So I've decided to write another fic on *that* subject after listening to a song.

Those who have read my stories before know that I am a big Molly/CJ fan so please stay with me on this one.

I know that i said i wouldn't be writing anything but my mum told me to never stop writing so here is my new fic.

Want to thank Debbie for reading chapter one and two for me so that i can have someone look it over.

I am still really worried about posting this one though so please be nice :)

2018

When Molly got the visit from the men to tell her that Charles had been hurt in Bangladesh and that he was being flown back to the UK she knew that there were no options for her, she would be there anyway. He was her husband and even though they had broken up there was no way that she wouldn't go.

She got to the hospital at Brimingham and her heart was pounding in her chest as she rushed through the hospital, Molly knew where she was going after she asked the woman at the front desk where her husband would be. Molly can't help but blame herself for this even if she wasn't there; the talk they had had couldn't have helped.

When she got to the room and looked in the window and saw that Charles wasn't alone and then she saw Georgie holding his hand it actually hurt her. But this was the reason why she had left in the end, she had seen how obsessed he had become with protecting Georgie.

In honesty it was like she was looking in on her old self and now realised what Rebecca would've seen when she was here after Afghanistan.

On the way here there had been this hope that nothing had happened between Georgie and Charles but looking at them now it was hard not to see it.

Molly wondered if she should just leave because the last thing she wanted was to cause any discomfort in this situation. She turned to leave but before she could Charles' mother came to her side and now she felt an obligation to stay. It was the worst feeling.

"Molly, Dear," Pam said with a soft, sad, smile.

It was heartbreaking to see if she's being honest, for Pam and Robert's sake she hoped that he would be alright, did that make her petty if she didn't want him to be alright for Georgie? It did sound like it. It also made her feel horrible for wishing anything to happen to Charles especially when she loved him as much as she did but sometimes loving someone meant letting them go when the other person didn't want to fight for the relationship anymore.

"You should be in there, you are his wife after all" Pam spoke and looked over at her daughter in law. She knew of Charles' struggles and tried so hard, along with Molly, to get him to get some help. For him to admit that he had a problem in the first place but he just wouldn't and muttered that he had to get back to the team for Georgie's sake.

"I don't think that i could face them both," she admitted with a sort of sadness that she was hoping to keep away from her tone but unfortunately it had been there anyway.

Molly remembered the day that she had begged Charles to leave the Army, begged him to get the help that he needed. To stop getting hurt while away. He had looked at her as if she was a stranger to him and in the end decided to do exactly what he wanted. He got himself fit and ready to go back on tour and when Bones had been killed he had been slid back in as the Captain.

Maybe Molly should've stopped him, maybe she should've gone to his superiors and put a stop to it but she knew in the end he would probably hate her so she stayed quiet and now here they were.

Molly had told him that she wasn't sure if she wanted to be with him in a hope that it would knock him to his senses but unfortunately even that didn't work. In the end she knew she had to go when he stopped wanting to be in a marriage with her and started to obsess over Georgie.

A big part of her knew what she had done was the right thing because there was no point in staying in a marriage if it was going to make them both miserable and there was no way she was going to go blind to the fact that Charles didn't want to be with her anymore.

"I should be going" Molly spoke and looked over at Pam because honestly she didn't want to be here with Georgie.

"Nonsense" Pam spoke and looked over at her daughter in law once more, Charles really had screwed up this time. She had liked Rebecca but she loved Molly and now that she would be leaving the family Pam had wanted to knock some sense into charles herself because he was letting someone that amazing go.

Molly smiled slightly before looking over at the window once more and it was then that Georgie met her eyes and she let his hand go before moving away from the bed and in the direction of the door. Molly was feeling her stomach play up but she didn't want to let that show in front of the woman who was now walking out of the door.

"I didn't know that you were out here" Georgie admitted before holding the door open slightly for Molly to go in. "I'm sure that he would want to see you when he wakes up" she kept her eyes on the other dark haired woman and knew exactly what she had seen and was waiting for the onslaught from her. Instead Molly looked over at Pam who gave her a nudge as if telling her to go in and sit next to her husband. Then Molly looked back over at Georgie and she felt the shame and regret boil up in her body.

Molly moved from her spot and towards the door and as she did she whispered into Georgie's ear "I doubt that but then again i'm not sleeping with my best friends husband" she looked at her ex friends face before she pushed the door open the rest of the way and walked into the room that Charles had to himself. Talk about deja vu.

Georgie winced at that and moved out of the way before the door could hit her, in her defence he had told her that he and Molly were over. But then again would she had liked it if Molly done the same with Elvis? No she would be livid and would make sure that Molly paid for what she had done. She came to stand next to Charlie's mother and then looked in as Molly sat down in a seat.

"You can go now" Pam spoke very precise without looking over at Georgie, she didn't want to look at the woman who her son was throwing his wife away for. She might have been Elvis' love but with Elvis no longer here it didn't mean she had to jump in bed with her son.

Georgie felt tears burn in her eyes and nodded rather than speak and she gave Charlie one last look before moving down the corridor. She wasn't going to be leaving but sitting in the coffee shop she knew to be down the end.

-.-

It felt like hours later, it was probably minutes though, when the nurse came in and checked his vitals and she watched as the young blonde wrote on Charles' chart.

"How is he doing?" Molly asked after a moment. He hadn't woken up in the time she had been there or though he could've and probably saw that she was there and didn't want to face her right now but surely the nurse would know.

"He's stable so that's good and but we will be keeping an eye on him"

"And he should wake up?" Molly kept the questions coming because she was thankful for the talking rather than sitting here where the only noises were the sound of the machines.

"Yes he should" the nurse smiled softly and then went back to her chart before she put it back at the end of his bed and put the pen in the top pocket of her nurses uniform. She gave Molly another smile before she walked out of the room.

Molly almost pleaded with her to stay so that they could talk but she knew that she was probably busy with other patients so she sat back in her seat and settled her eyes back on her husband. She chewed on her lip for a moment before she reached out and took his hand, hers always was smaller than hers but it somehow fit just right.

"Can you see now this is why i wanted you to leave the Army?" she asked softly at him, bringing her eyes up to look at his face. She hated to say the next bit but it felt so much more true than she realised "2 Section is cursed" Molly still cared very much about the team that she had been with on her first tour of Afghan even if in the beginning they had made her life hell but that all settled down too. She had to admit that Charles was definitely one of those people who got hurt multiple times.

Why couldn't he ever see that what she had done was to make sure that he stayed safe after what happened with Elvis? To get him the help that he needed.

Molly had been in the middle of packing her stuff up at home when she had got that knock at the door, the one that any husband or wife or parent would dread.

She put her eyes back down on his hand and pulled it gently towards her lips and she laid a soft kiss on the skin there. "Come back to me," she whispered softly before putting her eyes back on his face "please just come back to me"

-.-

It got dark outside and the blinds in the room was shut while a light was put on with a soft glow so that it didn't over whelm the patient but it also gave the doctors and nurses light for them to see and Molly was still sat in the chair.

"Why don't you go and get some rest, we will let you know when he wakes up" the nurse was different this time, a red headed one, spoke to her and knew she had been sitting there since this morning because she had been told.

"I don't want to go home" she admitted before shaking her head. Molly was tired but she didn't want to go home until Charles woke up. Even if she wasn't sure when that would be and plus she didn't want Georgie to be in there when he did finally wake up.

"Well then go and get a cuppa, you look as if you need one" the nurse gave her a soft smile.

Molly looked over at Charles once more before she then nodded before standing up and stretching a little "You make sure you get me as soon as he wakes, or at least his mother" she knew that Pam would take over, her mother in law had been in a few times to sit with Molly but she herself had been sat in the same position as she had been when she came in and now she was finally moving. Molly ached just a little bit.

"I promise" the nurse said with another soft smile and then went back to checking his vitals.

-.-

Molly walked into the canteen and was rubbing at her neck from the position she had been in for most of the day and saw Charles' mum was sat there at a table staring at her own cuppa. She ordered herself one and then took it over to the table where she had seen Pam before sitting down at the table with her.

"The nurse finally tell you to move?" Pam had tried to get Molly to go and get a drink with her a little while but she had wanted to stay where she was so for her to be here now was only because the nurse had made her move.

Molly nodded and put two sugars into her tea before stirring it with a spoon "The nurse said that she would get either me or you when he wakes up" she took a sip of her hot cuppa and winced when she actually burnt her tongue but she needed a drink.

"I'm sorry that you had to see her here" Pam spoke after a moment and put her eyes on Molly who was putting her cup back down on the table.

Molly wasn't sure if she wanted to have that conversation here but of course it was bound to come up at some point. "You know in the end I left because of the fact he just stopped wanting to be in the marriage but I never thought that it would be them together so quick, I thought they would have at least waited for a little bit" she frowned a bit and looked down.

"It shouldn't have happened in the first place and we both know that if Elvis was here then it wouldn't have happened at all"

"Do we?" Molly asked after a moment and looked over at her mother in law. "Do we really know that?"

"Yes because Elvis was in love with Georgie and she didn't look twice at Charles and he didn't look at her, to him you were all there was; you and Sam were his world and I really am sorry how all of this worked out my dear" She put her hand on Molly's and gave it a squeeze.

It was only then that she realised just how much she really needed a squeeze when Pam done it. She had been holding on too long today and now it felt like she could break down. "What am I going to do?" she asked in a whisper.

"I don't know but right now we're going to have a cuppa and hopefully something will come to us"

Unfortunately nothing came to them and in the end Molly went back to Charles' room and saw that he hadn't woken up, Pam joining her and the two of them sat outside of the room on the chairs and she remembered doing this two other times. One after they came back from Afghanistan only that time it had been with Smurf and the second was when Charles had got injured in the Belize jungle.

Molly kept her eyes on the window until she couldn't see it and slowly fell asleep with her head on her mother in law's shoulder. That would probably have been weird looking but honestly she didn't care because at least there was someone else there that was going through the same thing as her.
