Chapter 3: Five Years Later…

Author's Note.

Welcome to Act 1 of Pure Light: A Different Tale!

Since this is a new "act" in this story, I will do a quick summary of what has occurred in the story so far.

Cynder and Team Alpha discovered Validor in 1562, Cynder spared Validor's life.

Validor made friends with Tori, Burner, and Electroy, in 1566.

Validor knows the Ice element, learnt in 1567, at least from what we've heard and seen.

Good number of Freedom Flyers, including Heastah and all of Team Alpha, know of Vale's true identity.

Incendicus/Doucheicus is dead, killed by Spyro.

Bloody Dawn happened same time as the original comic, in 1573.

Tori's parents are dead, killed by darkers. Guard unable to save them, but survives.

Burner's parents are most likely alive, having been saved by Cynder.

Kyron is, with no proof to infer otherwise, dead.

Heastah still remains in Warfang immediately after the Bloody Dawn, but is still wounded; joins reserve.

Validor is determined to end the war.

So, with that summary done, we can begin the next chapter in this tale!

And, well, since five years have passed since the Dawn, I'm sure there are some new questions to be answered. Let us hope a good chunk of them are.

Onto the chapter!

Chapter 3: Five Years Later…

The sun shown above Warfang as a new day began. The hour began to go by, and eventually the streets began to bustle, as dragons and moles started to leave their homes to go about their day.

Most of all, one young sixteen year old dragon, living in the 2nd class district.

Validor Starwing yawned, stretching out as he woke up from his long rest.

It has been five whole years since that day. Five long and hard years since he last saw his father. Five years since he saw Spyro kill Incendicus. Five years since he finally saw the threat posed by the enemy.

Five years since he began his real training.

Ever since he saw one of the Dark Masters, he knew exactly what he was fighting against. As a result, not one day has passed since he began to train as hard as he could, not a single one has he skipped training. He knew very well that he was a purple dragon, meaning everyone was going to be watching him very closely in case he fell. He would show them. He was no monster. He simply can't become like the others. He can't betray the trust others have put in him.

It wasn't long before he went on his way, leaving home to take in the fresh air. He spread his wings out, and he took off into the sky, angling himself towards the park, where he knew his friends would be. In a few minutes, he came in to land, softly yet gracefully.

"Where are they?" Validor was confused, unsure as to why he couldn't see his friends anywhere. One of them, typically Burner, was here around this time.

"Oh well. We planned to meet up later after school, so I guess it all works out," Validor muttered to himself. He turned around, but suddenly slammed into someone. He fell to the ground, though he quickly recovered himself. He looked up, and immediately recognised the dragon.

Flaron Singetail, Royal Guard, and one of the more popular dragons in the city. He was the guard who Vale ran into during the Dawn, and he was one of the few high class dragons that the low class people actually trusted, if only a little. He actually took the job to do his actual job of being a guard, seeing it as just a title and nothing more. He was very down to earth for being first class, and had a way with words that nearly rivalled Kyron.

"Oops, sorry Singetail, my bad." Validor said.

"It's fine, kid, I wasn't really paying attention," the guard apologised, "best be on your way kiddo." the guard continued walking along.

"Hey, do you know if Cynder has any appointments for today?" Vale asked.

"Other than the usual, no," Singetail said, "oh, just remembered, the Princess asked for your presence at the palace. Sounded pretty important."

"Got it. Thanks Singetail!" Vale called out as he moved along.

'Well, let's see what the Princess wants with me.' Vale thought, and he spread his wings and took off, making his way towards the palace. While in the sky, he recounted how he and Flaron met, five years ago, during the Dawn. After that time, the two of them occasionally saw each other, which eventually culminated to him becoming a friend of the family. He had a pretty lengthy routine, but since being recently reassigned to his current post, he and Vale were able to chat more often, even when he was working.

He still remembered what happened during the Bloody Dawn. And he still felt guilty that he was unable to warn anyone of the darkers that had entered the city in a timely manner. They had attacked multiple important households, killing a few of the families. Some survived, but were terribly wounded. Flaron had actually caught the trail of the darkers and followed them, catching up to them by the time they attacked one of the households. He wasn't able to stop them from killing a few people, but he did cause enough trouble for them to back off, somehow escaping death thanks to their apparent rushed escape from the city.

For a few months after the Bloody Dawn, Vale hadn't seen TJ around, until he and Isky found her basically half dead in a back alley in the 3rd class district. After that, they had learnt her parents had been killed by some of the darkers that Flaron had been unable to stop. As a result, Vale felt responsible for their deaths, even though they were rude and snobby. She still had a wound from her near death experience too. Currently she is living with Isky's family, who definitely have been a lot better than her biological parents when it came to pretty much everything.

Although being out and about, all by his very lonesome, somehow, Electroy had been able to avoid a lot of the danger. No one has any idea how. Vale chalked it up to him being lucky or whatever.

And Burner has had a lot happen to him. Not long after the Bloody Dawn ended, his parents had been found out having children, which went against the Freedom Flyers rule about both parents serving. The two were heavily punished, with Blazer being taken down in rank and Fox sent back home. Cynder was very much not impressed by their lie. Burner had spent the past five years with his mother, along with his little brothers. Over the years, he had built a bit of respect for the General, not only for saving his parents during the Dawn, but also for how she cared about everyone under her command.

As for himself…

Well, he didn't sit on his butt during the past five years. He has been training and training and training, spending many days off school to continue his rigorous training with the Freedom Flyers. Elemental training, combat training, military training, all sorts of training. His life pretty much was a routine of different forms of, well, training. He had long since known he was effectively being groomed to become a new member of Team Alpha, which he sort of agreed but also disagreed with, since he should be protected by the best of the best should things go wrong, but he wanted to feel like he wasn't being pampered most of the time. But he didn't argue it, he agreed that it was for the best. Besides that, his training had borne fruit, granting him control over not just ice, but also fire, electricity, wind and earth.

Cynder was his teacher in melee combat, as always, training him in how to fight properly. They both agreed that once Malefor realises what happened, he might regret ever training Cynder on how to fight, as she was training him to fight the same way she had, with some adjustments due to his tail spikes. She also was his teacher in the ways of the wind element. When he had gotten that element, he had gone to Tori for some information, which was in hindsight rather risky but it paid off in the end.

Heastah, unfortunately, had to retire from being his teacher in the ice element, due to what happened during the Bloody Dawn. However, his daughter Isky, who had been told of his true identity shortly after the Dawn, was more than willing to fill that gap. Heck, he believed she was an arguably better teacher than her old man.

Flame, in the times he was available, was his teacher in the fire element. The two still didn't get along, not even the Dawn changed that. Though Flame WAS trying to make some amends, the little he can.

The lack of any truly experienced electricity and earth dragon in the Freedom Flyers that could be trusted had, at first, been a roadblock, but the Guardians were more than willing to provide the young purple with training at the recently reconstructed Dragon Temple, giving Vale the chance he needed to get stronger in those departments. As such, Zeus Thunderfang and Terraria Soilwing were assigned to teaching him, with the former doing so whenever he wasn't busy with his own apprentice.

Which was never.

He landed at the gates of the palace, walking up to where two guards stood vigilant. With a wave of a wing, he walked past them into the palace proper. It had been a while since he last walked these halls. He still remembered the first time he came here. Shortly after the Bloody Dawn had occurred, Ember had tried to turn the guardians against him. Needless to say, that plan had backfired. Both the Guardians and the Freedom Flyers gave their support for the young purple dragon that day. He actually had no need to wear the collar a lot of the time. The only time now was when he was at school or out in the public scene.

As he proceeded down the halls, Vale recalled the last visit, attending a meeting regarding the plans going forward into the war. In two more years, once he's made a part of Team Alpha of the Freedom Flyers, all going well, his identity would be revealed to the public with the support of the army and the royalty. From there, Vale would begin to earn the people's trust, over time learning more. Then, once the lair of the Dark Masters is found, all the Flyer teams would be sent to assault the location, and take them down. The only major problem that was identified, by Vale himself, was that they would only get one shot at victory, and if he got captured, that was it for all of them. He proposed the contingency that under any circumstance of him being captured or corrupted, he was to be killed immediately, no matter the chance of escape. Not a popular opinion, as he had learnt then, but it wasn't about them. It was about making sure everyone was safe. As long as the Dark Masters were defeated, Vale didn't care much about what happens to him. Unless he was about to be turned into the third Dark Master, in which case he REALLY did care about what happens. Nevertheless, it was a few years away anyway, so Vale tore himself away from his thoughts and focused on where he was going.

It took him a few minutes to reach the doors leading to the throne room. He pushed them open, and stepped on in. As far as throne rooms went, it wasn't too decorative, but it was a taste he, as second class, approved of. And besides, he wasn't here to look at tapestries or any of the sort, he was here to see the princess. He turned towards the throne, and saw a dragoness conversing with a royal guard. He smiled, proceeding forward, knowing exactly who the two were.

Princess Nova Warfang. All that time, long ago, he had met a "Nova" from time to time, and who would have thought that she was the next in line to the throne, the ONLY royal who survived the massacre. She had been made the new princess just shortly after the Dawn, even if her grandpa disagreed at the time. Unlike Ember, Nova was kind, caring, and always willing to help anyone. Well, unless it meant cleaning bedrooms. Which, even though he was a clean freak in this topic, Vale agreed with.

And standing off to the side, wearing golden plated armour, was a crimson scaled dragon by the name of Ragan Crimsonfire. He was a half dragon, who could wield the elements of Blue Fire and the deadly Night Fire. He was… a weird one, but Vale trusted him, since Nova did as well. He had a lot of loyalty to Nova, ever since he was saved from the wastes.

"Your Majesty," Validor bowed.

"Please, you have no need to bow before me Vale," Nova said.

"But, you ARE the princess of Warfang. It's only proper "etiquette" for me to address you properly," Validor snarked, unable to hide the sly grin.

The two dragons stared at each other for a few seconds, before they were unable to contain their laughter. They rushed to each other and embraced,

"Okay, break it up you two," Ragan interrupted, shaking his head in exasperation.

"Oh live a little, Ragan," Nova teased. Ragan didn't appear impressed.

"Well, with that out of the way, let's get down to business about why you were called here," Nova continued, stepping back to her throne but not sitting upon it.

"Validor, it has been five long years since I came to the throne. And while I do have my own preservations about you, they are quiet compared to the rest. I really do think you are this world's last hope, and I want to do what I can to help you. You have yet to show any signs of… well, whatever the other purple dragons had when they turned. And you have succeeded in your training immensely, so I hear," Nova said, "I, well, we feel that you and your family deserve at least some quality of life improvements, especially after the pain you went through during the Dawn."

"As the princess of Warfang, I, Nova Warfang, wish for you, Validor Starwing, and your family to have a residence in the 1st class district. It's definitely long overdue, but, well, I think it will help your mother and sister out. After what you and your family have gone through, losing your father, and the inevitable confrontation with the Dark Masters in the future, frankly, you deserve it," Nova said, before adding a cheeky little extra, "also, you have no say in this, you're getting that house no matter what you say."

Vale had no words to describe what he was feeling in that moment. He was expecting Nova to want his company for a little bit, for simple conversation or what else, but to receive housing in the 1st class district, it was… beyond his expectations, considering the many nobles in Warfang. "I… don't know what to say… thank you," Vale said, "I… Mom is going to be so happy…"

"It is my pleasure to help you, Vale. General Cynder took a big risk with you, and so far it has more than paid off. All any of us would ask of you is that you promise to put an end to the suffering our world faces, once the day comes where you can take your stand against the darkness," Nova said.

"Thank you, your Majesty," Validor bowed, "and I will do everything in my power to stop them."

"I don't think I need to explain this to you, Validor, but don't let it go to your head," Ragan warned, "and if you end up threatening Nova…"

"Ragan…" Nova shook her head.

"I understand. Besides, if I do, it'll probably be both our faults," Vale gave a nervous smile. Ragan shook his head and tried to hide the slight grin.

"I believe with that, our little meeting is over, Vale. Please, give my regards to your mother," Nova smiled warmly at Vale, passing a letter no doubt with the deeds to the new household over to Vale, who took it in his claws, "and, may I ask you tell your friends? They will certainly want to know about this."

"Thank you, Princess Nova," Vale bowed his head, "and don't worry, I plan on it," and with that proceeded to leave the throne room, waving a wing in goodbye.

Upon exiting the palace, Vale took flight, soaring up into the sky with speed, before coming to a hover high above the palace. He looked to the east, and saw his destination before taking off towards the Dragon Temple off in the distance.

A few years ago, Princess Nova ordered the construction of a new temple for the guardians, as the old one was destroyed during the war. The old former guardian, Terrador, aided in the construction, including a vast training room where the apprentices could learn and practice in one place. Terrador had also helped in the construction of a new "Pool of Visions"; according to the old earth dragon, it could be used by a small, select individuals, to see visions of events happening in the world. Apparently the legendary Ignitus was one of these special dragons, and used it decades ago to find the other guardians so Spyro could go save them. So far, no one had the potential to use it, not even Vale could use it, but they kept it around just in case they did find one who can, as the information they could gain would prove invaluable to the war effort.

Speaking of the previous guardians, no one had seen Volteer and Cyril since around the time the war began. Terrador had apparently stayed to keep watch over the city, yet declined to continue his role as earth guardian. Still, didn't stop him from teaching the apprentices some tricks about the earth element, or battle tactics. He was unfortunately too old to operate in the military, but he helped support the training regimen.

Vale landed at the steps of the temple, walking up them to the grand doors that lead into the building proper. They opened up before him, and he proceeded inside and walked through the halls of the temple. He turned here and there, before arriving at a set of doors. He walked through, and entered the training arena.

He could see many of the apprentices training under the watchful eyes of their guardian teachers, practicing elements, combat skills, and some even focusing on other studies, such as dragon history, crystals and gems, and even elemental research.

"Hey Vale!"

He turned to look in the direction of whoever called out to him, and he smiled, seeing his group of friends here in the dragon temple. The group of six dragons approached him, no doubt having taken a break waiting for Vale to visit.

Oria Cyantrogen, the Nitrogen apprentice. The kindest apprentice he has ever known to exist. She was incredible. Despite her rich background, her parents are actually really good people, and she was also a really good person. She was one of the first of the apprentices to really warm up to him after his identity was exposed to them all, and it didn't take long for him to understand why. She was so much like Tori; kind and compassionate, with a strong outlook on the world. Unknown to pretty much everyone, but he actually admired Oria, not in the "I love you" kind of way, no, but more in the respect sort of way. He wanted to be more like her; unbiased, never letting other's perspectives change her own views. But what really made this stronger was, earlier this year, she said that her teacher wanted her to not let other's views affect her own, and not let them crush her hopes. That was a push Vale needed at the time, on top of everything, to continue his quest. His quest to become stronger, so that he can finally free everyone from the pain and suffering that runs rampant throughout the world.

Some years back, he learnt from her that she desired to be more like the guardians of old, the ones who protected everyone, not just the few. Considering his own interactions with the old Terrador, he could understand why she would want that, especially considering that a good chunk of the guardians now were just rich people who only wanted power.

That being said, Princess Nova has made leaps in fixing this issue, mostly by herself as well.

Korya Darkwing, the Stone apprentice. Son of the Civil Police Chief, Eirei Darkwing, and a pretty well meaning apprentice. In the many chats they've had, the two dragons became quick friends, often talking up the whole damn temple for hours on end. Not without the guardians' amusement, as well.

A year ago, Vale promised to help teach Korya about the stone element once he gained it, seeing it as another thing to learn and talk about.

Morden Stripescale, the Hypnosis apprentice. A bit of a creepy person to the average dragon, but Vale didn't mind. Honestly, he considered himself more creepy than the hypnosis apprentice. It wasn't his fault that he was lonely and not very social, but while he isn't the best at socialising, he is trying his best, and Vale has tried helping him open up.

His guardian teacher, Basilisk Hypnoeye, also helped Vale with sessions to help "clear his mind", a way to strengthen himself for when he would inevitably face the Dark Army. From what Cynder said, Malefor could corrupt dragons, as he had done to her when she and Spyro had faced him many years ago. He and the guardian got along well, with him able to express himself truly to him, so in a way Basilisk acted like his "psychologist".

Florence Petaltail, the Nature apprentice. While she was certainly more of a stranger to Vale than the others, her kindness to everyone she meets led to them getting along. However, he was very familiar with her teacher, Galios Herbascale, who was known for his many captivating stories. Vale had learnt much about the idea of nature from the old guardian, and has even promised to bring his younger sister to meet him. Nevertheless, Vale considers Florence a part of his little group of friends, and hoped to learn more about her.

Tundrine Frigidheart, the Ice apprentice. One might be surprised by him being friends with one of the more serious apprentices, especially since she doesn't like those of the third class (considering one of those third class is his friend Burner), but they have bonded over how serious his dedication to his training is. From that, they learnt more about each other, and Tundrine grew to become one of Vale's best friends.

Their friendship grew to him visiting her home, where her little brother, Yukito, lived. He always knew that one day, if Yukito ever got the chance to explore the whole city without being at risk of illness, he and Snowfly would get along just fine. Tundrine's protectiveness of her younger brother also reminds him of his own duty to his little sister, nearly mirroring their relationship.

It took learning about the fate of a dear friend of hers to really begin their connection beyond training. Char was a childhood friend of hers, and he had been murdered by a few desperate third class civilians. Considering his relations with Burner, he could easily see both sides of the problem. The third class have never been well off, and desperation led to terrible actions needing to be committed, though now work was being put in to help the third class district. Hearing about that made him realise why she hated the third class, and he truly understood her reservations. He has been trying to help her deal with the painful memory, which while she has never expressed verbally, he was certain from how she never refused the help that she is thankful.

Semias Blooddiamond, the Crystal apprentice. His shy cousin, son of the despicable Xavier Blooddiamond. Words could never describe how much sympathy Vale felt for the young child ever since learning about just how much abuse his father put him through. He had helped Lithia Faintwing with taking care of Semias, primarily helping with his confidence and self esteem. He never considered himself the best role model, not by a long shot, but if it meant helping someone who never deserved such tragedy. He was also family, and family was supposed to be important to anyone with a heart. That, and since he spent so much time around Oria, he got to know Lithia and Semias a lot.

Semias looked up to him, wanted to be more like him, more confident, able to do the right thing. It worried him, honestly. He didn't want anyone to get hurt on his behalf, or look up at him like some destined saviour. He feared it would make him feel arrogant, superior. Afraid that it would make him like the others. So he constantly reminded him that he didn't want to be viewed as some almighty god. So far, attempts have been partially successful.

"Heard Princess Nova wanted to speak to you about something. Tell us Vale, what did she say?" Korya asked.

Vale smiled, and he talked to them about the meeting. While his friends from school were inseparable to him, his little group of guardian friends were nearly as close to him as they were, and he knew they trusted him. His actual identity was known to them, and for some of them, that only added to their friendship. Tundrine wasn't afraid to test herself against Vale's potential, as an example. Though he was still afraid of how his school friends would react to his identity, the apprentices offered to be there for him when he did build up his courage. And he was thankful for that.

"Sweet! Now you get to spend a bit more time with us!" Oria said excitedly.

Vale looked at the rest of his friends, and they gave approving nods and smiles. It didn't take long for them to strike up a group chat, talking about their day and their lessons, with Vale even giving some advice of his own. Soon enough, the apprentices had to return to their training, and Vale bade them goodbye.

"Hey Vale, your mom came over to visit earlier. She's talking with Lithia, next room over," Oria pointed towards a room with her wing.

"Thanks. Better give her the good news," Vale excused himself and walked over to the room.

In the next room over, Aurora Starwing was talking with Lithia Faintwing, the Nitrogen guardian. He smiled as he walked up to the two, "Hey mom, hello Miss Faintwing."

Lithia looked over and smiled warmly, known for being rather quiet. "Valy, how've you been?" Aurora asked.

"I've been well. Gonna go to HQ after this. Just gotta tell you something. Princess Warfang has given us the deeds to a new home in the First Class District," Validor explained.

"T-that's great sweety!" Aurora smiled.

"You don't… sound too thrilled," Vale replied.

"No, I-I really do love this, it's just…" Aurora quietened.

"Because of dad? Because that was our home, and moving would mean leaving the place you two made great memories?" Vale asked.

"That… and the worries I have, about…" Aurora didn't dare continue.

"Oh…" Vale realised what she meant almost immediately, "yeah, I'm worried too… I'm hoping my training helps me with controlling my power, and myself."

The group was silent after that, but Aurora made things better by striking up a conversation with Lithia about some of Vale's stories about his friends, which he was very thankful for the better mood.

"Well, I'm off to training. I'll catch you guys later," Vale said bye to his mom, waving his wing to his friends as he passed by them, and left the temple.

He turned towards the north, flying towards the mountains. He flew past clouds, using his wind element to propel him even faster through the air. He spied the landing platform, far below, and tucked his wings in, falling into a dive. As he approached close, he spread his wings, slowly enough to prevent breaking them, but not too slow as to slam into the ground. At the last second, he used his wind element to launch him a little higher, effectively stopping all momentum, allowing him to land gracefully on the platform. He shook his wings a bit, and tucked them to his sides.

Freedom Flyers Headquarters. Exactly five years ago, this place was a place of sorrow, and traces of that suffering still remain here and there, ever since the Bloody Dawn. Here, on this platform, was where he made his promise. To Cynder, to Team Alpha, to Warfang, and to everyone who had died during the Bloody Dawn, and throughout the third Dark War.

'"This must end. I need to stop this. I… I must stop the Dark Masters."'

'"I will stop them. So that no one will ever suffer, ever again."'

That is his drive. That is what keeps him going. He needed to train, as hard as he can, he needed to push himself as far as possible, if he was to ever stand a chance against the Dark Masters. Even Spyro and Cynder, around his age, with all their power back then, couldn't even land a significant blow on Malefor, and with Spyro at his side now, he had to learn everything he could. Every element, every little piece of information about both sides of the spectrum, light and dark, and about Convexity, if he was to ever stand a chance against even one of them. He needed to strengthen his mind, eliminate any possible thoughts of destructive intent, before it could make any headway, if he was to ever withstand their powers. He had to stamp out every part of him that was weak and insecure, so that when the time came, he could face down the masters of evil and not tremble in fear. He couldn't afford even the slightest hesitation when that moment comes. He only got one shot at stopping them, and if he failed, everyone he knew, everyone he cared about, everyone he loved, would die, and it would be all his fault. Everyone's hopes were riding on him, a monster, someone they were told to fear. One day the city would know who he really was, and he was ready for the inevitable hate and outrage that would follow, but what they thought of him wouldn't matter much. It would only push him further to strengthen himself. One day, he would master every element, every way of fighting. He would learn every technique. And then, he would fight the Dark Masters, with Cynder and the Flyers at his side, and they would win.

Once this was all over, he was going to live a normal, peaceful life, away from the chaos, outside the city. He had explained this to some of his friends at the temple, and admitted that he wouldn't be ashamed to have them help him revitalise the land beyond the wall once everything was saved. That was his dream; a beautiful world where no one had to live in fear, with no so-called "gods".

Pulling himself from his thoughts, he proceeded through the HQ, passing by multiple Flyers. Each of them took notice of him, the older members nodding and offering welcomes as he passed by, the younger, newer members giving cautious looks, yet made no aggressive attempt.

Shortly after the Dawn, the Freedom Flyers received a discovery from their General; Validor Starwing. While the entire organisation knew of him, the true identity of his purple scales were unknown to many of the newer, more green recruits. While many voiced their concerns, some very loudly, Cynder and those who knew of his secret before were able to explain to them all why he was there. Now, everyone in the Flyers knew of his identity, and many had come to trust him. Even those who still aren't sure of him know him enough to doubt he could ever do harm to anyone who didn't deserve it.

Eventually, he arrived at the doors to the training arena, and there he found Galen Aerofang, veteran member of the Freedom Flyers. He was an old guy, masterful wind dragon, little bit past his prime. He lost his wife during the Bloody Dawn, which caused him to take time off service to recover. He's an exceptional wind dragon, even teaching Vale what he can in the element, at least what the young dragon didn't know already.

"Hey, Validor," Galen called out, "are you ready for our training session?"

"Yeah, ready as I'll ever be," Vale replied, waving his wing back at him.

They took their positions, settling into their combat stances. Vale took on a low, crouched stance, muscles tensed and ready to spring into action, tail hovering just above the ground, his wings spread out to the sides. He eyed his opponent, watching for the signs of attack. The moment Galen made a move, he would charge, and make a quick dodge while letting out a tail slash at his side. He would make sure not to leave himself open, and if attacked by wind, he would use his body to reorient himself onto the ground and retaliate. Use his small size to his advantage.

Galen's body tensed, ready to begin.

"Go."

Author's Note: HOLY SHIT THIS TOOK A WHILE! HI!

Honestly, I think this might be my most detailed chapter to date. And holy cow, I hope it shows. Revisions, proof readers, the works. I even had to recreate almost the whole thing, specifically the end part, because I realised that Cynder was out of town as shown in chapter 2 of the comic, and then realised Isky was ALSO out of town as shown in the same chapter. Whoops. So Galen Aerofang from DragonsongRequiem's Spyroverse story is making an appearance in their stead.

The next chapter also has gone under revision, because of the Main Comic Chapter 1 remaster. It keeps a few of the dialogue that was from the original chapter 1, and adds some from the remaster. Big thanks to Xannador for going out of her way for making a remaster when she had absolutely no business doing so, both for her possibly busy schedule and also for leaving Pure Light for her own personal reasons, no doubt to get some privacy.

So, a few things to talk about. I've moved house out into a roughly rural area, I've gotten a VR (which is partially why this took a bit longer because VR is awesome), Monster Hunter Stories 2 came out and that stole much time (for good reason, it's amazing), and among many other things, if you have been looking on my Deviantart, you may know that I have a cat called Hagrid. He is cute boy.
