Pendrick was the first one to raise his hands as Myers continued to point his gun at him. The others looked concerned as this continued with Julia stepping back so that she wasn't also in the crossfire. No other sounds had come from the buildings, this wasn't a good sign.

"What the bloody hell are you doing, Myers?" Brackenreid was the first to speak.

"Rose wants me to bring you all in. She said it's dangerous to have any witnesses." Myers sounded like a robot, even more usual.

"And you're listening to that?!" Julia tutted.

"You don't understand." Myers shook his head.

"No we don't and I don't think we'll ever do." Julia continued to mutter, much to Pendrick's worry.

"Just get inside." Myers hissed mainly to Pendrick.

Pendrick however, stayed where he was. He didn't move one inch! Julia did the same. Brackenreid, if a little shocked, looked over to Julia for guidance. Miss James shook from head to toe as she watched the scene in front of her evolve. Ruth and Henry had all but disappeared. Probably stuck in the carriage or something.

"Why won't you listen to me?!" Myers shouted at the group in front of him.

"Because you're not in charge. Now give me that gun and let's put an end to this." Pendrick warned.

Myers took a step forward. The gun barrel was now aimed at Pendrick's chest. Pendrick could feel the barrel poking him. He nodded to Julia and walked slowly backwards the others in tow.

"So this was the plan all along? Betray us and run away with those women?" Julia asked, trying to keep Myers mind off of things.

"Not entirely. The case was solved and they wouldn't leave my team alone until I had brought you in and crossed the border with them." Myers told.

"And what about Murdoch? Was he part of the plan too?" Pendrick spoke up for the detective.

"That happened before I arrived." Myers shook the accusation off.

Another bang went off from the building. Myers didn't seem to care, keeping Pendrick moving. The others stopped where they were trying to figure out what was going on.

"Ruthie, I've got to help them somehow!" Higgins protested being held back by Ruth.

Ruth had quickly taken Higgins into the carriage when the first gunshot went off. She wasn't going to move again until she thought it was safe. Either that or one of the others came and told her. She kept a tight hold of Higgins to make sure he didn't go out there before she said so.

"Don't go! I've only just got you back." Ruth pleaded.

"Ruth, I need to help them. What if they get into more trouble?" Higgins tried wrestling with his wife.

"Then they can deal with it." Ruth made her hold tighter and tighter so there was no escape.

Higgins looked out of the window again. No one was out there, they must have turned a corner or went inside. It didn't seem like Myers knew where he was going. He just kept trying to think of some reason why Myers would betray them like this. He was on their side. They might not like Myers very much but they thought they had some sort of relationship and trust with each other. True who could ever trust a spy!

"Hold on. There's someone out there." Higgins reached for the carriage door.

"Don't let them in! They could put us in danger." Ruth shook her head defiantly trying to stop him.

Too late however, Higgins had opened the door and was waving over to the person to let them in. Miss James appeared at the door of the carriage, out of breath.

"Thank goodness I found you." Miss James panted moving Ruth's leg so she could get in.

"How did you get away?" Higgins said ducking down.

"I was at the back. I slipped away without Myers seeing."

"Where did they go?"

"Inside somewhere. I think Myers is trying to find the women and let them out." Miss James started to bite her nails.

"At least we're safe here." Ruth smiled.

Higgins rolled his eyes at Ruth's response. This was why he never brought his work home! It just made Ruth too emotional.

Pendrick entered the building backwards. Myers was still egging him on to go further. The others had disappeared so Pendrick just hoped Myers wouldn't see it. He also hoped that Crabtree, Watts and Murdoch had had a breakthrough somewhere down the line.

"So you'll give up all this, just so you could get your team back?" Pendrick kept the conversation going.

"Wouldn't you? I mean you came out here to help Detective Murdoch." Myers fought back.

"Because he's my friend and so is Sam."

"I wonder if they think the same thing. I know the inspector certainly doesn't."

"We don't get along well, yes but I'm not here for him." Pendrick gulped.

Myers didn't continue the conversation and went silent. Talking about the station house officers obviously touched a nerve. Pendrick was getting somewhere.

Brackenreid made sure no one was around, especially Myers. Julia stayed back so he could have a look. She had noticed that Miss James had gone back to the carriage.

"We shouldn't be split up. We should be getting back to the carriage." Brackenreid took Julia's arm.

"What about James?" Julia kept still.

"He can deal with Myers. He's stronger then he looks." Brackenreid reassured Julia.

Julia looked back one more time before following Brackenreid back to the carriage to come up with a plan. Maybe he was right. If they just went in there, the two of them, they didn't stand as much of a chance as they did if the others would back them up.

"It's the inspector and Doctor Ogden." Miss James squealed as she opened the carriage door for them.

Ruth wanted to protest but let her do it. Brackenreid and Julia clambered into the now quite full carriage. It was a bit of a squeeze but if they were going to come up with a plan, then it would have to do.

"Myers has still got Pendrick." Julia told.

"So what are we going to do?" Higgins asked.

"I'm not going anywhere! I've had enough worry for one day so that's that." Ruth huffed.

"You don't need to Miss Newsome." Brackenreid muttered something else under his breath.

Higgins usually would have said something about this but he couldn't agree more this time. Ruth would just have to grin and bear it until he got back.

"So we need a plan before just barging in there." Julia got the team back to focus.

"Any ideas?" Higgins ignored Ruth's whispers.

The group looked at each other. None of them were exactly plan makers as they left that mainly to Murdoch.

"You haven't got any guns then?" Brackenreid was the one to break the silence.

"Didn't think we needed them. Thought you'd all come out in one piece." Miss James shook her head.

"So that's out then." Higgins sighed.

"I've got it!" Ruth shouted but quickly covered her mouth before anyone else heard her.

The group looked at each other again. Ruth Newsome wasn't exactly the person you would go for ideas. I mean they meant no offence but they didn't usually listen to her.

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Myers stopped walking along the corridor. He pushed Pendrick to do the same. Pendrick stopped right in front of him. He had no idea what was happening next.

"Wait here." Myers hissed at Pendrick.

Pendrick didn't respond as Myers opened a door and went through it. He didn't know how long Myers was going to be but knew if he left now, then he would be in big trouble. The door then opened again and Myers looked more angry than ever.

"They're not there! I told them to meet me here." Myers muttered.

"Well criminals do like to change their mind." Pendrick smiled to himself.

"Do I have to remind you about your wife's criminal past?"

"Don't go there!"

"Then don't challenge me." Myers warned Pendrick.

Myers then got Pendrick to move on so they could find the women again. Pendrick sighed as they heard voices coming from another room. Pendrick couldn't work them out but knew he might also be going to the border with Myers and the women.

"Come on. There's some people I would like you to meet." Myers said, making Pendrick go through the door first.

The door opened and the voices stopped. The room was empty. The women probably didn't know who it was until Myers spoke so Pendrick would have to be careful.

"You can come out. It's me." Myers called with a creepy smile on his face.

No response.

"I said it's me. Come on, we've got to get to the border!" Myers shouted out.

Still no response. Pendrick still didn't let his guard down but knew he might be a bit safer in here then just with Myers.

"Looks like there's no one home." Pendrick sighed happily.

"Shut up!" Myers snapped.

Myers was obviously getting to the end of his tether. True so was Pendrick. He just wanted to be out of here. Where was Sam and Murdoch? They must be around here somewhere.

"Right, we'd better go to the border. At least I have someone to take to the border with me." Myers pointed the gun once again at Pendrick.

"I don't think so!"
