An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 16
About 30 mintues later Derek was pacing back and forth across the waiting room as Penelopes three brothers sat watching. Payton said, "I still can't believe that he did all of that to P".
Paul said, "what about Zach, he supposedly loved her, how can he do this to her, how could he do this to our sister"?, Patrick said, "I don't know but I'd like to get my hands on him for about five minutes".
Derek looked up as the rest of the team walked through the doors at the ER, Reid was the first over to the group. He looked at Derek and said, "any word"?, Derek shook his head and said, "as soon as they got her here they took her into surgery, I haven't heard anything since".
Payton said, "P is strong, she's a fighter and she loves you Derek, I mean she really loves you" and the other two brothers nodded their heads yes in agreement to what their older brother had said.
JJ wrapped her arms around Dereks neck and hugged him and said, "she's going to be okay Derek, we can't give up hope on that". Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "I'll never give up hope Jayje, never".
It was only a matter of a few minutes before they looked up and saw a nurse walking over to them. Derek looked at her as she said, "are you here for Penelope Garcia"?, Derek said, "we all are".
The nurse said, "she's out of surgery, she's in recovery right now", Derek said, "can I see her"?, the nurse said, "we don't usually do that but the doctor sent me out here to get a Derek, is their a Derek here"?, Derek said, "that's me, I'm Derek".
Everybody listened as the nurse said, "she kept asking for you, so we can let you go be with her but only for a few minutes". Derek said, thank you", as he started following the nurse Payton said, "please tell her that we love her", Derek said, "I will" and then disappeared out of sight around the corner.
As Derek stopped in front of the room Penelope was in he looked at the nurse as she said, "the doctor will be in soon to talk to you, let me warn you she's extremely pale because she's lost a lot of blood but they were able to stop the bleeding".
Derek took a deep breath and said, "thank you", she weakly smiled at him and watched as he pushed the door open and stepped inside. As he walked toward her bed the sound of the heart monitor beeping filled the room.
As soon as he reached the side of her bed he sat down and took her pale and fragile hand in his and brought it to his lips and kissed it. He then looked at her and said, "I'm so sorry baby girl, I am so sorry that I did anything to ever make you doubt me or my love for you".
He sighed and said, "you are the light and love of my life, please don't leave me, please stay with me, I love you so much and I can't lose you, not now, not ever". Derek looked around as the door opened and a doctor stepped in.
She walked over to him and said, "are you Derek"?, he nodded his head and said, "I am, I'm her boyfriend, can you please tell me how she's doing"?, the doctor nodded her head and said, "my name is Sheila Tucker and I'll be Penelopes doctor while she's here".
Derek looked at her as she opened Penelopes chart and said, "the stab wounds did a lot of damage but we were able to take care of that so both Penelope and the baby are going to be fine".
As the words hit his ears Derek said, "b b baby, did you say baby"?, Sheila said, "I did, she's around 10 weeks along". Derek smiled as his hand went to her stomach and said, "did you hear that sweetness, we're going to have a baby"?, Sheila smiled at him and said, "she'll be here for a few more hours and then we'll move her upstairs to her room".
Derek stood there in disbelief, he couldn't believe it, he was going to be a daddy and by his goddess no less. He smiled and said, "does she know about the baby"?, Sheila shook her head and said, "no she doesn't know".
Derek said, "thank you doctor, she has a lot of family in the waiting room that's waiting anxiously to get to see her". Sheila said, "it won't be long and then they can see her and I've instructed the nurses that you can stay with her, we'd like to limit it too 2 or 3 for now".
As Sheila headed toward the door Derek said, "thank you doctor, thank you for everything that you did for my baby girl here". Sheila grinned and said, "I'm glad that things are working out this way because it could have easily ended another way".
Derek nodded his head in agreement and said, "that it could, that it could", his attention then turned to his goddess laying sleeping in front of him. He intertwined their fingers and said, "I love you baby girl, I love you and our baby and no matter what I'm going to keep you both safe and happy".
He blew out a deep breath and said, "I promise"
