I do not own Naruto or Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, they belong to the rightful owners but I'm too lazy to name them.
I'm sorry if this sucks.

"I'm sorry, what?"
Gaara was greatly confused. Not by what the girl in question was wearing or anything, which he should be since that's not what people normally wear out in the public, but by her weird question. What did she mean 'you can see me?'. It's not something you ask people you just met.
The girl stared at Gaara before turning around and placing her arms behind her back. She walked a couple of feet before turning her head towards him. "I take it you attend Minegahara High School, right? You look young enough to attend."
Gaara shook his head before answering. "No, but I plan on applying there to study after I... transferred from a different school. Why, do you attend there?"
The girl turned her entire body around to face him. "Yes, a third-year student."
Gaara stood up while he pushed the chair back to give him some room. He walked up towards the girl, and then he properly introduced himself. "Well then, it's nice to meet you. My name is Gaara... Gaara of the Desert. Gaara is spelled as in... self-loving demon"
Apparently, it was good manners to introduce your name with the meaning.
"Gaara of the Desert" was a nickname that people started calling back in his world, and he's taken that moniker ever since. "Gaara of the Desert" was deeply unbalanced, completely unmoved by others' pleas for mercy, and, in certain situations, driven mad with bloodlust.
But "Gaara of the Desert" has changed, and now, he has a chance to redeem that name, by showing people that "Gaara of the Desert" was a wise and kinder soul. Even though people adored and praised him as kazekage. They still remember the time when "Gaara of the Desert" was ruthless.
While he already accepted his past and made amends, he'd still like to do this. It'd make Gaara feel... free of his past, sort of.
The girl gave him a ludicrous look. "What kind of name is Gaara of the Desert?"
Gaara crossed his arms. "It's a nickname."
"No surname?"
"Never had a surname given to me."
The girl stared into Gaara's green eyes. "I'm Mai Sakurajima. Mai as in Mai Sakurajima. Sakurajima as in Mai Sakurajima."
Gaara tilted his head down while he cupped his fingers under his chin. Where has he heard that name before?
An imaginary lightbulb above his head lit up. When he was browsing the web on the computer, he saw a couple of ads pop up with the actor Mai Sakurajima on it. There were also a couple of videos of her acting or whatnot online.
"You're an actor?"
Mai hummed before turning around again. "I'll tell you this once. Forget about what you saw today."
She started walking towards the entrance. Placing her arms behind her back and intertwining her fingers. Not once did anyone notice her or acknowledged her existence while she walked out of the library.
Gaara stared at the front entrance where she was before sighing, that was the strangest thing that's ever happened to him since coming to this world.
It didn't matter. He still had other things to get done today. Like applying for that high school and getting an apartment.
Today would be a long day for sure.
(BREAK)
Chateau Fujisawa, an apartment complex that Gaara had picked to reside in for the time being. The apartment complex wasn't too far from Minegahara High school. Not that it mattered, he could always use the Shunshin no Jutsu to get there faster. But it'd be nice to be nearby just in case.
On the fourth floor was an open-air corridor hallway filled with doors leading to apartment rooms that are either vacant or not. The open, covered corridor hallway is a single-loaded passage with a roof that provided protection from the sun and rain. It also gave people a good view of people like him since he was on the fourth floor.
The corridor was empty until shifting sands started forming in a whirlwind-like manner. The sand started swirling more and heavier before it all dispersed, causing small bits of sand to fall on the floor.
Appearing where the sand had formed was Gaara, who had his right hand formed in a half ram sign while he carried a set of keys in his left hand.
Gaara turned around and checked his surroundings before tilting his head down towards his keys. There was a tag with the keys that told him which room number he's going to live in.
Room 4-2. Gaara lifted his head before looking for the room he was supposed to stay at. He walked over to the door farthest to the left before reading the tag that was next to the door. 4-1 Azusagawa.
Gaara walked over to the next door that was on the right. If the apartment rooms were going in order then this would be his residence.
"Room 4-2," Gaara muttered under his breath. He tossed his keys from his left hand to his right hand before sliding the key into the keyhole. He twisted his wrist to the right and heard an audible clicking noise, signifying that the door has been unlocked. He twisted it back to the center before removing the key and pocketing it in his pockets. Gaara placed his hand on the handle and twisted it down before pushing it with his hand.
Gaara walked inside the room before shutting the door behind him. He placed his sand gourd in front of the door before observing the room.
The apartment was already furnished, meaning that there was already furniture inside the room. The floor was made out of oak wood that was going vertical to the hallway. If you walked a good 3 meters you would see another hallway respectively going to the right. If you went straight you were in a big room.
The room in the front was where his bed was. His bed was in the top corner to the left. It was a single bed but you could probably fit two people if needed. The bottom left corner was where the television was. In the corner was a corner couch that could probably fit around 6 people if needed. There was also a small square table in front of the couch and the television was respectively in front of that as well with a fluffy rug under all of it. To the right of the room was the kitchen. Gaara saw all the necessities he needed. That being the fridge, freezer, oven, stove, etc. In the middle of the room was where people sat when they ate. It was a table with 4 chairs. 2 on one side and 2 on the other. The room wasn't that big but it was big enough to fit a good amount of people. Besides, this was a one-person apartment.
If you went down the hallway to the right you could see a washing machine and a dryer. There was another door to the right that led to the bathroom. The bathroom had blue tiles that were 4 by 4. There was a bathtub to the right of the room with a toilet and sink right next to it.
In all honesty, this apartment room was perfect for someone like him.
Now you're probably asking how someone like him could afford this. Well, the answer the simple. He stole the money.
Gaara pickpocketed a lot of people. Yeah, it wasn't the right thing to do. But what could he do? He had nothing on him. Besides, it was only a one-time thing. He'll get a job, but he needed some cash to get himself back on his feet.
Pickpocketing wasn't hard for Gaara. It was quite easy. But I suppose that's natural since part of his job back when he was a ninja was to kill and steal.
(BREAK)
It was dark out, one hour after midnight to be exact. The pale full moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky, radiating all over Fujisawa. The shimmering stars spread all over the night sky, glistering at every possible spot in the sky. Fujisawa city was dim, but some places were lit up. There would always be that one person who would walk out at this time of the hour. Cars would occasionally pass by him, going left, or right.
After Gaara got situated with his living confinements, he applied for Minegahara High School, which he got in thanks to his genjutsu papers. Then he went to get a job at Benny's which was a family restaurant. Again, he got in easily due to the fact they needed more staff members, and he just did well on his interview.
Anyways, Gaara was situated on his window sill, which was big enough to sit on, peering out the window and observing the city. He didn't have much to do since he couldn't sleep. Insomnia does that to a person.
Regardless, he enjoyed the views at night. So it wasn't all bad.
He hasn't been talking to Shukaku recently, and he's been rather quiet. Which was quite odd in his opinion. Not that he minded, he rather enjoyed the silence.
Gaara took one last look outside his window before he turned his head toward and shut his eyes. He'd wait for the morning to come. Maybe he'd visit Shukaku, he's got plenty of time.
Tomorrow would be interesting.

How did you like it so far? Hope you enjoyed :D
Gaara (我愛羅) is composed of three kanji characters: Ga meaning "me," a or ai meaning "love," and ra meaning "demon."
It's broken down from kanji-to-kanji to mean something of "A demon who loves itself" or "self-loving demon".
Also, Gaara's name (我愛羅) comes from the phrase "我を愛する修羅" (Ware wo aisuru shura) which literally means "a self-loving Shura."
Shura (or Ashura/Asura) is the demigod of war in Buddhism, he's basically a demon who's blinded by rage and obsessed with vengeance and murder. Shura can also mean "carnage" or "mass murder" in Japanese.
Hoping I didn't make any errors or mistakes in this chapter. If I did somehow make any mistakes or errors I'm sorry. ( ._.)
Hopefully, everyone is in character.
