*ALRIGHT NEW CHAP AGAIN HOPE YOU ENJOY*
"That's definitely a reason to panic," Luke said as his eyes widened and the beast turned its gaze towards him and Daniel. "WELP, TIME TO BOOK IT! DANIEL!"
"YOU DON'T GOTTA TELL ME TWICE!"
The two men dashed back towards the other group immediately and it felt like the beast followed them almost instantaneously.
"Guys, SPLIT UP! WE GOT A SACRIFICE TANK ON THE LOOSE!" Luke pulled out both of his SMG's and started pouring bullets into the Tank, Daniel did the same thing.
"I'm going out back of the building!" Shouted Daniel while preparing to start running, until the Tank turned to him and started chasing him.
"Should NOT have said that..."
He turned and started running faster than an antelope getting attacked by a cheetah.
"SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID THAT!"
Luke started to run up, but before he did, he turned to the rest of the survivors. "Everyone, the train heading to Osijek, Croatia is just up ahead. I want everyone on that train IMMEDIATELY! We are not debating about this! GO!"
Everyone obviously hesitated for a second.
"Did I not make myself clear?! GO. RIGHT. NOW. Will, you're in charge. Get them on that train! Make sure to check if the train's functioning properly!"
Will pulled out his gun and saluted.
"Yes, sir! Jose, Aiko, on me!"
Luke quickly started running to the Tank's location.
Eventually, the three survivors started sprinting towards the train, and after a few seconds, they made it on board. Will started immediately bolting towards the train's control room.
Meanwhile...
Daniel was still getting chased by the Tank, eventually running into, what looked like, a dead end. It looked like a chain-link fence. Luckily, there were a few dumpsters and trash containers there, so Daniel could jump out over the edge of the fence.
"Welp, at least I warmed up this morning," Daniel muttered to himself as he jumped on the first container and immediately jumping on the second container, which managed to lead him over the chain-link fence. He managed to land gracefully, pulling off a roll whilst landing. However, due to his previous encounters with the Sacrifice Tanks, he started running as soon as he was back up on his feet because, not even two seconds later, the Tank burst through the fence, instantly destroying it, but it took a moment to rest before it started sprinting towards Daniel again.
Luke wasn't too far behind them, and he noticed this, too. He took a good look at the Tank's back and arms and noticed the Tank looked more bruised up and battered than usual. It even had some scars and bruises all over its body which made Luke's eyes widened. He realised something.
He stuck two of his fingers into his mouth and whistled as loud as he could. It almost sounded like a train arriving at the station.
The Tank, and Daniel, turned their attention to Luke and the Tank prepared to charge at him. Luke poured his reloaded guns' clips into the Tank which did look like it took effect. He quickly rolled to the side to avoid the charge and the Tank crashed into a few dumpsters and trash bags.
"DANIEL! He's already damaged! If you noticed, he is much slower than a healthy Sacrifice Tank. Pour your clips into him, he shouldn't be that far from dying!" Daniel sprinted back towards Luka in seconds and prepared his shotgun.
"Alright, LET HIM HAVE IT!"
Both of the survivors unloaded their full clips into the Tank, and to their surprise, he fell to his knees.
"He's not fully dead yet, so just keep shooting him!" Luke said as he put his SMG's away and unsheathed both of his katanas.
He flung himself at the Tank, instantly getting behind him, and he started to slash away gracefully, without a wasted breath or going overboard. He managed to dodge some slow hits from the Tank, whilst still attacking him constantly. He took both of his blades and slashed across his face and his chest with two huge swings. The Tank yelped out its last ferocious growl...and collapsed to the floor, dead.
Luke took lots of deep breathes, and so did Daniel.
"You think we would have been fucked if we didn't go parkouring this morning?" Luke asked with a chuckle.
"It actually did help quite a bit, I must admit." Daniel laughed too.
Luke picked up his walkie-talkie.
"Will, how we looking with the train?"
"It seems to be in working condition, we just need you here on it. How's the Tank situation?"
"Well..." Luke said as he spat next to the Tank's body. "He's taken care of. We are on our way now. Sit tight."
Luke hung up and both he and Daniel started walking towards the train. Daniel stopped by the Tank's body for a second, but he continued walking after looking at the Tank's right shoulder.
...
"The Tank was damaged?" Jose questionably asked.
"When we initially saw the container he was in, it was properly chained up and everything. They must have either found him here or they brought him here somehow. It looked like it was tortured." Luke answered while sitting down on one of the seats.
"Tortured?" Aiko repeated with a concerned tone.
"He had burn marks, bruises and scars all across his back and his chest. It leads me to believe he was tortured, and then he turned into a Sacrifice Tank. Maybe the Russians had something to do with this...I have no idea, honestly."
"I did notice a German military tattoo on his right shoulder. He must have either served before, he was very supportive or he had something to do with the military. Overall, maybe we shouldn't poke our nose in business we don't understand." Daniel replied whilst leaning against the wall.
"It does raise a question, though, doesn't it? What were those Russians doing with a locked up Sacrifice Tank?" Will brought up a good point.
Everyone stood silent for a few moments.
"It's scary to think about, but that's the last thing I want corrupting your minds. Tonight, we celebrate victory once again with a much-deserved rest. Everyone, it's getting late, you can all head to bed. It'll take us a few days to get to Croatia, so sit tight. Will, I'll join you in the control room."
Luke patted Daniel and Jose on the shoulders and winked at Aiko before leaving the room. Will quickly followed.
...
"You think this train will get us to Osijek?" Luke asked Will in a serious tone.
"For sure. I checked all the gauges and all the necessary parameters. We should have a pretty smooth ride. Plus, it has autopilot." Will smirked and pointed at the autopilot feature.
"Germans, always being a step ahead of most European countries," Luke replied with a grin.
"You said it. They are pretty advanced..." Will responded. "Any reason you sounded so serious a moment ago?"
"Well...it is my hometown, and I am kind of hoping to find some answers to a lot of questions I've had on my mind for years now. If not now, then when, right?" Luke sat down and took a breath in the middle of his sentences.
"I'm sure when the time comes, you'll be prepared to tell us all about it, comrade," Will said as he offered Luke a hand which Luke gladly shook.
"Yeah..." Luke hesitated to find words for a moment. "I definitely will be able to."
...
"Don't get too caught up in staying awake. I'm tuckered out. See you in the morning, Sarge." Luke patted Will on the back.
"Sleep tight, friend, you deserve it." Will put up a friendly hand gesture.
Luke waved and shut the door to the control room.
