New re-write of Runaway Singer. First few chapters will differ from the original story, but eventually two chapters will have similarities of the old crossover. Might add a second pairing later on in the story but for now that's in debate. Thank you for those that are still supporting me and my work. Hope you take a liking to the newly updated version of Runaway Singer. - AutumnBee

1835 - New Orleans, Louisiana

"Klaus!"

The name echoed throughout the courtyard, as a young lady walked across it to try to calm her fury.

"Niklaus! Show yourself brother, I know you're here somewhere."

She screeched at the top of her lungs after receiving no answer. In a flash a tall, handsome man appears standing a few feet away as she hurries closer.

"What ails you this time dear sister? What has he done to upset you this time around?"

Stopping before him, the young blonde takes a breath. Just the sight of her brother's worry and gentle tone is enough to help her clear her mind. She smiles, a strained one but a smile no less.

"None to concern yourself 'Lijah. Merely looking to have a few words with him out certain methods is all. Please by all means, do you not have a counsel meeting to attend to?"

"That I do, Annette. If you are sure then I shall be on my way."

He bowed a short bow as he resumed on his path to the governor's office. She watched him disappear once more, a frown made its way upon her lips as she whispered "Fair well."

Up in the study, a tall, dirty blonde man with dark blue-green eyes sits in wait for a certain twin to find him. A drink in his hand, thoughts racing to why she would be bothered with him this time around.

'Rebekah'

He grimaced as the name crossed his mind. Their baby sister, she had been growing weak. Falling in love with his adopted son Marcel, pathetic. He looks at the door as footsteps are heard climbing up the stairwell in a rush. It wasn't long before the doors to his study were barged open. Matching but lighter blue-green meets his own, a scowl on his sister's precious face.

"Niklaus."

She may have spoken low and softly but the tone behind it exposed her anger towards him.

"What pray tell can I do for you little sister?"

"Drop the smirk big brother and tell me for God's sake, why?"

"Why what? I seem to have done many things these past few days. Surely you can be more specific?"

"Rebekah, brother. Why must you punish her so? Why must you deny her any ounce of happiness she finds for herself? Why must you deny her what her heart wants?! Over and over again, you've taken away any source of love and happiness our littlest sister has managed to receive. Treating her as if she is nothing more than a little girl without a single clue of what she's doing." The soft whisper becoming loud shouts filled with ire and misery.

Yes, after so long of following her dearest brother's desires and rules, she's finally had enough of the games he likes to play. It's unfortunate for him that the same dagger he used on Rebekah does not work on either one of us. Else he would have no doubt daggered her, a long time ago.

After the sudden outburst of emotion the room was left in silence, but did not last long. The chair Klaus previously occupied hit the floor with a long bang, the cup of bourbon he once held in his hand shattered as his grip tightened around it. Now standing, Klaus towered over his sister by mere inches, burning holes into her mind with his glare.

"It would do you good, Annette, to remember your place. I am the one incharge, the one in command. I AM YOUR ALPHA!"

Annette flinched back as he shouted into her face, but held her head up in defiance to his words. Be as it may, no one should have that much power, to go so far as to try and dictate another's life. Even if that someone is their own sister.

"You may be my Alpha brother, but that in no way excuses the way you abuse your power. And not just over Rebekah, but over everyone including myself. Yes, I am your beta. And it will do you good to remember that if I truly wanted to, I could challenge you for the role or simply leave and build a pack of my own."

He laughed as if he were so sure of himself that my words are just a faux. He spent a good two minutes chuckling at the thought of it. Through it all my expression change for not. Once he found the will to look me in the eyes without rupturing into laughter, his grin slowly slipped away as he into realization.

"You're actually serious about this."

He stared as if trying to figure out the severity of my words. Before he slowly clapped, and the corner of his lips twitched upward.

"Truly pathetic, do you really believe this rubbish you're saying?" He asked in a mocking way, before sighing.

"Why can't you understand, the things I do are for her own good. For everyones including your own good. We both know Rebekah and the type of men she choses. No one is good enough for her… or you. But lucky for me, at least one of my sisters is smart enough to not frolic around with the undeserving men of this world."

"You're unbelievable, Nikky." I whispered, using a nickname I haven't spoken in over 200 years.

"Rebekah is smart too, you know that. But life isn't about having your big brother figuring everything out for you, it's about making mistakes and learning from them. She will never learn if you don't allow her to grow. Like you insinuated Rebekah isn't like me, and eventually you will come to regret the decisions you've made for her. She will grow tired of it and when she does. Things will go bad."

Never one for liking being told off, he held me by the throat, growling like some deranged mutt.

"You know NOTHING! What I do is none of your concern. Rebekah will come to learn her lesson or else, back she goes into her pretty little coffin. Be grateful the dagger is no use on you, or you would have joined our sister in her slumber."

Crack!
