Hey everyone! This is my first multi-chapter story and it's finally Sonic the Hedgehog related! I've been wanting to write this story for a while. I haven't decided on a proper update schedule at this moment but I promise you I won't abandon this story (if something happens, I'll update you in someway instead of going quiet.) I have huge plans for this. Hope you buckle in for some Silver and Amy related content and enjoy! Please feel free to leave a respectful review!
No matter what he did.
No matter the sacrifice.
The future always turned out to be doomed, as though it was destined to forever be in ruins no matter the change in past.
Silver begrudgingly realised this as he walked through a barren wasteland, just returning from an adventure in the past with Sonic and friends to save the world once again.
When he stepped through the time portal and saw the heart shattering sight beyond him, the young hedgehog couldn't help but become emotional and frustrated. His irises met with a decimated land, filled to the brim with rubble, robot parts and overgrown plant life.
His knees collapsed to the rocky ground, his fists shaking in pure anger.
His eyes producing tears full of agony and pain.
His hope crumbling just like the world he came from.
"No… no, no, no. Not again… NO!" He screamed in a shaky voice that echoed for miles around, whilst angrily levitating a rock nearby with his rare psychic powers, launching it through a small unstable building.
His emotions were to go wild.
Silver couldn't count how many attempts he tried to fix the place and time he supposedly belonged to. He was always hopeful, it was his driving motive.
Hope.
The hope for a better future. A better life. A better sense of belonging. All this time, Silver never gave up on that hope. But he had to admit it, that hope was diminishing every single time he tried to change the future with no single ounce of success.
Silver expected the images of a luscious Metropolis type city, a system bustling with life along with the wonders of advanced technology he always dreamed of living in, so he wouldn't feel alone by his looks and powers.
However, sadly glancing around him. Not a single soul roamed these decrepit soils…
The time traveller broke down in a heavier tearful rage. He did all he could, and yet his destiny remained the same.
Am I destined to be forever alone? Stuck in this endless loop of saving a time that refuses to change?
"Why… Why can't I be happy?!" He yelled, not realizing his telekinesis acting up.
The sorrow in his heart intensified, his powers began raking havoc. Boulders, collapsed buildings, the world itself shook as if it was going to break apart.
Silver wished to do just that. To end all the suffering he endured and bring this retched time down along with him.
But before he could demolish all remaining semblance of 'life' his own life flashed before him.
The images of his adventures in the past clouded his mind, the fights he took part in; feeling like an equal in battle. And the beauty of the world's past life, the people and nature. And all his friends which he built relationships with. Every time he travelled to the past, he was always happy. He wanted to always stay and explore. But his stubbornness and desperate hope for this 'future' got in his way. Could he really abandon all that?
No. I won't leave them. I want to be happy. Silver decided.
The rumbling all around stopped. All of the objects Silver had made rise from their graves fell down loudly. Even though tears were still streaming down his face, his ultimate and final independent decision brought a soft smile to his face.
Silver the Hedgehog knew where he wanted to be. He knew where he wanted to experience life at its happiest and exciting form. He knew where he wanted to live and learn.
At that moment, he took out his personal time stone that had brought him to this never-ending hell, thus opening a time portal and walking in towards the longing past.
He felt destined to have a new beginning.
