*One of the last few chapters.

Hope you enjoy it! Thank you for sticking with me!*

It was morning. A fresh new day has awoken our survivors and everyone staying at the hospital. Daniel was climbing up the stairs that led to the rooftop of the hospital, grasping a cup of coffee in one of his hands. About halfway through climbing up the steps, he encountered a dead infected laying on the floor. He stopped for a brief moment to check if it was alive. Thankfully, it wasn't. It looked like it was stabbed. It was too early for fighting, anyway. He made it to the rooftop door, opened it and stepped out into the fresh air.

Luke could already be seen standing near the edge of the roof.

"How did I know you'd be here?" Daniel asked whilst chuckling.

"How wouldn't you? Someone had to deal with that infected." Luke turned towards Daniel for a second but turned back after a brief moment.

Daniel walked up to him.

"This is it, huh? Your hometown. This view is pretty good." Daniel took a sip of his coffee.

"It's still the same old shithole it always was, literally nothing has changed."

They both looked out into the distance of the town. At least it had a beautiful view.

"Kinda does look like a shithole." Both men laughed.

...

"Alright, I've been thinking about the escape plan. My mother is gonna turn into a Witch within the next week and a half, approximately."

Daniel turned his attention towards Luke.

"What would you suggest, though? A helicopter escape, some kind of vehicle escape?" Daniel looked up into the sky whilst suggesting ideas.

"An armoured truck escape. There's bound to be several vehicles in the garage of this place. There should be plenty of supplies around, this place is massive. It's more like a military base than a hospital compound." Luke said as he pointed his head in the other direction of their view.

"Well, I have seen several buildings behind this main one. I'm assuming those will be overtaken by infected, considering the top floors of this one are overtaken, as well as some of the bottom floors. Looks like we're gonna have to spend some time cleaning this place out." Daniel suggested as he took another sip of his coffee.

"Yeah, if we're gonna go down that path, we have to clean this place out quickly. If we take the buildings back, we should have plenty of supplies to armour some trucks and drive ourselves out of here." Luke said as he walked towards his jacket that he left on top of a nearby vent.

"Alright, let's do it!" Daniel shouted with encouragement.

"Right!" Luke shouted back.

...

Meanwhile, on the 3rd floor, Aiko started to wake up.

Jose and Will seemed to be up already.

"Luke did tell us about a plan, right? I mean, all the doctor told us last night was that they were making slow progress on the garage downstairs. Some help he turned out to be." Jose scoffed as he asked Will about the situation.

"I have no doubts that Luke will inform us of the actual plan soon enough. Both he and Daniel are probably talking about it right now. In the meantime, maybe we could ask the doctor about the garage situation and what kind of 'progress' they're making. Well...not making." Will said as he got up from his chair, along with Jose.

They managed to find that exact doctor from yesterday.

"Doctor, we were hoping of learning about this progress you mentioned yesterday. Something involving the garage?" Will questioned the doctor.

"Well, I'd like to reveal the information when all of you are awake and here. I'll definitely let you know, as we need it sorted as soon as possible if we even wanna think about an evacuation." The doctor said in a depressed tone.

Jose and Will looked at each other in concern, thanked the doctor and made their way back to their room.

After half an hour or so, Luke and Daniel showed up at the room the group was staying in.

"Yo!" Daniel gestured his hand to indicate that the group should follow him as he opened the door.

"We're about to talk about evacuation plans, good to see you all awake. Up to it!" Luke shouted behind Dan and both men started walking towards the main hallway.

A few other doctors, our main doctor, the nurse that got our group to the hospital and the survivors themselves gathered around.

"Good, we're all here. Right. Most of us have a general consensus of what we should do. Armour up a few vehicles and drive out of here all the way to Belarus."

Everyone silently agreed, either by nodding or confirmation gestures.

"However, apparently, there's a problem." Luke turned his face towards the doctor. "Doc, if you'd be willing to explain, we're all curious to hear it."

The doctor hesitated for a moment and adjusted his glasses.

"There's still infected in the garage itself, as well as the surrounding buildings. Most of us don't know how to fight or fend them off, so we were waiting for a miracle to show up, I guess."

"Do the surrounding buildings have enough supplies to armour up some vehicles?" Daniel asked, cross-armed.

"Yes, and the vehicles should be in the garage. We have at least 3 trucks down there." The doctor replied quickly, whilst moving his hands around as he talked.

"Right. There are 3 buildings apart from this main one. We should be able to clear the garage and those buildings within today. If everyone is up for it, of course." Luke looked towards his group of survivors with a determined look, expecting a reply.

He looked at Aiko first.

"Yup."

Then Jose.

"Yessir."

Daniel.

"Got you, bro."

And finally, Will.

"Yeah."

All four survivors replied within a few seconds.

"Alright, let's set up the plan!" Luke gripped his fist and shouted encouragingly towards the group.

"RIGHT!" All four of them shouted back simultaneously.

...

Jose, Dan and Aiko were tasked with taking the elevator to the bottom floor and clearing out the garage. Apparently several infected were still in there.

"Do we have to watch out for anything specific?" Jose asked as the elevator was descending floor by floor.

"No rumbling, gurgling or destructive noises were heard by the doctors who scouted the area, so no Boomers, Tanks, Chargers or large amounts of infected, although..." Daniel paused for a second and gripped one of his axes. "There were no mentions of Screamers, so we have to be extra careful. Your crossbow can come in handy here, Jose. Aiko, try to refrain from shooting until it's the right time to do so."

Aiko firmly nodded as the elevator made its iconic noise of arriving at its destination. Both halves of the door separated, opening in a rather slow motion.

The doors finally creaked open and the survivors stepped out, no flashlights out.

The only source of light they had was the brightness of the outside world, which only shone through the cracks near the rooftop of the garage.

The closest infected to the survivors were several meters away. Daniel gave a signal to Jose that he has permission to shoot them down, so he did. A single arrow piercing through the infected, killing them with one shot. All of the infected within the visible vicinity were murdered. Daniel signalled to the group to stay put for a while. He started moving towards the centre of the garage with both of his axes ready whilst exploring the garage thoroughly. There was a large truck in his way, so he snuck around it, checking for any infected behind it. He only noticed two common infected hidden behind it, so he quickly took care of them and moved up to the last truck of the garage. He did the same thing, he manoeuvred around it and poked his head out from the side of it. His eyes widened and he quickly darted his head back towards his hiding spot. He saw the one thing he should have been afraid of.

A Screamer.

It was eating something rotten and dead behind the truck, its head turned towards the direction Daniel would strike from. He looked around the entire garage and even signalled to the group to remain as quiet as they could. It looked like the Screamer was the last infected in the entire garage. So, as quietly as he could, Daniel snuck around the back of the truck and peeked half of his body out behind the Screamer. With a deep breath in, the Screamer lifted its head and almost turned it around, but its head was immediately decapitated and thrown to the ground. Daniel let out a big sigh of relief and walked back to join the rest of the group.

"We're all good, it was a Screamer, after all," Daniel said to the group as he was putting away his axes.

"That's what I figured, as soon as you told us to keep as quiet as possible." Jose positioned his crossbow on his shoulder in a resting position.

"Welp, we're about all finished up here. Let's make it back upstairs and reconvene with the rest of the doctors. Luka and Will should be getting on with the other plan."

Meanwhile...

There were three buildings to explore, which Will and Luke voluntarily decided to rummage through.

Both men set foot into the hospital's back area, where all the vehicles parked outside, and where there were entrances to these smaller buildings which were all surrounded by barbed wire and walls that were several metres tall.

"Alright, here's the situation we have." Luke turned towards Will, who readied his weapons.

"The first building we got is the closest one, that turquoise one. It's supposed to be the dental/operating areas. It's a medium-sized building, but it's not the biggest one we gotta search through today." Luke relaxed his stance and pointed at the building in question.

"Right, so do we have any major threats in this one?" Will also relaxed his stance and lowered the gun that he drew.

"Considering this is a hospital, I'd imagine the virus would evolve quicker, and it would change its traits and characteristics more frequently, considering all the drugs, medical supplies and every kind of chemical you can find in hospitals being in contact with the virus...but on the other hand, we haven't seen or heard any major destructive or smashing sounds or anything like that. So expecting a Tank is pretty much out of question, they wouldn't stay this quiet for an entire day, but be on your guard. We could definitely see something extraordinary that we haven't seen up to this point." Luke explained thoroughly with a bunch of hand movements.

"Got it, bossman. Let's make sure to do this properly!" Will said as he saluted Luke.

"Right!" Luke saluted back.

Both men started to get into position to infiltrate this building. They walked up to the front doors slowly with their firearms drawn.

Will reached out his hand to open the doors, whilst still having his finger on the trigger of his gun. Luke firmly nodded when Will looked at him for permission. Will slowly opened the door and Luke walked in first. Despite it being daylight outside, the hallway was pitch black, apart from the light coming from the door that Luke and Will opened.

"I guess they like their windows covered up," Luke said in a humorous tone as he and Will both turned their flashlights on.

"No kidding. Look..." Will pointed towards the few rooms that were on the left side of the hallway. "You got those, I can take the rest of the hallway. Sound good?"

"Yup, on it," Luke said as he walked up to the door of the first room. He gestured towards Will to run to the end of the hallway as he entered the first room and closed the door behind him.

He quickly analyzed the room, noticed 2 infected alive in it and immediately shot them both with both of his desert eagles. Noticing a very strange corpse in the middle of the room, he walked up to it and analyzed it. It was a very tall, bulky and large figure with very long arms and legs. It had long and sharp claws, but they weren't as long as a Witch's claws. The entire body was naked, only torn fabric pieces here and there because it was so enormous that it tore all its clothes apart. It was bald, its face was deformed and it had an enormous jaw with several more teeth than humans.

"What in the fuck is this...?!" Luke's eyes widened and he was left confused and stunned. "It's huge..."

He crouched down to analyze its muscles.

"And it looks like it can pack quite a wallop. Its muscles and body structure are insanely huge."

He got up and inspected the corpse once more.

"Whatever the hell this is, it means this kind of infected could still be running around somewhere."

Luke reached for his walkie-talkie but immediately stopped.

"If Will's near a Witch or a Screamer, I can't risk calling him. I have to find him." Luke quickly formed a plan, looked back at the figure and shot it in the head.

"Just to make sure."

He left the room, walked down the hallway and turned towards the rest of the building, which was more open. It looked like a waiting area for patients, but Will was nowhere to be seen.

"God damn it, Will, where the hell did you run off to now?" Luke thought to himself and started exploring all the areas within the waiting area.

He carefully opened a few doors and explored a couple of rooms very quickly. Nothing out of the ordinary. It was so quiet Luke could hear his own heartbeat. He walked up to the second to the last door in the hallway and carefully opened the door.

...

And he was met with Will pointing a gun at him.

Will quickly put down his rifle and took a deep breath.

"Jesus, Luke, thank Christ it's you."

"Who the fuck else would it be?" Luke questioned while whispering. "Keep your voice down, by the way. This place is way too dangerous for only the two of us."

"Are you referring to the weird enormous corpses scattered around?" Will questioned in a concerned tone.

"Yeah. Those things look exceptionally dangerous. And I'm afraid we won't be able to fend them off by ourselves. Maybe we should tactically retreat for now." Luke said as he carefully opened the door and peeped into the hallway.

"Alright, I'm with you. Let's ditch this place." Will slowly started to walk up to the door.

Luke held up a hand towards Will, signalling him to stay still.

"Luke? What's wrong?" Will started questioning Luke, but Luke closed the door as fast and as quietly as he could.

"Don't say another word, Will." Luke sounded serious. "Barricade the door. move that table. I'll help you." Will immediately retreated and made his way towards the table in the room.

The two men lifted the table and placed it against the door as quietly as they could.

They stood at the back of the room for a few dozen seconds.

After a while, they heard something crawling through the vents above them. They were standing right below a ventilation duct.

"HIDE." Luke quickly whispered towards Will.

Both men leapt behind a set of tables which were both located on opposite sides of each other.

Luke could only stare into the corner of the room.

He couldn't make a single sound.

All he heard was the vent cut being kicked open, and the sounds of a creature slurping and gurgling on its saliva. The creature cast an immense shadow over the entire room, which Luke saw on the curtains of the window right next to him.

No doubt about it.

It was one of the creatures.

It was like it could sense a presence in the room.

It turned towards the direction Luke was hiding at.

It was grinding its claws on the file cabinets in the room.

It started to walk towards Luke.

One step.

Two steps.

Three steps...

"Welp. Fuck it." Luke thought as he picked the table up and threw it at the creature.

He dashed towards the creature in a split second and slashed it across its stomach, then its heart, and finally slashed its face twice. The creature seemed to be dazed for a few moments. Luke leapt towards Will and jumped over the table Will was hiding under.

"WILL, TIME TO BLAST IT!" Luke immediately drew his SMG's and started shooting the creature.

"ON IT!" Will also started unloading his clip into the creature.

It seemed to be having an effect.

"I think it's working!" Will shouted over the gunfire and the creature making noise.

"Thank fuck it works at least once!" Luke said through a chuckle.

Just as the creature was starting to fall down, both Will and Luke had to reload.

"Fuck this." Luke threw both of his guns down as Will was searching for a magazine to reload his gun.

He threw a katana aiming for one of the creature's eyes and he managed to hit it in the head.

The creature stumbled back and yelped in pain as Luke slid in between its legs, avoiding the slashes that the creature managed to somehow use during the struggle.

He stabbed the creature through the lungs and grabbed the katana that was still stuck in the creature. He pulled it out and stabbed the creature yet again into the other lung. The creature roared in pain and collapsed, with Luke still on top of its now-dead corpse.

Luke got up, sheathed both of his katanas, whipped his head backwards and spat on the creature's head.

"Out of all the places you could have terrorized...you pick my country."

He got off the corpse of the creature, located both of his guns, picked them both up and put them away into their gun holders.

"Welp, good work, bossman." Will turned towards Luke with a thumbs up.

Luke firmly nodded and turned towards the hallway door.

"There are two problems, though."

Will's happy expression suddenly collapsed.

"One, I'm out of ammo for my SMG's." Luke demonstrated by physically showing Will his empty SMG magazines.

"And two..." Luke pointed towards the window that was covered by a curtain. A horde incoming sound was heard in the middle of Luke's sentence. Both Will and Luke quickly looked out the window. Dozens of common infected were running into the building which Will and Luke were in.

"Things are gonna get rough." Luke finished his sentence.

...

"Hm..." Daniel put on a thinking face.

"Something on your mind, big guy?" Aiko asked seriously and somewhat jokingly.

"Wondering how Luka's doing...you know what?"

Daniel reached for his walkie-talkie. Luke answered immediately.

"No."

There was a clicking noise.

"Luka?"

...

...

...

"...huh."

...

"We should probably head out there, shouldn't we?" Jose asked curiously.

"Yes. Yes, we should." Daniel turned towards Jose and put his walkie-talkie away.

...

"Right, Will!" Luke turned his attention towards Will in a split second.

"We have several windows and entrances to worry about, I think our best bet is to man the hallway. We'll hold our ground in the waiting area. LET'S GO!

"RIGHT!" Will put on a look of determination and both men stood their ground in the waiting area.

Will pointed his gun towards the entrance hallway, whilst Luke would cover his back from every direction.

"Just make sure to eliminate as many as you can from the front, Will. Here." Luke handed Will one of his katanas. "You said you knew how to use it. Show me some tricks until I need it, soldier."

Will firmly nodded and courageously responded.

"Yes, sir."

Will turned forward and prepared for the infected to sprint towards them.

The first infected showed their faces in the hallway.

"Here we go." Will muttered as he started blasting the infected.

A handful of infected started sprinting up towards Will as his back was turned.

"Got your back, William!"

Luke shouted as he grabbed his only katana with both hands for the first time on the journey, which is how a katana is supposed to be handled. He stabbed an infected in the stomach, pulled his sword out quickly, shoved his hips into another infected to push it away and decapitated it. He slashed another infected's guts and shot the next one coming from the other direction.

"Who's next, fuckers?" Luke gripped his katana tightly and placed himself into a very convincing stance.

More and more infected started coming in from the back to the point where Luke couldn't take them out one-by-one. Luke did a trick he once used in the past. He ducked down and sweep-kicked about four infected in front of him.

"William, can I borrow my second katana back?" Luke shouted in the middle of his sweep-kick.

"Help yourself, it's on my belt!" Will shouted as he shoved some infected down that got dangerously close.

Luke backrolled towards William and drew his sword from the sheath William was carrying. Now armed with both of his main weapons, Luke could deal with these infected.

"It's showtime, boys."

Luke leapt towards the four infected that were still on the ground from the sweep-kick and slashed all of their throats in an instant. He decapitated the two infected that were coming towards him from his left. A few infected managed to swing at him from the front, but Luke dodged the front hits and countered by slashing the infected's arms away.

Changing perspective, Will shot all the infected in the front hallway until it looked like a cemetery of dead bodies. A few infected were making their way through a room on Will's left. He quickly turned to the side and shot them with his pistols. He then immediately turned back towards the main hallway where even more infected were running through. An infected managed to sneak through Luke's line of sight and sprinted next to Will while he was busy shooting in the other direction. He sloppily kicked the infected from the side which made it slow down for a split moment. Will was about to take a hit, until...a bullet pierced the infected's rotten brain. Will finished off the rest of the infected in front of him, giving him a bit of breathing room. He turned back towards the direction of the gunshot and all he could see was Luke throwing an infected off of his katana whilst holding up a Desert Eagle with smoke coming out of the barrel.

"I owe you one!" Will quickly shouted.

Luke nodded with understanding.

This little moment of appreciation was cut short by a Jockey jumping on top of Luke's back out of nowhere. It started maniacally laughing whilst attempting to slash at Luke's face, but Luke kept its hands just far enough from his face so it couldn't, but he could only keep this up for so long.

"WILLIAM, IT'S TIME TO PAY ME UP ON THAT ONE FAVOUR THAT YOU OWE ME!" Luke yelled out towards his comrade in arms.

William ran up towards Luke from his position, grabbed the jockey by the shoulders and violently shoved the Jockey off of Luke. He kicked it into the corner before shooting it several times in its vital spots with his Desert Eagles, killing it.

"No time to rest, Luke!" Will shouted out as he shot the infected that was running up to both of them while Luke was crouched down on the ground.

"Appreciate it, brother!" Luke quickly recovered and leapt up into his usual stance.

"Welp, we're lucky. We're just about to wrap this up." Will said with confidence as both men noticed that no common infected were left alive.

However, out of nowhere, in a room behind both men, a Smoker sound was heard and immediately after it, Will started to get dragged by the Smoker's tongue.

"WILL!" Luke immediately started moving towards Will so he could free him or get a better shot at the Smoker, but a Hunter leapt in front of Will and physically blocked Luke's path.

"Son of a fucking whore." Luke spat in front of the Hunter and barely dodged the leap from the Hunter. He couldn't line himself up for a clean swing or shot due to the Hunter immediately returning to his pouncing position and jumping all over the place. Luke did manage to dodge every pounce, but it really didn't help with time management on saving Will. After a few more pounces, Luke was finally able to shove the Hunter, which immobilized it for a few seconds.

"I'll say it again. Son of a fucking whore."

Just as Luke was about to slash it with both of his katanas, the Hunter died from being shot with a shotgun. And apparently, the Smoker's tongue was cut with a machete. The Smoker started retreating until it was met face-to-face with Aiko, who put it down with one shot.

"Took you a fucking while, guys," Luke said with annoyance in his voice.

"At least we fucking made it," Daniel replied with a smirk and offered a hand towards Luke that Luke accepted after a moment or two.

"You won't believe the adventures we had," Will said as he chuckled.

"You're right, I probably won't. Come on, let's raid this building for supplies before moving on." Daniel replied as he took the role of the leader for the time being.

...

"Right, that should be everything. Glad we found some ammo for you, Luka." Daniel said as he tossed a few magazines towards Luke.

"Yup, I'm super glad, as well. Right. It's time to formulate a plan." Luke put his magazines away, moved himself to the middle of the room and waited for everyone to sit down.

"There are two more buildings to raid. One of them is kinda tiny compared to everything else in this hospital compound. Jose and Aiko can handle that one on their own if you're both okay with that." Luke crossed his arms and questioned his two fellow teammates.

"You can count on us, Luke," Aiko exclaimed with confidence and excitement to go on a mission to prove herself, even if it was a smaller task.

"Great..." Luke turned his attention to the two biggest people in the room. "Will, Daniel. I'm gonna need both of you to explore the biggest building in the vicinity. Are you willing to accompany me?" Luke lifted a fist in the air as he asked the question.

"As if we got a fucking choice, Luka," Daniel smirked as he lifted his fist in the air, as well.

"Got your back, leader." Will also lifted his fist in the air.

"LET'S DO THIS, GUYS!" Luke shouted at the top of his lungs.

"RIGHT!" Everyone shouted back.

...

How about we follow the main action for a little bit?

Will, Dan and Luke were standing a few dozen meters away from the main building as they were preparing to raid it.

"Prepare, gentlemen." Luke started his speech as the two men turned to face him. "I have no idea what we will find here. This is where they keep all the patients at. Prepare for the worst. We stick together no matter what."

"Understood." Both men nodded in agreement.

"Right. Follow me." Luke started to move towards the building swiftly, but cautiously.

Dan and Will followed him the same way.

At the front, there was a big metal door this time around. All the men walked up to it before Luke stopped them.

"We should find a different entrance, a less noisy one." He said in a lower tone. "I don't think that Daniel breaking the door down this time will do us any good."

"Dick. Let's go around back then, surely there's another way in," Daniel suggested whilst keeping his voice down, too.

"Alright, good plan, let's move," Luke whispered as he guided the guys towards the back.

At the back of the treatment centre, there were only dumpsters full to the maximum of garbage.

"No zombies, huh?" Daniel proclaimed as he lowered his guard and weapons.

"Apparently they decided to take a vacation. Good enough for us. Let's make our way inside."

The three men prepared their weapons again and marched towards the backdoor.

The backdoor led only to a staircase going up. At the top of the stairs, a very long hallway led into the rest of the building. It was more narrow than you'd expect it to be for such a large building.

"What am I looking at?" Daniel questioned as he turned around to Luke.

Luke raised an eyebrow towards Daniel.

"You're looking at a hallway, Daniel. Do they not have those in 'murica?"

"Don't be a smartass, you know what I meant. Why is it so narrow? I thought this building was huge."

"I believe the buildings we've been through so far have been extremely narrowly designed from the inside, so the buildings would seem bigger and thicker from the outside." Will pointed out as he adjusted his military jacket.

"Is there a reason for that kind of design choice?" Daniel turned towards Will.

Everyone paused for a brief moment.

"Maybe to make the buildings seem more secure? Perhaps they wanted to make them more stable and protected. Perhaps to create an illusion of bulkiness and large structure for the buildings?" Will threw out a guess.

"Well, whatever the reason is, it just means we have a lot less ground to search through." Luke readied his weapons, as did Daniel and Will. "Right, here's the plan. The two of you will systematically check each room, Will will check the first one, then Daniel will check the next one. I'll be covering the hallways whilst you guys explore."

"You got it, bossman." Daniel pulled his shotgun out and prepared it for firing.

Luke walked past the first few rooms and nodded towards Will in agreement.

"You're up."

Will firmly gripped his rifle and opened the first door to a room.

...

Meanwhile...

Aiko and Jose were tasked with exploring a much smaller building that was used as a storage facility.

"A storage facility shouldn't take us that long to explore, plus we've been through several of these before. Let's do this, Aiko!" Jose encouraged Aiko with enthusiasm.

Aiko sincerely smiled and nodded firmly back at her friend.

They opened the storage area's massive door up and raised their weapons towards the now-revealed darkness. Both of them signalled each other towards the opposite sides of the storage facility. Aiko would explore the left side while Jose would take the right side. They started moving through the rows and shelves of boxes and supplies that they would prepare to pack with the group later.

...

Meanwhile...

"Do you think Aiko and Jose are having a better time with themselves?" Daniel asked Luke in the hallway, cross-armed.

"We told them to just explore the area and mark down the important supplies that we gotta use for the trucks. Hopefully, they're finding more success than us." Luke replied as he was keeping an eye out around the hallway.

"Yeah, all we got in this building so far is jackshit. Just absolute pure dogshit." Daniel sounded disappointed more than pissed.

"GUYS! YOU MAY WANNA CHECK THIS OUT!" Will shouted from behind the door.

Both men's attention was suddenly in Will's hands.

"Take it away, soldier," Luke said as he opened the door and both he and Daniel entered.

"Just look in the centre of the room." Will firmly said as he put his gun away.

Luke and Daniel's eyes widened. There was a massive hole in the middle of the room. It went deep into the ground, considering they were only up on the first floor.

"It's fucking deep!" Luke stated.

"That's what...-" Daniel began his sentence.

"...she said." Luke finished it.

"A classic. Anyway, if you look down deep enough, it looks like some kind of high tech lab all the way down below." Will pointed his finger towards the hole.

"It definitely does not look friendly down there. The fucking floor looks like it's made out of alien technology." Dan peeked down the hole.

"How about we test something real quick?" Luke got up and walked towards a table on the side of the room.

Daniel and Will directed their attention towards Luke. Luke grabbed a nearby coffee mug and walked back towards the hole. He chucked the mug down the hole...and it didn't break. It was brought down very gently by some machines operating next to the hole in the lab.

"Does anyone have the balls to jump down?" Luke turned to both men standing next to the hole.

"How are we supposed to get back up if we jump down there, Luka?" Daniel raised a valid point.

As Daniel finished that sentence, the coffee mug was somehow shot back up through the hole, right back within Luke's grasp.

Will and Daniel's mouths opened in shock.

"Fuck off, Luka. You did not know that was gonna happen." Daniel stared at Luke blankly until Luke's laughter broke the silence.

"We don't get anything without trying, do we? Come on, boys." Luke said as he pointed his head towards the hole.

Neither of them moved.

"Alright, see you down there."

Luke leapt into the hole after a wind-up. He was slowed down by the machines but still had to stick the landing by rolling forward and successfully landing firmly on his feet.

Will and Dan could be seen peeking down the hole from all the way upstairs, at least a few stories up.

"Welp, William." Daniel shook his head. "Good luck."

Daniel did the same thing as Luke and managed to successfully land. After a few moments, William could be seen by both Daniel and Luke in the laboratory.

"So glad you could join us," Daniel exclaimed.

Luke finally took a good look around now that everyone was together.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Every man in the room was left speechless.

...

"IT'S A FUCKING EMPTY ROOM?" Daniel shouted into the void of black and blue walls.

As soon as Daniel shouted that, an area to the left of our group was open. It seemed like the wall raised itself enough to reveal a different room.

"Maybe you should complain more often." William joked as the wall raised itself.

There was a single glass wall in this extension of a room. Behind the glass wall was none other than...a Tank. It was strapped to some kind of machine that seemed to hold it back somehow.

"Luka, is that a Sacrifice Tank?" Daniel quickly mumbled.

"Keep your goddamn voice down. Everyone, crouch."

And so, they did.

"I'd rather not find out what kind of Tank it is. Look, let's just go up the way we came." Luke said as he turned around to look towards the hole.

"Good, it's still there. I thought it would somehow close in on itself."

As soon as Luke spoke those words, the hole was blocked off with an energy field of some sort. Next to the hole, strapped to the ceiling, was a note that said 'Kill the subject to exit the training room.'

"Well...fuck." Luke said as he looked back towards the Tank.

The machine the Tank was strapped to suddenly released him. The Tank opened his eyes and glared towards the group.

"To answer your question, Daniel."

Daniel directed his attention to Luke for a split second.

"That is most certainly a Sacrifice Tank."

Daniel sighed loudly.

...

"Son of a fucking piece of shit."

"Prepare yourselves, gentlemen. We have some shit to do." Luke exclaimed as he drew his reloaded SMGs out of their holders.

"T'was nice knowing you folks." Will firmly gripped his rifle and pointed it down the line.

"I agree, sarge..." Daniel pulled his shotgun out and prepared it for firing. "It was nice, indeed."

Well, here goes nothing. The men waited for the beast to break the glass so they could begin to open fire on it. Instead of smashing the glass, it ripped a hole out of the floor and threw a piece of the floor at the glass.

"HE'S THROWING! SCATTER!" Luke shouted as all three men ducked or rolled in different directions. None of them got hit, but the rock did hit the far back wall that our group was standing in front of. It looked like it cracked the wall a small bit.

The Tank started running towards the group.

"THE HELL DO WE DO NOW?" Daniel shouted in fear.

"KEEP FIRING AT IT! I'LL KEEP HIM BUSY FOR A LITTLE WHILE!" Luke yelled back as he dashed in front of both Daniel and Will.

He drew both of his katanas from their respective sheaths and stood his ground.

"Come on, big fella."

The Tank swung at Luke, but Luke managed to duck under it and get into a sliding position. He slid underneath the Tank, barely avoiding his other arm swing. When Luke got into an upright position he began slashing at the Tank's back, shoulders and arms. He got a few good slashes in before having to dodge a backhanded swing from the Tank. Luke planted his feet firmly and anticipated another low blow, but the Tank started swinging low before he grabbed Luke and slammed him into the ground with his returning hand.

"Son of a bitch!" Will yelled out as he continued firing at the Tank.

"LUKA!" Daniel put his shotgun away and grabbed both of his axes before dashing towards the Tank.

"Daniel! I got your back, I'm right here!" Will shouted and kept pouring bullets into the Tank as he got closer as well.

Daniel threw one of his axes into the Tank's thick neck, which somehow worked. The axe stuck into the back of the Tank's neck, and it stumbled backwards for a moment, letting go of Luke in the process. Luke quickly recovered and got up within a few seconds. By the time Luke got up, Daniel was already pulling the axe out and swinging at the Tank's joints to immobilize him.

"LET HIM HAVE IT, LUKA! IT'S NOW OR NEVER!" Daniel shouted towards his best friend.

"ALREADY ON IT, DANIEL!" Luke shouted back as he leapt towards the front of the Tank and continued his attack on the beast immediately after recovering.

The Tank opened his eyes furiously and performed some sort of spin attack that Luke was able to dodge, but Daniel just swung at him, so he was out of position and got hit. He got thrown back against the wall behind him.

"Son of a fucking whore." Daniel exclaimed as he took a moment to spit out some blood from his mouth and catch his breath.

The Tank turned his attention towards Luke and continued swinging at him, but Luke could only dodge so much. He got a couple of extra swings in before being hit by a clenched fist from the Tank. Luke flew to the opposite wall of where Daniel was, but he turned his feet towards the wall to land a bit more cleanly.

"God fucking damn it...WILL, GET OUT OF THERE!" Luke shouted once he realised the Tank turned his head towards William.

Will waited for the Tank to charge him, and he did. He rolled to the side and quickly made his way towards Luke as the Tank hit the wall head-first and dazed itself for a few seconds.

"Get up, Luke!" Will shouted as he grabbed Luke and helped him get back on his feet.

"Thank you, I'm fine." Luke got up and he looked fine. "If there was a time to get up, it would be now, Daniel!"

Daniel got up after a few seconds of hearing that sentence.

"We ready for round 2, gentlemen?" Luke questioned his teammates.

"Never felt better..." Daniel cracked his neck. "Let's keep the pressure on up close, Luka."

"I agree. Will, now would be the time to reload. You're gonna have to cover us from behind."

"On it! I'm ready!" Will reloaded his weapons and aimed towards the Tank.

A few seconds went by of the Tank still appearing to be dazed up against a wall. Luke spat on the ground beside himself and threw a katana into the Tank's spine. It hit his lower spine, and it appeared to have a great effect. The Tank stumbled back even further and it attempted to take the katana out of its back.

"Fuck this." Luke dashed towards the Tank, grasped his katana and pulled it out of the Tank's spine.

"Right behind you, bro!" Daniel shouted from behind.

"The same situation, you got his back and joints! I'll handle the front!" Luke jumped against the Tank's back and bounced off the wall to position himself in front of the Tank.

"You got it! DO IT!" Daniel yelled out with encouragement and started slashing the Tank once more.

"It's over, big guy."

Luke stuck both his katanas into the Tank's eyes, pulled them out violently and kept stabbing the Tank into vital areas whilst quickly pulling both of the swords out. The Tank roared with severe rage and pain and it collapsed on the floor, dead.

As a tradition, Luke spat on the back of the Tank's head.

"One way trip to hell for you, big boy."

The energy field that was covering the hole suddenly vanished.

"Just like it's fucking magic, eh?" Will joked as he pointed towards the hole.

"Apparently so. Come on, lads. Let's get the fuck out of here." Luke stepped up underneath the hole and got pulled upwards, then Daniel and Will both successfully got back to the surface.

"What did we learn from that experience?" Luke questioned the two men.

"Don't go near holes and don't fuck with Sacrifice Tanks," Daniel said a bit sarcastically as he counted the two things.

"You know what, we'll go with that. Let's ditch this place, that was the last room." Luke said as he guided the boys out of the building.

...

A bit later, the group managed to gather all the supplies they collected from the buildings, including the trucks themselves. They drove them out of the garage and into the open road from behind the hospital. By the end of the day, the group was able to steadily armour the trucks and load them with supplies.

In total, there were 3 armoured trucks full of supplies and an armoured car that could fit 5 people and some supplies.

Luke stood in front of all the vehicles by the end of the day.

"Doctor, we need the patients loaded into the trucks!"

Luckily, only a few patients were left in the hospital, including Luke's mother, so there was still room for everyone in the trucks.

"Everyone, get on. No reason to wait any longer. We shall head straight to Belarus!"

"YEAH!"

Everyone raised their hands and fists in the air together.
