An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 10
Over the next few days Derek had developed a fever, cough, headaches and chills and was diagnosed with the flu. The team including Penelope had been called away on a case to Texas.
Penelope didn't want to leave Derek, she wanted to stay by his side and take care of him and help him feel better. Hotch knew that she didn't want to go but she was the best tech so she had to go.
Derek promised her that he would be alright, that his mom would be checking on him several times a day. Hearing that made her feel better and she reluctantly agreed to go with the team.
Three days later Derek wasn't doing much better but the team was no where near ready to catch the unsub so she had no choice but to stay with them. Everybody knew that her heart was in Virginia with Derek and they couldn't blame her.
Zach and Peter knew this was their chance, she was out of town and this would give them the opportunity they needed to finally for once and for all break up Derek and Penelope permanently.
Peter being amazing on computers had no trouble in finding out when the team was on their way back to Virginia. He picked that time to get everything set up and ready so that Derek would be caught cheating on Penelope.
Penelope looked up and smiled at Hotch as he said, "alright, it's late so everybody head home and we'll do our paperwork tomorrow". Everybody happily agreed and headed to their cars.
She couldn't wait to get home and check on Derek, he hadn't sounded good when she called him earlier to check on him. Penelope hated seeing anybody, especially people she loved being sick or hurt.
When she pulled into the driveway she sighed and said, "I'll get my go bag later, right now all I want to do is go check on adonis. Once inside she toed off her shoes and wiggled her toes as she headed toward the stairs.
The closer to the bedroom she got the bigger her smile, she had been gone almost a week and when the team caught a break and caught the unsub she couldn't wait to get back home to Virginia and her hotstuff.
She stopped in the hall when she to their bedroom door, she took a deep breath and then slowly opened the door hoping to see a sleeping Derek. Her heart shattered when she saw Derek with his arms wrapped around another woman, a naked woman.
Penelope covered her mouth with her hand as the tears slid down her cheeks, as she stood there looking she still couldn't believe it. Derek, her Derek had lied, he had been cheating on her this entire time.
As she walked closer to the bed she saw that the woman that was in bed with Derek was indeed the woman from the earlier pictures. She shook her head and thought, "how could you do this to me, you liar, you liar".
She then turned around and ran from the room, now what she didn't know was that Derek had been drugged and was asleep. As she ran from the house she almost tripped on the steps because she was blinded from the tears that filled her eyes.
Across the street a proud and happy Peter and Zach stood smiling as they watched a heartbroken Penelope climb into her car and race away from the curb. Peter said, "she's devastated, she'll never trust Derek again, she'll never believe anything he has to say ever again".
Zach said, "I hate to hurt her like that but she needed to see that Derek wasn't the man for her, she needed to see that once a man whore, always a man whore". Peter nodded his head in agreement as he started the car and pulled away from the curb following his younger sister further and further away from Derek Michael Morgan.
