I pull the plug, letting the tub drain. It's only seven in the morning and I'm wide awake. I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night after Austin(Adam Cole)... kissed me? I shake my head. It's such a weird thought to have. Austin kissed me. Austin Jenkins kissed me. Adam fricking Cole kissed me.
I shake my head again as I dry off. I needed to stop thinking about it. After putting on my undergarments, I grab the pair of sheer tights I brought in with me and pull them on carefully. I slide on the long-sleeved black leotard I brought in, quickly stepping into my green knee-length skater skirt. As I sigh, I walk back into my room and put on a pair of black suede pointed ankle heel-boots.
I find my gym bag and throw my green pointe shoes into it after making sure it was empty. I open my dresser and grab a pair of green workout shorts before quickly throwing it in there as well. I restock the bag with body wash, deodorant, spare charger, and travel make-up kit. I grab my water bottle before walking to the kitchen and dumping it before re-filling it. I groan rather loudly as I get back to my room and chuck my bottle into my bag.
I walk back into the bathroom and after brushing my hair, I fix into a neat bun. Once I hairspray it down, I check the time again. 7:45. Jesus… I sigh before I start searching for my keys. I grab my phone, tucking it into the waistband of my skirt and head back into my room. After tearing my room apart, I spot my keys on the floor. I snatch them up and grab my gym bag and make my way out of the house.
After I get in my car, I connect my phone to my car bluetooth and put on some music. As I get almost to Xplosive Dance, the music stops and Sarah's ringtone goes off. I press a button on my steering wheel to accept the call.
"What's up Sarah?" I can hear the soft chatter of the PC behind her.
"Are you driving? You sound a little far."
I chuckle softly. "Yes, I'm on my way to the dance studio. I told you guys the other day, Thursday would be for ballet and gym."
"When you say gym, do you mean here gym? Or do you mean a different gym?"
As I pull into Xplosive, I think for a moment. "I think the PC. Why?"
She pauses before answering. "Just asking. I gotta go, Matt's waiting."
She hangs up without another word, causing me to slump back in my driver seat. I shake my head before unbuckling and heading into the normally opens later during the day but there's a big recital going on, so they're opening up the studio early so classes can rehearse.
I nod in greeting to the secretary at her desk before making my way down a long hall. After finding the door to the studio I was looking for, I walk in and close the door behind me. I sigh as I walk further in, putting my bag down in a corner where the mirror meets the wall. I slide out of my skirt and put it on top of my bag before sitting down and pulling off my boots. After putting everything in my bag I grab my green pointe shoes out. Once I've put them on and tied them, I make my way to the center of the room.
Normally I warm up, but I sigh as I sit. I look at myself in the reflection for a bit, seeing someone completely different from a few months ago. I turn my head enough to get a profile glance of myself. Even my face looks more defined. I get up and go to my bag, grabbing my phone. I set it on a lyrical playlist that has a delay before it begins. I find the center of the room after dropping my phone onto my bag. I lay down and wait for the music to start. The opening beats of Hold On by Extreme Music hit and I close my eyes before letting the music flow through me, and my body starts carrying out the motions.
I sigh as I sit in my car in the parking lot of the performance center. I went way longer than I wanted to in the studio, but I'll feel like absolute crap if I don't work-out properly. I shake my head, trying to clear it. My mind is still clouded by last night's events. I call Nattie, growing somewhat anxious as I hear the call sound trilling through my car.
"Abigail? What's up," Nattie asks as soon as she answers. I rarely call, even though we text frequently.
I sigh. "I don't know Nattie. A lot, I guess." I chuckle. "I'm so like… not confused, but just clouded right now."
"What happened," she asks as I hear the background noise on her end die down and a car door shut.
"Austin kissed me last night."
"Excuse me?" I chuckle at her reaction. "Wait, seriously?"
"Yeah." I lean back in my seat a bit, picking my legs up into the seat. One of the many pluses to having a big car. "We were backstage and we were talking about how a few nights ago it sounded like he was asking me out when he really wanted a group thing and, apparently I've been acting differently since. I told him that I guess I got excited but confused at the same time when it seemed like he was asking me out. I told him I'm still working through my break-up with Jared and that I also have feelings for Bobby."
"Woah, woah, woah. Also? So you told him you have feelings for him?"
I sigh. "He straight up asked."
"Jeez, wow." She sighs. "What now?"
"I don't- I don't know Nattie. I like them both but I am trying to figure out if I'm fully okay with myself after the break-up. It hurts but I don't think I still carry a torch for him, you know?"
"Yeah, no, I get it. He'll always carry a special place to you but after being told what he told you…" She sighs before going on. "It's a tough situation."
"Tough is an understatement. When I came here, I never once pictured this situation."
Nattie laughs. "At least they're both single and not getting a divorce, which would lead people to call you a home-wrecker."
I softly laugh. "Fair enough. I'm at the gym now, I just needed to get this all out."
"I understand, it's totally fine Abigail."
I sigh. "I miss you."
She laughs. "I miss you too, maybe I'll come visit soon."
We wrap up the conversation and hang up. I finally turn off my car and grab my bag before getting out and making my way into the PC. I take note of the training classes as I enter, even waving to Matt. I walk into the locker room and find a little nook to change in. I slip off my black heels as well as my sheer tights before pulling on my dark green work-out shorts on. After grabbing and putting on a pair of socks, I shove my feet into my sneakers and shove everything else back into my bag. I fix my hair into a neater ponytail, grab my bag and walk out of the locker room.
I drop my bag by the rack of dumbbells, alongside the others before looking around the center again as I try to decide what I want to work on. My mind is quickly made up for me when I heard Matt call out.
"Yes coach?"
"You mind coming over here and helping Serena and me with your former class?"
I chuckle as I start jogging to them. "Got it, coach."
We've officially wrapped up for the day, and now I'm spotting Sarah as she squats. It was fun to help my former class out as well as get a workout in at the same time. Sarah comes up one more time before putting the bar away.
"Thanks for making your way here," she says as she picks up her bag.
"Oh no problem. It seemed like you really wanted to talk." I shrug.
She nods as we start making our way to the locker room. "You left out pretty abruptly last night. Everything all good?"
I sigh. "How about we talk about that in the car?"
Sarah nods and we enter the locker room. Normally I would take a small shower after a workout, but I've already been sweaty in my clothes. So while Sarah heads to the showers, I find the same little nook I was changing in earlier and kick my shoes and socks off as well as slide my shorts off. I kneel down and open my bag, pulling out my perfume and deodorant, as well as my skirt and heels before putting my shorts and shoes in the bag. I pull my skirt back on and gingerly step into my heels. I reach under my leotard and re-apply some deodorant before carefully placing my deodorant back in the bag. I spritz on my honeysuckle perfume and put that in my bag as well and take a seat on a bench as I wait for Sarah.
I lay back and start doing random leg stretches and movements while also rolling my neck a bit. I stop and let my body just go limp and I blindly fish out my phone from my bag. Once in hand, I sit up and start scrolling through my phone in a more so absentmindedly manner as I wait for Sarah. As I'm starting to doze off she walks out, completely ready minus her hair wrapped in a towel.
"Would you mind braiding my hair? A French braid." I turn on the bench and motion for her to sit down. "Thank you."
"Oh of course hun." She sits down and I take her hair down and wrap the towel around her shoulders before brushing her hair out. "So what about last night did you wanna ask about?" I set to work on Sarah's hair.
"You left out instead of coming back to the group. Austin was acting weird too. Is everything okay?" I hum softly as I get to a halfway point on her hair. "Bobby and Kyle picked up on it too, Chris(Roderick Strong) was too busy on his phone."
I chuckle at that. "Chris was texting me. I don't know if things are okay, but I hope they will be. I'll explain in the car, or at my house if you want to come over for a bit." I finish her braid and reach my hand forward for the hair tie.
"Chris was texting you?" She hands me the hair tie as I hum in response. "So he in his own way noticed as well," she trails off.
I finish tying her hair tie in and stand up, grabbing my bag. "Chris is very attentive." Sarah grabs her own bag and stands up. "I'm sorry I caused any worry last night," I say to her as we exit the locker room.
"Nah, it's okay as long you're okay babe." I steer us in the direction of the vending machine and feed it a dollar. "Ah, your post work-out lemonade."
I chuckle as I squat down to get it. "Old tradition of mine. It used to be a pre-show ritual as well."
"Oh? A good luck thing of sorts?" I hum in response as I drop the bottle into my bag. I feed the machine another dollar. "Always learn new things about you." She pauses for a second as I squat down again, now retrieving a peanut butter granola bar. "Oh hi Austin." I stand up a little quicker than before and turn to face the man himself.
He nods. "Hey Sarah, Webst- Abig- Webster." I cover my mouth as I try to not laugh. "Everything good with you guys?"
Sarah beats me to answer, so I just move out of the way of the vending machine. "Yeah, we're all good. I think we might be having a girls day shortly here." I nod as she looks at me.
Austin nods and looks over at me, and I can't quite meet his eyes. "Yeah, we're gonna head to my house I think." I look over to Sarah and raise an eyebrow. She nods and I look back to Austin.
He hums a bit. "If you guys aren't too busy later, a bit of the NXT roster is chilling at my house. Some of the RAW and SmackDown rosters are coming too, a few are in town."
I look back to Sarah and raise an eyebrow again. She answers for me, picking up on what I'm trying to put down. "If we have time, for sure. But-"
"But we should really head out," I cut her off looking back over at Austin, still not quite meeting his eyes. He nods.
We say our goodbyes and head our separate ways. I link arms with Sarah and we make our way to my car.
"So what the heck happened?"
We're in my living room sitting on the couch drinking tea. "So what are you gonna do?"
I sigh, setting my cup down. I caught Sarah up to speed. "I don't know Sarah. I think I could like them both, but I don't know what to do. I don't know how I'm feeling after Jared and everything that happened there. I don't know if my feelings are stronger for Bobby or Austin. I don't even know if my feelings for Bobby are existent or if I think I like him because of the time we spend together." I groan in frustration. "I hate this."
She sets her cup down. "We're gonna do something my brother used to do for me when I was having trouble making choices. I'm going to hit you with two different choices. Don't think about it, just go with your gut reaction." I nod. "Chocolate or peanut butter?"
"Peanut butter."
"Apples or oranges?"
"Apples."
"Books or movies?"
"Books."
"Kyle or Chis?"
"Chris"
"Morning or night?"
"Night"
"Dance or wrestling?"
"Sa- wrestling."
"Weights or walking?"
"Weights," I reply with a sigh as I start getting impatient.
"Daria or Alexis?"
"Alexis."
"Green or yellow?"
"Yellow."
"Bobby or Austin?"
"Bobby." We both stare at each other as my mouth drops open slightly. "Oh."
Sarah crooks her head slightly. "Then you like Austin more." I raise an eyebrow. "You seem surprised that you said Bobby, and you look like you're in pain. It's probably a pain originating from your stomach, right?" I nod. "Do me a favor. Talk about them both, I'll cut you off when I feel it's time to. Say whatever you want about both of them."
I pull my legs up and wrap my arms around them. "Austin made me nervous the first day I met him, when I was late to the PC. I knew of him from NXT of course, and he intimidated the crap out of me. Practices passed, and we started talking more and more. He became a friend along the way. All the sleep overs, all the sparring…" I look out the window.
"Bobby and I met backstage at a show. I didn't want Austin to know I had been there and Bobby caught me trying to hide from him. He took me around a corner and asked what the heck I was doing." I couldn't help but chuckle at that. "I told him who I was, and that Austin and I had been working at the PC a fair bit. He knew me by name." By this point I'm grinning. "We traded numbers so he could text me that it was clear to leave and he went to distract Austin and the rest of the boys. I got the text and made a dash for it. After that, Bobby and I kept texting, mostly talking training but we also did get to know each other."
I look over to Sarah who just nods, telling me to go on. I look back out the window. "Austin and sparred a bit, and uh, I have also shown him my dancing. Nothing that had been choreographed, nothing that had been performed… just me." I open my mouth but end up shutting it again, not able to say anything else. I look back to Sarah.
"You, Abigail, just proved me right. You have feelings for Austin, that are stronger than those for Bobby. You could keep talking about things that have occurred with you and Austin, couldn't you?" I nod. "But you don't have much more for Bobby, do you?" I bite my lip and shake my head slightly before I look out the window again. "So what are you going to do?"
I can't help but laugh. "I don't have a single clue."
