Author's note: I will be updating this at some point but I wanted to get this out there before I lost it. So here is the beginning of a story.
"Where are the goo kits again? They keep moving them." Edric asked as he Emira and Amity walked through the aisles. Edric casually browsing the heart shaped box of chocolates and heart shaped tart candies with small printed phrases on them.
Amity rolled her eyes, "Do I look like I work here Edric? I don't know go ask a worker." She spout venomously. Already irritated with their presence. She had wanted to come to the store alone but her older siblings had insisted on tagging along as Edric needed more supplies to prank people with and Emira needed some things as well.
Edric smirks, "Aww come on Mittens is that any way to treat your older sibling?" he says as he walks up to her casually putting his elbow on her shoulder for him to lean on. Amity fumed silently trying to shrug off his arm. After a moment he leans back and says to Emira, "Hey Emira I think Mittens here needs a reminder on the importance of respecting your elders."
Emira looks up from the heart shaped candy she was browsing a second ago, "Huh? Oh, yeah. Respect your elders or whatever." waving a hand dismissively to her twin, Emira returns her gaze back to the candies, "What kind of candy does Viney like? The subject has never come up when we've hung out before. I have no idea what to get her." The older Blight sibling obviously lost in thought as she considered her options.
Edric removes his arm from Amity's shoulder appalled his twin wasn't interested in teasing their younger sibling, "Em what are you doing? Your missing out on a perfect opportunity to make fun of Mittens." As he walks over to Emira to find out what she was otherwise distracted with Amity took the opportunity to sneak away and go into the next aisle.
Once there she took a moment to gather herself before looking around to see what she could find to give to Luz. Valentine's Day was coming up and Amity was going to take this chance to confess her love for Luz. Her cheeks grew hot at the idea of telling the human how she felt after harboring these feelings for so long.
It had been almost a full year since Luz had come to the Boiling Isles and only half of that time had she and the strange human been on friendlier terms. Though that was mainly on Amity's part as she initially wanted nothing to do with the troublesome girl. Yet now the young witch could hardly imagine her life without Luz in it.
Amity looked up and down the aisles seeing teddy bears with hearts on them with the words written "I love you!" or "Will you be mine?" she shook her head as an image of Luz giving her one of them crossed her mind. It was becoming more often, she noted, for her to daydream of Luz confessing to her. Or of her reciprocating Amity's feelings once she confessed. Sadly, they were but day dreams and were very unlikely to come true. She picked up a box of chocolates in a heart shaped box, maybe she could make Luz some home made chocolates.
"Amity?" a familiar voice came from behind her. Oh no. Amity turned around to see that it was in fact, Luz. Looking as perfect as always and holding a handheld basket filled with various ingredients for what she couldn't tell.
"What are you doing here?" Luz asked walking towards her. Amity dropped the box she was holding and kicked it away from them.
"Oh! H-hi Luz! I was just uh helping Emira pick out a valentine for her special someone!" she said a little too loud. Thinking quickly for a reason to be in the Valentine's Day section and not expose herself. Luz nodded, "Ohhh I see hehehe. I think I have an idea who that special someone is." Luz leaned closer to Amity in a conspirital way, "I see Emira hanging out with a certain beastkeeper quite a lot." She giggled and leaned away Amity agreed, not wanting to confirm nor deny what was a private part of her older sister's life.
"Ye-yeah they have sure gotten close. Heh heh, uh what are you doing here? Running some errands for Eda?" Amity asked wanting to change the subject. Luz nodded again, "Yup just picking up some last minute things so Eda can finish a big order I'm probably going to need to do multiple trips all around town. But I'll do anything for Miss Eda!" Luz exclaimed proudly. Amity allowed herself to smile at that, it was such a Luz thing to say. A thing that showed throughout her character and general personality. Always willing to go that extra mile.
"Amity? Are you okay? You look a little flushed." Amity broke out of her thoughts as Luz called her name. Embarrassed she reassured her, "Yes, I'm fine Luz its just a little warm in here." she then fanned herself as if to cool herself down. Luz frowned a little after looking around for a second she asked, "Do you want to get a drink at a cafe after this? I don't want you collapsing from dehydration." Amity carefully examined her face trying to decipher why she cared so much of her well being. But ultimately amounted it to Luz being Luz. She was just caring that way.
Amity smiled, "That sounds nice but don't you have to get those ingredients back to Eda right away?" she asked hoping she didn't so they could spend more time together. Luz looked down and visibly deflated, "Oh...yeah I do. Well maybe some other time we can just hang out?" Luz asked hopefully. Amity's smile lessened, a little disappointed but understanding, "Yeah. I look forward to it, Luz. Just let me know when you're free." She said a bit sadly.
Luz turned to get back to what she was doing, "Okay! Be sure to buy a water or something okay? I'll let you know when I'm free as soon as I can. Bye!" Luz said as she walked away. Amity watched her go her mood increased exponentially from the breif encounter. Luz just had that kind of effect on her.
Amity walked towards the baking section and found some melting chocolate made to be melted. She figured Luz deserved that extra mile she was always putting out there for others.
