Tobias POV:
I was waiting in the dining hall with our friends. Only Tris was missing. I remember her saying she was going to take a nap so I figured she overslept. I told our friends that I'd go get Tris and just as I stood up, the cafeteria went silent. I was confused. Looking around, I saw everyone's eyes at the entrance. There, Tris was standing, grabbing hold of the doorway. She was covered in blood and sweat.
"Tris!" I yelled, rushing forward to catch her just as she fainted.
The rest of our friends ran behind me. Zeke helped put Tris in my arms. We all went to the infirmary where the doctors immediately laid Tris on a stretcher as they saw her condition. I didn't want to leave her, but the doctors said we had to wait. I slid down against the wall, Zeke sitting down right next to me. I could hear Christina crying while Will and Shauna tried to calm her down. Uriah and Marlene were both quiet as they sat down, leaning on each other.
"She'll be alright don't worry," Zeke said, genuine concern in his eyes. I nodded, unable to speak.
What happened that put Tris in this state? I thought over all the potential suspects. The only person who could've done this was Peter, as he hadn't been caught yet. I suddenly got up, and walked out of the infirmary. I could hear Zeke calling after me but I didn't stop. I headed straight to the Pit, where Tris came from. I saw Peter laying there, already beaten up. Zeke, who was running behind me, skidded to a stop.
"Him again?" Zeke said. I strode over to Peter, grabbing his shirt color.
"Let go of me!" Peter said kicking and flailing his arms.
I didn't listen. I dragged him behind me as Zeke followed. Stopping in front of Max's office, I opened the door. Max was on the phone.
"Whose ther- oh my," Max's eyes widened, "I'll call you back later," He said to the person on the phone. I dragged Peter inside, Zeke close behind.
"What happened?" Max asked. I stayed silent. Zeke spoke up.
"This monster attacked Tris again," Zeke crossed his arm.
"I want him locked up. Right now," I said, staring Max straight in the eye.
"Of course. We were looking for him and I'm glad you found him. He's going straight to prison. Is Tris-"
"She's in the infirmary," I cut him off. Max nodded as I walked out the door.
Zeke put a hand on my shoulder and I stopped.
"Are you.. okay?" He asked.
"I'll be fine. I just need... some alone time," I sighed.
"I'll go back to the infirmary. I'll call you when Tris wakes up," Zeke left and I headed straight to the chasm.
I leaned against the railing, thinking. At least Peter got beat up and caught this time. I stood there, staring at the cloudy sky. Slight raindrops started falling. An hour or two must have went by; me alone with my thoughts. My phone started ringing. Zeke was calling.
"Tris is awake,"
"I'm coming," I quickly ran to the infirmary. My friends were standing next to a doctor.
"What happened to her?" I interrupted.
"Well, she has a few broken ribs. Luckily, her nose is okay. We were able to stop the bleeding. It'll still hurt but it should heal,"
"Can we see her?" Christina asked.
"Yes, but try not to stress her out too much," The doctor smiled before moving on to the next patient.
We entered the second door in the hallway and saw Tris. She smiled slightly lifting her hand out to me. I moved forward and grabbed it, taking a seat by her bed.
"When can I get out of here?" She said.
"You do realize you have broken ribs," Shauna said, raising her eyebrow. Tris groaned.
"I handed Peter over to Max. He's going to prison now," Tris grinned.
"Did you find the three initiates?" Tris asked.
"You fought four people at once?!" Marlene exclaimed. Tris nodded.
"Who were the initiates?" I asked.
"Damien, Adrian, and Ethan. The troublemaker trio," Tris said.
I don't understand why everyone was after Tris. She didn't do nothing to them.
"Are you okay now?" Will asked.
"Besides having my ribs broken, yea pretty much," We all laughed.
"Great! I love seeing Four as a big teddy bear, it's kind of cute" Uriah wiggled his eyebrows. I glared at him.
Tris leaned over and kissed my on the cheek. Before she could pull back, I cupped her face and kissed her gently, but for a long time. She responded back deepening the kiss.
"Okay, that's enough! I can't look!" Uriah said. He covered his eyes with his hands but was peeking through his fingers.
"Uriah!" Christina said. She slapped the back of his neck.
"Ow!"
"You two need to quit bickering at every chance you get," Will stepped in between them.
It was nice having a caring friend group.
While everyone bickered and talked among themselves, I whispered to Tris.
"Do you want to disqualify the initiates?" I waited expectantly.
I could see her thinking and pondering over the outcomes.
"No. Their attack was pretty weak and now I just have an excuse to pick on them," She grinned.
Our friends slowly trickled out of the room, leaving Tris and I alone. The doctor said Tris could leave in the morning and she should rest. Tris refused obviously, but I managed to have her promise that she won't do anything besides speak during training.
