Author note: I changed the story so chapter 1 and chapter 2 won't be the same as they were on April 20, 2020. I hope you enjoy the story and be sure to read chapter 1 and 2, so your not confused. Once again, sorry for the confusion.
Adrien walked towards her Bakery as he was in thought, what if they were to be together? How much would it affect her life? Would she handle being the queen or, much less, being in a relationship with me? Wait, what am I thinking? We aren't even in a relationship. I should be content with being friends. Don't ruin it for yourself. He quietly scolded himself.
His weird gestures made some of the townspeople look at him. Not recognizing that he was the prince, they quickly walked away in fear of being robbed. Noticing he was scaring the few townspeople, he quietly made his way to the bakery, where he saw a man flirting with his lady. He had black hair and a suit with a 15th-century guitar. How did he maintain a guitar under exceptional conditions?
Despite wanting to push him back from his lady, he knew that nothing could ever happen between them. Yet, the more he watched them, the more he wanted to throw him away from her. Knowing his place, he stayed across the street watching the scene but seeing the other male became uncomfortably close with Marinette; he began making his way towards her. Adrien entered the bakery right when the young fool unexpectedly grabbed her and tried to kiss her, but she kicked him and pushed him to the side, where his head struck upon the wall, causing a hole to appear. He frightenedly peered at her and fled the bakery, pushing Adrien out of the way. Adrien felt sinful for not defending his love yet desired her more but held himself back as the guitar fellow ran.
Taking a deep breath, he entered the bakery, where he noticed two teacups on the table two feet away from the hole in the wall looking around the bakery. He couldn't help but laugh.
Noticing him after hearing his laughter, she looked scared but quickly changed her attitude and laughed with him. As she looked at the hole on her wall, she stopped laughing.
"Oh no!" She gasped and rushed to the hole. Turning to Adrien, she said, "Do you think I could put a painting to cover it?" Adrien was gasping for breath as she questioned him. He walked towards her and said, "Well, you could, but it might be a little chilly during winter."
Taking a closer look at the wall, he couldn't help but be in awe. Those questions he had earlier vanished. Then a new thought came up, Maybe she can.
"How did you do that?" He questioned while staring at her, causing Marinette to look at him.
"What do you mean?" Adrien pointed to the hole on the wall and smiled.
"Well, I told you I could take care of myself." She confidently smiled and looked away. However, Adrien's eyes were on Marinette as he questioned how strong she was.
Feeling his eyes on her, Marinette turned towards him.
"What?" She responded. Not responding, he kept staring at her. Feeling awkward, she turned around to head into the kitchen when he said, "Why are you strong?" Not expecting to question her strength, she quickly turned around and responded. "Why are you asking me that?"
Adrien looked at the wall again and said, "No matter how you throw a person on the wall, there shouldn't be a hole on it unless the thrower is strong enough to push the victim enough to crack it." Clearing her throat, she said, "Um. A friend showed me how to defend myself. You know a single lady living in residence by herself can cause unwanted people to appear."
Nodding his head, Adrien accepted her reason. Maybe it's nothing, Adrien thought and looked away from the wall, where his attention was brought back to Marinette, where he noticed her white dress was red. Concerned, Adrien rushed to Marinette.
"Are you hurt!" He shouted and quickly looked around her for more injuries. In shock, Marinette didn't say anything till he bent down. Seeing him on the floor, desperately looking for injuries, she couldn't help but laugh.
"No, it was probably his blood when I kicked him, but thank you." She said as she looked down at him.
"What for?" Adrien said while standing up and wiped his pants from dust.
"For caring about me." With that said, Marinette walked to the table to clean up. Adrien smiled and let her go but saw the two teacups; Marinette grabbed them and realized they were empty. What?
"Did you know him?" Marinette stiffened and said, "What makes you say that?"
"The teacups, they're empty. Who is he?" Adrien questioned, but Marinette grabbed his hand and said, "There is no need to talk about him, is there? It was an awful experience, so let's put it past us." Kissing his cheek. Moving away from his cheek, she whispered, "Thank you for making me feel better." Turning his head towards her, where the lips are inches apart. Adrien desperately wanted to kiss her, but knowing he shouldn't, he pulled away. He couldn't let go of the weird encounter today—much to Marinette's disappointment.
"I didn't do anything," Adrien took a step back, leaving a gap between them. She smiled and walked away with the two teacups in her hand. "Do you need help?" Adrien finally offered, and Marinette responded with a no.
Adrien nodded his head while he listened to her rummaging in the kitchen. Listening to her, he headed towards the chair and sat down. Marinette was hiding something from him, but was he in a position to demand answers? No, taking a deep breath, he relaxed. In deep thought, he didn't notice Marinette coming up behind him till she touched his shoulder. Scaring him, she looked at him cautiously before saying, "I think you should go; I'm quite tired today. I'll see you tomorrow, my friend." She said,
"Are you sure? I could stay here if you don't feel comfortable being by yourself." He offered, but Marinette shooked her head. "I'll be alright. Anyway, I prefer to be alone right now, thank you." Adrien understood and got up to leave. Before he stepped out of the bakery, he turned around and said, "Be careful." She smiled, and he left the bakery. Making the walk back to the palace, he couldn't help but contemplate the weird occurrences that happened. Was Marinette in trouble, or is he trying to steal his lady? Adrien stopped and was about to walk back angrily to the bakery, where he found himself in front of the window and his reflection staring back at him. What is he doing? He has no claim over her?
He couldn't demand answers when she didn't owe him anything. Frustrated with his heart and brain pulling at each other, he turned around and headed back to the palace.
Walking back to the palace, he went to his hole to slide underneath to get back into the palace. Moving the bush as it prickled him, he quickly climbed his hidden rope up to his window. Safely making up to his room. Changing out of his disguise to pajamas, he walked towards his bedding and stopped when he spotted a wedding attire.
