Crabtree couldn't move. He didn't think his injuries were that bad but now it felt like they were a lot worse. Sam could see in his face as they were taken away that it was hurting him. She really wanted to do something but there was a bind around her hands stopping her from doing that. Crabtree could see the worry in her eyes.
"I'm fine Sam." Crabtree whispered to Sam, trying not to attract attention from the gang.
"But you're not. Are you?" Sam shook her head.
"Sam, stop worrying."
"We're stuck in a carriage, no idea who's taken us and you're sitting there telling me not to worry?!"
"Sam!" Crabtree hissed seeing shadows of the gang move.
Sam looked to where the shadows were. Something had interrupted them and by the looks of it, it had been her. She then went quiet as they waited to go wherever they were going. Higgins on the other hand wasn't going to do that.
"Where do you think they're taking us?" Higgins asked.
"No idea." Sam answered quickly so she didn't have to talk for very long.
"I mean why would they take us in the first place? You'd think they would have threatened us first." Higgins continued to comment.
"Henry, stop talking!" Crabtree hissed.
"Why? They're not listening." Higgins hissed back.
Crabtree groaned as he leaned up against the side of the carriage. He was trying to show Higgins to stop talking but it wasn't working. Pendrick was being more quiet than usual. Usually he had a comment on anything the others said. Sam could tell he was keeping his thoughts to himself. Maybe he was taking Crabtree's lead. Maybe he was just thinking of an escape plan. She would have to ask him later.
"Let's just hope the others know where we are." Higgins rolled his eyes, knowing that no one was going to talk to him anymore.
Sam slightly nodded in response. Maybe Higgins was right. Surely the gang would have threatened them before taking them.

Murdoch threw his hat on the ground. He was trying not to undo his stitches but was very mad. Julia walked over to him to try and comfort him. Watts stayed back still wondering how the hospital let Murdoch out so early. Miss James was telling the constabulary that were left what to do. She needed them focused on what went on, not Detective Murdoch at this perficic moment.
"William." Julia hugged her husband's shoulders.
"I should have warned them." Murdoch responded.
"About the note?"
"Yes about the note. I thought it was serious and now I know they were and I didn't tell them."
"Don't blame yourself."
Murdoch stepped away from Julia for a minute. Julia could tell he needed some air. If it was the injury or what had happened, no one was going to interrupt him when he was like this. Well, not if she had anything to do with it.
"Is he alright?" Miss James asked when Julia joined the others.
"The case is getting to him." Julia tried to keep the mood light.
"Maybe I shouldn't have asked him to come."
"You didn't. It was his decision." Julia patted Miss James on the shoulder.
Murdoch looked out into the road. The tracks continued to go on for miles by the looks of it. He called Watts over to him to discuss it further. He knew he couldn't do this alone.
"Those tracks. I want to follow them." Murdoch told Watts.
"Are you sure you're in the right condition to do that?" Watts asked, knowing Murdoch would hate answering that question but asked it anyway.
"My condition? My injury is fine Watts." Murdoch lied.
"Okay. I'll get the team together and then we'll go but I'm taking the lead on this." Watts said.
Murdoch went to say something against this but Watts was already gone before he could. Watts knew Julia was going to be mad at him for taking Murdoch any further rather than back to the hospital, but he also didn't want to go against Murdoch either.
"So we're going back to the hospital then?" Julia got ready to go back.
"About that." Watts rubbed his hands together.
"Watts." Julia put a frown on her face to make Watts embarrassed.
"Detective Murdoch wants to continue to work on the case. He wants to go and see where the gang is." Watts admitted.
"Does he now?!" Julia crossed her arms.
"That's what he said." Watts walked away before it got anymore tense between him and the two Murdochs.
Julia looked over to Murdoch. Everyone wanted to know where Sam, Crabtree, Higgins and Pendrick were but she didn't want Murdoch to put himself at risk. Julia knew he wouldn't want her there either if it got bad. She went back to the carriage for the station. There was then a groan coming from behind her. Murdoch was leaning up against a tree.
"Right, you're coming home with me." Julia went to grab Murdoch's arm.
"Julia!" Murdoch tried to stop her.
"I don't care what you say! You're coming back to the hospital whether you like it or not." Julia used her powerful voice.
Murdoch grabbed Julia's hand off of his.
"Fine. Just let me talk to Watts about what to do next." Murdoch tried to compromise.
"Don't think about running off." Julia compromised, wagging a finger in Murdoch's face.
Murdoch nodded. Secretly he still had an idea of running off in the back of his mind but was he going to tell Julia that? Not a chance! He quickly made his way over to Watts and took him to one side to tell him more about the plan he had in mind.
"Watts, follow those trails. They must lead somewhere." Murdoch pointed to the road.
"Didn't manage to tell Julia you were staying then?!" Watts sniggered slightly.
"Just follow them. I'll check in with you later about it." Murdoch waved this away and re-joined Julia at the carriage making its way back to the hospital.
Watts stared after him. He knew it wouldn't be long before Murdoch joined him once again. He made sure he still had some control over the scene and then took two other officers to follow where the tracks went.
Before he could look too much into these however, Miss Cherry got out of a carriage that had pulled up with the station carriages. Watts saw her walking towards him out of the corner of his eye.
"What are you doing here?" Watts hissed in her direction, still looking at the tracks.
"I heard there had been a crash. Couldn't someone else take this story could I?" Miss Cherry hissed back just as powerful.
"Don't you ever stop?"
"Stop what? Taking a good story that might help you? No I won't."
Watts took Miss Cherry by the arm and took her off the tracks so the officers could have a closer look. Miss Cherry kept writing as he did this. Nothing would stop her writing.
"People are missing, maybe even badly injured. Don't you have any feelings?!" Watts whispered.
"Well now I know what the police think of me. Thanks for telling me!" Miss Cherry said sarcastically.
"Maybe you could actually help us instead of writing everything down."
Miss Cherry stopped writing for a moment. She then looked Watts straight in the eye.
"I'll let you do your job and let me do mine." Miss Cherry warned and walked off before Watts could speak even one letter.
Miss Cherry walked back to her carriage taking in the things around her. Watts put his hand through his hair. What was he going to do with her?!

Murdoch and Julia had sat in silence for most of the journey. Murdoch was still busy thinking of some way of getting out of the journey and Julia was trying to stay awake. Her eyes then batted open.
"William, I know you're planning something." Julia yawned.
William didn't respond. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk to Julia, it's just that he had a lot on his mind right now.
"William, if you don't speak to me, I'm going to post guards outside your door." Julia warned.
"Please don't." Murdoch moaned.
"There we go. Finally come around to talk to me then?"
"I was thinking."
"About the plan to escape and help solve the case? I'm still going to post guards you know."
William scoffed at this. Julia was adamant he wasn't going to go anywhere without her permission. Those guards weren't exactly part of the plan he had been making. He found Julia staring at him and looked up from the ground.
"It would help if you weren't staring at me." Murdoch smiled.
"Watts can do this. Just have more faith in him for once." Julia shrugged, trying to put him at ease.
"I do have faith in him."
"Well maybe tell your face that. I don't think it knows it." Julia shuffled in her seat to get more comfortable.
William could see Julia was just worrying. Sometimes she just went a bit over the top with worry. He remembered the first time Sam went into work. She wouldn't talk to him for a whole week since he let Sam work at the station! She would just have to trust him and the team. Maybe he should just let Watts solve the case. It would make Julia stay in a good mood with him.
"I won't escape. Does that make it better?" Murdoch smiled trying to get Julia to smile back.
"I know you don't mean that." Julia responded with a deep sigh.
"At least I tried." Murdoch thought to himself.
Julia let out a little sob. Murdoch tried to take her hand to comfort her but she just moved it away. Murdoch felt a little tug at his wound when he had moved. Just a little bit longer in the hospital. Then he would get back straight back to the case. Sam needed him. Maybe even Watts did. Even though neither of them would admit it out loud.
