How can this be possible?

Connor laid in his bed, unable to sleep. It was 5AM, and his mind continued to race with thoughts of confusion, feelings, and different emotions.

I think I'm in love.

The deviant rubbed his eyes and tried to relax, but his mind continued to think of-

But I can't... I don't want to take them away from-

Connor groaned irritably and rolled over onto his side.

Am I wrong?

Is it love?

Do I even know what love feels like?

The confused android, fed up with his endless questions, got out of bed and headed to Hank's room. He slowly opened the door to see Hank fast asleep, and hesitated.

I'm wasting his time.

He shook his head and walked over to Hank's bed, desperate for answers. Connor gently shook Hank's shoulder. "Hank?" He whispered. Hank opened his eyes and looked up to see his partner standing above him. "Connor..?" He mumbled sleepily. He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. "What's going on?"

Connor took a step back and looked down. "I-I'm sorry I woke you. I just need help." He said sheepishly. Hank scooted over and patted the space beside him. The deviant sat down beside the fatherly detective. "What's on your mind?" Hank asked.

The android sighed. "I think I'm... in love with someone." He answered quietly.

Hank was surprised. "Oh.. got your eye on an android girl or somethin'?" He joked lightheartedly.

Connor kept his head down. "Do you remember the first time you fell in love, Hank?"

The senior detective sighed and nodded. "Sure do. Back in high school. I met this girl in the tenth grade, in my biology class. Her name was Hannah. She was the prettiest girl I'd ever seen. Her personality was amazing, and she had a heart of gold." He chuckled as he remembered everything he did to impress his crush. "I would do anything to impress her. Tried to win every football game, carried her books in the hallways, anything I could do to get her attention."

"Did she like you back?"

Hank nodded, grinning. "She sure did, son. After about a year of trying to impress her and flirting, we finally started dating in the eleventh grade. And after dating for years, I asked her to marry me. And after we got married we had Cole." He looked down as tears welled up in his eyes. "She was one of the best things to ever happen to me." He looked at Connor, who was watching Hank intently. "If you really love this girl, Connor, then I'd take a chance and see if she likes you back."

Connor looked away uncomfortably. "Hank, what if... what if it's not a girl..?"

"Oh." Hank paused for a moment. "...oh!" He looked at his android partner, surprised. "I see. Well, the same goes for him, then. Try to get his attention, see if he feels the same way." Connor nodded slowly, looking slightly embarrassed.

He put a hand on Connor's shoulder. "It's okay. I'm not mad or weirded out, I hope you know." He hugged Connor tightly. "You love who you love, son."

The deviant hugged Hank back. "Thank you.."

"Of course." Hank whispered. "Who is it, anyway?"

Connor was quiet.

"It's alright. You don't have to answer. Just let me know how it goes." He rubbed Connor's back.

"Thank you, Hank. I-I need to go for a walk. Clear my head." The android stood up.

"Okay. Be safe." Hank said, laying down to go back to sleep.

"I will." Connor nodded and left. He walked down the street, trying to clear his head, but the only thing on his mind was-

"On your left!" The android turned around and quickly stepped to his right to let a jogging couple pass him. They nodded their thanks and passed him, holding hands and smiling as they ran together.

That's what I want. To be a couple. To do things together. I want it, but-

"Will he?" Connor thought aloud and sighed. Although he was certain that he wouldn't like him back, he couldn't deny it any longer.

I'm in love with Gavin.
