First day of Hogwarts
I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to publish this chapter. But here it is hope you enjoy it.
The New York crew had gotten up extra early to get a workout in, but they were caught by miss Norris and then M. Filch. "Students out of bed are not permitted. If it was up to me, you'd all be expelled." He started rambling on about how he hates children, and he made them follow him toward Professor Dumbledore. On their way to the office, they met him in the hall of the school. "That's enough, Filch. These Five have my permission to be out of bed in the morning before another student. I've just not had the chance to give them their passes, so something like this wouldn't happen. You see Filch they have other studies that they still need to attend to on top of their school work" Dumbledore handed them each a piece of parchment with their permission slips "That is all Filch. I must show Mister Lightwood his classroom so he may be prepared for class this morning." He started walking down the hall probably to go terrorize some other kids "This way, I hope that the information that Magnus gave us about your specification for your classroom is up to your standard." Dumbledore walked down the hall "Are you coming, I've got a feeling will be spending most of our free time there." Alec told the others and they followed suit.
Dumbledore opened a door that led to a stain of the art training facility. To one side there were desks and chairs and the other was an open area to do some hand-to-hand combat. "Wow, now I thought the New York Institute was top of the line, but this is top Shit "
"Language Isabelle." She rolled her eyes at Alec.
"This will definitely be good. Thank you, Professor and I hope the student is ready for an intense class." Alec shook Dumbledores hand. The old man departed the classroom. Jace went straight to the wall of knives, picked out his favourite and gave it a swing. Alec looked around "Okay I've got to make a good impression on these students. Third-year students will be my first. So, I think I would want Izzy and Clarry doing some training in the arena and Jace maybe you could be throwing knives and I want you to be sitting up on that after reading. This will be what they will see when they walk in." They spent the next 10mins exploring the different weapons and classrooms.
On the first day of school, Hermione woke up early because she was very eager to get a head start on the class material not that she wasn't already ahead. She was surprised that the Issy and Clarry beds were emptied and made, and they were nowhere in sight. She got up and got dressed for class and then headed down to the common room, which was still quiet, most students were still asleep classes dint start for about 2 hours it was about 6:30 am by the way the sun was shining through the castle windows. She enjoyed getting up early to get the conmen room practically to herself and get some quiet time in to study but today she had decided to write a letter to her parents. She had just finished up the letter and she was off to the owlery when she met the new friends running inside from the courtyard. They were all dressed in some form of black warrior gear that was in their school supply list for the year but they didn't have the school crest or their house colour threaded through it in some of the details like hers
"Oh, hello Hermione, you're up early," Clary said dabbing some sweat off her forehead
"Well, not as much as you lot but yes I enjoy the calmness of the emptiness of the school. I normally spend it doing extra credit or studying, but because its start of term I'm already known as" the know it all" so I just wrote a letter to my parents and was about to head out to the Owlery, then off to breakfast it's a busy day with a new class added to our schedule and all." She said, "Oh why were you all out this early?" "We were out doing training sessions. We train like 6 times a day to craft our skills. Now we're off to freshen up and get breakfast. If you give us five will join you, I got to send a letter to the London Institute and for some reason, we can't send fire message." Isabelle said and ran up the stairs to change into her school robes with her Shadowhunter gear underneath ready for anything. Then Hermione, Clarry and Izzy went off to the Owlery.
At breakfast, Alec seemed to be quite nervous "You'll do great Alec, you taught me everything I know," Isabelle tried to cheer him up but it didn't seem to work "Well your just one person in like half an hour I've got to teach about our world and students that have no training how to fight and know nothing about the danger that they may face with demons. Plus, you were killing demons before you were 12 it's in your blood." He got up and went off mumbling "what is he saying, Simon." Jace asked while stuffing his face. Simon consecrated Alec, drowning out all the other students in the great hall. "He's on about he's not ready and he needs to get the classroom ready" Jace got up "I should maybe see if he needs help." Took off running with a toast in one hand and an apple in the other hand.
Everyone finished up their meal and headed to class. From what Alex told them that morning is that the school had shuffled things around and placed the class at the beginning of the day starting with the first, second, 3rd and 4th-year class together then 5,6&7 together to not hinder Alec's studies the old students are being taught during Alec "free period"
With the help of the London institute, Dumbledore transformed one of the high ceiling classes into a pristine training room. Students started to slowly trickle in as there were benches lined the walls of the class. Jace and Alec stood in front of the class discussing things. Jace, Alec, Clary, Isabelle, and Simon were the only ones in gear.
In the back of the class, Draco leaned up against the wall thinking he's better than everyone "I've got a wand for a reason. Why don't I just hex this "shadow hunters" and be done with it." He said to Crabbe and Goylel. What he did not know is that Simon heard all of it and so did Alec apparently with his runes. This gave Alec a great idea of how to start his lesson. So, he took hold of his weapon of choice the bow and arrow and shot it in the direction of Malfoy. Draco looked in shock "Mister Malfoy is it? The first thing you need to know is we "Shadowhunters" are not Muggles. We are a part human part angel. Long ago this man named Johnathan Morningstar was the first of our kind he was offered blood from the angles in this mortal cup which is part of the mortal instrument which Professors Bane will tell you all about. I'm here to train you. To whip you up to shape for when the time comes you may be ready." "Ready for what? How to die or how to kill your students. Wait till my father hears about a student teaching student" Draco made his usual threat. "Yes, I am a student thank you for noticing. But now I am the only one who is able and trustworthy. In our world, there is this man that wants to ride the world of downworlders. Downworlders are vampires, werewolves, fairies, and warlocks. Our jobs as Shadowhunter are to keep the shadow world at peace. We also kill demons when they threaten the mundane world. The authorities think that this man has joined forces with "he who must not be named" and I am here to teach you how to fight using not only your wands but these weapons. Now Jace, clary and Isabelle will be my assistant. They already have trained under their belts and have been fighting demons for years. Now the first rule that you need to know is you must come prepared ready to work in my class so go get changed now." He pointed to the changing rooms at the other end of the class "Mister Malfoy that's the wrong direction of the change room." All the students shuffled back into the classroom dressed in their gear. Jace handed everyone a stick.
"Great everyone ready. Watch carefully" he gave a look at Izzy she took her whip off her wrist and made it into a hard fighting stick like everyone else. Jace and Izzy demonstrated a set of maneuvers
"Look at how they're blocking each other's blows. Now I want you to pair up and block each other's blows "Jace had just pinned Izzy to the floor. Jace was way too cocky and celebrated too early, so she took it to her advantage and whipped his ass to the floor "lesson one doesn't ever turn your back on your opponent."
"This is a waste of time." Draco said and went to walk away but Simon had enough of his snarky comments, so he used his vampire speed and met him at the door "where you off to hotshot" Draco looked confused "Get out of my way. How did you get here when you were in front of the class?" Draco looked at Simon with a look of utter confusion "You see I'm what they call a vampire so therefore I've got super speed and great hiring so any little comments you lot got to say I heir so shut up and listen." Simon moved to the front of the classroom with Draco's arm in hand. "Ah, we have a volunteer to be a partner with me." Alec threw a stick at Draco "let's begin." Everyone paired up and started to work on it
"Izzy, why don't you keep at it with misters Malfoy, and I'll go correct some students." Isabelle took the rains and Alec scanned the room "great job Hermione and Ginny keep it up. Mister Weasley, keep your eyes on your partner. That's rule number one of combat: always keep an eye on your appointment. The more you practice the better you'll get to anticipate your opponent and can block their hits." Alec moved through the room correcting some of the students' actions.
"Okay, that is enough physical training for today's class if you all take a seat and will start on the study of the codex." Alec moved to the blackboard where he taught the witches and wizards the use of runes. He also touched on the subjects of the downworlders.
Class ended and students slowly walked out rubbing their muscles in pain
"Well, that was an interesting class. I think I'll enjoy this." Said Ron as they exited the classroom into the hall to their next classes Hermione and Izzy heeded to muggle studies and the rest were off to Divination
"So how are you enjoying Hogwarts. I know that for some it can be a little overwhelming. Seeing as a muggle-born it was a shock at first but then I got all my books and read all about Hogwarts, so I was quite excited. Now I've had a look at your school schedule, and it seems that we share so will be sharing this time turner to get from class to class."
"Well, I think this is quite awesome and magus. Sorry Professor Bane has talked to me about this thing called a time turner and that you'd be the one to talk to." Hermione looked around to make sure that other students were out of earshot "So yesterday Professor McGonagall pulled me aside and gave me this." She pulled out from her jumper a long pendant with an hourglass in the middle. "So, all we have to do is put the chain around us and turn the hourglass and accordingly the only thing that we need to do is not to be seen by our self and anyone else." "That sounds great and as a Shadowhunter, it is our job to be stealthy."
The rest of the day went by quickly now they were all heading down to hagrides for the care of the magical creatures. Hermione and Issy were in an interesting conversation about their class of ancient ruins.
"Hag on a minute isn't ancient runes and divination at the same time? And how many classes are you both taking to be exact" Ron asks
"Were taking a fair few and don't be silly Ron we can't be at to places at once," Isabelle said. Care of Magical creator was really interesting they were introduced to Buckbeak the hippogriff until Malfoy went and did something stupid like insult Buckbeak and get hurt.
The diner feast was loud max came by and told us all about his day he seemed to have made lots of friends and one of them being Ron's sister Ginny who is also in Gryffindor like all the other Weasley kids. Witch, there are 7 of them.
