Chapter Two: The Club of The Crows

Hinata, now 15, had just entered the gym only to find his rival and the one person he vowed to defeat "Is karma seriously messing with me right now? What is this guy doing at Karasuno? No way…it's gotta be somebody else. Oh, get real Shoyo, there's no way someone could look exactly alike. Which means that it really is him, Tobio Kageyama's really here!" Hinata said to himself as Hiroko stood there with her mouth hanging wide open "This is seriously a major turn of events." She said completely stunned "We met last year. Forgot your name though." Kageyama finally said stunning Hinata while ignoring Hiroko all together which she did not appreciate "Are you kidding me? Ugh, whatever, my name is Shoyo Hinata, got it? But I'm sure you don't remember who I am, I mean, you annihilated us in one game." Hinata said frantically.

"I remember exactly who you are, and I remember your little 'demon' friend too." Kageyama said making Hiroko twitch in irritation "I guess Sho's name isn't the only one you have forgotten." Hiroko said through her teeth though Kageyama once again ignored her "The redhead's got amazing reflexes, high jumps, and super speed. But he doesn't use those skills to their full potential." Kageyama said to himself "Huh? why are you quiet all of the sudden? What are you looking for a fight?" Hinata questioned as he raised his arms ready to fight "Oh, don't be a dumbass!" Kageyama shouted at him, Hinata was taken aback at that but was able to shake off the shock "Don't make fun of me!" Hinata exclaimed, "He's not, he's telling you to not be stupid." Hiroko said, "You too!" Hinata shouted at her.

"Ok, listen, I may have lost to you once before, but that will be the first and last time." He said with intensity "I came here to get my revenge on you and now I find out you're gonna be on the same team as me?! How am I supposed to kick your butt that way, there are tons of better schools in Miyagi you could've gone to, why would you decide to come here of all places?" Hinata rambled as Kageyama's attitude changed "I applied to the best school in the prefecture but…didn't make it in." Kageyama said looking extremely annoyed at that statement, this really surprised both Hinata and Hiroko, who were confused, to say the least, "Wait, so? They rejected the 'King of the Court'?" Hinata questioned but for some reason, upon hearing the sound of his old nickname made something in Kageyama snap "Never call me that…EVER!" Kageyama shouted obviously furious.

Hinata was left speechless, but it also made him more confused "Ok, no need to explode." Hiroko said calmly when voices were heard outside and sounded like they were getting closer "Who would've predicted that the setter from Kitagawa would end up coming to our school?" The same male voice that belongs to Daichi said "Well, let's hope he's not too cocky. If not, I'll just have to pound him one." The third love-struck Karasuno player said, "Calm down Tanaka, you don't have to beat up everybody." Sugawara said trying to calm down the third Karasuno player, or Tanaka down "Oh and what are you gonna do about it Suga? Huh?" Tanaka questioned him but got no response "Yeah, that's what I thought." Tanaka said as he and the other two walked into the gym finally coming face to face with them "Um, hello?" Kageyama said as they stood in front of the three new first years.

Two of them had kind and welcoming smiles while the third guy with his hair in a buzz cut gave them a glare trying to look menacing, though Hiroko and apparently neither did Hinata or Kageyama find it intimidating "He looks constipated." Hiroko said to herself as she went white-eyed "Well, well, well. Now, what do we have…Oh!" The menacing guy, who turned out to be Tanaka started to say when he was pulled back by another guy with dark hair "I take it your Kageyama?" The guy, who was clearly Daichi asked as he still held onto Tanaka "Yes, that's me." Kageyama said as all three walked up to him "Great, nice to finally meet you." Daichi said "Pretty tall, aren't ya." A Silver hair player, who was Sugawara, said, "First impressions are everything Suga, you're a third-year so you gotta let them know who's in charge." Tanaka, now freed from Daichi's grip, said as he gave, or tried to, him another menacing glare.

"Knock it off Tanaka, you look like an idiot when you do that," Daichi said without looking at the wild player. Hinata had not said a word since the three upperclassmen walked into the gym, instead, he slowly walked around them as if he was studying him extremely carefully "Huh, Kageyama's a little taller than them. But even so, all of them are pretty tall. This feels so surreal I can barely believe that I'm here, this is gonna be great!" Hinata said mentally as he smiled "Hey guys!" Hinata shouted, "So how tall are you?" Daichi asked Kageyama "5'11." Kageyama said "Uh, hey guys, Um excuse me?!" Hinata said when he realized that none of them were paying attention to him "Whoa!" Sugawara said impressed "Damn, you're almost six feet tall, that's pretty badass." Tanaka said "HEY!" Hinata shouted, finally getting their attention.

"Huh? Hey, it's you! You're that shorty!" Tanaka exclaimed loudly startling Hinata as both Daichi and Sugawara gasped "Hold on, the other applicant goes by the name of Shoyo Hinata. I'm guessing that's you?" Daichi asked the redhead "Uh, yeah." Hinata said "It's just kind of surprising that's all. But, well hey! You both decided to come to Karasuno." Daichi said as Kageyama walked up next to Hinata "Guess so…OW!" Hinata yelled out in pain after a fist came crashing down onto his head "Shoyo, you know it's rude to interrupt somebody when they're in the middle of another conversation with a different person." Hiroko shouted scolding Hinata "What the heck, you have no right to hit me like that!" Hinata argued with her "Um, yeah I do." She said, "Being a month and a day older than me does not count as a right for you to bully me." Hinata said angrily as the three upperclassmen just stared in shock unsure what was going on or what just happened.

"I'm not bullying you; I'm scolding you." She said to him, "That sounds like something you would say to get out of a crime. "I didn't rob that bank officer, they just ripped me off, so I had to take back what's mine." Hinata said, making Sugawara chuckled at his impersonation "That was a weird explanation Sho." Hiroko said with a sweat drop "You have no room to talk, or do you want me to remind you of how many guys turned away from you after you said something totally geeky?" Hinata asked her while smiling, this she did not find funny at all "Remind me again why I hang out with you?" Hiroko asked him, looking defeated "Oh you know exactly why you continue to hang out with me." Hinata said with a smug smirk "When you add that expression to your statement it looks all sorts of wrong." Hiroko said making Hinata gawk at her in disgust "I didn't mean it like that you perv!" Hinata shouted at her as he shoved her.

Hiroko laughed at him as Tanaka tilted his head as if he were thinking "I think I've seen her somewhere before." Tanaka said to himself "You really would shove your own Nee-chan?" She said to him as she placed a hand on her hip "Hey, I only call you Nee-chan out of respect!" Hinata shouted as he pointed at her "Aww, little Sho respects me." She said teasing the redhead in a cute voice "Stop Making Fun Of Me!" Hinata whined loudly when Tanaka perked up "Hey, wait a minute!" Tanaka yelled out while stopping the sibling fight between the two as his voice got their attention "Aren't you the White Demon Goddess?" He asked her "Uh?" Hiroko said not really sure how to respond to that "Yeah, she is Tanaka!" Sugawara exclaimed, "Well, what'd ya know." Daichi said as he placed his hands on his own hips "Sorry, it's just that your skills are legendary." Sugawara said, "Hey, we've always heard that your power is out of this world." Tanaka said.

"We've always wanted to see it for ourselves but unfortunately we've never been able to find the time." Daichi said to her "Oh, I appreciate that, but I would prefer you guys to call me Hiroko, my real name." She said, looking somewhat uncomfortable "Of course, I'm sure you're tired of people calling you that over and over again." Daichi said, "Yeah, sorry about that." Sugawara said bowing to her "There's no need to apologize, I don't mind being known as the White Demon Goddess. In fact, I'm really proud of it, but I would rather be called by my real name when we're having casual conversations." Hiroko explained to them as she rubbed the back of her head "Understood." Daichi said nodding his head "So, are you really this carrottop's sister? You two look nothing like each other." Tanaka said as he pointed towards Hinata who apparently didn't like the nickname of 'carrottop'. "Oh, we're not blood-related or anything. But we have grown up together, we actually met when we were in the 2nd grade." Hiroko said.

"Whoa, that's a pretty long time." Daichi said, "Yeah, and she thinks that since she's known me for so long it automatically gives her the right to keep me on a short leash." Hinata said as he walked over to Hiroko with his hands behind his head "Somebody's gotta, or otherwise you'd be running loose and causing chaos." Hiroko said as Sugawara laughed at the two "Uh, I don't mean to be rude, but I assume you've signed up for the girls' volleyball team, correct?" Tanaka asked "Yep, I have." Hiroko said nodding her head "Ok, then why are you here? The girls practice in the first gym." Tanaka said Hiroko sweatdropped at that statement "Eh, well the thing is…I have no idea where the first gym is. I've been chasing this orange monkey around." Hiroko said pointing behind her towards Hinata "Hmm? Then why didn't you ask me to help you?" Hinata asked her "I Did But You Weren't Listening To Me!" Hiroko shouted at him, Hinata just sheepishly chuckled as he stuck out his tongue.

"Hey, don't worry about it. You're not in trouble for being here, I'd be happy to give you directions." Daichi said, "Thank you, I really appreciate it." Hiroko said sweetly as she bowed to him "Wow, her demeanor changed instantly." Sugawara said in his mind as he sweatdropped "In all honesty, we're actually not that far from the first gym." Daichi said, "Uh, really?! Then where is it?" She asked "If you go out these double doors and turn right, you'll see a big building straight ahead. That's where the first gym is." Daichi said, "Great, thank you so much. I kind of feel dumb now knowing it was so close." Hiroko said while rubbing her head looking slightly embarrassed "Don't be, a lot of first-years make that mistake." Daichi told her "Thank you again." Hiroko said bowing to them before turning her attention towards Hinata "You better be good and not cause trouble for the upperclassmen, is that understood?" Hiroko questioned the redhead sternly making him groan "Yeah." Hinata responded.

Kageyama snickered quietly but that didn't go unnoticed by the white hair girl "You too Kageyama!" She said snipping at him "Huh?" He questioned her "I don't wanna hear that all you did was fight with Sho, so I expect you to be on your best behavior as well." She said to the setter who clicked his tongue at her as she turned to leave "I don't remember giving you permission to be my boss." Kageyama said snapping back at her causing Hinata to freak out "I wouldn't say that if I were you." Hinata said nervously trying to warn him "Huh?" Kageyama questioned confused, however, it was too late for Kageyama to take back what he said. Hiroko turned back around and gave Kageyama the most terrifying glare he'd ever seen "You're gonna behave or else." Hiroko growled as a chill went down Hinata and Kageyama's spine "Whoa, didn't expect that." Sugawara said as he chuckled.

"She's definitely someone you don't wanna cross in a dark alley." Daichi said, "I wasn't aware girls voices went that low, not to mention gravel like that." Tanaka said looking scared but impressed at her "Thank you again for helping me." Hiroko said very sweetly as she bowed to the upperclassmen "Uh, yeah, no problem." Daichi said, taken aback by Hiroko's demeanor change. She waved at them as she left the gym and disappeared but not before popping her head back in and gave Hinata the "Watching you" gesture before fully taking her to leave. Daichi and Sugawara sweatdropped while Tanaka bursted out laughing "Man, her attitude can change in an instant, is she always like that?" Tanaka asked the redhead "Only if you provoke her enough." Hinata said with his head down "Anyway, we didn't mean to freak you out earlier. It's just, you made a huge impression last year." Sugawara said as Hinata looked up at him.

"Yeah, you were tiny and all over the place, but you really had some grit." Tanaka said, "Wow, thanks!" Hinata said happily "Well, you really do have some jumping power." Sugawara said, "It's a shame that you haven't had a growth spurt yet." Tanaka said as he compared his height to Hinata's who was taken aback but instead of angrily telling the sporadic guy off he grunted then said "I realize that, but that won't stop me. Just you guys wait, I'll be the ace of Karasuno faster than any of you could say "Volleyball." Hinata said with determination in his eyes, Kageyama however, looked annoyed by that statement "Hot Damn! Already have your sights on becoming the ace, do ya? I think somebody's got a little too much cajones." Tanaka said with a crazy grin making Hinata grunt "Well, there's nothing wrong with aiming for the top, right?" Sugawara said lifting Hinata's mood right up "Right, and I'll do my very best." Hinata said with glee.

"Ok then, now that you've sworn to become the ace, you better be able to back it up or you'll waste another three years." Kageyama said as Hinata turned around and glared at him "Excuse me? What did you say?" Hinata asked him as he continued to glare at the setter, who just glared right back "Was that necessary, Kageyama?" Daichi questioned the raven hair boy with a sigh "I gave that game everything I had; I really did." Hinata said as the memories of the match flooded his head "Look, I've done a lot, so stop putting me down. Besides, you really shouldn't say that I've wasted three years, you have no idea what I've been doing." Hinata said as he growled at him "What could be the reason for your inferior skills, if you're distracted by the smallest things that goes on in your life then why even play at all?" Kageyama questioned him.

However, this sent Hinata into a raging ball of fire. His eyes glazed over making his hazel eyes more vibrant and his glare sharper and scarier "What is your problem dude?" Tanaka asked, "Um, I think we're gonna have more problems with Hinata looking like that." Sugawara said looking scared "Huh?" Tanaka questioned as he turned his head and saw the look on Hinata's face and freaked out "Ok guys, break it up. You know you're not enemies anymore. I mean, that's what volleyball is all about, right?" Daichi said or at least tried to "I want you to play me, right now!" Hinata shouted not listening to Daichi "Hey, chill little dude, and watch who you're talking to!" Tanaka shouted with an irritating look "So, what are we playing?" Kageyama asked Hinata, not listening either.

"Volleyball, what the hell else is there?!" Hinata snapped at him like what he just asked was a dumb question "And how do you expect to play volleyball with just one player each?" Kageyama asked not really sure if he was believing what he was hearing "With…with passes and stuff." Hinata said, "How is anyone supposed to win at that?" Kageyama asked him totally confused "Are you kidding me right now?!" Tanaka exclaimed, "Why is it so noisy in here?" A male's voice said, coming in the direction of the gym's entrance. When the three upperclassmen looked towards the door, they saw a man in a suit and tie coming into the gym "Crap! It's the VP!" Tanaka exclaimed, "Be quiet, Tanaka." Sugawara said through his teeth "Take your own advice Suga." Tanaka said through his teeth as well "Are you boys fighting?" The VP asked as he walked up to them.

"No, of course not sir. We're just working hard as always, right?" Daichi said, asking the two "Hey, do you think you idiots could save your argument for later? The VP is always waiting for us to slip up." Tanaka said whispering to the both of them "I want you to send me a serve, I can handle whatever you send!" Hinata yelled as he pointed at Kageyama "Hey, are you even listening to me?" Tanaka asked still trying to keep his voice down "I was only able to receive one of your serves last year, even though it was with my face. But I've been practicing whenever and whoever I could since then. I'm not the same player when we first met." Hinata said with a fierce glare "Oh really?" Kageyama asked as he walked over and picked up a volleyball from the cart "I think your forgetting I've been practicing as well." Kageyama said with a smug look on his face as he got into place.

"Don't let him get to you Shoyo, just remember what you learned from the lady's team and what Hiroko taught you." Hinata said to himself as he got into his position "Ok you guys, I think that's enough for today!" Daichi said looking extremely terrified "They're first years, aren't they?" The VP asked with a cross look "Get ready!" Kageyama shouted as he took a deep breath then tossing the ball up into the air before jumping "What?! A jump serve, that's a new one on me!" Hinata said to himself as he watched Kageyama hit the ball with all the force he could muster up while he was still in midair. Even though Hinata tried to receive it, it ended up aiming directly at his face, and to avoid getting his face squashed like a pancake, he dodged it making it ricochet off the ground onto the stage before bouncing onto the side of the court.

Tanaka and the other upperclassmen stood there stunned "Huh? Did either of you guys just see that?" Tanaka asked the two "Whoa, none of the ladies I played with before could serve like that. Hiroko doesn't have that type of ball control either, if he hadn't caught me by surprise, I probably would've gotten it. But still, comparing the strength of his serve to Hiroko is…" Hinata said to himself "Pathetic, how's that any different from last year?" Kageyama asked him, Hinata gasped before clicking his tongue and getting up "Oh please, don't flatter yourself, you only caught me by surprise. Or did you forget that Hiroko is my best friend?" Hinata questioned him back "How can I forget with you two reminding me all the time, what's your point anyway?" Kageyama asked him a little snippy "My point is that Hiroko's skills are way more advanced than mine, so she's been helping me out with my skills. Your serve is nothing compared to hers." Hinata said making Kageyama angry.

"You Wanna Say That Again, You Little Pipsqueak!" Kageyama yelled angrily, "I'd be glad to believe it or not, I've gone to bed after practicing with Hiroko and woke up with bruises on my forearms the next day." Hinata said with a smirk that made him look like the Cheshire Cat, Sugawara and Daichi looked shocked but impressed at the information Hinata just gave "How crazy strong is that chick?!" Tanaka shouted, Kageyama even looked impressed "So come on, give me another one, cause I now know what to expect." Hinata said to the raven hair setter "Alright you two it's time to stop this now!" Daichi said more sternly this time "It would seem that the recruits have no respect for their Captain, much less any of their upperclassmen." The VP said as Daichi sighed in irritation and embarrassment. Kageyama served the ball once again but this time, however, Hinata tried to receive it.

"Whoa, so fast! He was able to get right behind it. Now he can control it." Sugawara said as he and the others watched Hinata receive the ball. But while he was able to get it to bounce off his arms, it, unfortunately, bounced in the wrong direction and it ended up smacking Hinata in the face before it ricocheted to the side "Uh…guess not." Sugawara said to himself as it made a direct b-line towards where Daichi was standing "If this keeps up…" The VP started to say to Daichi when the ball slammed into his face and knocked his toupee right off. It flew upward and landed directly on Daichi's head "Oh, that was a toupee, I'm so sorry sir." Kageyama said as he ran towards them "You didn't realize that I knew it was fake the moment he stepped foot on the stage during the entrance ceremony." Hinata said to him "We're so dead." Tanaka and Daichi both said to themselves, Sugawara on the other hand just looked like he wanted to melt into the floor "Now I understand what Hiroko met by him running loose and cause chaos." Sugawara said to himself.

The VP ended up having a word with Daichi after the incident. Hinata and the others were frozen stiff after he returned (Without the toupee mind you). "Well, luckily, we're not in trouble. He doesn't even want an apology." Daichi said to them with his arms crossed as the four of them sighed in relief "But we've been sworn into secrecy." Daichi said in a very weird tone, but it made Tanaka and Sugawara's expression change on a dime "But as for you two…" Daichi started to say when Kageyama interrupted him "If you had just handled the serve, we wouldn't be in this mess!" Kageyama said snapping at Hinata "Oh grow up would ya, you need to learn how to own up to your own mistakes!" Hinata snapped back "Can It!" Daichi shouted silencing everyone in the gym. "I wanna tell you something. I don't know why you two decided to come to Karasuno, but I assume you came to win." Daichi said "Yeah." Hinata said excitedly "Of course." Kageyama responded.

"Up until a few years ago, Karasuno's Volleyball team could compete with the best of them, they even went to Nationals one time. Unfortunately, these days we're 8th in the prefecture. While it's not the worst it's still not the best, and what's worst is that people like to talk about these things, and they like to talk about them loudly. Because of this, they've been calling us… 'The Wingless Crows'." Daichi said as Hinata listened carefully "I remember exactly when Karasuno played in the Spring Nationals back in 2008. I was just about to go into my second year of Middle School, and I happened to be passing by. When I saw them fighting those tough opponents in that huge Tokyo gym, it sent a shiver up my spine." Daichi said, Hinata gasped at the statement as he remembered his first time watching Karasuno play and how it made him feel.

"We're going back again, no doubt about it." Daichi said as a brightness shined in Hinata's eyes as he imagined being in the Tokyo gym "We're gonna play on the same court the Tiny Giant played on." Hinata said to himself "Nationals, huh? You aren't the first player to actually say something like that. Tons of High Schoolers talk about going, but that necessarily means that they'll get to go." Kageyama said, "WHAT! Why you little…" Tanaka started to say when Daichi cut in "I understand what you're saying, but I'm not joking around." Daichi said with a look to match his statement, Kageyama was taken aback when he saw his expression "If we want to get into nationals, we have to work together as a team. That means no more arguments with the VP." Daichi said as he took a few steps toward the two while Tanaka and Sugawara stepped away from him looking completely terrified.

"I'm not saying you need to be the best of friends or anything like that and I know you two have had your differences in Middle School as well as going against each other on opposite sides of the net. But let me be clear…You're now on the same side of the net, and you two need to make peace with that, understood?" Daichi said with a sharp glare that startled Kageyama, Hinata looked fearful but not as much as Kageyama "I don't care how good you are or how hard you're willing to work, if you can't get along as teammates, then you won't be allowed to be on the team!" Daichi shouted as he pushed both Hinata and Kageyama out of the gym before giving them back their club application forms "From now on or until you two can work as a team, the both of you will be banned from all club activities." Daichi said to them then shut the door. The two idiots stood there for a few seconds unsure what had just happened, but when their brains finally picked up that they wouldn't be allowed to play Volleyball, they really freaked out.

Hinata and Kageyama stood outside of the gym, still going crazy over what had just happened "Work together as a team? What is that even supposed to mean?" Hinata questioned still freaking out "How should I know dumbass?!" Kageyama responded freaking out as well "Please Captain, please let me in and play Volleyball. I'll find a way to work with Kageyama, I swear! Come on, please!" Hinata said begging to be let inside the gym once again as Sugawara listened from the inside with Daichi and Tanaka "Umm Daichi, do you really think this is a good idea? I mean, we do need players, and besides, you can't threaten people to get along with others, it takes time." Sugawara said as he looked at the captain who had his back facing them "Yeah, I know but…" Daichi started to say when a thud was heard outside, apparently, Kageyama had pushed Hinata back from the door.

"I apologize! I won't pick fights with him anymore! Please let me be on the team!" Kageyama shouted when the door opened slightly revealing Daichi with a fierce look on his face "You really mean that?" He asked the setter, Kageyama was silent for a minute as his pride was taking over his thoughts "Y-yes, I can do it. I'll share the court with him if I have to…but I still want to do everything myself. Every serve, spike, block, receive, and set in the game." Kageyama said with a grimace look "Are you out of your mind?!" Hinata asked him loudly as Daichi burst out laughing "I was not expecting you to be that honest with me, however, you do know that the rules state that you cannot drop, carry, or touch the ball twice in a row, right? In simpler terms, it means you or anyone else can't play the game alone." Daichi said, Kageyama growled as he watched Daichi close the gym doors with a smile on his face "So are you heartless or are you just an idiot?" Hinata asked him making the raven hair setter growl even more.

"SHOYO HINATA!" A girl's voice rang out, while it initially confused Kageyama, the voice made Hinata's complexion go completely white as he knew who the owner of the voice was "Oh man, how did she find out and so quickly too?" Hinata said freaking out "Wait, who's she? Is it your friend?" Kageyama asked, "Yeah, she must've heard what happened." Hinata said still shaking like a leaf "Huh? How? It Hasn't Been Two Hours Yet!" Kageyama shouted, "I have no idea, but you can go ahead and start digging my grave now cause I'm not gonna survive this." Hinata said squatting down with his hands on his head still terrified "Seriously, quit the drama nobody can be that bad." Kageyama said not really buying Hinata's fear. "Oh yeah, I'd like to see you try and deal with her when she's angry caused I personally would rather deal with the Captain's wrath than have her punish me as she sees fit," Hinata said still shaking in fear and now was starting to sweat.

This time Kageyama didn't argue with the redhead, and he went completely white in fear "LOOK AT ME!" Hiroko shouted, both boys turned their heads around to see a very pissed-off Hiroko. A chill went up both of their spines as the white-haired spiker turned her sharp glare at Kageyama who flinched "YOU'RE NOT IN THE CLEAR KAGEYAMA! YOU WILL BE PUNISHED AS WELL!" She shouted at him with a growl in her voice "Uh, what's she gonna do to us?" Kageyama asked Hinata "Oh god, I wish I knew, but she's so freaking unpredictable that I have no idea what she'll do." Hinata said now whimpering "YOU'LL BE GETTING A LOT MORE IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP!" Hiroko shouted at them making the two boys flinch and scream "NOW PREPARE TO BE PUNISHED!" Hiroko shouted as she got close for them to see her eyes which now had a glaze over them making them more a very dark purple. The boys don't say a word as they both went paperwhite "We're so dead, aren't we?" Kageyama asked, "Yeah, no doubt about that." Hinata responded.

Apparently, their punishment was a smack on the face, a hit on the head, and a five-minute timeout. Both boys were sitting on the step with a humiliated look on their faces with Hiroko watching the both of them from afar "Oh god, this is so humiliating." Kageyama said to himself as he remembered what happened after Hiroko assaulted them. Kageyama is rubbing his head as he felt the sting on his face "Now sit down both of you!" Hiroko shouted, Hinata, still terrified, immediately did as he was told and quickly sat down. Kageyama on the other hand grumbled and groaned as he sat down slowly.

"Alright, you guys are gonna sit there for five minutes with no talking, understand?" She asked them "Yes, ma'am." Hinata responded as streams of tears flowed down his face "Huh? How Old Do You Think I Am?!" Kageyama yelled looking at her like she was some sort of psycho, Hinata whipped his head around and stared at him bewildered "Do you have some sort of death wish?" Hinata asked him in a hushed tone "What? No, why?" Kageyama asked the redhead, his question was answered when Hiroko turned around and gave him the most horrific glare that made him recoil back in fear "That's why." Hinata said petrified "Well, from what I heard about the incident, I'd say your age is pretty low." Hiroko said to the setter with a growl "Now that you two have spoken, I am restarting the timer and I'll restart it if I hear anything other than breathing. Do I make myself clear?" Hiroko asked as she stood on the top step "Yes." Both of them said as they shot a glare at each other. Kageyama pinched the bridge of his nose as he came out of his memory, suddenly, a loud beeping went off.

Both boys looked towards the source and realized it was Hiroko's timer as she had grabbed her phone from her pocket and pressed the screen stopping the alarm "Your five minutes are up; I hope you've learned your lesson you two." Hiroko said making Hinata groan and fell backward "Finally! I thought it was never gonna end!" Hinata exclaimed very relievedly "It wouldn't have happened if you didn't start this in the first place!" Kageyama shouted angrily at him standing up "You don't know when to quit, do you?!" Hinata shouted back as he sat upright "Hey!" Hiroko shouted getting their attention "Do you toddlers want another punishment, cause apparently, the both of you haven't learned your lesson." Hiroko said, "No." They both said with a defeated tone "Then I suggest you knock it off, and the next punishment won't be a five-minute timeout." Hiroko said with her hands on her hips.

A little while later, Hinata had somehow managed to pull himself up and watch the club practice volleyball "There's a court and a ball right in front of me. Man, this is such a tease." Hinata whined, "Sho, get down from there." Hiroko said, "Why, it's not like I'm gonna hurt myself if I lose my grip." Hinata said snapping at her a little as he jumped down and walked towards her "No, but you could break something, and you've caused enough trouble for one day." Hiroko said "Huh? What could I possibly break?!" Hinata exclaimed to her "I have no idea but I'm not willing to find out and have it become the second "Baba-chan's broken China" mystery." Hiroko said with a hand on her hip "Hey, I keep telling you that wasn't me and they just fell!" Hinata shouted trying to defend himself "All of them?" Hiroko questioned him not buying his statement at all "Ever heard of the Domino Effect?" Hinata asked her looking irritated "Yes, and it doesn't really matter. Just don't climb things, ok? I'd rather be safe than sorry." Hiroko said looking exhausted.

"BTW, why are you here sis? Shouldn't you be practicing with the girls' team right about now?" Hinata asked her making the white-haired wing spiker growl which caused Hinata to flinch in fear "What did I do now?" Hinata asked looking terrified "You did nothing Sho, and to answer your question, I would be practicing right now. That is if anybody had shown up to practice!" Hiroko said loudly making it clear she was not happy about this in any way whatsoever "Huh, nobody showed up? Not one single person?" Hinata exclaimed in shock "Well, not exactly, people had shown up just not the entire team, I probably should've worded it differently." Hiroko said, "Ok then who all showed up?" Hinata asked "Well, there were three first years and that includes me. Two, third years and I believe they were the Captain and Vice-Captain. Then there was like one, maybe two second years." Hiroko said, "Really? Wow." Hinata said in a monotone voice that didn't really suit him.

"Yeah, and the second years that did show up only practiced for like 30 minutes before they started complaining of how tired they were, and while the Captain and Vice-Captain practice for almost two hours they realized that most everyone had left and decided to call it a day." Hiroko explained "Seriously? How do you guys expect to go to nationals like that!?" Hinata exclaimed angrily "Don't look at me." Hiroko said when Kageyama growled as he stood up "This is such a stupid waste of time! I have to get back in there!" Kageyama shouted now getting the attention between the two older teens "But we're not teammates yet, are we?" Hinata questioned the setter "I have a lot of potential, that should be more than enough reason for me to join the team." Kageyama said stunning the two "Do you even hear yourself right now?" Hinata asked him "You honestly think people get anything in life with just having potential?" Hiroko asked him.

"Isn't that how it works?" Kageyama asked her "Uh no, no it doesn't. I can guarantee you that no Pro Volleyball team will let you join with only potential and no teamwork or social skills along with a nasty attitude." Hiroko said making Kageyama growl at her "I don't like what you're implying." Kageyama said, "No, you just don't like that I'm telling you the truth." Hiroko said looking annoyed "So, what are we going to do?" Hinata asked the raven head setter "Ok, we'll challenge them to a two-on-two and if we win then they'll have to let us join. That way we can at least look like we're working as a team. It's foolproof!" Kageyama exclaimed looking proud "Or you guys can set aside your rivalry and really work together." Hiroko suggested "Hold up, you mean, beat them in a volleyball match? What if we lose?" Hinata asked ignoring Hiroko "Or just ignore everything I say." Hiroko said groaning in irritation "We're not gonna lose, I'll make sure of that." Kageyama said making Hinata gasp in shock.

"Ok, I've determined that he does not hear himself." Hinata said mentally "You need to do your absolute best, that means. No screw-ups, got it? I don't want you dragging me down." Kageyama said "Huh?!" Hinata exclaimed "Seriously, who or what gives you the right to talk to people like that? You do realize that respect is a two-way street, if you don't give any then nobody will give you any!" Hinata shouted trying to get as close to Kageyama's face as he possibly could "Oh, so you have a better plan? Because to me, it looks like you're just sitting around and watching through a window." Kageyama snapped at him causing Hinata's mood to change "Stop it, now." Hiroko said as she karate chopped Kageyama's head "Ow! Quit hitting me!" Kageyama yelled at her "My first game and my only game was when we played against you." Hinata said ignoring their argument as he gained their attention.

"We never had enough players for tournaments before that, and there wasn't any place for me to practice. So, I would go to a corner of the gym that wasn't being used or use an empty hallway or just practice wherever I could." Hinata explained "Really?" Kageyama questioned "Our Middle School didn't have a boys volleyball team. They used to but they disbanded it due to budget cuts, though in my personal opinion they could've gotten rid of other clubs that would've gained them more money than getting rid of the boys' Volleyball club." Hiroko said to the setter "So when I got to participate in the tournament and got to stand in that huge gymnasium, it was like…Whoa!" Hinata said with a cheerful and awed expression "Whoa?" Kageyama questioned "Sho, how many times do we have to tell you? Use your words and not sound effects." Hiroko said in a scolding manner "Be quiet." Hinata snapped at her, Hiroko just sighed "I wanted to stay on the court forever but…" Hinata said but stopped midway.

"But only the strongest…get to stay on the court." Kageyama said as he remembered what happened at the finals "I take it you didn't think over about what I said to you last year." Hiroko said with her arms crossed "How was I supposed to? What you said didn't make any sense." Kageyama told her as she sighed "A player is not a soloist. They are simply one member of an orchestra. The moment even one of them starts to think "I'm more special than anyone else," everything is over of them." Hiroko said as she walked down the steps of the gym then stared directly at Kageyama "I still have no idea what you're saying and to be honest, it's hard to take you seriously." Kageyama said with a stoic expression "And you don't think I'm being serious?" Hiroko asked him "With that tone, no." Kageyama said still with a dull look, Hiroko looked at him quizzically but didn't say a word. Hinata on the other hand was unfazed by it "Well, it doesn't matter anyway. I mean, it's not like they're gonna let one of us in without the other." Kageyama said making Hiroko roll her eyes.

"But if I get to play volleyball, then it'll be all worth it, nothing's too much to deal with not even you! All I have to do is not look at your dumb face and it's all good." Hinata said, "You better stop running your mouth you little rugrat!" Kageyama said snapping at the redhead "I would really love to see you try that Sho." Hiroko said with an awkward smile "Excuse me." A girl's voice said, which matched the voice of the girl that Tanaka called Kiyoko, gaining the trio's attention, in front of them was an incredibly beautiful girl with black hair and gray colored eyes that was covered by black-rimmed glasses, on the left side of her chin was a tiny beauty mark "I need to get through." She said emotionlessly but still had a kind tone laced in her voice, both boys stared at her for a few seconds before moving out of the way of the door "Oh, sorry about that." Hiroko said bowing a little while moving away herself.

"It's fine." Kiyoko said as she made her way towards the door, just as she is sliding it opened Tanaka appeared right in front of her with a stupid grin on his face "Hey Kiyoko, thanks for all of your hard work! Oh, here let me take that for you." Tanaka rambled on as Hiroko sweatdropped "No thanks, I can carry it myself." Kiyoko said to him "Ok then, by the way, you look absolutely stunning today." He said trying to compliment her, this time she didn't answer and just walked away "Oh man, she's so cute when she ignores me!" Tanaka said, squealing in pure bliss, completely unfazed by her actions as Sugawara appeared with a strange look of his own, sliding the door shut. The three teens were silent for a minute before Hiroko began to snicker "What type of expression was that?" She questioned as she began to laugh even harder "Ok, it wasn't that funny. I mean, it was just a face." Kageyama said with the same bland tone as before.

This comment made Hiroko stop laughing "What the hell is wrong with you, there is no possible way you can be that stupid!" Hiroko exclaimed in exasperation "I'm not the one who's laughing at someone's face for no reason!" Kageyama said snapping at her, Hiroko looked at him completely dumbfounded in silence for a few seconds "Ok, you're not the 'King of the Court' you're the 'Dork of the Court'." She said making Kageyama growl at her "I didn't ask for your opinion!" He yelled at her, they both stared at each other for a good minute or so before Hinata spoke "Hey, Taiyoka nee-chan!" Hinata shouted getting both her's and Kageyama's attention "Don't you think that girl was really pretty?" He asked pointing towards the door with a bright smile on his face making Kageyama sweatdrop "Guess he's not the fond all-over girls' type, huh." Kageyama said, "No, he is not." Hiroko responded, "Though that ain't even half of it." Hiroko said to herself as she too sweatdropped while chuckling awkwardly.

Later that night, as the Volleyball club was packing up for the night. Tanaka and Sugawara were talking to each other when Tanaka brought up Hinata and Kageyama "Hey, I bet those two dorks think that if they can beat us in a match, they'll be allowed to join the team." Tanaka said "Right, but all they really have to do is cool off and learn their lesson." Sugawara responded as Daichi just stared at them not chiming in on their conversation. Suddenly, a couple of knocks rang throughout the gym causing all of the boys to whip their heads towards the door when a voice shouted from the outside "Excuse me, it's me, Hiroko. Can I come in?" Hiroko asked shouted through the door "Uh, yeah! Come on in!" Daichi shouted, no sooner than that, the door slid opened revealing Hiroko as she walked in "Hey." She said in a cheery voice as she closed the door behind her "Hey, what's up? Did you need something?" Sugawara asked as Hiroko grunted softly "Well, first off, I really want to apologize for the trouble Sho caused earlier today." Hiroko said bowing deeply to them making Daichi go completely white.

"Um, how did you find out about that?" He asked, his voice squealing in horror "Uh, well, one of my teammates saw the whole thing and told me about it." Hiroko said chuckling sheepishly as she stood up straight "Did Anyone Else See It And Did Your Teammates Tell Anyone Else?!" Daichi exclaimed as he grabbed Hiroko firmly and began to shake her violently "N-no, I-I-I-I don't thi-nk so." Hiroko said in a dizzy voice, trying to speak while being thrashed around like a ragdoll "Daichi, Cut It Out Or You're Gonna Make Her Sick!" Sugawara shouted as he grabbed Daichi's hands making the Captain "Oh, uh, sorry." He said when he realized what he was doing to the female spiker "What the hell's the matter with you?" She asked as she shook her head to regain her focus "We've been sworn into secrecy about the entire incident." Tanaka said with a sweatdrop "Oh." Hiroko responded, "Again, I'm really sorry." Daichi said with his head down looking embarrassed "No, it's ok, I'm fine." She said trying to reassure him.

"Should I mention that keeping the whole thing a secret is pointless and a waste of time as nearly the entire school including the staff already know that the Vice Principle wears a toupee? Judging from the reaction I got from Daichi, I think it's probably best to keep my mouth shut for now." Hiroko said to herself with a sweatdrop "Anyways, again I apologize for the chaos Sho created." Hiroko said bowing to them a little "We heard you scolding them earlier, you can be pretty scary when you're angry." Tanaka said, "Yeah, sorry if I scared you, I don't like showing that side of me." Hiroko said as she rubbed her head "No one does, but why are you apologizing? You weren't the one who caused all this." Sugawara said, "I know, but I would feel even more guilty if I didn't say anything." Hiroko groaned looking stressed out "Well, we understand that, but you really should let other people handle their own problems." Daichi said to her.

"Don't I know that to be honest, I'm apologizing mostly for myself. I mean I do choose to hang out with Sho." Hiroko explained, "Yeah, I get it. But you really came here just to apologize for something that you didn't even do?" Daichi asked, "Well, for that, but also for…" Hiroko started to say when two voices yelled out "CAPTAIN!" This stopped Hiroko and quickly grabbed the attention of the others. Hiroko chuckled awkwardly as Daichi, Sugawara, and Tanaka walked towards the door where the voices were coming from and slid open the gym doors "We Challenge You To A Match!" Both Hinata and Kageyama shouted which made Tanaka burst into laughter "If we win then you have to let us join the team." Hinata said, "This was the second thing I wanted to apologize for." Hiroko grumbled with a sweatdrop "Guys, I'm psychic!" Tanaka said in a high-pitched voice trying to stop laughing "No, more like they're just predictable." Hiroko said with a sigh "Now! We Want To Prove To You That We Now Know How To Work Together As A Team!" Both Hinata and Kageyama said at the same time.

"This is gold! I totally could get used to having these idiots around." Tanaka said as he began to laugh harder "How many times did they rehearse that?" Sugawara asked whispering to Hiroko "They didn't rehearse anything." Hiroko whispered back the answer looking impressed "Wait, they literally said that on the spot?!" Sugawara exclaimed quietly and in amazement, Hiroko only nodded in response "And if you lose?" Daichi questioned the two idiots not really paying attention to either Tanaka or the other two. Hinata groaned in confusion before Kageyama spoke "Then you get to choose the penalty." He said causing Hiroko to flinch "You sure you wanna do that?" Hiroko asked him "Yes, I…I mean, we're sure." Kageyama said "Uh?" Hinata said sounding totally confused, Hiroko just stared at him dumbfounded for a few seconds before saying "Ok then." As she shrugged.

"Huh." Daichi said curiously "Alright then, here's an idea. We just received some application forms from two more first years. You'll play a three-on-three match against them. We actually do this every year with new members so we can get an idea of how they play." Daichi said as Hinata and Kageyama looked at them confused "But there's only two of us, who will be our third player?" Hinata and as he pointed to himself and Kageyama "Tanaka will be your third player on your team." Daichi said to them "Oh come on boss, why are lumping me with these losers?" Tanaka asked as he whined, "Well, just a few minutes ago you seemed to like them." Daichi said, "Seriously Daichi, I'm a Volleyball player, not their babysitter!" Tanaka exclaimed embarrassing Hinata and Kageyama a bit "That's too bad, I really thought you'd be the only ones tough enough to keep these troublemakers in line." Daichi said, apparently that was enough to change Tanaka's mind "Well when you put it like that…why the heck not!" Tanaka said with full confidence.

"That was quick." Hiroko said as Tanaka hopped down "Just stick with me, little man!" Tanaka said loudly as he patted Hinata's shoulder "Ok, now for the penalty, if you two lose. For the rest of my time here at Karasuno…Kageyama cannot be the setter." Daichi said "Huh?" Kageyama said baffled "I tried warning you, but you said you were sure you wanted him to choose the penalty." Hiroko said, "Wait, is that our only penalty?" Hinata asked, "If the setter is aggressive, self-centered, and driven by his own ego…the team will never win." Daichi said as Kageyama growled in anger "What? It's not like I'm rejecting your club application. You're a good volleyball player Kageyama and I'm sure you can find a different position." Daichi said making Kageyama gasp "NO WAY! I'M A SETTER!" Kageyama yelled out clearly not happy about Daichi's statement at all "Then win the game. You believed you could win without any help, right?" Daichi asked him "Um, so what about me?" Hinata asked trying to get their attention "Believe me Sho, you don't want to get a penalty." Hiroko said trying to warn her best friend as she walked down the gym's steps.

"We'll play on Saturday." Daichi said, "Come on, I'm here too ya know!" Hinata exclaimed jumping a little still trying to get their attention "Not everything's about you Sho." Hiroko said trying to calm down the energetic spiker "Don't you worry, your cool Senpai's gonna show you the-Woahh!" Tanaka started to say when he was yanked back by Sugawara "See ya." Sugawara said as he quickly closed the gym doors "Well, they certainly left in a hurry." Hiroko said with a sweatdrop.

Daichi was walking away from the door when Sugawara spoke up "Hey Daichi, don't you think you're being a little bit too harsh?" The silver-haired setter asked, "He's right boss, you're acting a little more strict than usual." Tanaka said as he turned to face Daichi who at the moment had his back to the both of them "Is there some reason why you're doing this?" Sugawara asked but didn't get a response from the Volleyball Captain.

"Damnit!" Kageyama shouted as he stomped his feet in anger "What's the matter? Are you upset that you're the only one who gets penalized?" Hinata asked, sitting on the top step "Oh no, he's just cursing at gravity." Hiroko said with a clearly sarcastic tone "Not in the mood for your snarky comments Sis." He said snapping at her "Hey, even if you're not the setter, I bet you could figure out a different position just like that." Hinata said trying to make Kageyama feel better, but from the groans and the way Kageyama was clenching his fists tightly, it wasn't working. "Besides...spikers are way cooler than setters anyway. They get to charge up and slam the ball!" Hinata said as he got up and hopped down, not realizing that Kageyama was now fuming with anger "WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP!" Kageyama shouted as he grabbed Hinata's collar "OUCH! DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO STOP HITTING ME?!" Kageyama yelled at Hiroko who had whacked him on the head "Then don't grab people by the collar." She said in a motherly tone.

"Seriously, what's wrong with you? Why is it so important that you have to be the setter?" Hinata asked "The setter is the team's control tower! Plus, it's the one position that gets the most contact with the ball. It's the greatest position because you get to be the leader. Without a setter to toss the ball, there wouldn't be anything for you to hit!" Kageyama explained furiously "That really didn't answer his question...but you're not wrong." Hiroko said, "Yes, I know that already. But even though there setter's job is important you don't stand out very much." Hinata said making Kageyama grunt "You've never seen a real Volleyball game in person, have you?" Kageyama asked the redhead "No, I haven't." Hinata responded, "I told you, you should've come with me to the finals." Hiroko said, "And why is that important?" Hinata asked, "Because seeing the game in person is way different than seeing it on TV." Hiroko explained "Huh? How so?" Hinata responded sounding completely lost "Because you can't tell by the angle they show on TV." Kageyama said gaining the attention of the two.

"But if watch it at the end of the court, you can see how fast the setter tosses the ball, it flies straight across the court...whoosh! The ball passes right in front of the other team's blockers. Then, when you just start to think that there's no way anybody will hit it. There's a spiker just waiting to strike, and he smashes the ball just in time!" Kageyama explained "Y-yeah." Hinata said not really sure how to respond to that "And I thought Sho was the only one who used sound effects when trying to explain something." Hiroko said to herself while staring at Kageyama with a deadpan look "It's true that the spiker's job is showier, but, without the setter...the spiker can't get through the other team's wall. It's the most important, cool, and challenging position in the entire game, alright?" Kageyama said while snapping Hiroko out of her thoughts and making Hinata grunt as he stared at him "Ok, I get it. Being the setter is important to you." Hinata said as Kageyama stayed silent for a minute "Damnit! What's with that guy?" Kageyama questioned still incredibly angry about the whole thing.

"Who, Daichi? I can guarantee that he's thinking the same question about you. Scratch that, I'm sure that everybody is asking the same question about you. I know I am." Hiroko said, "And I will second that." Hinata said raising his hand "Is This Really The Time For That?!" Kageyama shouted snapping at the two "All you pretty much have to do is win. You were so confident when you challenged them earlier." Hinata said as Kageyama clicked his tongue "He's got a point, though he won't be much help. Looks like I'm gonna have to rely on that creepy bald second year and focus on setting him tosses." Kageyama said to himself "Ok, we've got until Saturday to work on your crappy receives." Kageyama said pointing at Hinata "What? Crappy?" Hinata questioned sounding offended "We should work on your teamwork skills while we're at it." Hiroko said annoyed "What?! We should focus on improving more important things!" Kageyama exclaimed sternly, both Hinata and Hiroko just stared at him with a deadpan look. Hiroko then inhaled deeply then let out a long exhaled that sounded like a groan.

"We have a long way to go." She croaked out "Huh?" Kageyama said confused "Well, there's just one problem." Hinata said getting their attention "Seriously? There shouldn't be anything that stops you from training!" Kageyama exclaimed "How stupid are you? You'd seriously train when you're vomiting?" Hiroko asked, "Why would I let a little bug get in the way of my training?" Kageyama asked her "It doesn't really matter if you're sick or not, if we can't get into the gym we can't practice." Hinata said, "Uh?" Kageyama said, the two boys then looked over at her Hiroko "Huh? Oh no, don't you two dare give me that look. Do you really believe I'm not gonna tell my Coach and Captain about your little gym banishment if Daichi already hasn't?" Hiroko said stunning the two boys "Didn't think about that." Kageyama said, "What now genius?" Hinata asked clearly upset, suddenly, they heard someone clearing their throat that seemed to be coming from the gym's opened window.

The three teenagers looked up and saw Tanaka standing near it with his back turned towards them "I forget, our practice starts at 7 am tomorrow, correct?" Tanaka asked trying to sound casual but failed "Yes, is that gonna be a problem?" Sugawara asked sounding a little suspicious "Uh, no not in the slightest. Anyway, do you guys think the VP's fur coat was repaired?" Tanaka asked, "We're supposed to keep our mouths shut about that." Daichi said sternly as Hinata and Kageyama looked at each other "Ok, be here at 5 am, and don't be late, clear?" Kageyama said as he and Hinata began to leave "Crystal." Hinata responded, after walking a few feet the two boys began to speed up until they were full-on running "Hold up, I forgot my bag!" Hinata said as Tanaka watched from the window "I have it right here Sho!" Hiroko shouted as she walked towards him "Thanks, sis!" Hinata said happily as Hiroko threw it to him "Thank me when you've fixed your mess." She told him making him groan in annoyance.

The next morning, when Hinata and Kageyama were walking towards the gym, Kageyama decided to ask Hinata something that was bugging him "Hey!" He said getting the redhead to turn and look at him "Do you think that friend of yours will rat us out to the Captain about us using the gym?" He asked, "Don't worry about Hiroko, I already asked her about it and she's keeping her mouth shut. She may be strict, but she isn't a snitch." Hinata said, Kageyama was silent for a few seconds when he gave his usual 'Tch' making Hinata whip his head towards him "I knew she was unusual, but I didn't think she was this weird. Seriously, it's like she's got two personalities that are totally at odds with one another." Kageyama said ticking off Hinata "Ok, one: You don't even know her, so there's no point in saying that. She's not gonna rat us out because she knows how important this is to me, but she isn't willing to get in trouble just because she's nice, that's why she isn't letting us use the girls' gym. And two: You have no room to talk about people having weird personalities." Hinata said making Kageyama growl as the two reached the gym.

Hinata walked up the steps and tried to open the doors, but they wouldn't budge "Well, we should've seen that coming. The doors are locked." Hinata said, "Alright, then let's go through the window." Kageyama suggested quite stupidly "Are you insane, we end up getting expelled or worse arrested if we do that." Hinata yelled at him when a raspy voice was heard coming towards them "Man, 5 am is way too early." The voice said causing both Hinata and Kageyama to glace over and see Tanaka wobbling towards them "Tanaka?" Hinata asked the said person as he yawned loudly "Alright, you two dorks have two hours, and then beat it." Tanaka said with a smug look as he held up a keyring that had a key and a yellow key label that read "Gym No.2" in Kanji hooked to it "Wow, you're so cool!" Hinata exclaimed in glee "Thank you very much!" Kageyama exclaimed as well but not as loud as Hinata, but it was loud enough for Tanaka to laugh with confidence.

"That's right, who's your hero first years? Just call me Tanaka-Senpai!" Tanaka said looking all cool (or at least trying to) as he twirled the keyring on his finger "Tanaka-Senpai!" Both boys shouted fueling Tanaka's ego making him laugh once more "What was that?" He asked but not due to his hearing or confusion, but more due to his pride "Tanaka-Senpai!" The two said one more time "Ok, punks let's go." He said with a laugh as he unlocked the gym doors and opened them. Hinata peered inside gasping with excitement as he and Kageyama waited for Tanaka to move, but the sporadic wing spiker just stood there with, surprisingly, a serious look on his face "He's right boss, you're acting a lot more strict than usual." Tanaka remembered saying to Daichi the night before as he dived into his memories "Yeah, is there some reason why you're doing this?" Sugawara asked.

"Well, kind of…You saw how those two played last year…remember? Kageyama was a child prodigy in Middle School, but now he's got nothing to show for it. If he doesn't change that lone wolf personality of his, it'll hold him back in High School as well and that could damage his reputation even further which will cause Pro teams to not pick him, no Pro League wants a player that can't work well with others, especially their teammates. I don't want him to drag this team or even himself down. However, the big difference now is…both Hinata and he are on the same team." Daichi said "Seriously, Hinata? I mean, he is kind of a big crazy ball of energy and agility if you think about it." Tanaka responded in a bit of shock "Exactly, but he hasn't reached his potential as of right now. Even though he's got amazing speed and quick reflexes, not to mention that jumping power, he's never teamed up with a real setter before and I'm quite sure he hasn't had a lot of training in Volleyball either, which makes him an amateur at best. Kageyama on the other hand wants a spiker that's fast enough to hit the fast sets he makes. Separately, their abilities are limited, but if you put them together and allow them to come up with some combinations. Karasuno will have the perfect team, this is gonna be great, trust me." Daichi said with confidence as Tanaka came out of his memory and looked behind him.

Unfortunately, the only thing he saw was the two dorks arguing "Outta my way, I'm gonna be the first one on the court!" Hinata shouted as he tried to push Kageyama out of the way "You can't be the first if Tanaka is already on it, dumbass!" Kageyama argued back trying to push Hinata away "Then why won't you let me go in first?" Hinata exclaimed as the two continued to struggle against each other "Knock it off you two, we don't have time for this!" Tanaka shouted at them when they suddenly fell over right into the gym "Sorry boss, but it looks like it'll be a while before we see any sort of combinations." Tanaka said to himself as he grinned, he then sighed as he walked over to the light switch and flipped it on revealing the net which was already set up while Hinata and Kageyama got up and walked further into the gym "Whoa, check it out!" Hinata shouted in excitement "Weren't you just here yesterday? Why are you getting excited for little dude?" Tanaka asked the energetic redhead "This is the same gym that the Tiny Giant practiced in. Alright..." Hinata said to himself with a weird grin, not hearing a word Tanaka said, "Let's Do This!" Hinata shouted with joy and determination.
