Chapter 1:

As Harry woke up from his long nap, he touched his hand to his scar. Just a few moments ago, he felt a throbbing pain in it.

"Voldemort!" Harry shouted.

"What?"

Harry turned to the source of the voice.

"Blimey Harry, you're covered in sweat!" Ron said, "Is it...You-Know-Who?"

Ron had vivid orange hair and blue eyes, and his face was covered in freckles, especially his long nose. His skinny arms and legs, and large feet, were visible from his gray t-shirt and pyjama bottoms.

"I-I don't know," Harry stuttered "but I think so…"

Then, right in the middle of the Gryffindor boy's dormitory, a purple ,glowing gate appeared.

"What the-?" Ron shouted.

A loud 'vworrp' sound came from the portal, and a man fell out, limbs sprawled all over the ground. Amazingly, neither Neville, Seamus, nor Dean awoke, as they remained in their snoring slumber. The man rose to his feet, and he was dressed from head to toe in black spandex, with a long cape. He wore a mask with two long ears poking out, white lenses protecting his eyes, and a hole exposing his stubbly, light-skinned lower face. In the center of his torso was a yellow circle with a black bat-like symbol on it.

"Where am I?" he growled in a deep, hoarse tone.

"Blimey Harry, there's a madman in here!" Ron whispered.

"I think I can see that for myself, thanks Ron."

The man in spandex slid over to Harry, feet lightly stepping on the floor without making a sound.

"Are you being held hostage? Do you know where we are?" he asked.

"No, we're not being held hostage, and we're in Hogwarts. How did you get in here?" Harry said.

"I don't know. What's Hogwarts?" the man replied.

Ron and Harry exchanged glances.

"The school for Witchcraft & Wizardry- blimey, I shouldn't have told him that, should I have Harry?" Ron answered.

"Who are you?" Harry said directly after Ron.

The moonlight poured through the window, illuminating the man and casting his long shadow across the beds as he said, "I'm Batman."

"Blimey, why are you growling?" Ron asked.

"To disguise my voice from those who may recognize it."

"Half of your face is visible- people could probably recognize you by your mouth," Harry tells him.

Batman sighs, "I'm only out at night, so they wouldn't see my face. The mask is a precaution. Also, what do you mean by 'witchcraft and wizardry'?"

Harry and Ron exchanged glances again.

"We should probably get Hermione," they said in unison.

Ron walked up to the door and opened it. A winding staircase was now visible.

"Come on then," Ron said.

Harry and Batman followed Ron down the stairs, leading to a large scarlet room with several armchairs and a sofa gathered around a fireplace. Candles hung from golden chandeliers, illuminating the room in combination with the roaring fire. Ron knocked on the door to the girl's dormitory and softly called Hermione's name.

A girl with pale skin and long, bushy brown hair stepped out. She had bright brown eyes and wore plain black robes and a tall, pointed hat.

"Ronald Billius Weasley, why have you woken me up at this hour- who is that?" the girl said in a slightly shrill voice.

Batman stepped forward.

"I'm Batman," he growled.

"There's no need to growl," Hermione said, "how did you get here?"

"I have no idea," Batman replied, "I was hoping you could tell me that."

"He arrived here through some kind of purple portal- he couldn't have apparated, he doesn't even seem to be a wizard," Harry explained.

Hermione gasped.

"What do you mean, wizard? Are you…" Batman asked, but stopped and said "whatever. That's the least weird thing that has happened so far tonight."

"I think I know how he got here! Hold on, let me get the book-"

"Typical Hermione," Ron grumbled.

"What?"

"Uh-nothing."

Hermione walked through the door to the girl's dorm. She came back a few seconds later, with a purple book in her hands. She showed the cover to Harry, Ron and Batman. It said 'interdimensional riftillation of universal traveling'.

"I think Batman came from another universe, especially considering that he seems identical to a muggle comic book hero," Hermione said.

"Another universe...that explains why I saw a plumber in a red hat with an 'm' on it recently," Batman said, "but how did I get here?"

"Wait- what if this has to do with my scar hurting?" Harry interjected.

"Harry, your scar hurt?" Hermione gasped, "why didn't you tell me sooner? What about Voldemort?"

"It just happened!" Harry whispered, "I hardly had the time to."

Hermione shook her head and began to speak, but Batman interrupted her

"Who is Voldemort?" he growled, staring at Harry "is he another wizard?"

"Yes, he is a dark wizard who...well, he killed my parents, and nearly killed me as a child," Harry explained.

Harry briefly saw Batman's face flash with sadness, before he shook himself lightly and returned to a straight face.

"Your parents- they were murdered too, weren't they?" Harry asked.

"That's none of your business!" Batman said, his growl even deeper than usual.

"I'm sorry, it wasn't my place to say, but I could tell- I can see it in your eyes."

"Well, we have to figure out how I got here, and what's going on," Batman said.

Changing the subject. Interesting. Harry thought.

"I'm not quite sure how," Hermione said "but Dumbeldore might."

"Hermione! We can't!" Ron said.

"Keep your voices down! Do you want everyone else to hear us?" Harry whispered.

"Harry's right," Batman said, turning to Hermione then Harry again, "that is your name, correct?"

"Yes," Harry answered.

"Anyway, let's see this...Dumbeldore," Batman said, looking into the fire.
