An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 18
As Derek walked back into Penelopes room her brothers looked up at him and Payton said, "is everything okay"?, Derek said, "not really but it will be just as soon as baby girl wakes up and looks at me with those beautiful eyes of hers".
Patrick grinned and said, "oh yeah you've got it bad" and the other two brothers grinned and nodded their heads in agreement. Paul looked at Derek and said, "you look like you've got a lot on your mind, does it have to do with P"?, Derek said, "it does".
Payton said, "is it bad news"?, Derek smiled and said, "no, we got some great news, it's just baby girl doesn't know yet". Patrick grinned and said, "waitttttt, do you mean she, that she's going to have a baby"?, Derek grinned and said, "yep, she's almost 10 weeks along already".
The brothers smiled and congratulated Derek, he ran his hand over his head and said, "I just can't wait to tell baby girl". Their attention turned to the door as JJ and Emily walked back into the room carrying coffee for the brothers.
JJ said, "can't wait to tell Garcie what"?, Derek said, "well I kinda want to tell baby girl first but since her brothers already know I guess it couldn't hurt to let you guys know about it too".
Emily said, "let us know about what"?, Derek said, "Sheila told me that baby girl is pregnant, around 10 weeks". Emily and JJ looked at each other and then at Derek and said, "congratulations" in unison as they wrapped their arms around him.
As they pulled apart Emily said, "where are Aaron and the others"?, Derek said, "they are still with Zach, I wanted to get back here to baby girl". JJ said, "were you able to find out anything from Zach"?, Derek looked down at the floor and nodded his head yes.
Payton and the other two brothers followed JJ, Emily and Derek out into the hallway, once they got there Derek sighed and then started filling them in on what Zach had told them at the jailhouse.
When he was finished JJ said, "are you kidding me, let me get my hands on him, I'll make him pay for everything he did to her". Derek said, "don't worry he's going to pay, we'll make sure of that".
Patrick said, "did he, did he ra, did he rape her"?, Derek said, "we won't know that for sure until baby girl wakes up and can tell us herself". Paul said, "poor P, I never dreamed that something like this would happen to her and at the hands of one of her brothers and an old boyfriend".
Derek said, "listen about your brother, I'm sorry", Payton said, "yeah us too but what he did was wrong, he had no right to hurt her, no right what so ever". Patrick said, "he's right Derek, you and your team did what you had to do to save Penelope, we all understand and back you 100%" causing a huge smile to grace Dereks lips.
As they all walked back inside Penelopes room everybody stayed kind of at the back, everybody except Derek who went straight to her bedside and sat down. He intertwined their fingers and brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed it.
He then looked down and said, "I swear to you that I will do whatever it takes to keep you and the baby safe from now on because I can't lose you, not now, not ever sweetness, not ever".
