I'M BACK! So sorry for the extremely long delay. COVID-19 and the pandemic really impacted my personal life and mental health, but school is finished and summer is here! Cannot wait to get back into writing again! Enjoy this chapter and as always feel free to review! I'll even start responding to them at the end of every chapter from here on out. Stay safe and take care of yourselves! :)

Silver the Hedgehog, skilled telekinetic time traveller. Was not expecting his arrival to the past to end up like this.

"You're going to sit down and watch some good old TV!" Amy smirked towards her new house mate.

"T…V?" Silver quizzed with his brow raised.

Amy was not expecting that. "You don't know what TV is? You're telling me there's no form of television in the future?!"

That comment made the white hedgehog frown. It was obvious Sonic and friends had no idea of what the future is like. He never told them in depth. To them, it was probably a utopia.

But for Silver, a dystopia.

The pink hedgehog noticed the sudden sad look on Silver's face? Did I say something wrong?

Silver snapped out of his thoughts and rubbed the back of his head with nervousness, "Sorry Amy, well… the future is quite different to the past. I'd rather not draw comparisons." A sheepish smiled followed. Amy was the one now confused.

"Uh, ok... No matter!" She grabbed the remote and put on a romantic drama show she'd been watching, giggling with pure excitement. Then placing the remote down on the table covered in pink. "Be right back!" Amy rushed to grab some snacks, leaving Silver staring at the remote with curiosity and a desire to touch and find out how it works.

Whilst preparing a massive bowl of popcorn, Amy heard the sound of the channel change. "Huh?" Amy quickly sped into the living room about to show frustration towards the white hedgehog for turning off her favourite programme.

"Silver what are you-!" Amy paused her speech. Silver sat on the floor extremely close to the TV, fully engrossed with the cartoons displayed on screen. It was nothing he had seen before. The pink hedgehog smiled at his actions.

As much as Amy was happy Silver was being entertained, she was going to have to give him the classic saying. "Silver you shouldn't sit that close to the TV; you're going to hurt your eyes!" The pink hedgehog then went to grab the white hedgehog's hand to stand him up and take him towards the sofa.

In an instant Silver then gazed up at Amy as she took his hand, she had never noticed how gold coloured his eyes were. She had to admit to herself, they were mesmerising. Wait, what am I thinking?! I like emerald eyes way better!

On the other hand, Silver was wondering why Amy was staring at him for a few seconds. He assumed that she was scared for him. "Ok Amy I'm sorry. I'll get back on the sofa." Silver then levitated himself back up and to the designated space, all while still focusing on the cartoon.

Amy regained her thoughts and decided to sit down next to her new companion. He seems so happy; I'll catch up on my programme some other time. Besides, I'm supposed to make him feel comfortable here. The pink hedgehog hadn't watched cartoons in so long. I guess I can take a break from romantic dramas...

After an hour Silver had to admit, he was soon feeling much better. Constantly laughing loudly as the characters on the strange contraption went into shenanigans together, there was so much colour and movement, he felt drawn to it. Silver never had a chance to do this. He had to grow up extremely fast in his destroyed future. Catching up on his missing childhood felt like a blessing to him.

Amy turned to look at Silver, whose face was gleaming with a big dumb dorky smile splattered on his face. "You surprisingly enjoy cartoons a lot; don't you Silver? It's so cute to see you have so much fun, instead of being so serious all the time whenever we met." Amy's comment in turn made Silver blush in embarrassment.

Silver wasn't used to receiving compliments like that. "Thanks… how is Sonic and the others?" The white hedgehog asked trying to change the subject. He was met with a sad Amy Rose looking away in the opposite direction from him.

"Oh… well Sonic is trying to avoid me as always. I don't understand why! Doesn't he see that we make a perfect pair?" Amy smiled dreamily, lost in her romantic thoughts yet again.

"I'm sorry about that… what about the others?" Silver pushed, feeling uneasy diving into talking about someone's romantic problems. Last thing he needed was to say something wrong and get into trouble.

Amy returned to reality. "The others? They're ok. I was actually on the phone with Tails earlier talking about you, he's been trying to build a newer bigger model of the Tornado! Knuckles is on Angel Island guarding the Master Emerald, that's all he does. No one knows where Shadow ever is. Rouge has been doing spy work. The Chaotix have been doing detective work with all the crimes happening here lately. And Cream is doing well too, still a sweet child she is." She finished off.

"That's cool, hope I get to see them again! Well maybe not Shadow, he scares me sometimes." Silver joked earning a giggle next to him. "Yeah, he can look pretty intimidating, though he generally means well. He just isn't good at showing it."

Amy then realized she missed having company like this, someone to naturally talk to about normal things. Maybe Silver as her temporary companion will work out better than expected.

Hold on. The pink hedgehog then observed the mess they have made the past few hours. Oh no, what a mess! "Sorry Silver, I'll have to tidy up now. You can go and relax in your room if you want, I'll call you down for din-"

"Wait! That's not fair at all to you. If I'm going to stay here, I'm going to contribute to all the chores." Silver declared proudly, hands on his hips.

Amy felt conflicted, while a part of her wanted to treat Silver with hospitality. She knew Silver was very stubborn and would most likely not back down. It would be nice to have some help around here… "Hm, ok then! I have a list; we can split it into two." Amy explained. Instantly directing Silver towards what chores to do. This is going to be easy!

It was not easy in the slightest.

Amy had to teach Silver how to use a vacuum and mop, alongside teaching him about safety around the house.

"You have to be careful around the oven and hob. Until I feel that you are able to use it safely without trouble, you will ask me to assist you so I can make sure you don't set the house on fire." Amy said, partially joking. All the while Silver was writing down everything on a tiny notepad, constantly nodding his head with his tongue slightly poking out his lips in pure concentration. Cute. Amy thinks to herself and giggles.

Later on at dinner, turns out Silver also wasn't aware of table etiquette and how to correctly use his cutlery. "And to courteously cut a piece of your food, you use a fork in your right and your knife in your left hand." The pink hedgehog explained, standing behind him and holding his hands to demonstrate.

"Uh, wouldn't it be the other way around?" Silver questioned. Didn't know there was a specific way to use utensils? This whole becoming part of a society is going to be harder than I thought. "Also why does it matter exactly?". Amy heavily sighed but also smiled to herself. While helping Silver adjust to society and fitting in was going to take some time, Amy Rose loved a good challenge. "It's good to learn new skills and will prove handy when eating out in public, like a restaurant!" She explained sweetly. She was determined to teach Silver about this world and time, he deserves a fair chance.

"What's a restaurant?"

Oh boy.
