Ruth had gone home to try and calm down before the others were back. Julia sat down in the seat nearest the door so she could watch it. Miss James stood nearby watching Julia. She tapped her fingers on her elbow trying to keep herself occupied. The room had been silent since Ruth had left which was kind of a good thing.
"How long do you think they'll be?" Miss James broke the silence.
"I don't know." Julia answered quickly.
It was clear to Miss James that Julia didn't want to talk to her or anyone right now. She didn't have to wait long to find out if she wasn't going to talk anymore. Miss Cherry came storming through the door of the station nearly sending Julia flying.
"Well do come in Miss Cherry!" Miss James muttered.
"I just wanted to see how the case was going. Where is everyone?" Miss Cherry looked around seeing that none of the detectives were there.
"Why do you need to know? You're not exactly involved with the case or anything." Miss James asked.
"I'm not but I am the one who's dealing with the case with the press."
"You?!"
"Yeah why not?"
"Because you have no experience and you've annoyed everyone in this room." Julia muttered just loud enough to hear.
Miss Cherry sighed as she heard this. It was like the others didn't want her around anywhere! Why she couldn't fathom it. Julia's eyes hadn't moved off of the door even if Miss Cherry had just burst it wide open.
"So none of you can help with the case then?" Miss Cherry said, almost laughing.
Miss James quickly stepped in before Julia punched Miss Cherry's lights out! She quickly got Miss Cherry out of the door and back on her way. Julia thanked her by patting her on the back.
"Thank you." Julia mouthed.
"Don't worry about it. The last thing we need right now is the press getting involved." Miss James smirked.
"We should be glad Ruth wasn't here!" Julia rolled her eyes.
"You're right about that." Miss James sat back down behind a desk right in front of the blackboard.
There must be something they're missing. They might not be exactly on the case with the others right now but they were sure any help right now would sorely be needed.

The radio suddenly crackled. The water didn't move at least, but the others were still a little worried why the radio had suddenly come on. Sam looked at Crabtree and he looked back. Even if they were on the other side of that door, a person wielding an axe wasn't exactly trustworthy.
"What do they want now?!" Myers said, tutting at the radio.
"Myers don't unless you want to be on the other side of that door." Higgins mentioned pointing towards the door.
The radio then crackled off again. Everyone looked very surprised at this, especially as the women who had taken them normally had a lot to say.
"Well that was quick!" Higgins sounded relieved.
"Don't be too sure about that Henry. I'm sure they'll be back with more things to throw at us." Crabtree shook his head.
"If we don't drown first!" Myers scoffed looking down at the scene below them.
"You're really not helping you know!" Pendrick spoke up, somewhat shivering.
"What? Scared of a little water?!" Myers continued.
"No! I just don't want to drown right now."
"Guys please don't fight. I don't want to chuck you off the table because you'll annoy me too much!" Sam warned.
Pendrick and Myers went quiet.
"Thank you. Now let's all just wait. Either the radio will turn on or we'll get closer to the ground." Sam summed up.
"How'd you figure that out?" Myers questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Well either someone has come to rescue us or they've had second thoughts of what they're going to say to us." Sam shrugged.
"Let's hope it's the first one." Higgins nodded.

The door swung open quickly as Murdoch kicked it. Watts was behind him with Brackenreid bringing up the rear just in case the gang tried to exit. When the door opened, there was a bright light which soon calmed. There was no one in there, to Watts' relief. Murdoch motioned to Brakenreid to put the gun down. He didn't exactly want to be shot a second time. Especially not by the inspector.
"Where did they go? I mean everyone heard voices right? Wasn't just me?" Watts made sure.
"No it wasn't just you." Murdoch said.
"Any other exits?" Watts continued to ask all of the questions.
"Not that I can see." Brakenreid shook his head.
Murdoch started to take in the room. It was quite small considering how many voices they had heard. There was a little radio and microphone at the far side of the room. Murdoch walked towards it.
"What is it Murdoch?" Brackenreid asked.
"There is some sort of microphone. It might connect to wherever they're keeping the others." Murdoch hoped he was right.
"Anything else? Any connection as to who might be behind this?"
Murdoch was going to answer the inspector further, when he saw blood just below the radio. There wasn't much but enough to cause some serious injury.
"Is that blood?" Watts said from behind him. That was the only problem about Watts. He seemed to just sneak up on people.
"Yeah. Whatever happened to the person on the other end, they could be badly injured." Murdoch stood back up again propping himself against the table.
"Murdoch, we can deal with this. Go back to the carriage." Brackenreid sighed.
"I'm fine sir as I keep telling you." Murdoch said, leaning against the microphone.

"Murdoch, I don't want you to injure yourself further." The inspector's voice came through the radio.
"What on earth?" Pendrick said, muffled.
"Sir I'm staying and that's that." Murdoch's voice continued to sound through the radio.
"What's the detective doing here?" Higgins asked, puzzled looking over to Sam.
Sam shrugged trying to figure it out herself. Her father was supposed to be in the hospital. Why on earth was he out here?

"Come on, we'd better find the others before anything else happens." Watts broke up the two warring officers.
Murdoch walked towards the door. Watts was about to follow when he saw a button. It was a red one and he knew how many times people had told him not to push a red button, but he couldn't resist. He pushed it and nothing happened. He shrugged, and then followed Murdoch out of the room.

The water then started to move. Lucky for the people in the room it went down. Everyone gave a sigh of relief when this happened and Sam went to hug Crabtree. She thought better of it however, and just smiled at everyone.
"Thank goodness for that! What made them do that?" Higgins asked, stretching his legs out.
"I don't think it was our captors." Sam nodded towards the radio.
"Let's hope Detective Murdoch finds us soon then." Myers folded his arms.
"He will do." Sam butted in.
Myers unfolded his arms with Crabtree and Higgins folding theirs. Sam tried not to look too smug when they did this. It was nice to know they were still on her side after all of this! Suddenly the door opened. A woman about a few inches taller than Sam came through the door.
"I guess you must be Samantha Murdoch." The woman said in a girl-like voice.
The door remained quiet. No one wanted to answer her and Crabtree and Higgins were still shocked about the person in front of them.
"No answer huh? Well I guess we'd better find out for ourselves." The woman came into the light.
Crabtree shuffled where he sat. It was the person he and Higgins thought it was. He just wished this was all a dream.
"Hello Constable Crabtree, Constable Higgins." The woman nodded.
"Miss." Higgins spoke, shaking.
The woman walked up to Sam almost getting close enough that Sam could see up her nose. Sam bent backwards trying not to get too close.
"Well aren't you just a ringer for your father." The woman giggled.
"What do you want?" Myers muttered for Sam, seeing her a little scared to answer anybody.
"Oh just one thing." The woman smiled too creepily for words.
The woman suddenly grabbed Sam's arm and pulled her out of the room. She has a gun in the other hand warning the others not to go too close. Sam tried to fight her but she was surprisingly strong. The others watched on helplessly. The door then slammed behind them.
"Oh good God." Pendrick wiped his chin.
The door then began to rattle. The door knob moved with every sound it made. The others crowded each other just in case they needed anyone else.
"What do they want now?" Crabtree begged.
"George is that you?" Brackenreid's voice boomed through the door.
"Yes sir. Please help us." Higgins spoke before Crabtree could answer, he was probably the most anxious to get out.
There was shuffling behind the door.
"Stand back!" Brackenreid shouted.
The door crashed open with Brackrend, Murdoch, Watts and the constable standing on the other side. Murdoch smiles the brightest when he sees Higgins and Crabtree. He nodded at Pendrick but didn't show any attention towards Myers but he soon noticed someone was missing.
"Where's Sam?" Murdoch asked concerned.
Before anyone could answer, the radio crackled again. The kidnapped group was relieved the water hadn't come back.
"Well hello Detective Murdoch." The radio boomed, making everyone covering their ears.
"Well that's new!" Crabtree said sarcastically.
"As you have now discovered, your daughter has been taken again! Now it's up to you to come and find her." The voice sounded almost like a song.
"They're trying to get to you Murdoch." Watts warned seeing the look on Murdoch's face.
Murdoch did take this in but no one was going to stop him from getting his daughter. Before anyone could utter another word, Murdoch was running out of the door. Crabtree followed him just to make sure everything went alright and in their hands.
"Do we follow them?" Higgins tried to go.
"We need you to get checked over. I'm sure Crabtree can handle Murdoch." Brackenreid told the group looking mostly at Myers and the dried blood in his hair.
"Okay. I'll follow them from afar. Just in case." Watts calmed Higgins down.
Brackenreid knew he wasn't going to stop Watts from doing this, so just nodded. Watts followed the group to make sure they got out and then tried to get to where Murdoch and Crabtree had gone.
