Author's Note:

Hey guys! It's been a while and I didn't mean to abandon this story for the past year but junior year was really overwhelming especially with the pandemic. I'm gonna try and continue this story even if it takes me like ten years. I have it all planned out in my notebook so I just need to turn it into a readable story. Hopefully you guys like this and I thank everyone who took their time to read this. I did read over my previous chapters and I made plenty of writing and grammar mistakes. I took a Creative Writing class so I do hope I have better writing skills now. Hope you enjoy! :)

PS: I'm writing after quite a while so if there is anything to improve on or if you find some mistakes please do let me know!

Tris POV:

Two weeks have gone by. Tobias took really good care of me and I don't feel any pain at all. My hands have some small scars from from I broke those plates but other then that I have completely healed.

Today the initiates are coming. Though we didn't attend the actual ceremony - to avoid Marcus mainly - we still have an idea of our initiates. A lot of Erudite transferred this year and a few Candor. Only two Amity and no Abnegation might become Dauntless. I was excited for my first year of training initiates. The best part was I got to do it with him. I looked over at him and he gave me a smile. I always loved his perfect smile.

Facing back to the net, I tried to see who would jump first. I saw a blur of yellow come down. A boy dressed in full yellow had jumped first. He was an Amity. He looked petrified but grabbed Four's outstretched hand.

"What's your name?" I heard him ask. I smiled remembering when Four asked me.

"Jas - wait no - Jackson," He replied fumbling his fingers.

Four nodded and shouted, "Jackson, first-jumper!"

We waited as the rest of our initiates jumped down. Christina and Uriah would be training the Dauntless-born this year. We had a total of ten Dauntless-born and eleven transfers; five Erudite, four Candor, and two Amity. I glanced at our group. The Erudite seemed pretty strong minus one scrawny one. The rest were average or small, like expected.

I noticed one of the Erudite girls staring at Four. I was clenching my hands until I heard Four's voice.

"Alright listen up! We are your instructors this year and expect only the best from you," He hadn't changed much from initiation; same voice, same attitude.

"Dauntless-born will be going with Christina and Uriah," They waved and ten initiates scattered over to them. I watched as they led them away.

"The rest of you will be staying with us. My name is Four and that over there is Six," Four pointed at me and I did the best to look intimidating. It seemed to work as none of the initiates looked me or Four in the eye. Except for one Candor boy who clearly was not over speaking what's on his mind.

"Who has numbers for names? That's just stu..." he didn't finish his sentence as he saw Four taking long strides towards him. Four towered over the small boy and leaned in.

"What's your name?" Four asked in a monotone voice.

"Adrian," the boy looked down.

"Well Adrian. If I wanted to deal with Candor smart-mouths I would've joined their faction. I'd suggest you shut it," Four turned on his heel and continued the tour. It took a lot to keep from laughing as I remember Christina being in Adrian's spot. Christina still finds Four a bit scary but manages to talk to him without backing away.

I walked next to Four as he continued explaining the place. We passed the Pit and I saw the initiates move towards the center of the path, staying away from the railings in case they fall off.

Last night, Four and I discussed training the initiates. I agreed that I'll be called Six, now that my fear of intimacy is gone. It's still there, but not as severe. Tobias helped me through it and though the thought still makes me nervous, I'm not afraid of it.

The tour finished and Four sent off the initiates for lunch while reminding them that training is at 7:00 am.

Once the last of the initiates disappeared, Four grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. I cupped his face in my hands as he lifted me onto a table in the training room. He leaned in, gently kissing with his soft lips. I replied back, biting his lip to tease him. I could feel him smiling against my lips. We pulled back, staring at each other's glittering eyes.

Tobias POV:

I held Tris' hand as we walked to the cafeteria I kept smiling despite my best efforts to look intimidating. Tris was the reason for my smile. A few feet from the entrance, we both stopped to straighten ourselves out. I could see a hickey that I left on Tris' neck. I walked over and ran my fingers over it. Tris quickly set her hair to cover it as I fixed a few of her fly away strands. I could see her cheeks reddening and gave her one last peck on the lips.

We walked into the cafeteria, scanning for the table with our friends. Uriah and Zeke were waving us over and I tapped Tris to let her know where our friends were. After getting our lunch, we sat down next to each other.

"So did any of the initiates find out yet?" Christina asked twirling her hair.

"Nope," Tris took a huge bite out of her muffin. Crumbs fell on the table. I liked this about her. her carelessness for neatness. She didn't even have to try and look beautiful, she just was.

"Yo Four," Zeke was snapping his fingers in my face. I shook myself out of my daydreaming.

"We all know you are so mesmerized by Tris but could you make it a little less obvious," Uriah added. I noticed the whole table was staring at me with big smiles. Tris was smirking.

"Yeah yeah, as if you aren't head over heels for Marlene," I replied trying to take the attention off me. It worked as Uriah and Marlene both started blushing. The table laughed at them.

"Wait Tris, what's on your neck?" Christina pointed her eyes widening.

Uh oh. I didn't realize and neither did Tris. Her hair had moved and her hickey was in clear sight.

"At least we know why they were late," Uriah said raising his eyebrows at me. Tris hurried to cover her neck as we both blushed.

Finishing lunch, Tris and I said goodbye to our friends and we continued on to our apartment.
