The Final Battle

Just as Zedd was about to slam his staff and end this farce of a resistance, a jet of white light hit his staff, shattering it into half.

"WHO DARES?" He snarled, his visor glowering red, only to see Zordon and his teammates. "Oh, it's you. Finally got your head out of the tube, eh?"

"It ends now, Zedd. Rita and Vile are destroyed. There is nowhere for you to run." The eltarian announced while his friends charged at the muranthians.

"Do you really think after centuries of war, you'd defeat us so easily?" He cackled, summoning the Orb of Doom and unleashing a bolt of dark energy at the eltarian.

"Impossible!" Zordon gasped, creating a forcefield with his staff and nullifying the attack.

"It really isn't." He gloated. "As you can see, I have already won. This object far surpasses the meagre abilities of the zeo crystal your pesky brats were able to recover from the catacombs under my castle. You really have no chance!"

The mystics had ascended to titan mode to help the megazords finish off the vast armada of mindless monsters leaving behind the Keeper, Mystic Mother and Heckyl to face Snide.

"What chance do you have of defeating me?" Snide sneered at Heckyl and Keeper, batting off an energy attack by Udonna.

"Wait and watch." The man smirked, taking out a purple gem while Keeper raised his staff, the yellow gem embedded in it glowing brightly. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME! UNLEASH THE POWER!"

With a flash of white light, they were transformed into rangers.

"TALON RANGER!" Heckyl announced, clad in an indigo armour, accented with gold. He swung a rapier as lightning cackled around him.

"AMBER RANGER!" Keeper found himself clad in a yellow ranger suit and armed with his familiar staff.

"POWER RANGERS DINO CHARGE!"

"Impressive. But fancy armour or not, you'll still fall." The villain pounced at them, only to be smacked in the face by Keeper's staff. As he sailed in the air, Heckyl took to the air, slashing his counterpart with his rapier, sending sparks cackling through Snide's armour.

Mystic Mother dealt the finishing blow. A single bolt of white magic that caused him to explode into smithereens.

Leanbow and Bowen fought side by side against Gaisoulg.

"You were born from a part of me. My darkness. But even when I was fighting under the thrall of Octomus, I was never truly evil. My honour prevented me from crossing lines." Leanbow gritted his teeth, blocking Gaisoulg's sword with his shield.

"I am not you. I am not Korrag. And I'm not the embodiment of the dragon coin. I'm the vessel of darkness, the Void Knight, Gaisoulg!" He seethed, unleashing a wave of dark energy from his sword that threw his attackers back. "I have no weakness!"

"Very well, if you have chosen your fate, I will have no qualms about destroying you!" Leanbow swore, jumping at him and pointing his shield at the purple knight. The silver centrepiece in the shield opened up to reveal a crimson eye that launched a pack of red spectral wolves at the knight. "Wolf Attack!"

The wolves pounced at the knight, forcing him back several steps until he swung his sabre, destroying them. Almost instantly, he was hit by a fiery phoenix, that picked him up and flew high up before letting go of him. He yelled as he pummelled to the ground.

"ENOUGH!" he grunted, willing his dark energies to cushion his fall. "I am done with your parlour tricks!"

"I agree." Bowen the red mystic smirked, snapping his fingers as a portal opened over them and a dragon flew out, roaring at him. It landed behind the wizard and with a flash of blinding light, it merged with him, empowering him. His cloak was replaced by a pair of majestic dragon wings and his armour gained golden and blue highlights. "Red Dragon Fire Ranger!"

He swung his twin batons at the knight, the force of the attack sending him back staggering into a sand dune.

"UNISION RAID!" Bowen and Leanbow shouted, pointing their weapons and a torrent of destructive crimson energy hit him, obliterating him completely, leaving behind only a pile of golden dust.

Tommy took in the destruction that had ravaged the Command Center as they teleported in to see a bunch of new rangers battling volcanic monsters while a navy ranger fought against Zedd. He shook his head. If anyone had told him even a day ago that there could be so many rangers, he would have laughed in their faces but honestly, they had been a godsend.

"You guys help these guys. I'll help that guy who is fighting Zedd." He said, summoning Saba and leaping at Zedd, hitting him with Saba's optic lasers.

"Tommy." It was Zordon's voice.

"Zordon, you are a ranger?" He asked incredulously.

Zedd cackled as the Sword of Darkness materialised in his hands. "A ranger? Seriously have you told your charges nothing about yourself, eltarian whelp!"

"It matters not. They know enough." Zordon said, brandishing his staff and sending a wave of fire at the conqueror, who dispelled it with his sword.

"I have wasted enough time battling. It's time for all of you to pay!" He slammed the Orb of Doom to his chest, cackling madly as his body devolved into black mist that swirled and rose to the skies, tearing through the roof of the Command Centre.

They looked up to see a gigantic dragon tower over them.

"What do we do?" Kim asked as she and Kat slayed the last muranthian.

"There are no zords left to fight this thing. All of them are still protecting Angel Grove!" Rocky shouted.

"We don't need the zords. We are standing in the nexus of Earth's ley lines. All of us have the Great Power flowing through us. This is where we are strongest. While Zedd is strong, there are no limits to what the Morphin Grid can achieve at this specific place." Dulcea stated. "Any other place you wouldn't have been able to restore Zordon to life when Ooze killed him. The power of your planet added with the morphin grid helped you to revive him."

"So, what do we do?" Adam asked.

"Form a circle." The ninjetti master instructed, linking her arms with Dimitria and Kimberly. "All of us. Divert your power to the centre."

With a shrug, all of them including the Lightspeed rangers, the blue Omega ranger and the Meledon rangers joined hands and concentrated. Their armour left them and Kim gasped as she saw Trini smile at her when the blue omega armour faded away. A glowing ball of golden energy converged on top of them, before streaking towards Zedd.

He roared as the golden light became a web that entrapped him, the light burning through his body till nothing was left except a silver orb, which merged with the golden ranger energy to become a wave of blinding white light that spread through the entire desert, eradicating the demons the zords were fighting. The wave didn't stop there and encompassed the entire universe, destroying all demonic and evil forces.

Goldar, Vrak, Vile's lieutenants and the forces of the Machine Empire… all of them were destroyed.

Thrax giggled as his demoness babysitter was destroyed by the wave. The golden light swirled around him as he was teleported away.

"What was that?" Tommy breathed.

"That was the Great Power, Zeo Crystal, Terran energies interacting with the power of the Orb of Doom." Dulcea spoke, smiling. Tears came out from her eyes. "I can feel it. The war is finally over!"

"Aie aie aie!" Alpha 5 swung his arms. "There are no traces of evil energies left in this entire universe!"

At that moment, Sabrina and the other rangers who were fighting the zord battle teleported in front of them. "What happened?"

"We won!" Rocky whooped, hugging Adam. "Whatever we did destroyed all evil in the entire universe!"

"That's rather anticlimactic. If we could have done that by combining our powers, why didn't we do it before?" Kim asked.

"The Morphin Grid is all about balance. Zedd forced our hand and enabled us to use this power." Zordon explained, smiling as he linked his arm with Fienna. "But even I didn't think that our combined powers would be able to neutralise all evil."

"Trini!" Zack shouted. The other original morphin rangers and Matt noticed the blushing girl smiling at them all and rushed over to hug her.

"I remember guys." She smiled, tears streaming from her eyes. "I remember everything!"

As the rangers rejoiced, Zordon smiled. It was a wrong that was finally made right.

Then a golden light appeared near their feet, depositing a baby in a crib. Fienna's eyes widened, recognising the familiar energy signatures. It was Rita's child, Thrax. She took him to her arms. She might not have been able to save her own daughter from darkness, but fate had given her a second chance with her grandson. Zordon put his arms around her as he made wiggly eye brows at the baby. An unspoken agreement passed between them as she held the baby closer. They would raise him as their own.

Sabrina hugged her grand-nephew, Dex as Alpha started a communication with King Lexian. With all evil gone, so was his evil uncle Count Dregon and Edenoi was finally free.

Dimitria and Dulcea talked with the mystics as they made plans to include Sentai Six in the Order of Meledon and reintroduce them to the wider galaxy.

The Lightspeed rangers smiled as Andros and Karone introduced them to Zhane.

Evil was finally vanquished after centuries of senseless war. Sure, Zedd wasn't defeated in single combat by either Tommy, Jason or Zordon. The last battle that secured their victory was not fought by any one of them, but by all of them. Their combined powers, their dedication to save innocent lives wiped all evil, ushering in a golden age for the entire universe.

Zordon finally married his true love, Fienna and settled on the planet he'd protected for thousands of years, becoming it's official ambassador to the Council of Worlds. He raised Thrax, renamed Zayto as his own son. He and Fienna had two beautiful daughters, Zelya and Zelena. And he remained close with all of his rangers as the years went by.

To no one's surprise, Tommy and Kimberly married and had a daughter Jenna, who took after her mother as the Pink Ranger but she shared her father's interest in martial arts. Tommy and Kim took the initiative of creating Earth's first Ranger Academy.

Billy and Trini ended up together and after saying their vows, went on an intergalactic honeymoon to explore the universe they spent years protecting.

Jason took over Promethea and became charge of Earth's defence against hostile forces.

Sabrina returned to Edenoi and took over the throne while Dex remained on Earth with his adopted family. He eventually married Katherine and their child became Earth's first human Masked Rider.

Zack and Aisha had a joint wedding with Rocky and Adam.

Matt returned to Angel Grove and after a few years, developed a close friendship with Dulcea, which eventually turned to a love story for the ages.

Dimitria became the leader of the Council of Worlds and found a kindred spirit in Heckyl.

Zhane and Karone married. Andros and his husband Carter took reins of Operation Lightspeed, which was eventually rechristened New Tech City, a safe haven for all alien immigrants. Ravi and his wife Roxy retired from ranger duty and led a peaceful life in Silver Hills. Orion, Damon and Cassie became in charge of an intergalactic peace corps.

The rangers led significant lives even after the Final Battle. Being a ranger was a significant part of their lives and the lessons they learnt stayed with them their entire lives. They remained heroes even outside of the battlefield, influencing people to be the best versions of themselves, to make the right decision, even when it's not the easy one and always helping those in need.

That's it guys. The end of this story for now. I know it came a bit abruptly but honestly the plans for this story changed a lot. But I'm happy with this story. I've been writing this for the last two years and it's my first complete Power Rangers story.

I had plans for a sequel focusing on Tommy and Kimberly's daughter, Jenna and a prequel focusing on Matt when he was the yellow Morphin ranger but I'm shelving those plans for now, though I might come back to them later.
