leant over to give him a kiss. See you later mi amor she smiled. He laughed, see you later mi amor. She got out of the car and walked around to Billie's side, she opened the door and gave her a kiss, and I'll see you later missy. Billie hugged her mum and waved bye bye to her. As she closed the door Nick said, I'm assuming I pick Jesse up from where I dropped her off this morning? Yes, said Amanda, thank you. Oh, he said I told her teacher it would be me or you collecting her the rest of the week too. Ok she nodded, that's one less thing to worry about doing too. They said goodbye again and she went back into the station.
