Chapter 18

As Crescent kept her head down she closed her eyes while she kept saying sorry to everyone she loved and came to knew as friend while she mentally prepares for the pain after a while of silence she slowly opens her eyes and looks up to see him just standing there with the blade.

"I can't do this!" she hears him saying "not after seeing you allowing me to do this, this proves to me that you are truly sorry" she was filled with shock by this "and I finally realise it was our fault as well" she sees him handing her the blade back to her.

"so you accept my apology!?" she asked unsure.

"yes as long as you accept ours" she nods to him "this won't make you normal after all this!" she hears him saying.

"I know I will live with that" she said to getting up and she began to walk away from the town with a sigh of relief while heading to her next destination where Ruby is.

Ruby POV

Ruby and her friends were sitting around the fire it was night time and everyone was tired after the day they had, they had just dealt with some mad Faunus man who wanted her while she was saved by her uncle but only for him to be stung by the man tail with some poison.

Her uncle was telling them about what been going on such as the maidens, a war, and a woman named Salem but as she was listening her thoughts turned to the time she had spent with Crescent back in Beacon and how Goodwitch had mentioned about her daughter and her old lover, suddenly she realised something looking up to her uncle "was Crescent apart of this war!?" she asked curiously and carefully.

She watched him sigh with a defeat "yes she was, she was deemed an important ally but also a very dangerous one because of her...!" she beat her uncle to the answer.

"because of her emotions" she said to him seeing him looking puzzled along with Ren and Nora "Goodwitch informed me and Jaune" was all she said.

"yes well you see Crescent old lover Crimson was picked to become the spring maiden no one knew about this only a few selected people even their other two friends didn't knew so when the time came Crimson was given the power but after a few minutes she then started to attack Crescent" Ruby gasp quietly to herself "it turns out the maiden has a vendetta against her because of one thing something I can't tell you only she can, so any way as I was saying it turns out the maiden had taken over Crimson body and was using it to attack Crescent" she saw him pausing for a bit.

"Crescent was given little choice but to defend herself and doing so meant she had kill her" Ruby saw her other friends looking shocked at this and horrified "after she killed her she was even more broken then it didn't help when everyone started to calling her names eventually she ran away don't know where" she hears him finishing off.

Ruby staid silent as she pondered what she was told as she looked up to her uncle "uncle do you think there is any way to help her?" she asked him.

She heard him sigh "no I don't think so like I said she is a very broken woman and don't take this the wrong way kid but if I were you I would try to forget about her" she gasp at what her uncle just said to her.

"but I don't want to forget about her for the first time in my life I have found some one I love and care for!" she said to him not out of anger but with fear in her voice.

"I know but think about it please she might not ever return she is a broken woman...!" Ruby stopped him there.

"stop saying that she might be broken but I know she will come to us!" she screamed out to him.

"okay I think that enough for tonight let's get our head down!" Jaune said out to everyone to calm the situation down.

Ruby calmed herself down and agreed and laying her head down as she was about to go to sleep when she was thinking about what her uncle said about giving up on Crescent shacking her head 'no I won't give up on her!' she said to herself and began to fall asleep.

2 day's later

It's been two day's now and Ruby and her friends had made it to Mistral she was in a room with her uncle who was resting in bed after he had been seen to, she was just finishing her letter when she sighs facing her uncle she smiled when she saw Luna sleeping next to him turning back to the desk she pulled out another paper and began to write on it while saying what she was writing about out loud "dear Crescent it's me Ruby I am writing to tell you we made it to Mistral me, Jaune, Ren and Nora we bumped into my uncle as well, any way I name the pup Grimm you gave me she's now known as Luna I hope your doing good and hope your getting better it's hard not seeing you here or hearing you voice, I have been thinking about us back when I saw you in your house you told me to just leave you alone and I said I can't but being on this road we were told about the war with Salem and how you were in it he also mentioned about your fight with some people called the maiden I was horrified that they got you to kill your lover Crimson, I am sorry.

As I was saying being on this road and the talk we had back at your house I am finding myself in a turmoil whether we want to continue our relationship or not I have been in deep thought about this and I have been at war with myself and have been trying to think if I still love you or not, or if you still love me or not if your on your way here then I would take it your still in love with me if not then I would take it your not and I would respect that just so you know I don't blame you for anything that happened between us your love Ruby Rose".

As she finished her letter she got up and walked to the window seeing the town going about it's day she suddenly heard the door opening turning to see it was Jaune, Ren and Nora walking in she smiled sadly at them as they came up to her "what's wrong?" she hears Nora asking.

"I'm just feeling alone right now I have just finished writing a letter to Crescent because I've been thinking about our relationship!" she said with sadness in her as she pointed to the piece of paper on the table.

She watched both Jaune and Ren looking over the letter "I see what does your heart tells you?" she hears Ren asking.

"I don't know a part of me says to keep this relationship going but another tells me not to because it's no longer worth the while" she said as she felt Nora placing a hand on her shoulders.

"did you manage to see her before you left?" she faces Nora as she asked that.

"yes I did she was a mess when I entered the house all I could see was empty bottles of alcohol and her sitting on a chair she looks as if she hasn't had any sleep or a moment of rest" while she was saying those things her mind wandered back to that moment "I tried to convince her to come with me but she wasn't having it all she kept on about is how she is a danger to me and to all of you" she was then hugged into by Nora.

"I am sure she was just trying to protect you after all back at Beacon she wasn't... exactly herself!" Ruby hears Nora saying with some hesitation.

"I just don't know what to do!" she said facing the floor.

"well let's get something to eat first" she hears Jaune suggested as she nods to him and they all began to walk out the room leaving the pup to sleep with her uncle.

Crescent POV

Later that night

Crescent dreams

Crescent saw herself standing in a ruined room it looked like a throne room of some sort looking around she suddenly gasp as she saw four women standing in front of she felt power coming from them all, power she once felt she suddenly realised who they were "maidens!" she said with venomous in her voice and drowning out her old lover's sword.

"before you attack you might want to reconsider" she hears one of them saying to her.

"reconsider why would I reconsider!?" she replied with anger while keeping her sword up.

"because we have a gift for you!" she hears one of them saying almost cheery.

"a gift ha sure!" she replied with sarcasm.

"oh but we do have a gift one that will end your miserable life" when she hears that she brought her sword up even more "say hello to her" she saw a girl walking out from behind them with a red cloak covering her entire face she gasped when she noticed the weapon it was a scythe and it's was red she realised who it was "RUBY!" she hears one of them shouting out making the girl to remove her cloak.

"Ruby!" Crescent said with shock in her voice "why bring her hear!" she said to them with anger.

"why to kill you of course" she gasped even more at this.

"she wouldn't kill me" she said trying to reassure herself.

"oh I will!" her whole body froze as she hears Ruby voice it was anger slowly she looks to Ruby and just then she saw her quickly drawing her weapon with a spin in the air just before she witnessed Ruby jumping up with a flip in the air landing in front of her "I will kill you for what you did!".

Crescent slowly back away stunned and shocked "WHAT!" she said with fear but just then she just barely brought her sword up in time to stop Ruby weapon from above.

Quickly she pushed Ruby back "Ruby please snap out of this" again she blocks another strike from her "this...!" she struggles a little feeling herself being forced to kneel on one leg using all her strength she pushes Ruby off again "this isn't like you please I don't want to hurt you!" she blocks another hit.

"hurt me" she heard before she was kicked in the stomach forcing her to impact on a wall "you all ready have by killing them" she dodged to the left to avoid a hit.

Seeing Ruby weapon imbedded into the wall, using this moment she quickly jumped up and flipped over Ruby and landed a few metres away from her, she watched Ruby struggled to free her weapon "you killed them all everyone we loved" she was confused at what Ruby was saying.

"no I didn't" she said jumping out the way from a bullet then blocking another strike from her "please I don't want to do this!" she pleaded while again she felt herself being forced to the ground.

Crescent was starting to feel herself losing control of her emotions as she struggled to keep them in check "see we found the perfect way to kill you".

"SHUT UP!" she screamed out in anger as she threw a fire ball towards them but just then she saw Ruby jumping in front of it taking it's full force "NNNNOOOOO...RUBY...!" she screamed out in fear.

Rushing to the now lifeless body she picked up Ruby's head "Ruby!" she said with tears as she received no motions "nnnnnoooo!".

End of dreams

"NNNOOOOO!" she screamed out as she woke up while shooting up off the ground quickly she stopped and looked around to find herself back in the forest and was breathing fast with a cold sweat.

Looking around she saw the fire she had was almost out and she saw two of her own Grimms one Ursa the other was her own Beowolf she also noticed she had the sword up like she was ready for an attack quickly she brought the sword down and began to hug herself "it was just a dream!" she kept repeating over and over again.

"it's okay it was only a dream" she hears the other half of her talking.

It's not okay" she said to her "everything about me isn't right!" she cried out.

5 minutes later

Once she calmed down she was just staring into the now freshly light fire still hugging into herself "do you think this is the right choice?" she asked the other half looking to her left she saw Dark Crescent looking confused "about us going to meet up with Ruby?".

"my honest opinion is yes" she hears her saying "because it's better than sitting in our home getting drunk and suffering from all these torment we are going through" she hears her sighing "I mean think about it we asked the village we attack to forgive us and they have, sure we are still being tortured but at least it's less".

Looking back at the fire "but that dream I had it felt so real!" she said with a hint of scared.

She then felt a pair of hands wrapping around her "and that all it'll be a dream, it doesn't mean it will happen some times dream are made from our emotions some times good or some times bad" she knew Dark Crescent was right.

"your right the quicker we get to Ruby the safer we will feel" she said before laying herself back down and then feeling her own Beowolf hugging into her as she hugged him back.

Three day's later

Ruby POV

Ruby and her friends were in the main sitting room along with her sister and Weiss who had just turned up they all had been given the truth about what been going on by Ozpin everyone was silent no one couldn't think what to say until Ruby was hugging into Luna the Grimm while she faced him "your daughter" she said.

Catching everyone attention "what about her?" she hears him asking.

"why didn't you tell her you were her father?" she asked him.

She sees him sigh in sadness "that...! wasn't an easy choice one of many mistakes in my life" she seeing him looking right at her "when she was born I was truly happy but the many mistakes I had made soon caught up to me I knew their were bad people out looking for me and if they knew I had a daughter they would harm her to get to me" she saw him pausing for a bit.

"I truly didn't want to leave her but I did it for her own safety!" she hears the sadness in his voice.

"wait!" Weiss interrupted "back at Beacon during the fight I saw Crescent but she was different" she hears Weiss saying making Ruby turn to see everyone looking at each other.

"yes that would be Dark Crescent her other half if she appeared at Beacon then this would be the second time she has appeared" Ruby looked at Luna who was sound asleep as she looked at the Grimm in sadness.

"what was the first time?" Ruby looked up to see Ren asking the question.

Everyone was silent looking at Ozpin "sigh...! the first time was a long time ago, we had received a report of a village being attacked constantly by Grimms and Raiders while we were getting a team ready Crescent was the only closes person to the village so we told her to get to the village and protect it while we get the team ready" Ruby saw him pausing for a bit "by the time we arrived with the team the village was no more".

Ruby and the others looked shocked "we came to a scene where there was a massacre, dead bodies laying around not one single soul was alive, building's destroyed carnage everywhere" Ruby noticed Ozpin taking a deep breath "the worst part was finding my daughter in the middle of the village but she wasn't Crescent it was Dark Crescent she was just standing there at a fountain I am sorry I can't continue it's too much" Ruby hears him finish.

The whole room was silent everyone couldn't think on what to say after hearing that so they just decided to just settle down for the night.

A few day's later

Ruby and her friends which now includes Yang and Weiss were now heading back to the school to see if they had the support they needed to raid the camp in order to secure the maiden as she was walking through the corridors she couldn't help but felt like something was wrong just then they she saw them coming to a huge room that was like a lobby were she saw that man standing up the top of the stairs she noticed how he looked worried seeing them all.

While Ruby was listening to the man speaking she noticed how he was acting much more weird and looking worried but she was interrupted when she hear Yang "mum!" she looked around seeing a Raven bird flying past them and the transforming in to Raven Yang mum as Qrow was talking to Raven just then she saw a portal opening and Cinder, Emerald and Mercury walking out Ruby and everyone else got their weapons ready while she saw Qrow trying to resolve this situation but couldn't as they all began to fight into each other.

Crescent POV

Crescent had finally arrived at Mistral it was night time now and as she walked through the almost empty street's with her cloak up and covering her head, she noticed the few people who were out still looked at her with fear she could already tell they knew who she was but she didn't care as she ignored them while passing through them "it seems they know who we are?" she hears her other half saying.

"yes" was all she said she came up to the main entrance to the school were she saw several white Fang members guarding the gate.

"halt where do you think your going?" she hears on of them demanding.

Keeping herself calm she looked at the one who asked that "simple I am going through those gates to find someone dear to me" she said to him.

"ha well I am sorry but you won't be going in there!" she hears the man saying with some amusing tone.

"I will get through those gates!" she with determination in her voice.

"who are you?" she hears a female asking.

Facing the female "I am Crescent" she hears gasp and whispers she even noticed a few of them looking scared.

"yer well still your not getting in" she sighs quietly to him "and besides it one against 20".

She smiled to him while chuckling she felt herself losing her hold on her emotions "I never said I was out number but I will give you one chance leave now and let me be" she said hoping they would leave.

"can't do our orders were to stay here" she closes her eyes.

"then I am sorry" she said while summoning some glyphs and a few different types of her Grimms came out "get these people out of my way please and try not kill them" she said to one of her Grimms who nodded and roared which made the other to charge ahead into the white Fang.

As she staid behind looking for her chance she smiled when she spotted it an opening in amongst the fight quickly rushing through she gasped out of surprised as a bullet just nearly hits her in the head turning she saw that same man standing to her left with a pistol out and was aiming at her "like I said you ain't getting in there".

Quickly she made an ice ball and threw it at him with such a speed leaving him no chance to dodge it she watched it hitting him in the legs and froze them to the ground only leaving the top part of him unfrozen she noticed "Crescent let me out I can fight for you".

She hears Dark Crescent saying "no I need to do this one on my own" she said walking up to him "I am sorry but like I said I am getting in there I did give you a chance but you never taken it" she said walking away from the man.

While she walked through the school ground she saw another battle going with some White Fangs and a bunch of Faunus people she just caught her own Grimms about to jump in but she stopped them in time "no this isn't our fight" she said while making them disappear as to keep them and the other Faunus people safe.

While she looked over the battle she saw Blake in amongst them fighting she also noticed two of the white Fang people were sneaking up to her and was about to kill her quickly she brought out her bow and arrows and take aim.

...

Blake POV

Blake punched a white Fang member in the head knocking them out as she looked around the battle she saw a mysterious figure in the distance wearing a cloak she just then saw the figure holding a bow and arrows and was aiming it right at her with out any warning she just saw two arrows flying right past her head, looking in the direction they went she gasped in shock seeing two white Fang people with one arrow each through their chest as they collapsed to the ground she quickly turned back to the figure and saw the person removing their cloak.

She gasped when she saw who it was "Crescent!" she said quietly and seeing her give a quick nod as she nod back to her before she rushed off to find her friends.

Crescent POV

She watched Blake rushing off to somewhere before her attention was caught by a screaming person turning to her right she saw a tall male running towards her using her bow and the person momentum she flips the person up over her head and bringing the person down on to the ground and quickly swings her bow to knock them out.

Before she could do anything else she hears another screaming she sighs seeing it's another white Fang member rushing to her "stupid!" she says annoyed by this while she staid in her spot she just then saw her own Beowolf jumping out of nowhere knocking into the person with such a force causing the person to fly through the air and crashing into a building she turned to her Grimm and smiled with a nod as she walked off in the same directions as Blake.

...

Emerald POV

Emerald smiled seeing Ruby and her friends were tired she was about go for Ruby when she suddenly felt something behind her, something she felt back at Beacon slowly turning around she gasped out of fear seeing it was her Crescent and she saw the girl being surrounded by two huge Ursa Grimm while seeing the girl smiling at her "hello again!" she hears her saying in a creepy way "remember me and him" she watched as the girl help out a hand and glyph appeared and that same small snake Grimm appeared.

As she looked at it she could still feel the affect that thing did to her.

...

Ruby POV

Ruby looked up to the huge hole in the wall when she gasped out of surprise seeing Crescent was standing there she noticed the two huge Ursa standing next to her but just then she saw Luna in the corner looking excited to see Crescent.

"Crescent" Ruby said out of shock as her feeling were now flaring up at the sight of her she watched as Crescent made her way passed Mercury and Emerald both not even daring to fight her she noted how both of them looked petrified at her "hello love" she hears Crescent saying to her.

"hay" was all she said.

"did they hurt you!?" she hear her asking with a hint of anger and concern.

"no" she said.

She saw her smiling "how are you all holding up?".

"not bad but Lionheart got away he betrayed Ozpin".

Crescent POV

Hearing someone betraying her father got her anger "which direction he went?" she asked seeing them all pointing to a door "you two stay here I will get him" she said to her two Ursa then facing Ruby "stay safe while I go get him" she said to her before walking off up the stair and through the door.
