Chapters are going to be about 2 to 3k words from now on. The 4K words per chapter is getting unrealistic at this point in the story. There's no name for this chapter because I can't think of one. I'm just using Google translate for the German which is pretty annoying. There won't be any subtitles on most of the words because they aren't to important. The more important conversation will have them. Hope ye enjoy.
Marshall moaned as he felt his leg with his eyes closed. The loud chattering of people can be heard in the very close by. He relived the crash causing him to scare himself awake. His eyes were wide and he took fast breaths. "Where am I?!?" He exclaimed as he stood up. He felt a shock of pain run up his leg and moaned in pain.
He calmed down as there seemed to be no apparent danger. He felt the loose and unstable walls. "Is this a...tipi?" He mumbled as he felt the leather walls. The stitching was very nice and clean. He walks outside to see people dancing and singing around a fire. "Hello?" Marshall exclaimed.
They all stopped. "hallo, du bist aus dem flugzeug gefallen, richtig?" A big husky man said, he wasn't wearing any pants or shirt but instead he had a man skirt.
Marshall raised an eyebrow. "Middle of Germany..." he mumbled. "Is...this Ger Man eee!" Marshall annunciated. The husky man nodded. Marshall felt as if he was gonna faint. "There are tw-
Commotion can be heard. "der andere ist wach"
The husky man motioned Marshall to follow. He willingly did hoping they wouldn't eat him. When they walked into the next tent he saw Chase and Rocky. Rocky was still unconscious but Chase was up barking, hyperventilating, and nervously moving back and forth.
Marshall walked in and dragged Chase outside. Chase let out a huge gasp. "Marshall!" Chase exclaimed as he hugged him. Marshall gave him a hug back.
Chase looked around the small establishment of tipi's. "What the fu-
"They don't speak our English." Marshall informed.
Chase looked to the group of people staring at them. "Do you know where we are?" Chase mumbled as he carefully felt his face. He hesitantly put pressure of his snout. "Ow!" He whined.
Marshall took a closer look. "I think we're in Germany, everything seems...foggy. I just remember the crash. Do you think the others are okay?" Marshall asked.
Chase huffed. He didn't have an answer for everything Marshall just said. "I can't believe this is happening..." Chase mumbled
A small child walked up to Chase and Marshall. Marshall could see her mother hesitantly reach out for her. "geht es euch beiden gut" the small child said.
"I'm sorry but I don't speak your lang-
"erstmal ja" Chase replied with a bright smile.
Marshall dropped his mouth. "They speak German?"
Chase nodded. "Luckily...they could've spoke a made up language."
Marshall was relived someone could communicate with them. Marshall and Chase walked back to Rocky's tipi where he peacefully slept. Marshall looked at the very bad bandaging around his head. He didn't change it since it was good enough to satisfy Rocky.
He turned to Chase who was in deep thought. "Chase?"
Chase dropped his head. "Marshall..." Chase solemnly said.
Marshall leaned in. "What?"
Chase turned to him. "It was a setup. That thing you mentioned with Luna and Linus having a connection wasn't just true. It was true with everyone on that plane. It was supposed to Crash. They already have a replacement for me, you, and Rocky." Chase explained with water in his eyes.
Marshall shook his head. "No no no, that can't be true! This is just a misunderstanding." Marshall denied.
Chase didn't say anything. He just nodded. "That's why Luna didn't want Ryder to go. He could've stopped them." He added.
Rocky mumbled for a bit. Chase and Marshall watch as Rocky gets up the same way Marshall did. Rocky spotted the two and calmed down. "Rocky! Don't panic but we're in a German village." Marshall said.
Rocky slowly nods as he follows Chase and Marshall out. "wie lange sind wir schon weg?" Chase asked
"15 Tage nach der Apokalypse" the husky man said.
Rocky's eyes widened. "I don't speak German but that sounded like APOCALYPSE! And GERMANS DONT HAVE VILLAGES!" Rocky exclaimed.
Chase waved his paw at Rocky to quiet him down. "was meinst du mit apokalypse?" Chase asked.
The husky man shivered at the thought. (The day after your crash, we found you in terrible condition. We took you in and a traveler came by to spread the word that entire governments were overthrown immediately. The people came to power and it turned out that generic people cannot run a government so easily, so crime and lawlessness were quickly favored. Soon they started stabbing each other with the back. Who knows how many people died.)"
Chase felt his legs wobble. He sat down not knowing if he could take the bad news any longer. "There's nothing left of the world. No government..." Chase mumbled to Rocky and Marshall. "What?"
"It's all gone." Chase said. "In two weeks just like that the world falls apart."
Loud bells could be heard from the trees. Marshall and Rocky were confused at the vague details Chase was giving.
Marshall was staring at where the bell noises are coming from while Rocky watched the men of the tribe run into the tipis.
They quickly run back out with loaded guns. "What the..." Rocky mumbled. He had a hard time believing these were villagers.
"I'm friendly! I'm friendly!" The voice called out.
Rocky and Marshall panicked. "Chase! Tell them!" Rocky says as he shakes the Shepherd from his thoughts. He quickly stood up. "er behauptet, er sei freundlich!" Chase called out.
The men still held up their guns but won't shoot on sight. A pack of 6 dogs break through the brush. Each one had a harness on it. About half of the harnesses were empty. "Hello!" The man waves.
"They speak German." Marshall said breaking the news to him.
The mans facial expression died into confusion. He had long scuffled hair and a braided beard. He wore blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt along with his miscellaneous collection of dogs. "Atleast you three speak English." He huffed.
Chase raised a brow. "What brings you out here?"
The man sniffled and sighed. "Since the end of the world happened and is still in its ending phase...half of my dogs were taken. I'm on a mission to get them back."
Marshall noticed Rocky's eye grow. He saw an opportunity and took it. "Where are you heading?" He asked.
"Bruges Belgium, should take us a week to get there." The man replied.
Rocky looked to Chase and Marshall. "What?" Marshall asked.
Rocky opened his mouth but was cutoff. "We aren't going anywhere. We are on a different continent. There's no way we can get back to America." Chase ordered.
Marshall was lost. "Chase, what's our purpose? We had a goal and it was to protect people. Now we're just...gonna accept this sad reality?" Rocky argued.
Chase glared at Rocky. "I don't want to risk losing you, we don't even know this guy and you wanna hitch a ride." Chase said with some annoyance in his voice.
Rocky could've gone on forever but Marshall stepped in. "Stop stop! Chase...you need to understand where Rocky is coming from. Even if there is a chance! For us to even touch the America's again I think we should take it." Marshall said sympathizing with the Mix Breed.
Chase as Marshall basically twisted Chase's paw into agreeing. They would probably leave with or without Chase. "Fine...if we find out something we shouldn't have found out don't cry to me." Chase unhappily agreed.
Marshall and Rocky looked to the sled leader. "Do you mind if we can hitch a ride?" Marshall asked.
The man sighed and rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry but you would be dead weight." He explained as he got ready to leave.
Chase stepped up. "We can provide all kinds of services. Protection, smarts, medical aid and assist you with your journey to help your dogs. I'm a detective after all." Chase offered.
The man strung his fingers through his beard. "Let me stay the night here and you can go." He offered.
Chase looked to the village men who still nervously watched. The woman and children were gone probably inside their tipis.
Chase puffed out his chest and looked to the husky man with an Ak without a stock. "wie heißt ihr leute? (What are you called?)
"Das Singapore."
"Singapore? Like the country?" Chase asked.
They looked around to each other for answers. "was ist ein Singapore."
Chase closed his eyes and recalled as much of the German he knows as possible. "Ich brauche einen Gefallen von dir, bitte lass diesen netten Mann bleiben. Ich habe eine Familie, die wissen muss, dass wir drei gesund und munter sind. Dieser Mann kann helfen, dorthin zu gelangen. Verstehst du richtig? du würdest alles für deine familie tun. (I need a favor from you, please let this nice man stay. I have a family that needs to know the three of us are safe and sound. This man can help us get there. I'm sure you understand, you would do anything for your family)
The men huddled up. "They...can...stay!" A skinnier man hesitantly said.
Chase, Marshall and Rocky looked at each other with excitement. Marshall and Rocky put their paws together flat on the floor. "What are you doing?" Chase asked.
"Putting our paws in. Like team huddle." Rocky explained with an eye roll. "Can't believe you don't know what a team huddle is."
Chase let him have his fun and put his paw in. "I don't want you two trying anything to active. Neither of you are in a good position." Chase ordered.
Marshall and Rocky instantly nodded. "I know we're in a bad spot but I'm glad they tried to kill us three. If I was out here with anyone else I would've lost my mind." Rocky said with pure honesty. Chase nodded and Marshall gave him a hug.
Chase had one last question courtesy of Rocky. " Wie sind Sie hier gelandet?(How did you end up here?)"
The husky man took a step closer. "Wir kommen alle aus der gleichen Nachbarschaft. Als alles unterging, bot ein amerikanischer Ureinwohner an, beim Überleben außerhalb des Netzes zu helfen. Er hat uns all das gezeigt und wie man es macht. (We're all from the same neighborhood. When everything went down a Native American offered to help up survive off the grid. He showed us all of this stuff and how to do it.)"
Everyones attention went back to the sled team. The tribes people quickly welcomed the man and his pack of dogs. The assumed alpha of the bunch was a huge dog with massive paws and sharp teeth. Marshall and Rocky gulp as he trots over to them. "Pretty neat that you speak German." He complimented.
"Thank you. You're quite the stud." Chase complimented back looking at the much larger dog.
"I'm a wolf dog. I'll keep it a secret between me and you but I know where you three are from. Adventure Bay seemed pretty devastated. Turns out some Alaskans follow this husky that's in the paw patrol. Names Balto no need to say yours." He said holding out his paw.
Rocky couldn't help but feel nervous. Their little conversation brought no closure. "You won't eat us will you?" Rocky weakly said.
"I doubt I could, a 3 against one when you guys are highly trained seems pretty unfair if you ask me." Balto joked easing the Mix Breeds feelings.
Balto chuckled. "I guess we're both just trying to get to our families. My wife and kid were taken with my friends. I don't plan on fighting. That's not my thing but how do you plan on getting across the ocean?" He asked.
Rocky opened his mouth but nothing came out. Marshall stepped in for him. "We'll make it up as we go. We need to get into barkingburg first." Marshall said.
"Ah, Britain isn't doing so hot. No guns just swords and knives. Yawwwwwwn I'm gonna hit the hay. See you next mornin."
Chase, Rocky and Marshall stood in their spot. "How long do you think it'll take us to get back to California?" Marshall mumbled.
"Years." Rocky replied. Chase couldn't help but agree. "If there is a place that's still standing it's the queen. Her supporters devoted their life to her and there's nobody in power but her." Rocky explained.
Char and Marshall didn't reply. They could only hope Rocky was right. The husky man who seemed to be the tribe leader lead them to a tipi. There were 3 beds and their gear. "Goodnight." Chase mumbled.
Marshall and and Rocky froze. They have never heard the Shepherd say goodnight. They replied with a goodnight and caught some Z's.
That's chapter 10 for ya. It's pretty messy because I won't be able to upload for the next three days.
