The Morning Fiasco

A/N: read Byaruki thoughts first, then Game of Life, and then Blasted SoulSwap in my community. They would give you the explanation.

"Nii-sama?! " Rukia exclaimed in consternation.

'How?!

' How did we exchanged bodies?! Rukia thought as he stood from his bed, about to approach Byakuya, who was in her body.

At the look of consternation, Byakuya saw in his own body, he could not help but close her eyes, as the steering pain in her head, threatens to beat like a bass.

Flashback...

As a newly assigned Captain of squad 13, Rukia's mission is to investigate, the ruins of Vandenrich : kingdom of the fallen Quincy armies.

Due to the nature of the saturated place, Rukia along with Byakuya, her senior mission supervisor, captain of squad 6, embarked to their mission, using a special gigae, that enables them to move freely in that realm without being pulled back to Soul Society.

For they were tasked to locate the possible remains of Yuhabach, father of all Quincy, who had been defeated 5 years ago.

As the dynamic duo, they worked in complete sync and professionalism, that they were able to scan the entire area with efficiency.

Everything had been fine until yesterday.

Sudden light appeared as fast as a lightning, followed by complete darkness.

Then they found themselves, back at squad 12th barracks.

The 12th scientists explained to them that, the realm ejected them, and they were unable to reopen the realm for some reason. And that they should retire home, and report to Captain commander tomorrow morning.

And thus, the Kuchiki combie returned to the Kuchiki manor in silence. Each confused and feeling anxious. Analyzing the anomaly that just happened.

As they retire to their rooms, Rukia bid Byakuya a goodnight as she bowed respectfully. Though, she had so many questions that she wanted to ask Byakuya, she opted to keep silent, and put it off for tomorrow.

"We have to prepare for the captain's meeting, Rukia" Byakuya stated as she turned around, unable to look at his body, make those simpish expressions.

At those words, he couldn't help but feel her pretty face, heat-up at the thought of taking his regular morning shower routine.

Who would have thought that Byakuya had the decency to blush at the thought of going to bath in Rukia's body.

Luckily, Rukia was still preoccupied with their delimma, and is unaware of how her body just stop midstep, who is currently Byakuya.

And at that moment, one of the servants decided to knock at Byakuya's bedroom door, and announced an equivalent of a nuclear explosion news.

"Ohayo Kuchiki-Sama, Lady Kuchiki. Your baths were properly warmed as usual, we have prepared the onsen for the ceremony"

Ceremony?

Rukia thought in wonder, it did not even occur to her that, they were supposed to bath together and the fact that it is 'usual'

But Byakuya realized and understood the implications immediately. And it had blown his mind.

If what the servant said was correct…

Their 'blasted' bodyswap is just a piece of the anomaly.

For he knew what the 'ceremony' means.

At this realization, his mind run wild with thoughts.

"Rukia" Byakuya called using Rukia's voice, almost baritone in its sound, but adorable in his ears.

At hearing her name called by her body once again, Rukia couldn't help but notice how her voice sounded.

And a piece of her felt something, or was it her heart. Or Byakuya's heart?

She doesn't know anymore, but the servant's announcement made her mind sunk into further confusion.

What does she mean by your baths? Are they supposed to bath together? Why? That never happened before.

Will, except back then at Kerenjie's onsen, but it had been quite different. They were not alone then.

And what does she mean by 'usual?`

"It seemed like, we were caught in a place unlike our own, Rukia" Byakuya stated as he look at his face, that now belonged to Rukia.

That statement, broke Rukia out of her reverie. But amazingly, she felt nothing but calm.

She is a captain after all, and she's with Byakuya, the most reliable person in her life. They will surely survive anything anomaly might throw at them.

And this is nothing to worry about.

"Hai" Rukia agreed.

…

But that confidence almost faded away at the revelation that, they were supposed to be a childless decade long couple, struggling with their marriage.

During their breakfast, after skipping the bathing part, preferring to change their clothes without going through the ordeal of certain embarrassment.

But that's not to say that, the part when they change their clothes wasn't plagued with embarrassing situation itself.

Especially when Byakuya had to help Rukia with putting his Kenseikan on his hair, that now belongs to Rukia.

And they knew for sure, that the seducing warmth that they had felt from each other's body, wasn't something they could deny. But must.

They are after all, adopted and adoptee siblings, not to mention, in laws by virtue of Hisana's marriage to Byakuya.

Apart of Rukia felt guilty. Though, it was unfair that he was her first love, and yet they were not destined to be together, she could not just betray Byakuya's trust and Hisana's memory, by confessing her undying love for Byakuya.

Byakuya….

And the possibility of him not reciprocating her love, might cause her to break, along with their bond as makeshift family for all those decades.

And thus she must not act upon her attraction to him.

Not even consider any wild imagination.

She must know her place.

Her place as his adopted sister, sister in law.

Byakuya on the other hand, felt foolish. Because her heart kept beating like a drum inside her female chest. And she could not command her body to not react at Rukia's warmth.

Being in her body, seeing herself comb his hair and putting on his Kenseikan. It made her realize that they look too good together.

So why should they must not be together?

This ironic question, was what had haunted him even back then, when he had fetched her from the academy.

Thinking of the reasons they should not be together, just so he would not shame her, and his clan.

Because he was dying to claim her as his.

But it's not meant to be. He isn't a foolish young man anymore, he is Kuchiki Byakuya, 28th head of the Kuchiki clan, and captain of squad 6. He has a reputation and a clan, as well as Rukia's honor to protect at all cost.

If only, he had a second chance in life, he would have swallowed his pride and everything else, just so, he would not have adopted her. And marry her instead.

He would still be able to fulfill a part of Hisana's wish, albeit not as what she intend.

Those thought had plagued his conscience, haunting him.

But his pride and everything else, was bigger than her supposed attraction to her. And once again, he ignored his heart, and followed his logic instead.

Which ended up tormenting him, without remorse. Those constant temptation and sleepless nights, for all these years.

How terrible it was to battle the lure of someone so close, but so untouchable.

And he knew that, if he so wishes, he could have had her, knowing that she admires him.

But he should not, must not be selfish like he did with Hisana.

And thus, he had stopped himself over and over again upto a point that he had decided to finally marry another, to solve both of his pressing problems.

His dangerous attraction to Rukia, and the Elders insistent for him to remarry and produce a heir.

During the whole ordeal of fixing his Kenseikan on his hair, Rukia had been totally silent, this wonders him, thus he stared at where her focus is.

And there he saw the image of Rukia lovingly fixing his Kenseikan upon his hair, like a doting wife do, for her husband.

And realized that he was blushing the whole time, or rather, Rukia that was on his body was blushing with shyness at their closeness, while staring at the image reflected on the mirrors.

They looked like they're meant for each other.

Back at the dining room, Rukia and Byakuya, were surrounded by old and new member of the Kuchiki clan Elders council.

Each having a look of surprise, concern and horror…

"With all due honor, our respected clan leader, Lady Kuchiki. May we ask, why did you let Kuchiki-Sama don your Kenseikan?" the Eldest among the Elder asked Byakuya, who was inside Rukia's body.

While Rukia on the other hand, that was inside Byakuya's body, were stared down by the Elders due to the Kenseikan.

But why?

Byakuya is the head of the Kuchiki clan, and he has the right to wear the Kenseikan.

And also, why did they address her, as the head of the Kuchiki clan?

What's happening?!

Rukia's thought run wild, as she basked the contempt from other Elders, which they shouldn't dare to do so, seeing as she's in Byakuya's body.

At this Byakuya who was in Rukia's body, just kept his silence, waiting for them to explain themselves. While being grateful that Rukia had been able to maintain his stoic expression on his face.

"Rukia-Sama, please reconsider. Don't abandon your post, just because you were unable to bare a child for Kuchiki-sama" an Elder said in concern, speaking as if Byakuya was invisible in the room.

At this revelation, Byakuya and Rukia was struck with unbelief.

There is no way, this is happening.

"It was admirable that you would sacrifice everything for our clan, but giving up your position, and assigning an omai for Byakuya-sama's second wife, is going to devalue your position" an Elder worriedly blurted out.

At this Byakuya, looked at his body, where Rukia resides.

In turn, Rukia looked at Byakuya, worried that the situation had escalated rapidly.

From having their body swapped, to learning that they were 10 years childless married couple, to Rukia being the head of the Kuchiki clan, and their misunderstanding about Byakuya wearing the Kenseikan, and Byakuya's omai to find a second wife that was prepared by Rukia for some reason.

Rukia does not know what to think anymore. Or what to feel.

"Rukia-sama, we beg you, just try to undergo another test with the 12th, they might find a solution to our situation, don't be hasty" they said in concert.

At this point, everyone looked at Byakuya, asking for his opinion.

Rukia is now unfortunately in the hot seat.

Trying to act like how she had seen Byakuya act. And with her Kuchiki death glare, every one were finally reminded of their place.

Internally, Rukia patted herself, for a job well done.

Not long after a few exchanges of words, the Elders left the couple on their own. After they had the assurance that, Rukia and Byakuya would once again try to produce a heir, at all cost.

Which left the pair in a lurch.

"Nii-sama" Rukia started to say, as he stared at her body, who was Byakuya.

Rukia just stared at Byakuya, contemplating. For indeed, they were in a very tight situation.

Byakuya remained silent, waiting for Rukia's thoughts on their situation.

"I believe we have to act as the people we are expected as, just until we could find a way to return to our dimension" Rukia concluded with firmness.

Byakuya could not help but admire her Nii-sama.

For she looked so beautiful when she's this confident.

"Hai, Nii-sama" Byakuya agreed with almost goofy-handsome look in his face.

Rukia had to turn away at the sight of his face, looking like that. For he doesn't smile like that. Not with all his pearly teeth showing.

"We should start by familiarizing one another's personality" Rukia stated after some time.

"Hai, Nii-sama" Byakuya agreed with his plan.

"You can start by addressing me as 'Anata', Shujin" Rukia said with a reddish face, unable to hide his feelings effectively, now that he's inside Rukia's body.

At this, Byakuya would have blushed up to the roots of his hair, if she's inside her own body, when she asked her to address him as his sweetheart [Anata].

And the fact that Byakuya addressed her as 'my only' husband in the most submissive way, blown her mind to the fantasy she used to have.

She used to dream how would it feel like to call him, her dear husband.

And now, he is her husband!

This situation might actually be her wildest imagination, or her nastiest nightmare. Showing her the things she craved the most, and then realizing that this were all a twisted dream.

"Shujin" Byakuya called Rukia with her softest voice, she did not know that she had.

At this, Rukia's did not know what to feel anymore. "Hai, Anata? " she asked, trying not to embarrass Byakuya's body.

At this, Byakuya's heart, felt like it would jump out of her body.

But nonetheless, she extend her hand to grab Byakuya's hand, just the way he had imagined Rukia would do, all these years.

Seeing her hand that was extended to her, Byakuya hold unto her hand, feeling like butterflies were fluttering inside his stomach. As heat rose from their joined fingers, up to his entire body.

It reminded her, of their first meeting.

Because, yes. She still loves him after everything that had happened. Even when he had chosen to abandon their love, back then.

Without much word, Byakuya and Rukia, proceed towards their next destination, squad 1, to meet the captain commander. Hopefully, find solution to their problem.

But for now, she would enjoy the feeling of their joined hands, and the fact that she is now free to love him.

"Anata" Rukia called Byakuya, who was silently walking beside him, seemingly nervous.

At that, Byakuya looked up at his face, seeing his eyes lit with so much love, it blown him away.

He would have chastised Rukia for letting his face look that way, but what could he do, when he actually like the fact that he was capable of showing such love.

Rukia suddenly felt Byakuya tug his hand, and when he looked down at her, she planted a kiss in his lips.

This action shocked him initially, as he gradually lose track of their surroundings, kissing her with all the love and admiration she have for him

"Byakuya" Rukia moaned in between their kisses, as they reached a secluded alley, just a few blocks away from the squad 1.

"Rukia" Byakuya whispered with her heated breath hitting his lips. Wanting nothing more than to keep claiming this feeling he had denied himself for so long.

And thus, instead of reporting to the captain commanders office, Byakuya and Rukia, hurriedly went back to the Kuchiki manor, to resume their activities.

And this time, they had decided to free themselves from now inexistent chains.

They are now free to love one another, knowing that in this world, they were a married couple.

And as such, they had finally consummated. Relishing from this incredible opportunity, to fulfill one another's needs and desires.

The whole Kuchiki manor celebrated silently at the couples' mending faded married life.

And for the next weeks, Rukia and Byakuya were engaged in a very productive activity, of trying to produce a heir.

Up until a month ended, and Rukia was finally congratulated with a news of a fetus living inside her womb.

Byakuya felt weird that her body was changing as her pregnancy progresses, but at the same time, he was content, knowing that Rukia was finally his.

And when they returned to their real world, he would definitely marry her as soon as possible. And fill the Kuchiki manor with pitter patter of small feets running around the house.
