2 Days Laters
Rocky sat at the top of the lookout diligently typing away at the keyboard. He heard the faint sound of a footstep.
He turned around and saw Ryder standing tall with a somewhat serious facial expression etched in. Rocky raised an eyebrow.
Ryder spoke. "... When we insert there...you can't go, you have no fighting experience and we don't want any weak links." Ryder informed and waited for Rocky's response.
Rocky let out a huff. "Thank goodness! I am not a fighter."
Ryder raised an eyebrow. "Well then, guess that's solved." He said as he scuffled Rocky's fur.
Chase and Tracker sat in the backyard part of the lookout. "When was the last time you fought?" Tracker asked.
Chase raised an eyebrow. "Oddly specific question..." Chase replied raising suspicion. He wanted to hear where this was going.
"Maybe...we can have a little tiny sparring match." Tracker asked without much expectation.
Chase stretched his younger body. "Put this thing to use then." He smirked and got up. "No biting."
Tracker nodded.
They circled each other, staring into others eyes as they slowly walked in a circle. Each waited for a time to strike.
Tracker thought of something Skye told him. Since Chase never lets his guard down he almost always jumpy.
Tracker took a fake jump towards Chase and according to plan Chase jumped out of the way.
Tracker took the chance to rush Chase. Chase Swang his arms at the Tracker but to his dismay Tracker weaved in between all of them.
He turned around to look for the Chihuahua but he wasn't there.
Two small paws quickly wrapped around Chase's neck.
From the inside of the lookout some of the pups watched in amusement as Tracker danced around Chase.
Chase got on his hind legs and dropped onto his back. Tracker moved out of the way. Chase felt the air inside of him escape all at once.
He struggled to get back up as Tracker took the time to push, shove, and tire out the German Shepherd.
The second Chase was up he was back down right after.
Tracker enjoyed every second of this thrilling experience.
Chase growled as he finally recuperated. He slowly walked towards Tracker who tried to think of something. "Maybe I played with my food." He mumbled.
He pawed Chase across the face but he barely moved. Chase rushes Tracker with a head butt and surprisingly catches Tracker with it.
Tracker kicked Chases leg twice before finally escaping. He kicked it some more as he struggled to avoid Chase.
After awhile and trading small hits Tracker notices Chase starting to show some weakness in the targeted leg.
Tracker gave himself up. Chase took the bait and put his two paws on Tracker.
Tracker suddenly used his hind legs to kick Chase's leg.
Chase let out a loud Yelp and fell over. "I'm out I'm out!" Chase cried out as he laid on his back.
Tracker got up and went to go check on Chase. He quickly scanned the area to make sure nobody saw this.
After 6 minutes of pain Chase huffed. "I think I can stand." He informed.
Tracker helped him to his paws and they headed to the lookout. "I'm sorry! I just wanted to play an-
"I'll just say I fell." Chase said trying to ease Tracker's thoughts.
Chase tried his best to smoothly walk into the living room. Luckily nobody noticed him.
Tracker heard chattering that included keywords "tracker" and "Chase"
He waited for Skye to walk up to him and bug him but he forgot about her recent recession from trying to date him. Tracker huffed and looked for something to do.
He watched Everest trot over to Chase while Marshall and Ash talked. Zuma was with Ella and Tuck watching a show.
He felt a soft hand touch his head. "Skye's outside in the front if you're wondering." Carlos whispered.
Tracker hesitantly shrugged.
Everest fell over right next to Chase. She rolled over onto his paws right after Chase moved them out of the way. "You okay?" She asked.
"No, I am not. I fell and now my paw hurts." Chase said. His paw felt like it was on fire with every throb.
Everest looked at Chase with an unamused expression before getting up to go get an ice pack.
The next day
Ryder, Chase, Tracker, Carlos, and Tracker sat at the top of the lookout discussing their plan to enter the facility. Their ideas could only run so far. "There's only one entrance..." Ryder informed.
They looked around and shrugged. "So...we go through there." Carlos replied.
Ryder glanced to the others, most of them nodding with Carlos' idea.
Ryder walked over to a blue and red box sitting on a desk. He blindly searched inside. "Ah ha." He mumbled.
He returned to the group and placed a small hard drive on the table. "Thank you Rocky, we have a kill code. But since the super computer isn't done being built, we're gonna blow up the place from the inside." Ryder added as he pulled remote detonated charges.
"Where'd you get that?" Chase questioned.
Rocky smirked.
Ryder continued his talk. "We'll insert in 3 days so make these days count. I'll figure out on how to get a map of the place. Pretty sure I can make something." Ryder finished.
Chase waited for everyone to leave the room so he could limp out. He looked down at his leg and noticed that nothing about it had gotten better.
Tracker sighed.
He stared at a wall.
One hour
He blinks
Two hours
Soon enough the commotion of the pups heading off to bed startles him. "What time is it?" He asked
"Time to catch some Z's" Everest said as she helped Chase out.
Tracker slowly walked outside with Skye on his mind. He started to realize the impact she had on him and his stay here at adventure bay. Then he noticed Skye cleaning up he area of the lookout where her pup house is.
He didn't deserve second chance at redemption but who was telling him he shouldn't try. He trotted over to her, trying to prepare a speech for himself.
Skye must've heard his footsteps because she turned around. For a split second her eyes lit up before dying again.
Tracker stopped in front of her and opened his mouth. Skye raised an eyebrow. "Do you need something to start with?" Skye asked trying to help him out.
Tracker took that as a conversation starter and went with it. "Look Skye. I made a mistake pushing you away. I only thought for myself and not you or how great you are. I have never met a girl like you, and trust me there are A LOT of girls in South America but they all have horrible flaws an-
-is this an apology?" Skye cut him off not wanting to hear another word.
They shared a stare. "Yes."
A smile grew across her face and her eyes looked as happy as the first time they had met. Tracker couldn't help but smile as well.
"Beautiful."
They turned around and saw Zuma standing stiff. "Did…did you hear all of it?" Skye asked.
Zuma nodded and wiped off a fake tear. He nodded and walked away.
"Wanna look at the moon? Rocky and Marshall say it's a good view." Skye asked.
Tracker shrugged. "I'll try to say yes more."
Skye liked the thought of Tracker saying yes more. They sat down and embraced each other until their eyes could no longer see.
