Ethan groaned as he rubbed his head. His back was laid across solid stone.

SMACK!

"Ow!" Ethan exclaimed, jerking upright. In front of him was a large wall of fire, Brandon with a mischievious smile, Tsunami, Clay, that black dragon he saw when they were kidnapped, and….

The Doctor and Martha!

Martha ran over and hugged him, and he hugged back.

"What happened while I was out?" Ethan asked.

"Scarlet and some SandWing named Burn locked us up in the room where a psycho sleeps using that wall of fire to keep us in," Brandon said. "Remember that dragon with the flames bursting out of her scales when we were climing the wall?"

Ethan nodded. "That was the psycho,"

Clay looked like he wanted to argue, but didn't.

"All that matters is that we're alive," The Doctor said. His eyes lit up. "Oh! I forgot to say. Meet Starflight," He gestured to the black dragon.

"I already told him why he can understand us," Martha said. "All we need to do now is to figure out how to get out,"

Ethan looked at the wall of flames blocking their path. He looked at the bottom of the flames….

Coal. Maybe if-

A dragon head popped though the fire. Ethan jumped backwards with a yelp and reached for his Colt Python. They apparently took his uzis so he was stuck with this.

The dragon had fiery, copper scales, raging blue eyes, smoke rising off her scales…

Wait a minute, smoke?

"I'm not mad," She said. He must have missed something while he was thinking on a way out.

Tsunami hissed and jumped back in alarm. Martha took a step back, Brandon took a step forward in a threatening manner, and Starflight crouched and froze, keeping his attention on the dragon.

Why is this dragon not burning up in the flames? Ethan wondered.

"Oh, good," Clay said with relief. Ethan got up and kept looking at her. It seems like these two know each other….

"Where have you been?" Clay asked. Ethan walked over to the Doctor and Martha.

"Who is that?" Ethan asked. The Doctor scratched his chin.

"Her name is Peril," The Doctor said. "She's a…rare case,"

Ethan shot him a confused look. "Rare?"

"Well, she has firescales. They are extremely rare, and if one does come up, the SkyWings kill that child while they're unable to fly," The Doctor explained. "She's only here because Queen Scarlet decided to spare her for multiple reasons. Mainly for her arena," The Doctor glanced back at Peril. "Sad thing is, she's being manipulated."

Ethan gave him another look. "How?"

"Basically, she's being told she was born a killer so she has to be one," Martha interjected. "Now can we please stop talking about this and find a way out?"

Ethan nodded.

Starflight jumped to his… feet? Talons?

"I know what to do!" He exclaimed.

"In the arena?"Tsunami asked skeptically.

"No, right now," He said. "I know how we can get out of here,"

"How?" Brandon asked. Starflight pointed at the flames.

"Peril, the fire doesn't hurt you, right?" Starflight asked.

Peril shrugged. "It tickles a little, that's all,"

The Doctor's eyes lit up like fireworks in the sky. He started jumping around.

"I see what you're doing!" He exclaimed. "Peril, you can move the coal out of the way so we can escape! Starflight, you're brilliant!"

Peril tilted her head at Starflight. "He is smart," She said. "Just like you said. I guess I could do that," She sounded unsure, as if she didn't completely want to do it. "If you're sure you want to escape tonight,"

"Of course we are," Tsunami said. "Let's get out of here,"

"But Sunny-" Starflight said.

"We hide somewhere and wait until Peril can free her tomorrow," Tsunami said, cutting him off.

"And Glory," Clay said. "We have to save Glory too,"

Brandon facepalmed as The Doctor let out a disappointed sigh.

"Glory?" Peril's brow formed into a frown.

The pieces came together. Peril had a crush on Clay. No wonder she seemed so attentive to him.

Although Ethan was getting annoyed at this. This has been going on a while, and they didn't want to be caught.

"C'mon, let's go!" Ethan shouted. "I don't think any of us want to be here when those two come back!"

"He's right," Martha said. "Let's go!"

In a haste, Peril moved the rocks of coal aside, and they all ran out. She placed them back as they were before.

"There. Now she won't know how you got out," Peril said.

"Clever," Brandon said. They all ran down the walls.

How will they get out? Ethan assumed they were a few hundred feet up in the air…

Ethan shook the thought away. They'd find a way. They have to.
