As I was trying to convince everyone that there are no spirits in this old school, the girl named Kuroda burst out, "I am telling the truth. I was attacked in the second hallway by a strong spirit". Naru switched on the screens in front of him to review the second hallway footage to see what happened but before we could see what happened the camera stopped working. Naru said to Kuroda that sometimes when ghosts or spirits are nearby most of the electronic equipment stop working. Kuroda had a small hopeful smile on her face and Mai started looking tense.
Ayako stood up suddenly and started walking towards door saying, "I've had enough of this ghost school and I will remove the ghost from here alone. I can't hang around you people all the time."
The next morning Ayako started Norito, shinto incantations, I was at the base seeing all this in the monitors with Kuroda, suddenly Kuroda said that she wanted to use washroom and went outside, I was focused on the monitors I didn't see where she went. After sometime she came back and we started watching Ayako together.
When Ayako finished her prayers and was going out, suddenly all the mirrors on the door broke and the principal was injured with all the glass flying. After calling the ambulance and sending the principal to hospital everyone was tensed. Kuroda was irking Ayako by saying that she was unable to send the ghost away. I interrupted and said, "This was an accident." Ayako agreed and said, "Yes, I did everything correctly-". "There were never any spirits here to begin with so your prayers wouldn't have worked to begin with."
Everybody returned and were discussing whether this is an accident or caused by an evil spirit. Naru seemed to be puzzled whether there really was spirit or some other phenomenon is occurring here when Mai noticed something. Everybody moved towards her and saw that a chair was in a classroom when here wasn't any before. Kuroda asked whether this could be a poltergeist. Naru was impressed by her knowledge but wasn't convinced that this could be the same case because there wasn't any thermal readings on the chair and objects moved by poltergeist are warm to the touch. John countered and said, "But if we follow E. Tisane's theory". Naru said, "E. Tisane was a French policeman who classified poltergeisting. Shaking objects, opening and closing doors, making noises etc. are the result of poltergeist. There are nine of them. If we apply that theory here we have opening and closing of doors, moving objects and glass breaking. "What about Kuroda-San being attacked?" Mai asked. "It was her imagination." Kuroda turned towards me and said, "Can you even sense spirits. Why don't you just admit that there is a real spirit here". I was honestly pissed at her for saying that and was about to retort back but before I could say something Naru interrupted me, "I never said that there is certainly a spirit here". I was really happy to get his support without blackmailing him.
"Are you really sticking up for her because she is a little bit more pretty than most people" Kuroda said incredulously. I was almost blushing after her this statement but I also wanted to smack her for saying so. I mean I know I am pretty but there is no need to be incredulous about it. "She is a really talented in what she does and I think she deserves proper respect for that" Naru said. Now I was surely blushing because what is more lovely than the guy you're in love with complementing you. Suddenly rapping sounds could be heard everywhere and I remembered that I fell down from the school building because of my carelessness.
"Now the rapping sounds are added to the bunch. All the signs are pointing towards a strong spirit. Are you really sure that a spirit would not attack us at anytime" Takiagawa-San asked. Naru was quite for sometime and asked about John's opinion. "I think it is a big possibility" John said. Naru said that he will tell about his opinion after researching sometime. He moved out of there and after hesitating about it I ran after him.
"Shibuya-san can I talk to you about something" I said to him when he reached his van or at least I hope that's what I said to him because my heart was pounding so heavily that I didn't even hear what I said. After a whole lifetime I was talking to him alone regardless this was for work purposes.
"Yes?" he said pulling me out of my thoughts. "Actually, I wanted to talk about the case" I said. "Yes, what about it?" Naru asked. "I think Kuroda-san is behind all the uh. stuff happening" I told him and that caught his interest. He scrutinized me and despite the ridiculousness of the situation I was blushing. "And how did you come to that conclusion?" Naru asked me still keeping his eyes at me. "Call it a hunch or something but half of the phenomenon of poltergeist is caused by humans who are seeking attention or those who are neglected by others and I think, but am not sure about it, that Kuroda-san have some psychic abilities" I said squirming under his intense gaze. He stared at me for some time, that I was starting to feel uncomfortable, and said, "I know women have some extra ordinary sixth sense but we can't put the basis of our case on it and if Kuroda-san have some psychic abilities we don't have any proof about it" Naru told me in his infuriating know-it-all way. I know my suggestion was hard to believe and to certain extend unbelievable but he didn't have to be a jerk about it. "Yeah, well it is way better than your suggestion of putting all this on ground sinking" I said in anger without realising what I said. I don't know if this ground was sinking or not but my heart was fully drowned after I realized what I said. I looked towards Naru and saw his widened eyes. "Oh, would you look at the time, its already 2 pm and I didn't have had my lunch yet. I think I should go Shibuya-san" I said to him so fast that even I was shocked. I don't think I ever ran so fast in my life before. The only thought in my mid was that Masako you seriously messed up.
