Ran looked at him like a deer caught in the headlights, a red hue slowly crawling onto his face. "Hah?"

"Did you?"

"Didn't you hear what I just said? I'm not into traitors!"

And he was deflecting. Of course he was. Kyohei was contemplating if it was best to push the issue or let it die. Ran needed to talk about his feelings more, but forcing it out of him would likely just close him up more. So he decided it was best to drop it. At least for now.

Besides, it wasn't as if he could return the feelings. Though he would consider him to have a handsome face despite his scars, nothing about his personality really appealed to him. And the past week or so hadn't done much to change that. He still felt like he was babysitting a grumpy child. But to be fair, it wasn't as if Ran was in the best condition.

Kyohei adjusted himself in his seat as he thought of what to change the topic to. "Well, at any rate, I don't think you'll be stuck in here much longer."

Ran, who had since decided to hide himself behind his magazine, peered over the top of it. "Think so?"

"Yeah, you're looking a lot better than when I first came here, and the doctors mentioned you'd been getting your weight up to the healthy level pretty well."

Ran rolled his eyes. "You know I'm just gonna lose it all again once I'm out of here, right?" He had hardly eaten while he was incarcerated and simply got use to it.

"Not while you're in my care you're not."

"Excuse me?"

"You live alone, so I think you should stay at my place for a while until you're fully recovered," Kyohei explained.

"I can handle my self, thanks."

"You likely still have a couple months left of recovery time. Can you set your pride aside for a while your well-being? Besides, I'm not going to force you to stay in one spot all day."

"..." Ran wanted to continue to protest, but, annoying as it was, Kadota was right. He couldn't be completely on his own until his casts were removed. "Tch, fine."

"Oh, and I should mention. It won't be just the two of us."

"Huh?" Ran's curiosity got to him. Who could Kadota possibility being living with, especially after pretty much stating he was single.

"I live with my dad. I still need to talk to him about it, but I'm sure he'll understand. Also, he can help take care of you when I'm not around."

Though it wasn't want Ran expected, it made sense. Who else would it be really. "Huh...You get along with your dad then..."

"Yeah. He's a great guy. And he's already use to the more out there people like yourself as he's met Walker and Erika. Saburo too."

A jealous pang hit Ran's heart. "You really do got everything, don't ya."

"No, I mean, I wouldn't say that-"

"Don't go all modest on me. You got people who care about you."

"You do too...don't you?" Kyohei trailed off slightly as he finished the question, his lack of understanding Ran really dawn on him at that moment. He knew nothing about the man before him, having only ever seen him at his worst and lowest points. And his refusal to open up meant he's learn almost nothing during his time with him.

Ran didn't answer. He simply looked at him, then, after a moment, hid himself behind his magazine once more.
